I got married in Jersey City about an hour away from my home and as a result emailed a lot of bakers and bakeries to find someone to make our cake. Our caterer provided a dessert buffet so we just needed a small two tier cake to cut at the reception and I had a simple design in mind based of the Disney Paperman short. I got a lot of confused responses from bakeries who didn't know why I only wanted a small cake and many responses seemed overly expensive for what we were looking for. I finally emailed Cocoa Bakery on a whim after a search of Jersey City and bakeries and it is the best thing that ever happened to me. Jessie emailed me back immediately and was totally on board with what I was looking for and got it right away. The bakery had been flooded during Hurricane Sandy and her location was not yet open and so we kept in contact every so often leading up to their opening so we could go in for a tasting. EVERYTHING AT COCOA BAKERY IS TO DIE FOR. My now husband and I went up with my parents and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. My father is not a big cake eater. He doesn't really like frosting and usually sticks to brownies or cookies. When he tried the almond cake we sampled he went back for more!! Everyone at Cocoa Bakery is incredibly friendly, Jessie is incredibly talented, and you'll just want to try one of everything in the bakery. When I saw our wedding cake after it was delivered I was fighting back tears. It was just stunning. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
