Our Spaces: The Chapel and 1893

The Chapel: Iconic and traditional meets modern industrial design in this renovated former church. Located in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City, Church & State offers a uniquely stunning event venue. Featuring soaring arches and stained glass throughout, our 3,500 square foot chapel mixes historic grandeur with modern industrial elements to create an awe-inspiring and versatile space that is second to none. All furniture is included for your use and can be re-arranged to perfectly suit your unique event.

1893: A fresh, modern and completely customizable space in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City. 1893 is nestled inside of a renovated church turned entrepreneurial ecosystem. The space provides 1,800 square feet of clean, blank canvas to display your personal vision. The customizable layout includes removable/rotating wall units, optional furnishings, and an attached prep kitchen. With its bright, energetic possibilities, 1893 makes for the ideal minimalist dreamland.

Magical with a Mission

We LOVED working with church & state! Cindy and her team helped us make our perfect evening happen. Even with the uncertainty of the pandemic they were able to help us make sure our wedding was still able to happen. We fell in love with the space, and the mission of their work. It was everything we could have hoped for! We opted to purchase an extra hour for set up (which was much needed!) but everything else went smoothly. We were nervous about having to flip the room but their team made it happen so quickly our guests didn’t even mind. They were fantastic!

We had our wedding here and it was the most amazing experience ever! Our wedding coordinator, Blair, was amazing and on top of everything so our wedding ran smoothly and efficiently. She has experience in coordinating tons of weddings so she was able to answer any questions and also suggest many ideas to make our wedding fun. We had about 140 people at the ceremony and then about 50 more arrive for the reception. The ceremony was done upstairs and then everybody moved downstairs for cocktail hour while the staff flipped the upstairs space for the reception. The space was perfect and it did not seem squished at all. The stain glass windows, brick walls and the bistro lighting made the ambiance so romantic and was very unique compared to the places we have been to for weddings in Utah. I would highly suggest this venue to anybody!
