The DJ was the last vendor I was trying to book. I was so over searching for the holy grail vendors (high quality x not outrageous cost), that I passed the short list of DJ recs to my husband.

After some email communication, we skyped with Allen and it was immediately obvious he is great person. We could also tell he cared that our reception would run smoothly. Then, we found out his prices were seriously unbeatable... done deal!
Before the wedding he provided a reception flow question list, made sure to learn correct pronunciation of the bridal party's names, and asked for our general taste/requests. I'm not a music buff, so after giving him a list of random must-plays, he filled the gaps perfectly with songs that had my entire wedding dancing all night long.
Day-of, he arrived early and made sure everything was up and running well before his official start time. He then went on to help throw the party of our dreams - our dance floor was packed and we had the time of our lives in part thanks to Allen.
We definitely got lucky in finding Allen, so in my heart of hearts I'd recommend booking him if you can!

Allen did an amazing job! We were planning our wedding from across the country so didn't have a chance to meet him before the wedding, but he was able to figure out a fantastic playlist from a dozen or so songs that we requested, and from reading the crowd. Everyone had a great time and he had everyone dancing. He's a delight to work with, very responsive, and did a wonderful job.

Allen is the BEST! My husband and I are so happy that we booked Allen to DJ our wedding. He was so fun to work with, responded quickly to our questions and completely put us at ease. All of our guests are still raving about Allen and the music. He did a fantastic job emceeing, kept our reception and party going, and ensured that the reception flowed without any hiccups. He's going to be the DJ at my brother-in-law's reception next month and we can't wait for another wedding with him! I cannot recommend Allen enough!

Where do I even begin to summarize how awesome Allen is! Our 1920's theme wedding at the Oviatt Penthouse was a little bit different, given that I was pretty set on having a pretty diverse playlist. We wanted to start with big band / old school jazz that fit the period for the cocktail hour and pre-ceremony, then move into neo-soul, old school hip hip, reggae for my Guyanese husband, r&b etc. We were all over the place and needed it to flow.
I'm originally from Los Angeles, now residing in Chicago so we had to rely on SKYPE and Facetime to meet. We talked to a few other DJ's before finding Allen but wasn't getting the right vibes. I stumbled on Allen's website through a random google search. I was impressed that he actually had legit DJ mixes because very few have samples of their work. After our consultation, me and my husband were sold.
Allen was super responsive and on top of gathering information and touching base consistently. He was professional and arrived well in advance to set up. Oviatt has a lot of rules, so a walk through 60 days before was mandatory. I didn't have to worry because Allen was on top of it and got it done well in advance before I even did my check in.
We had a few changes on the fly the day of and Allen adapted with ease. He was a great MC and kept the party going to the very end (even Grandma stayed all night!). Hands down, best DJ at any wedding I've attended (and I'm not just saying that because it was my own). Do yourself a favor and book him!

Absolutely recommend! Very accommodating and even offered to supply mics and speakers for our ceremony and come early to set up even though we only hired him for the reception. We were very behind and last minute with giving him our program, and he was great with emcee-ing our reception with little direction.

Do you want a professional, perfectionist, detail oriented and great music playing DJ? Did you even think this could exist? Allen is super down to earth and his voice on the mic is what everyone sdaid they loved (lol) he sounds like a disk jockey, great voice, great attitude, on point! DJ ADUB by farrrrrr is the best DJ I have ever hired in my life! He played literally every song we requested on our wedding day. I had a problem with my slide show not being able to play the morning of my wedding at 8:30 am I emailed Allen and within 2 minutes he responded stating he had already burned it onto a cd and that I didn't have to worry. Who does this? Someone who genuinely cares about making your event the best ! I can write pages about how customer services oriented Allen is. He pays attention to all details and wants the customer to be completely satisfied. I cant wait for more events to hire him for because he made my life so easy the day of my Wedding. He is a gem in a world of careless, unthoughtful dj's. I truly feel blessed that he was available to DJ my wedding!

From the first time we met with DJ Allen to the wedding itself, DJ Allen put us at ease. He was highly responsive by email and was very flexible. He provided sound equipment for the ceremony and cocktail hour and was our dj/mc for the reception. He did a wonderful job throughout - he was organized and helped keep things running smoothly during the reception, and most important of all, he kept the dance floor hopping throughout the night!! He even pulled out a surprise classic Canadian party song (for my Canadian side of the family) which they all loved! Thank you so much DJ Allen for being part of our day!

The thing most people remember about a wedding are the food and the drinks. It is the job of a good MC and DJ to transition naturally through all the facets of a wedding seamlessly. In that Allen is without equal. From the equipment he used for our outdoor ceremony and dance floors, to the way his up-lighting lit up our walls, he kept the mood lively, fun, and happy. Allen works very hard to get his client exactly what they want. If he doesn't have your song, he'll find a way to get it. He transitions naturally between songs and genres and finds a way to get the crowd going. There are people who understand music and people who understand crowds, Allen understands them both. As a testament to his prowess, some of my friends who were piss drunk remembered only one thing about the evening: the music. Thanks again Allen for everything!

Allen's professionalism seriously blew me away! I was really surprised at the lag time in other dj's responses when I started looking for someone for our big day. Not only was Allen quick to respond, but he had the most informative website as well. With sample mixes and videos of his announcements, I was confident that I knew what I was getting when booking with him! He rolled with changes like a true pro and everyone had an amazing time at our wedding in big part due to DJ A Dub!
