Bellevue Hall is the ideal choice for elegant, lavish wedding ceremonies and receptions or charming, intimate gatherings and rehearsal dinners amid the towering column entrances, magnificent Formal Garden, sprawling sculpted lawns, stylish dining rooms, elaborate marble fireplaces, sophisticated wood-paneled library, and enormous central foyer with its grand staircase; including a state-of-the-art tent to seat 250. This exquisite must see property offers a diversity of options minutes from I-95 across the PA border!
The originally named, Woolton Hall castle was completed 1855 and occupied by several area turn-of-the-century visionaries as they purchased summer or suburban homes starting back in the mid 1800’s soon after the 1838 completion of the Philadelphia, Wilmington and Baltimore Railway. The duPont Family owned the property from 1893 and made several modifications along the way to eventually become this notable Greek Revival mansion to resemble Montpelier. It was purchased by The State of Delaware in 1976 and became the showpiece of Bellevue State Park; now managed exclusively by Jeffrey Miller Catering.
All of the 2020 brides and grooms understand how stressful it is when it comes to making decisions about their big day, especially during 2020. I was on the verge of postponing my wedding and lost all hope. Then one day I came across Bellevue Hall online, and I decided to take a tour. That was the best decision that I could have ever made!
I will be getting married in October 2020 and decided to switch to an outdoor reception venue in August. You can imagine the stress that I had. Tom Covello came to the rescue! He made me feel as though my voice was heard, the safety of my guests was important, and that he cared about my fiancee and I having a beautiful wedding day. As soon as I met him and saw Bellevue Hall in person, I knew that is where I wanted my guests to celebrate our big day!
When you walk into Bellevue Hall, you feel as though you are in a mansion. The character inside is absolutely stunning! The library with the fireplace is a dream room and there is plenty of room for guests to spread out and move around within this DuPont estate. The bridal suite is spacious and there are plenty of mirrors for hair and make-up touch ups. Walking through Bellevue Hall, I began to imagine myself there in October.
We just signed the contract with JAM catering and Bellevue Hall, and we are so excited. Jeffrey A. Miller has been nothing but accommodating and positive in terms of communication. The food choices they offer are excellent and they were empathetic towards the fast decision that we had to make to switch venues at such short notice. Being a teacher, I am a planner and I like to work with people who have strong communication skills and people who are positive. Tom Covello and Jeffrey A. Miller catering provided that effective communication. I will be on here again in October to update you all on our fabulous wedding at Bellevue Hall.

Cannot wait to get married here!
Bellevue Hall and its team has been an absolute LIFESAVER. About 3 weeks ago, my fiance and I were on the verge of just cancelling our wedding altogether after having to postpone it twice at our original venue. It was hard to remain positive, and we weren't interested in pushing our wedding back anymore.
In comes Tom, the venue manager, and Bellevue Hall!
My sister talked me into going for a tour, but I just wasn't in the wedding mood anymore and didn't have any expectations. As soon as we arrived at Bellevue, much to my surprise, I actually found myself getting exciting about a wedding for the first time in months, and I could immediately envision myself being there the day of my wedding. The outside is gorgeous, with plenty of room and options for set up. The mansion is AMAZING, and I'm so excited to pretend like it's mine for the day of! The downstairs offers several rooms for ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception options. Each room has so much history and character, no extra decor or detail is even needed! The upstairs offers two very impressive "getting ready" areas. The guys will have plenty of room to relax and play pool before the day's events get started, and the space for me and my girls to get hair and makeup done is huge and everything you could ask for! I cannot wait!
Tom has been a blast to work with. His positivity and excitement is infectious, and he has had consistent communication with us since the day we showed interest in Bellevue Hall. Additionally, Tom and his team have been beyond accommodating with doing anything and everything in their power to set up an event that our guests will feel safe and comfortable attending due to the current covid situation. JAM catering has come up with a great guidebook to hosting events during this time, so couples can still have their big day, and guests and staff can remain safe. We'll forever be in debt to Tom, Bellevue Hall, and the JAM team for saving our wedding day! Can't wait for 8/22/2020
Tom and his team at Jeffery A. Miller catering score a 10 out of 10 on every aspect of wedding execution: friendly, detailed, flexible, cost-effective, relatable, highly-communicative, experienced. And not to mention, the venue is absolutely STUNNING. In our opinion, Bellevue Hall is the best value for a wedding venue in the entire tri-state area, and we have more experience looking at venues in PA/DE/NJ/NY than probably 99% of couples. Very reasonable pricing, with a ton of elegance and amenities. We could not possibly recommend this place (and Tom) more than we do.
Here’s the longer story. Planning a wedding during COVID will hopefully be one of the more challenging things my wife and I will do together. Our initial wedding was planned for April 18, 2020, but by mid-march, it was clear that we were going to have to postpone. We postponed to July 12th, feeling fairly confident that this date would be safe. To make a long story short, at different points in the planning process, we were going to have our wedding at three different venues over two different dates (invitations went out for all these). With less than one month until our wedding, we had to change venues, caterers, and almost all of our vendors. This is when Tom Covello and Bellevue Hall came to the rescue! Tom Covello and the Jeffery A Miller team were right there with us, communicating with us multiple times per day EVERY DAY for the 3 weeks leading up to our big day. We planned almost the whole wedding together in that 3 week period. Even when our guests and bridal party were dropping out all the way up until the very day of our wedding due to the ever-changing COVID regulations, wreaking havoc on our plans and seating charts, Tom and his team were there for us every step of the way. Tom, in particular, made our wedding day a possibility. Without Tom, we would NOT have had the wedding that we ended up having. It felt like a true miracle. Nobody thought we could have a normal-sized wedding during COVID. We had 140 people in attendance, and our wedding/reception was just as we wanted. Tom thought of everything and planned so much for us, including negotiating a great deal with a tent company for us and MUCH more. Our ceremony was 100% outside in the gardens, and the reception was primarily under two tents although the inside of the mansion had extra seating available and A/C for those who were feeling too hot. Tom went ABOVE AND BEYOND to keep costs down (my fiance and I had $8K tied up at our previous venue). Tom was also a florist for most of his career and has a real eye for decor and detail. His team was professional and responsive as well. When our wedding planner and Day-Of-Coordinator had to drop out of our wedding 5 days prior to our wedding date, Tom found a new coordinator on the fly and she was FANTASTIC. Her name is Samantha Diedrick and we would ABSOLUTELY recommend her too.
