As a destination wedding planner, I can honestly say this is one of the most beautiful venues in Sicily; perfect for intimate weddings and elopements. Tucked away in the magical village of Savoca, it offers breathtaking views that instantly captivate you.
The staff is exceptional and makes you feel at home from the very beginning. And the cuisine? Simply outstanding. The chef surprises you every day with exquisite, high-level dishes that elevate the entire experience.

Hotel
A beautiful hotel with an old world rustic feel to it! Beautiful surroundings, amazing staff, magical time.

Event
We held our wedding blessing event at the hotel. We were looking for a traditional Sicilian wedding feel and this hotel situated near a remote village is just exquisite. We actually didn’t realize the film history with Savoca, which appeared in the iconic 1972 movie "The Godfather," including Bar Vitelli and of course the famous church.

We couldn’t have picked a better place and all our guests were overwhelmed with the Sicilian beauty. We were lucky with the weather for that time of year, July -although with being higher up in the hills it was cooler with a nice breeze from the sea. Our guests had a fantastic time...and in the downtime, there's a stroll into Savoca or basking by the hotel's beautiful pool...

Organization
We didn’t have a wedding planner -- we thought we could do it ourselves, however the hotel staff and specifically Francesca, helped by Alexandra were able to facilitate/coordinate everything from the ceremony, flowers, hairdresser, music and special touches/gifts for our guests. The staff did an absolutely unbelievable job going way beyond to make everything run smoothly. Photographer Andrea was an excellent photographer. We had a wonderful band from Danilo, an incredible violinist who made our event magical.

Food
Where do I start with the food? Well, this is Italy or more specifically, Sicily and the food is generally excellent wherever you go, but all I can say is Wow ! Chef Francesco should have a Michelin star -the food, from the taste to the presentation, was out of this world. All home made....You have to have the "fresh off the boat" tuna, or the freshly caught sea bass or actually just try everything--fusilli with pesto, pasta with clams/mussels, the desserts-- fresh canolo, cake, the list goes on and on! Fantastic chef and soul-touching food in this amazing place-- just blew us away.

Wine tasting
We wanted to have a wine tasting for our guests, but decided that we didn’t want to embark on an hour journey to a winery, so we asked the hotel for ideas. Little did we know that the General Manager, (the owner's son and another Francesco) is a sommelier and had actually been teaching other sommeliers. The hotel put together more than a wine tasting for us and our guests, they also included a food pairing...Now we have done plenty of wine tours and tastings, but this event with the wine pairing was excellent.. Did I mention the amazing food that the chef put together?

People
Only one word to say about the people, and it's “Family”--not only is this a typical family run style hotel but they make you feel like family, There is a plaque in their reception that reads “come as guests, leave as friends” which should read "family", because I felt like we left behind my Dad (the Owner Mr Vittorio), sisters Francesco and Alexandra, and Sandra, who runs breakfast and just about everything else-- brothers Francesco the Chef, the head waiter Davide, and of course Francesco the General Manager. We apologise if we forgot to mention everyone.

Final comment. We had the most amazing event, and it’s all down to the wonderful people that run and operate this beautiful hotel. We can’t thank you enough.

We had our wedding at Borgo San Rocco in Savoca and it was everything we dreamed of. The venue is set in a beautiful, authentic Sicilian village — narrow streets, stone buildings, and stunning views everywhere you look. The atmosphere was peaceful, romantic, and full of charm. It truly felt like stepping back in time.

The staff were fantastic — so friendly, professional, and always ready to help with anything we needed. The food was amazing too — fresh, local, and full of flavor. Everything went perfectly and our guests were blown away by the whole experience. If you want a real taste of Sicily for your special day, this is the place!

If you are looking for a magical dream wedding, look no further. We’ve just come back from our wedding at Borgo San Rocco and are still buzzing from the incredible fairy-tale experience. From the absolutely fantastic food prepared by chef Francesco to the unbelievable views and scenery, our guests were delighted and spoiled by the entire team. We found this hotel by luck and since our very first request, they have treated us like family and made our wedding planning feel seamless. Francesca was there every step of the way, securing the necessary paperwork with the mayor for the civil ceremony, recommending and supporting us in choosing our musicians, photographer, videographer and florist. She and Alessandra helped me in my hair trials and ensured we were taken care of on the day of the wedding with translations, prosecco, sandwiches and emotional support. Davide and Christian took care of all our libations, and Francesco hosted an amazing wine tasting and food pairing for a dozen or so of our guests a few days after the wedding. Not only were they attentive to every detail for us, but each of our guests left the week feeling as if they had been personally looked after – no small feat when there over 40 people and several octogenarians who needed extra care in getting around. A special mention for the owner, Don Vittorio, who made a real effort to talk with all the guests, sharing a cigar with his favorites!

