Located in Portland, Oregon, Blue Floral Company creates gorgeous blooms ahead of couples’ weddings and other milestone events. The owner, Katherine Gidlow, is a passionate florist with decades of experience to her name. Through her botanical creations, she hopes to produce designs that match your personality abs style as well as the spirit of your celebrations. All practices at Blue Floral Company are environmentally-conscious as they aim to recycle, compost, and source all of their flowers locally.
Services Offered
Through consultations, Katherine can gather your floral ideas and ensure that they are incorporated within her arrangements. She can also visit your venue to make sure that her creations flawlessly match the site’s aesthetic. She can produce a plethora of arrangements that include your favorite flowers and work in accordance with your chosen color scheme. All finalized creations are delivered to your location, set up, and then taken down at the end of the celebrations. Some of the arrangements offered by Katherine include:

One of the best in the PNW!
WOW, Katherine's vision for the shoot I recently got to partner with her on was just incredible. Aside from being a quality human, she's a quality designer as well. Her execution was quick, her knowledge of her work endless, and the end product was absolutely *gorgeous*. If you are thinking of hiring Katherine as your florist, consider this the sign from the universe you were waiting for!

Beautiful flowers, wonderful person
We met Katherine when we modeled in a photo shoot she provided flowers for, and loved her so much that we booked her for our own wedding. She is so positive, sweet, and genuinely excited for her couples. Our wedding had two brides and due to our different tastes we ended up with one bouquet and one modern floral bracelet, which were both amazing. She also went above and beyond for us; when we had to cancel our original wedding due to the pandemic, she connected us to a friend who helped us throw a beautiful, tiny elopement so our day could still be special. I'd recommend her to anyone!

Incredible floral
One of my favorite aspects of our wedding--and one that we got the most comments on--was the floral.
Katherine at BLUE is visionary and she was my favorite vendor to work with!
Katherine encouraged us to think big when it came to floral (despite neither of us really being floral people!). She asked about what we liked and didn't like between flowers and colors. In understanding the venue and layout, she imagined what the floral design could be. To see it come to life...I was speechless. There was so much thought and detail put into all of it.

The best in town
Katherine and her team continuously go above and beyond. I met with Katherine for a consultation where I felt listened to and heard. We brainstormed various ideas and she provided plenty of creative recommendations and solutions. She was easy to communicate with and had an easy booking process. Fast forward to my wedding day and she blew both myself and all of my guests away. Not only was her work incredibly stunning but she went above and beyond all I could have ever envisioned and produced an entirely eco friendly, zero waste wedding. She elevated the entire experience for my guests and impressed me beyond words. I am so grateful to have met Katherine and highly recommend anybody looking for a true professional.

Let’s talk about Katherine. My wedding was IMCREDIBLE because of her. My venue “the empress estate” failed in so many ways, but Katherine and her company BLUE exceeded ALL of my expectations and gave me a dream wedding I couldn’t have imagined myself. Her whole team rolled in, set up, and took everything down and made my life SO easy. She really understood my vision and made everything come to life. If it wasn’t for her my wedding would have been a complete downer. I booked her on a whim and I am just So So So thankful that I did. She’s professional, fun, and just a blast to work with. When I look back in my wedding day I’m still taken aback at how much effort she put into making sure everything was stunning. You HAVE to book her. She’s The best and even throws in little extra surprises that are super fun! I also work in the industry as a make up artist, so I’ve met a lot of florist. I’d choose Katherine time and time again!

Katherine is AMAZING! She did such a wonderful job for James and I on 8/18/2018. She is flexibility, dependable and such a sweet heart. I was completely blown away by her work and I will always keep her in my mind if I ever need flowers again. Thank you so much Katherine, James and I love you!!!

We had an outdoor wedding and were hoping to get flowers that complimented the surroundings and incorporated a lot of greenery. Katherine was easy to work with from a distance and helped us figure out what we wanted. The day of the wedding she showed up early and made sure everything looked great. Not only did she do everything we talked about, but also helped with some other areas (like our bar) to make the whole space polished and cohesive. Her arrangements were beautiful and exactly what we had hoped for!
