Taste test recommended prior to deciding on food, overall an excellent place to host a wedding!

Our wedding coordinator at the Century Center was absolutely wonderful. She was very responsive and professional the entire time. Because of her timeliness and responsiveness, planning the reception was one of the least stressful parts of the wedding planning process. They really had their act together. (Our ceremony was at another location.) I would definitely recommend the Century Center to anyone getting married in the South Bend area.

Dramatic in all the best ways

We fell in love with the Century Center after seeing the enormous windows that overlooked the river and the grand staircase down into the Great Hall. The venue was everything we had hoped for and was the perfect size for the number of guests that we had (190). The staff took care of everything for us, which was amazing, and the food was honestly the best wedding food I've ever had (and I'm not just bragging since it was my wedding food, it really was a quality meal)! And the island was THE PERFECT place for our cocktail hour. It was beautiful, and all of our guests raved about it. We had a wonderful time working with Jennifer Hoke, who was attentive and made sure everything that could be prepared for was. She and Kate Lawton also worked with us to create a more tailored wedding package that would work with our budget and creative vision. We did have some issues in communication initially right after we booked (the management team was in the middle of a team change and were understaffed for a few months), but once Jennifer came into the role, we had a very easy time getting in contact and getting everything coordinated with them.

The serving staff was amazing, not only did I notice how great they were but several of my guest commented on how lovely they were during our reception. Kimberly, the day of coordinator was very nice and helpful but did not always understand how I wanted things. I would just make sure you communicate. She is new to the position so it could be part of the learning curve. The appetizers and the chicken were amazing. Not to mention the view at dusk. All in all the Century Center helped make our day beautiful and memorable. If we did it all over again we would choose the Century Center!

We used the great hall at Century Center for our wedding reception. While finding a date that was available was by far the most complicated part of our whole wedding process - we finally found a date that was available without being a ND home game. We could not complain about anything at the actual reception - everything was in it's place as promised and beautiful. The service was great provided by the bartenders and wait staff, and the food was surprisingly good.

The booking staff could have been more accomodating, but all in all it came together perfectly.

I would highly recommend this venue if you are looking for a large venue that can easily handle 400+ people. I do not think this venue would be nearly as needed if you are having a small wedding.

We booked the Century Center in 2012 for our 2013 wedding. About four months before our wedding, we were informed that the management company was changing and that we would be working with different coordinators and catering for our event.

Overall, I think the change was an improvement. The new management company has things moving in the right direction, and Kate, who coordinated our event, was attentive and helpful. However, the event itself could have run more smoothly. When they opened the bar after dinner, they only had one bar tender (we were supposed to have more than that) which created a huge backup for drinks. They also were slow in getting the cake off the dance floor and cut.

Alex Blatt was wonderful. He was professional, thorough, conscious of budgets, timelines and schedules. He worked very hard to make a seemingly complicated event and made it quite simple to pull together. He not only listened to what we wanted as a couple but he made it happen. Without Alex, working with the Century Center would have been very difficult. Our event was everything we wanted it to be thanks in part to Alex and his efforts; however, getting to that point would have been difficult with him!
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to help you make those big decisions with ease.
