My fiance is Jewish and I am Christian, so we were looking for a "liberal" Rabbi to perform an interfaith ceremony for us. Unfortunately, when calling other Rabbis, I was confronted with a lot of disheartening words. I did find a company with retired Rabbis who performed these types of ceremony, but because these Rabbis lived in the Philadelphia and New Jersey area, the travel charges were astronomical - plus they wanted double fees because they couldn't book another wedding on Sunday because of the travel. Finally we found Rabbi Serena, who was basically a blessing to us. She met with us in person and essentially began counseling us. Her fees were very reasonable. She was extremely responsive, always replying to my emails quickly. She sent us a sample ceremony, which we used as a guide to write our own, and we were all very happy with it. She came to our rehearsal, without asking for any extra fees, and basically took charge of it so I didn't have to. She was so organized and logical about everything, everyone just did whatever she said, and the ceremony ran smoothly because of it. I would always recommend her for any Jewish/interfaith event, she is such a pleasure to speak to and be around.
