Bonnet House Museum & Gardens is an aesthetically pleasing wedding venue located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and is of both historical and ecological significance. This magical setting with a mansion and lush gardens transports you back in time to the start of the 20th Century. The venue is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and spans 35 acres, offering romantic spaces for events of all sizes. The estate is a truly extraordinary South-Florida venue that is both vintage and elegant.

History

This property has witnessed over 4,000 years of human history. A shell midden was found on the property, believed to date back to 2,000 B.C.E. and to have been created by the Tequesta people. In 1920, Frederic Clay Bartlett established Bonnet House. The artist, who was born in Chicago, received the oceanfront property from his father-in-law when he married Helen Louise Birch. Now, the estate functions as a museum devoted to promoting creativity, learning, as well as historical and environmental preservation. The grounds of the estate are also among the last south-Florida native barrier island habitats. It features five ecosystems, another example of its relevance.

We love bonnet house so much!

Oh Bonnet House, how we love you! Most stunning venue!

Let me start by saying I definitely researched and visited more venues than 99% of brides.
When I first researched I thought their pricing felt high but in retrospect it was 100% worth it because you are essentially getting multiple spaces/venues in one. Guests experience the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception in three different but equally stunning areas and that was a very memorable thing for a lot of our family. Also let’s not mention the most beauuuutiful tropical looking photo areas for your portraits and first look. I can’t praise this place enough.

David, Diana and their team of volunteers were a dream to work with and so patient with our many questions and visits. Choosing Bonnet House is what made our wedding as memorable and wonderful as it was, and I LOVE that we could go back to celebrate future anniversaries there since it’s a museum that we can always visit.

The rain can be stressful with an outdoor wedding ceremony but there are tenting options and for us the payoff of this stunning venue was worth it. We can’t stop singing their praises.
    Thank you Bonnet House team!!

Bonnet House is the most gorgeous venue in all of Fort Lauderdale. Truly spectacular. We had our wedding there three weekends ago and everything was perfect, including the photos! David, Bonnet's events manager, is incredible and very easy to work with. We planned a destination wedding and it was so nice to have David in our corner helping with vendor recommendations and timelines.
