Everything about these guys were great. We do not live near their headquarters so they accommodate us on the weekend for the initial tasting. The email corespondents and phone calls made it easy to work with them even as I kept changing things.

A lot of our guests complimented the food and the wait staff were very attentive which was awesome.

The only bad thing was that they brought out our cupcakes too early so guests started eating them before we “cut” ours. Our wedding coordinator made it work though. I’m not sure who made the mistake, but all in all I had a great experience with these guys and I highly recommend them to anyone on a budget.

I loved working with Checkers Catering! My special thanks go out to Jacquie Jiminez, our coordinator who absolutely nailed it. She’s smart, intuitive and so fun to work with! She made sure every detail was taken care of and my wedding day was flawless! I especially love that Checkers gives you access to their warehouse to add decorations, and they even decorate the buffet tables with flowers according to your color scheme. I loved Jacquie’s energy, from the first moment we met I felt very comfortable that our special day was in good hands. Checkers has an awesome menu with great selections, the buffet style was delicious and was a crowd pleaser. I’m so happy I got to work with this company, I highly recommend choosing them! Checkers was the best! The menu options were great, we had so much to choose from. In the end we went with an all vegan menu since both the bride and groom are vegan. It was excellent and we got lots of compliments from the guests. Jacquie was wonderful to work with and their service was excellent on the day of. We couldn't have chosen better! We especially loved that they provided the tableware, dishes, glasses, chairs, linens and decor for the banquet tables as well as the delicious food.

We had a lot of trouble finding a caterer that would do a fantastic, affordable meal that was all vegetarian for our wedding, especially in the central valley where the event was held. We finally found Checkers, and they were a perfect fit! We had a delicious custom-designed menu for our buffet dinner, including scrumptious chili, roasted veggies, honey corn muffins, and several gourmet salads, plus a delicious kids mac n' cheese that we couldn't keep the adults away from. We got so many compliments on the food, from meat eaters and vegetarians alike! They also were very professional and good to work with, and worked with me to fit in our event despite being heavily booked up and low-staffed the weekend of our wedding. We only had one small issue with a mis-communication on the contract / pricing, but I was able to work it out with them by phone and the threw in some free decorations for the buffet tables to compensate for the inconvenience. The staff they sent for the event itself were very professional and nice. Overall, a very good experience, and I would recommend their services to anyone looking for a flexible, high-quality caterer that will give you fantastic food and good service for your event.

I used Checkers for my wedding in October, 2013.

First off. Samantha, who was our day of coordinator, was AMAZING. Monica, who dealt with our account and worked with us in the months leading up to our wedding was also absolutely fantastic. She had to attend her best friend's wedding the same day as my wedding so we were handed off to Samantha a few months before our wedding. The hand off was very smooth and professional, and Monica stayed in the loop up until she left to be in her friend's wedding (a few days before my own wedding) and checked in with us after she returned the day after my wedding. Everything was handled with exceptional professionalism.

The food was fantastic. We had asked them to do some things off their menu, some we liked (ask for a chicken cordon bleu with blood orange sauce!!). Others we thought the way they prepared the dish was far better than the changes we asked them to make (they had a wonderful blend of mashed sweet potato and yukon gold potato). Everything that was served was fantastic and our guests raved about the food for the rest of the night. My only regret is that my wife and I didn't get to take any home (we live in L.A. and drove back the day after the wedding, so we left everything with our families).

Samantha was the best day of coordinator I could have asked for. She was constantly checking in to see if there was anything we needed done, and got everything done that I asked of her in a more than timely manner. Her staff did far more than just do dinner set-up, they really helped with making sure that the ceremony and reception sites were fully set up. Samantha was an invaluable resource to help coordinate with the venue and lighting setup.

We had some mason jars with candles in them as part of our decorations as well as serving as party favors. They had Ashley go through and light the candles during dinner, she actually set them up to look far more beautiful than how we (the lowly groom and groomsmen) had set

I am so happy we went with Checkers for our catering! The food was fantastic and the staff was incredible to work with. We had a great experience discussing food options and tasting, floral, linens, glassware, etc. They really helped us stick to budget and guided us through the process with our other vendors, such as music and lighting. They took the ideas i had for the wedding and made them reality!

Monica was amazing from start to finish. She was always helpful and patient when I called and asked her a million questions before the wedding. She had everything under control during the reception, making sure everything was going the way it was suppose to.