Finally, I would definitely recommend filling the hotel with your guests and having a pool party the day after - a great way to blow the cobwebs out after a fantastic night dancing in the moonlight with the Ionian vistas in the background. We brought a bunch of pool floats and the music and bar were hopping, making the whole wedding extravaganza week a memory of a lifetime. We’ll be back for many anniversaries to come!! **Review of Hotel Borgo San Rocco Resort**

Our experience at Borgo San Rocco Resort was nothing short of exceptional. From the very beginning, Francesca, our main contact, was a dream to work with. She was incredibly responsive and attentive to all our needs, wishes, and ideas, offering wise advice and thoughtful suggestions throughout the planning process. We began planning six months before our arrival, and Francesca ensured everything was under control, making us feel like we had their full attention and best wishes for our special evening.

By the time we arrived, every single detail had been meticulously planned, and we only needed a few moments to finalize the last touches. The menu, crafted specially by Chef Francesco, embodied everything an Italian wedding party should be. A standout recommendation is the Cannoli cake – it's a must-try!

The resort itself is beautiful, with stunning rooms and a great pool area perfect for guests to relax. Each night, the kitchen served wonderful Italian dishes that exceeded our expectations.

Although the early season weather in mid-May didn't allow for an outdoor dinner, the evening was still magical, ending with dancing in the streets to the music of Fabrizio De Andre. There is not a single thing we could complain about; our experience at Borgo San Rocco Resort was simply unforgettable.

We organised our wedding at borgo San Rocco at sept 30th 2021.
It was a dream. The location, the staff, the dinner, it was more than we could have ever expected. Our wedding weekend started with a pizza party at the terras upstairs at the restaurant. The wedding dinner and party was downstairs at the pool. At the wedding reception it started to rain and all the staff was really flexible to move the reception inside. They also organised live singers and traditional musicians that all our guests really loved. We would like to thank all the staff that made our wedding weekend to the best! Our guests also loved it. We attend to go back at the borgo every year at our wedding date

Il borgo è posizionato in una delle zone più belle della Sicilia, poco distante da Taormina, Castel Mola, Forza d'Agro.
Nel borgo di Savoca si respira una atmosfera incredibile, location non a caso scelta da registi internazionali, e si gode di una vista mozzafiato.
Quanto al Resort Borgo San Rocco è una location unica, con un servizio al top di categoria. I proprietari così come tutto lo staff garantiscono un servizio impeccabile. Abbiamo festeggiato da loro il nostro matrimonio con un banchetto di circa 100 invitati. I nostri invitati, a distanza di quasi 10 anni, ricordano ancora con stupore e meraviglia la bellezza e l'eleganza di questo posto straordinario.

We got married at Borgo San Rocco Resort in May 2023, and we cannot recommend this venue highly enough. We were able to seamlessly communicate with the hotel in English as everyone spoke excellent English. This made it very easy for us.

Our journey to this beautiful location in Sicily began in October 2022, and from the moment we set foot in the resort, we felt like a part of the family. Francesca was with us every step of the way, fulfilling every wish we had for our special day. Thanks to her excellent organization, we were able to save on hiring a separate wedding planner.

Francesca introduced us to amazing vendors and handled all communication on our behalf, as we didn't speak Italian. We were thrilled with every detail, from the priest and the beautiful church Chiesa Madre di Savoca, to the music (a beautiful string quartet in the church, traditional music during the reception, and a fantastic DJ in the evening), the photographers and videographers, vintage wedding car, delicious wedding cake, the exquisite floral arrangements, and the overall decor. We particularly loved the beautiful string lights at the front courtyard, which they specially installed for us. Francesca even organized babysitters with a bounce house to keep the children entertained. The kids all LOVED it, allowing the parents to enjoy their dinner without worry.

We had a total of 100 guests and celebrated for two days at the resort. The first evening was a delightful pizza party for everyone to get together, and the second day was our wedding. The food, Sicilian wine and service were outstanding. During our visit in October, we had the opportunity to taste all the dishes, and Francesco (the chef) tailored the menu to our preferences. He also accommodated special requests from our guests, considering allergies and dietary restrictions with absolute perfection.
We were able to accommodate approximately half of our guests at the resort itself, but there are several small Airbnbs in the village that offer rooms for rent. This made it easy to house all our guests without any issues. We stayed in the "Bridal Suite," which was a charming tower, and it was perfect for capturing stunning getting-ready photos.
Savoca is a truly magical little mountain village, and it was incredibly convenient that everything was just a few meters away. This meant we could avoid transfers and save time. One of the highlights of the village is the breathtaking view and the tranquility it offers. It was perfect because there weren't many other people or tourists in the village, allowing us to fully enjoy our wedding with our families and friends. Every corner of the village is beautiful, making it perfect for photoshoots.
Savoca is a part of cinematic history, as the all-time classic "The Godfather" was set in this location (wedding scene). This added an extra layer of special significance for us and our guests.

The journey to the location was uncomplicated as well. The nearest airport is in Catania, approximately 80 km away, which is about an hour's drive. We organized a shuttle transfer with small minivans for our guests. Some of our guests rented a car as they extended their stay on the beautiful island of Sicily.
On our wedding weekend, everything went according to plan and even exceeded our expectations! It was the most beautiful day of our lives, and we want to express our heartfelt thanks to the entire team. GRAZIE! We, along with all our guests, fondly remember the wonderful days in Savoca. Our guests enjoyed it so much that they suggested we celebrate our anniversary together in Savoca every year.
