Live Guitar New England made our ceremony and cocktail hour incredibly unique and special. David Ross not only provided microphones to our officiant and reader/singer (so important for an outdoor wedding!) he also learned to play any song we asked of him. I had a special song in mind for my bridal entrance and David not only learned it, but played it soulfully and perfectly. Additionally, my husband's daughter chose a song to sing during our ceremony, so David worked with her on it, learned to play it, and made her feel extremely comfortable. The performance was a magical moment.
David also creates the perfect vibe for the cocktail hour. Since we chose to have a DJ for our reception, it was so special to incorporate an aspect of live music during the ceremony and cocktail hour. He really is a talented musician and consummate professional.

He is highly organized and professional, hearing our goals for the day and offering suggestions, song lists, and sound bites to help us decide. We had David play for our ceremony and cocktail hour at our wedding and he was absolutely fabulous! He was able to learn a specific song I wanted to walk down the aisle and our guests loved him during cocktail hour. He was super friendly professional, and played the music we requested. My spouse and I cannot say enough good things about David. We retained David's services for our rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony, and a cocktail hour prior to the reception. For the rehearsal dinner and ceremony, David played solo on his nylon-string classical guitar. For the cocktail hour, David went above and beyond by enlisting a keyboardist and bringing out his archtop guitar to create precisely the laid back, jazzy atmosphere we'd envisioned. (David also provided audio amplification for us and our officiant during the ceremony.)

From the moment we heard David play at the rehearsal, it was plain that we had made the right choice. He was able to transition effortlessly between classical guitar tunes, jazz standards, and twentieth and twenty-first century popular music. (David's repertoire is vast, to say the least, and we were blown away by his ability to learn and arrange for solo guitar relatively complicated tunes like the Jerry Garcia Band version of Shining Star. He also has an uncanny ability to capture the essence of a song typically played by a full, often-electrified band on solo acoustic guitar.)

Perhaps most impressive was David's ability to "read the room," so to speak. Not once did we feel the need to give David cues in one direction or another. He knew precisely when to begin playing, the proper set up of his audio equipment and volume of play, how to arrange requested songs in a manner that accentuated the most meaningful moments at our wedding without ever overpowering them, and the best direction to take our general, non-song-specific requests.

Lastly, David was a joy to work with. He was punctual in his communication, and he seemed just as happy taking the lead and providing clear, template-like structure (for those unsure about their musical preferences for an event) as he did allowing my spouse and I to pitch our own distinctive vision for the event -- a vision which he played an integral role in bringing to life.

Dealing with vendors during wedding planning can be stressful. I cannot think of a single time that David caused any stress. To the contrary, working with David was frictionless and lovely. I would recommend to all.

There is nothing more lovely than your day turning out exactly as you imagined it. Our wedding day began with the most stunning guitar music to welcome our guests. We were recently married in Vermont and David did an incredible job with our ceremony and cocktail hour music. He was extremely professional and flexible. Our wedding was outside and he had all the amplification needed, as well as a mic for our officiant. He has a great, versatile list of music but was also very willing to add our song requests.
