We really loved working with Bryan Jonathan and his co-photographer, Kate! They were very thoughtful, kind, and respectful; making us laugh throughout the day while capturing the most beautiful shots. They were both so wonderful and created such a tailored experience for the combining of our families–from the planning stage, to the taking photos of ourselves and our loved ones. As an interracial LGBTQIA+ couple, we wanted to make sure we worked with a photographer who was respectful, excited for our special day, and most importantly, would be willing to capture and present our love in the most affirming and beautiful ways. Bryan and Kate both exemplified these aspects in the best ways possible. It was SO clear that Byran was well experienced. He was patient and walked us two novices through the entire process (both planning and day of work). Bryan ensured that we felt safe and could just be ourselves which he then caught on camera so we can see and celebrate our authentic selves for years to come. We had a vision of having nature shots, which he took and with his expert knowledge of lighting, landscape, and placement, had us in fantastic shots that our friends and family are in awe of. We wholeheartedly recommend hiring Bryan Jonathan as a photographer for any special events! Our wonderful day would not have been the same without his expertise and skill set.

WOW! If you're in need of a photographer, we cannot recommend Bryan enough. He was with us through planning, covid turmoil, date change, and was our best friend throughout our wedding day. He took high quality indoor photos, candid shots, and fantastic outdoor ones in Duluth summer heat. His editing was on point - we looked like the best version of ourselves, scenery was crisp, and detail shots were creative! The person he chose as a second shooter really added to the fun dynamic and they both made the day enjoyable. We had a few relatives that attempted to run the family photos, but Bryan was able to quickly get in the requested shots and kept everyone on track without getting flustered. Definitely took pressure off of us! We are so impressed with his photography, personal skills, time management, and impressive ability to be your friend in the midst of chaos. Bryan’s slogan on his webpage is “Epic photos, great experience, no BS” and that’s 100% true. Bryan is a straight shooter, he’s not the type of photographer to put a filter on a photo. He captures natural light and uses it to his advantage, for me that’s a timeless look. He was awesome & captured our fall 2020 wedding with ease (not an easy time to do such thing). Bryan took our engagement photos along the North Shore and travelled to Central MN for our wedding & we were so happy with both! Oh and he was awesome with our dog too!

Bryan & his extra photographer were amazing. They are very skilled photographers and have attention to detail. They were able.to be very coordinated with our very large bridal party. Including Bride, Groom, our dog (dog handler), junior bridesmaids, flower girls, MOH, & Best Man we totaled to be 30 total. Thank you Bryan & Kate you did wonderful and loved our sneak peak photos.

Bryan went above an beyond to make our engagement photos and the photos of our wedding day perfect! Because my husband and I live outside of Duluth, we had limited opportunities to visit the beautiful place that we planned to be married, which forced our engagement session to be done in the very brown spring of this year. Despite this, Bryan was able to find beautiful places on the shore of Superior to take the engagement photos that ranged from a glittery artic backdrop to sun-dappled pine forests. Stunning outdoor pictures! For our wedding, he and his assistant Kayla captured some amazing moments that we will cherish forever including our goofy and ridiculously photogenic flowergirls as well as my grandparents dedication dance as they celebrate 75 years of marriage. Excellent folks to work with; my husband and I would definitely recommend their services!

Can’t even begin to explain how amazing Bryan is/was. His creativity is beyond anything we ever imagined. The man even climbed a TREE to get a shot, and turns out it’s our favorite. The photos captured not only the image, but the emotion. We could never have received better service, flexibility, creativity, professionalism, and one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. Bryan made our day. He went above and beyond to get the shots we requested, and some more that he thought would fit us. He was personable and fun to be around. Full disclosure, I’ve known Bryan since we were 15. Over the years I’ve watched his photography develop (sometimes literally!) from casual friend snapshots, covering high school life for the yearbook, taking stunning travel photos during college, filming videos for the local evening news, to taking phenomenal youth sports action shots for parents eager to memorialize their hockey prodigy. He has honed his skills with each of those thousands and thousands of photos.

But best of all has been watching his consistent connection to couples for their wedding. I’m outing him: Bryan has a romantic side that is beautifully suited to wedding photography. When I got engaged to Chris, there was no one else that we even thought about to take our wedding photos.
