Running Around Downtown
I very rarely leave negative reviews, but in this case I must speak my peace. We hired Blue Ribbon Carriages ONE YEAR in advance of our wedding to make sure we had the Cinderella Carriage reserved for the proper date and time. Our plan was to do a sparkler send-of at our venue and then get dropped off downtown for a carriage ride to our hotel accompanied by our photographers/videographers. This plan turned into a nightmare. When we got downtown after our wedding, Blue Ribbon was no where to be found because Monument Circle was blocked off for another event (we were not contacted about this). My new husband, my Matron of Honor, our Best man, my photographers/videographers, and I proceeded to literally walk all over downtown to try and find this carriage we had already paid for and reserved a year prior. I called the phone number on our reservation confirmation THREE TIMES to no answer. It got to the point where our Best Man was literally chasing down carriages in the streets just to try and get us our promised carriage ride. Not to mention the fact that we had paid our photographers/videographers extra to be there and take pictures of our ride. Eventually, our Best Man tracked one down but they said they didn't have our reservation. Absolutely furious, I proceeded to forward them all my confirmation e-mails and bank statements showing that I had already booked and paid for this ride a year prior. Embarrassed, one of the carriage drivers allowed us to get on and ride; however, we only got to ride for about 15 minutes out of the 25 minutes we paid for. But at that point, we were so exhausted and sweaty from running around downtown and I didn't want my MOH/BM/photographers/videographers to have to stay any longer. Ultimately, it worked out ONLY because we had the best friends and vendors ever. I don't know how a company can completely lose a reservation, neglect to call the client when the location changes, and not provide a refund or any compensation when services are that bad. This was the only hiccup on our wedding day, but what a major hiccup it was. Unprofessional.
