Excellent October Wedding Venue
Our ceremony was in the planetarium and the reception was was on the Spees second floor. It was an excellent venue with professional staff that helped make our event so special. We worked with Samantha to coordinate the details, who was extremely responsive and helpful throughout the entire process. The technicians were extremely knowledgeable and helped to program our songs/ visuals for the ceremony. Overall, the venue was perfect for our event and we would highly recommend Chabot.Sent on 11/03/2019

A night we'll never forget!
Our wedding was so much fun - our guests were blown away and kept telling us all night (and in the days and weeks since!) how much fun they had and how it was such a unique and memorable venue. We did the whole shebang and rented out the entire venue - so our ceremony was in the planetarium (kicked off the night with a planetarium show), our cocktail hour was upstairs in the 2nd floor Spees exhibit area, and our reception/dancing was in the astronomy hall. We had 145 people and fit great. The sky was clear and the telescopes were a huge hit (it was a bit chilly outside so there weren't really many members of the public there which worked well for ensuring our guests didn't wait in too long of a line).Sent on 10/19/2019
We did minimal decorations (mostly lighting) since the venue has so much personality. We worked with Amy initially and Nicole later in the planning process and they were both very responsive and helpful. Amy moved a few months ago and the transition to Nicole was seamless - we were in great hands. Nicole was also our planetarium operator and she was extremely helpful in crafting our planetarium ceremony, particularly with editing the show (flying through stars with a custom playlist we made) and programming various visual effects during the ceremony (we had a nebula in the sky when guests walked in, some shooting stars during the ceremony and two galaxies collide when we kissed!)
Chabot offers so many different variations on rental packages so you can rent out different portions of the museum across a broad spectrum of price-points (other museums we looked at were WAY more expensive, and didn't really have price variations in their options). Also, it's an education non-profit so it feels nice that the venue fee is going towards science education. (Budgeting note: you more or less have to go off of their pre-approved caterers list, so I'd recommend getting catering quotes early since that has a big budget impact)
Chabot Space & Science Center's reply:Hi Heather, Thank you so much for the review! It's so nice to hear that you and your guests had such a fantastic time! It was honestly a pleasure working with you. The ceremony was simly lovely, and the custom soundtrack used for the Universal show was an amazing touch. I feel really fortunate that I got to help you plan your special day. -Nicole

Chabot is a magical place to get married
We had a large multicultural wedding at Chabot that was truly epic. We had a large baraat outdoors, followed by a ceremony in the planetarium, a cocktail hour with a planetarium show, and a reception upstairs. It was a unique and special place to get married, and very memorable! The staff was very professional and kind throughout. Highly recommend!Sent on 10/27/2019
