The Dairy Barn Arts Center is nestled in the hills of southeast Ohio within walking distance to Ohio University's main Athens campus. The Ohio University Inn is located just down the lane from the venue or a quick shuttle ride from the many hotels located on East State Street. We are the only venue located inside city limits that includes day before set-up & day after tear-down!
Our main reception space seats 150 and costs $2,000 to rent. We also have our gallery space available for limited dates that can seat up to 250 for $3,500. Both spaces require a $200 deposit and include a sounds system (if you choose to self-DJ), access to the catering kitchen (you can bring in whoever you choose), patio space for outdoor entertaining, ample parking, access to our one mile nature trail with amphitheater, outdoor ceremony options and tables and chairs for up to 150. It also includes a day before set-up and a day after tear-down.
If you book your event during an exhibit, you can allow guests access to the exhibit for $100/hour.
The Dairy Barn Arts Center Bar, "The Neon Cow Bar" is available for rent as well during your event. Our establishment does not permit outside alcohol on the premises per our state of Ohio liquor license. The bar manager, Sierra Crenshaw offers 1-2 bartenders at $20/hour per bartender, $50 bar set up fee per 150 people and special order alcohol orders prior to the event. She will also have bar back (s) on hand to help clear glassware and clean up any spills. The Neon Cow Bar offers cash bar as well as different open bar options. Sierra will guide you through how much to order and even offer signature drink specials! Please keep in mind that The Neon Cow does require 20% gratuity on all purchased alcohol as well as mixed drinks totaled. This amount will vary depending on how many guests as well as how much alcohol is ordered. Sierra will always do her best to provide the best service and drinks for your event with your budget in mind!
I would love to set a time to show you the space and answer any additional questions you have! Let me know your availability if you would like to set something up. Please contact Cassie at email@example.com

The Dairy barn is a beautiful place to get married! Very economical, with a quaint yet clean country feel. When you rent the barn you rent the grounds as well (unless they have a planned event, in which case you work around it or pick a different date). Their coordinator is very nice and very thorough. One reception hall, the AEP Wing, already has Christmas lights strung across the ceiling and you can just plug in and go! Their back grounds have outlets installed so you can have a sound system if your wedding is outside.Sent on 07/13/2013
My original plan was to have the wedding no the grounds and proceed inside for the reception. It was so rainy and humid that we ended up moving the wedding inside with the reception. But the day turned out to be a beautiful one none the less.

They location seemed very flexible up front but as the time came closer to the reception, there were more rules that kept appearing. She was great at communication and was very friendly! The grounds are beautiful!Sent on 12/05/2014

Absolutely beautiful. It is a little pricey but SOOO worth it! Perfect places for photography. The only downside to this was I had to go with their catering service- or I had to pay a huge fee to use my own caterer that was certified.Sent on 11/23/2015
