As a couple who is planning their own wedding, Derrick was a dream come true. I found him online. Looked at reviews and other photographers, and found that he was very flexible, easy to work with, and a great value for the investment. Derrick was extremely responsive in getting back to us. We developed a solid trust with him! He was super easy to work with, and was open to ideas. I love that he had recommendations, and he also worked in some suggestions we made. He did our engagement photos as well as our wedding photos. For our wedding, he was there from 3 PM till 11 PM. And he charged us one flat rate. He captured every possible single moment we could ask for! He also did our engagement photos and we went to a couple of different places and had wardrobe changes. He really made it a fun day! He charged one flat rate for that, also. I love that he was so easy to work with! He has a great, positive attitude and is very nice and professional. The bottom line? We absolutely love our pictures! And we love Derrick! I highly recommend him. We booked Derrick for our engagement photos as he was recommended by a friend, and he did such an amazing job- we asked him to be our wedding photographer!
Derrick is a great communicator by phone, text and email- whatever your preference is. His rates cannot be beat. He is super patient and willing to go the extra mile. For example, our wedding timeline was affected by unexpected traffic. The groom and groomsmen were super late! Derrick was able to shift the photo schedule and do a bunch of still photos and pictures of me (the bride) and my bridesmaids. Although he arrived at the venue early to scope it all out and to make a plan for photos, the delay resulted in a lower sun and that affected everything. He was quick to form a new plan and worked with the changing circumstances. He let us be ourselves and also had some direction for us and the group as well.
We had sneak peek photos available the next day and had all our photos within 20 days!!!! I have never heard of anyone getting their photos back so quickly. All of our photos are available on a website which our guests can access as well. They’re easily downloaded and great quality. He has offered to change anything to black and white or whatever edits we want, but I find his work to be perfect on its own.
Derrick is easy to work with. He was moving around the venue throughout the evening and was available for any picture I requested with my guests and family. It was a long day and he never complained.
His fees are extremely reasonable and transparent. I would happily recommend him for any occasion, including a wedding.

Derrick is so easy to work with and made our day extra special! He has a great eye for beautiful photos and lots of ideas to make them fun and unique. He takes soooo many pictures to choose from and provides them all to the couple. We had a great time working with Derrick and I would recommend him to anyone for your special day! Derrick did a fantastic job with our wedding. He was by far the most flexible with his arrival and end time hours from any photographer we looked at; he showed up when we started getting ready and stayed until the very end of the evening. He took a ton of beautiful photos and had a very quick turn around with getting us the edits. He was also very polite and a fun presence to have around for the entire day, and even scoped out our venue a few weeks before the wedding to come up with interesting and fun shots around the area.

We previously had Derrick take our daughters senior picture and he was happy to take her wedding photos years later. Derrick went to site before wedding and had great backdrop for all of our photos. It was a great experience.

Mr. Dixon was amazing to work with. He is very attentive. He met with me at the venue a couple weeks before the wedding to get a feel and plan out where we can get the optimal pictures. On the date of my wedding he arrived early and ready to go. He got tons of candid shots of the bridal party and the groomsmen getting ready as well as pictures of the venue. He was able to get a lot of pictures during both the ceremony and reception as well. He worked with us to make sure the pictures we had in our heads came out perfectly. All the picture come out beautifully. We received the pictures on a flash drive and a personalized website. I would recommend Derrick to anyone.

Derrick was a pleasure to work with. He was prompt and thorough in answering any questions we had leading up to our wedding day and he was a blast to have at our wedding. Our bridal party always talks about how awesome and fun he was. Our family photos during our cocktail hour were a bit hectic given how large our families are, but Derrick helped to keep things calm while also ensuring we got the photos that we needed and wanted. Turn around time for photos was very quick and the photos are stunning. Something that really stood out to us about Derrick and something we really appreciated, was the work he was willing to put in even after he had given us our photos. We had some difficulty printing some photos on canvases because of layout being horizontal versus vertical and Derrick was quick to adjust the photo for us so that we were able to print the photo on canvas. He also took additional requests from us such as making a color photo black and white, etc. We really appreciate the hard work he put into our photos and we are so thankful we chose Derrick to capture all of the special moments from our day!

Derrick was on point for everything we needed at our wedding. He listened to our wants and needs and over delivered! We got married in 2016 and in 2021, we still have our wedding photos ALL over our house because they’re truly my favorite thing from that day. It’s very true what they say, “have a good photographer because the day goes by quickly!” So glad Derrick was ours!

Derrick went above and beyond by traveling two hours to capture our engagement photos at the location where my Husband and I met. Our outside photos turned out amazing, despite the freezing temps. Derrick never complained about how cold or out-of-the-way our location was, and he was willing to try anything to get the “perfect shots.” We provided some ideas and pictures of other engagement photos we liked, and he was able to recreate them perfectly! The turnaround for the engagement photos was quick, which we were grateful for because we used the photos for everything! Derrick’s photos were on our save-the-dates, bridal shower invitations, wedding invitations, rehearsal dinner invitations, thank-you cards, guest book and profile pictures on Facebook. Plus, Derrick provided a cool wooden magnetic thumb drive with hundreds of photos for us to sort through, and he even printed out a lot of pictures for us. We framed many of the prints throughout our apartment and gave some to our families. Derrick is so generous and really cares about his clients.

Leading up to the wedding, Derrick was very prompt in responding to questions in regards our timeline, was willing to do two walk-throughs of our venue, and attended our rehearsal. Derrick came prepared with the list of photos that we wanted along with the sample wedding shots that we saved from other weddings. We could tell Derrick wanted to do a good job by the questions he was asking about the ceremony and paid careful attention to the sun and time of day.

On the day of our wedding, Derrick arrived early to capture candid shots of us getting ready. Derrick was able to capture all the important moments we requested without being invasive. When going through the prints that Derrick gave us from our wedding day, we were surprised at some of the shots he got because we never even noticed him when we think back on those moments. Derrick was great about not taking us away from our guests during the reception and stayed to capture our grand exit. Again, Derrick gave us a cool magnetic wooden thumb drive along with lots of printed photos. He even stayed with us in the coffee shop as we looked through the printed photos and we retold stories of the day.

We are so happy with the photos that Derrick took. We never realized how much these photos would bring back memories that got lost in the busyness of the day and help trigger those special emotional moments. Derrick gave us such a selection of poses, candid shots and editing that it will make it difficult for us to narrow down the pictures to fit into a single album. Derrick was very helpful on the wedding day. We had a lot of fun with him and we are sad we will not be talking or seeing him on a regular basis anymore. He was great with our families and friends, and he coordinated his shots with our videographers very well. He feels like a family friend to us now. We plan on having Derrick take our future family photos – buying our first house, maternity photos, baby photos, family portraits, graduation photos, etc. We highly recommend Derrick. He is very artistic, caring, talented, professional, experienced, and a great friend. We are so happy he was able to be a part of our engagement and wedding day. Thank you, Derrick!
