Over the years we dated, my husband and I have shared many lovely afternoons, splitting grilled cheese sandwiches and stealing bites of each other’s dessert at the Bleu Squid. It seemed only fitting to have their cupcakes as the dessert at our wedding. Connie is nothing short of amazing to work with. She is so helpful and patient, very professional and warm. As you can imagine, narrowing down their LONG list of delicious flavors to just a couple involves some indecision, revising, compromising, and rewriting. Anything we needed, Connie was there with ideas and guidance. She came through with a last minute request that pretty much saved the favors for our guests and alleviated a TON of stress for us. When she saw that the cake stand I had purchased for the sweetheart cake was laughably too big, she solved everything without input from me. It is so reassuring to work with a vendor who can anticipate problems and solve them for you while you deal with the other million things that come up on the day. Also, the guests loved having multiple flavors to choose from for dessert! The mini cupcakes were perfect for the kids. In summary: I highly recommend the Bleu Squid, if not for your wedding dessert, then at least for a delicious lunch and post-lunch treat.

Connie and the crew at Bleu Squid are simply amazing! My husband and I knew we were going to book them for our wedding cake and cupcakes before we even did a tasting. We went to the tasting with our best man and matron of honor and it was an amazing time. Connie is so helpful and sweet. And the cupcakes are sweet, too. Not only did Bleu Squid make our Triple Lemon wedding cake and our mini cupcakes for the guests, but we also organized a post wedding brunch for the day after. Connie was more than accommodating helping us reserve tables and create a menu to keep everyone happy.

I couldn’t recommend Bleu Squid enough. We kept raving about them to everyone attending the wedding telling them to go there for breakfast or cupcakes. Thanks again, Connie!!

I can not say enough good things about this bakery! Connie is such a sweet woman, and the cupcakes were absolutely delicious! Our guests loved them!! And we did to! I can not thank them enough!!

We used Bleu Squid bakery for our wedding at the Overlook at Geer Tree Farm on July 8th. Connie at Bleu Squid bakery was simply amazing! We saw a display of her cupcakes at a different wedding last year and knew immediately we had to use her. She was very flexible and patient coordinating with my mom and was a pleasure to work with. The cupcakes and cookies not only were amazing, but they were beautiful and creative!

This bakery did an amazing job with preparing and set up for our wedding. The display was beautiful and everyone raved about our cupcakes. They ever did a cutting cake on top for my husband and I. They had so many flavors to chose from. Everyone loved it. They even delivered! Connie provides so much help in the process that it's a no brainer to select her as the bakery for your wedding or event. I didn't get to try any cupcakes on my big day, so I guess I will have to go back again to their location in Mystic.

Before trying cupcakes from Bleu Squid, we had driven across Rhode Island and Connecticut trying cupcakes from several other highly recommended bakeries. As big dessert lovers, finding delicious cupcakes meant a lot to us. The very moment we tried Bleu Squid's cupcakes, we knew we had found the one. We worked with Connie, the owner of Bleu Squid, to order mini cupcakes and a cutting cake for our wedding at Mystic Aquarium. We met with Connie in person several months before the wedding to book the date and discuss the particulars like cupcake sizes and pricing. We decided to go with mini cupcakes so our guests could try one of each flavor. We emailed Connie closer to the event date to give her our final order. Part of our order included cupcakes to be given to our guests as wedding favors. We found small boxes to fit the cupcakes, and asked Connie if her team could pre-load the boxes and bring them to the event for us. She graciously agreed, which really took a load off of our minds. She arrived early to the venue to set up the cupcakes, cutting cake, and the favor boxes on the cake table. We had a nut allergy concern, and she was able to keep the carrot cake cupcakes (with the nuts) separate from the rest. She set them upon their own layer of the display to make sure they didn't touch the other flavors. This was incredibly thoughtful and much appreciated. We rented the cake tower from Connie, which she brought with her. The Aquarium works with Connie frequently, and they arranged to get the tower back to her after the wedding so we didn't have to worry about it. Overall, working with Connie was a smooth process, her cupcakes are delicious, and we would highly recommend working with her for your wedding.

Connie did a phenomenal job on the cupcakes and small wedding cake for our wedding!!!! The flavors and colors were spot on, and my family and friends just raved about the taste and variety of the cupcakes!!!! I will definitely be recommending Bleu Squid Bakery & Cheese Shop to any of my family/friends in need of bakery services for any event.

The cute little shop is also a great place to stop when you are in the Mystic area for a delicious grilled cheese sandwich!!!!
