History
Doko Manor first opened its door in March of 2013. The name “Doko” is believed to be an Indian name meaning “watering place” also has an African meaning of “where the iron horse drinks.” Both meanings are deemed appropriate, as steam engines stopped in Blythewood for water and fuel centuries ago. The water was stored in a wooden tower which was used until steam engines disappeared. Pictures of the water tower as well as other historical pictures of Blythewood are on the walls aligning the hallways of Doko Manor.

So many good things to say about Doko Manor! Beautiful facility...like a little jewel. I love the outdoor area, the pond with the fountain, and the beautiful view it provides from the ballrooms. Large, well appointed ballrooms that are frequently transformed into the beautiful visions of planners and their brides! The parking is perfect, and the slight seclusion makes Doko Manor a perfect venue for beautiful weddings of many sizes. The staff is courteous and professional...and a joy to work with. Bonnie Brunt Cakes LOVES providing cakes to Doko, for we know, an event at Doko Manor is always a lovely time had by all. :)
