Welcome to our site! My name is Lorrayne Cruz Almodóvar, a cake artist originally from Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. I started a career in cake decorating since the age of nine. While working in my mother’s cake business, I worked towards my bachelors’ degree in Microbiology and Masters degree in Biochemistry, all while having a full time job and side business.

Through my love of baking, artistic desire and fine eye for detail, it wasn’t long before I decided to take over the business and bring fresh ideas and techniques. I now own and run my own boutique cake decorating business – The Cake House Boutique.

I have now been formally trained by three Food Network Challenge champions. Our gorgeous wedding and sweet 16 cakes presented at the Wedding Expo 2012 and the dazzling novelty Iron Patriot cake were the hit at the 2013 Puerto Rico Comic-Con, both held at the Puerto Rico Convention Center in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Here at Cake House Boutique we are passionate about creating edible works of art for special occasions, taking great pride in using delicious recipes. Only the finest ingredients are used to freshly bake cakes, cookies, cupcakes and other sweet treats from scratch.
