Carmelo's is right down the street from the church where we got married. It was so convenient to walk from the rehearsal to the rehearsal dinner.

Carmelo himself is a bona fide Italian gentleman. The restaurant exudes old world hospitality. My own grandfather is Italian, and so the host and sommelier both reminded me of him. The food and wine are excellent. You won't find a more reasonably priced rehearsal dinner venue in the area. It wasn't cheap, but nothing is. My husband and I went to Italy last year, and this restaurant reminded us of the many dinners we ate there. We thought it would be a very fitting place to celebrate our impending nuptials with all of our family and wedding party.

Carmelo's has been on that same corner in Houston forever. It's a great place. Try the chicken parmesan. It was probably just as much if not more fun to go and try the restaurant before booking it for our rehearsal dinner. I can't wait to go back!

Do not hire for catering, your food won't show up and they'll have lots of excuses
