I have so many good things to say about Coopers Hall. We initially chose them as our reception venue because of the beauty of the space, convenient location for our guests, quality of food/beverages, and the fact that they're relatively all-inclusive (less stress for us!). Over the course of our two-year engagement, the event staff to be absolutely invaluable resources. We initially worked with Shannan during the booking process, then Maegan was assigned as our event lead once we paid our deposit. Both of them were extremely responsive and honestly just fun to work with. We had a million random questions that popped up and we always got a timely and helpful response. It really soothed our (ok, MY) anxiety through the process, and the advice was always spot on. Mae also worked with us during the week of as Maegan was out of town on our wedding day, so I can say from experience that their entire events team is top-notch. They communicated together perfectly and the transitions were very smooth, with nothing getting lost from one person to the next.Sent on 09/18/2019
But what was most important to the experience on the day was the whole staff’s incredible flexibility and attention to detail. We had a ton of last-minute guest list adjustments, including 5 unexpected people showing up on the day and 1 no-show. The team figured it all out in stride and worked with our day-of coordinator to make sure everyone had a seat at the right table. The food was plentiful, beautiful, and perfectly prepared. After the menu tasting we’d requested a couple small tweaks to the preparation and they NAILED it on the day (thank you chef!!!). Nothing felt like “wedding food”; it was all so fresh and imaginative, and it gave a real sense of place which was important to us since many of our guests were from out-of-state. The bartenders were fast and cheerful (I don’t think I saw a single person waiting in line for a drink all night). And food service was impeccable, with all the tables getting served at almost exactly the same time. I’m glad we opted for family-style; our guests seem to really enjoy trying a bit of everything and sharing around. I also want to mention that CH went above and beyond for our guests with dietary restrictions—we got a lot of compliments about how impressed they were with the kitchen’s ability to accommodate allergies etc. They even set up a lovely private table for our vendors with candles and a real meal service, which we really appreciated.
All in all, I can’t recommend Coopers Hall enough. We’re just in awe of how beautiful the evening turned out!

We are the family of the bride doing this review. The happy couple used to live in Portland and they toured two other places and decided on Cooper's Hall. I can't say enough good things about this wedding venue. It's cool Portland hip surroundings for atmosphere. First of all the wedding coordinator (Maegan) was so helpful, friendly, efficient and understanding. We loved her. The wedding couple wanted to have the actual ceremony is the same location so Cooper's Hall set up chairs in the traditional arrangement--two sides of chairs and an aisle. The bride walked down a long dramatic stairway to enter. The ceremony was perfect and everyone could hear with the provided microphone. We bought white roses (3 vases per table)and the coordinator arranged them for us (above and beyond the call of duty). After the ceremony, an army of staff arranged the table for dinner while we mingled for the cocktail hour. The place has 15 wines on tap and we chose three types to serve to guests. If they wanted cocktails, it was a no host option which worked just fine. The passed hors d'oeuvre were delicious and hot. The dinner was served family style at each table (Lamb, trout, salad and a cauliflower dish). These were all served quickly and perfectly by a very attentive team of wait staff. Wine was poured at the table so we just paid for what people actually drank. And people had their glasses immediately filled when they needed more. The wedding was the best I've ever been to. Everything ran like a finely tuned swiss clock. And the cost was so reasonable. Five star experience!!!Sent on 08/29/2018

Coopers Hall is the best wedding venue ever. The space is so unique and beautiful on it's own that you hardly need to spend any money on decoration for the space. It was so nice that they provided tables and chairs and all glassware, plates, and table cloths so the only additions we made were some floral and a couple couch rentals for cocktail hour. There wasn't even a venue fee - just a food and beverage minimum which we easily met with 80 guests. Shannan was wonderful to work with throughout our planning process and answered all of our millions of questions so quickly!Sent on 07/25/2018
On the day of the staff was incredible! I hardly finished a sip of wine before I was getting a refill and everyone was so kind throughout the planning process any time we stopped in. Our guests cannot stop raving about how delicious the food was. Even though the food is a little pricey it is SO SO WORTH IT! I have never had food at a wedding as yummy as this - it's amazing the quality they can produce in high quantities.
As an LGBTQ couple we felt so included in this space and all the contracts, forms, and communication was always with us in mind (never the typical bride/groom language on anything)! We wish we could have our wedding day all over again because this venue made it so special!
