Bellevue is the perfect location for anyone looking to get married in the Wilmington area. The location is stunning with a great garden area, beautiful manor for the cocktail hour and a permanent tent perfect for larger receptions. We got married here at the beginning of September and despite having to move to the rain plan the JAM team made sure everything looked beautiful in the tent and all of our guests made it everywhere being dry!
Our wedding planner that JAM assigned us, Susan, was incredible. She was very responsive to all our questions leading up to the day and made sure everything went off without a hitch on the day of. All the staff were super friendly and made sure we got to experience all the great food served throughout the day while we were busy with getting married. The dinners were all great and our vegetarian/vegan guests were especially happy with how good the food was.
Highly recommend Bellevue Hall and JAM for a beautiful Delaware wedding! -

The Best Day Ever
We booked our venue at Bellevue Hall and could not have been more thrilled. The service team was outstanding. They were professional and responsive. The pricing was clear and all-inclusive. The venue is beautiful! The bridal suite is stunning. Our guests were blown away by the beauty of the mansion and the ceremony space outdoors. The reception tent was perfect for dancing, eating, and still being able to socialize. The horses were out for the reception and the kids at our wedding loved being able to go and visit them. My favorite part of Bellevue was how cared for we were as a couple. Additionally, our ceremony was held in the space by the stone wall and the walk from the mansion to the wall was long and dramatic. It was super fun! My husband and I could not be more happy with our wedding and we would recommend Bellevue to everyone! BTW we also got married on a Sunday and received 20% off the per person price! -

I couldn’t have picked a more gorgeous venue for my wedding! I had my wedding 2/14/25 and it was the best decision. I still have family talking about how beautiful my wedding was & the food! As soon as I walked up for the tour I knew this was “the one”. The mansion is so unique & beautiful that still carries a lot of history. The bride’s suite is the perfect size & had our own makeup vanities while the grooms had their own suite with pool table and enough space to relax & get ready. We had our reception in the tent & it looked amazing and elegant. It was beyond my expectations for my wedding! I want to point out our coordinator, Susan D., was our angel! She ran the day so smoothly and made sure everything went perfect and communicated to us all day of what was next. She answered ANY/ALL of our questions the months leading up to our wedding date and explained things thoroughly. I will give all the credit to Susan for making my wedding day perfect, I can’t thank her enough. Our tasting went fantastic we enjoyed all the food that was presented to us & on the day of our wedding everyone LOVED their plates. We still have people talk about the food from our wedding to this day, you can taste the quality & freshness of the food! I would absolutely recommend anyone to book their wedding here. It was the perfect day I had always envisioned. -

Bellevue Hall is an extraordinary wedding venue, and we are so excited to have our wedding there! The staff have been incredibly helpful and attentive, ensuring that all details are addressed. The gardens for the ceremony are absolutely gorgeous, and the permanent tent means that we avoid needing to rent a tent, which is so expensive. We love the mansion's history and that we're supporting Delaware State Parks with our wedding! -

My fiancè and I found Bellevue Hall through the knot website. We were looking for an estate venue where we could host our intimate micro wedding. Being from NJ, we could only sort through the tons and tons of ballrooms and found very little individuality.
After a family member suggested we turn our search to Delaware, we were thrilled to find Bellevue Hall as our first choice. Our tour of the grounds was beautiful and very thorough. We booked instantly. JAM hosted a beautiful tasting a few months later where we got to try the entire menu (the food was lovely and tasted so good!) We were more than excited that we booked with JAM. We weren't disappointed by the amazing food even though we were nervous about how it would taste. The venue is customizable. You can literally get married at any space in the estate that is so full and rich with history. We've gotten to customize our table linens, napkins, silverware, and cups. This venue gives Bridgerton vibes with a Pride and Prejudice feel which was what we were looking for! We couldn't be more ecstatic about our summer wedding at Bellevue Hall! -

When my fiancé and I began touring venues in the Philadelphia area we were overwhelmed and often let down that the pictures didn't always match what we saw in person. When we finally toured Bellevue Hall, we knew this was our wedding venue right away. The mansion is refurbished, clean, picturesque, and grand. I am from Delaware, so it was cool to know that Bellevue Hall is a form Dupont estate. The surround areas are green, luscious, and well groomed. I liked that there were options for different focal points for the ceremony. The cocktail hour is on the back patio of the mansion overseeing the surrounds grounds. I am so excited for the reception under the tent with lots of space and poured concrete flooring. I know that this space is transformable and will be great for whatever florals or decor we add. Additionally, I love the options you have at Bellevue for a bad weather plan. Robyn who led our tour was so kind, genuine, and took her time to explain everything and answer all of our questions. Overall, I am so pleased with my experience so far at Bellevue and can't wait for more planning to come. -

We looked at a lot of venues in PA and DE, but ultimately decided on Bellevue Hall because there was so much included and taken care of just by working JAM Catering. They provide an event designer who will be onsite the whole day of the wedding. The staff also is incredibly friendly and caring. A big plus for both the bride and groom are the wonderful getting ready rooms. My bridal party has tons of room to get our hair and makeup done onsite and the guys have a billiards table for entertainment. Recently, TVs have also been installed to keep the group entertained while everyone gets ready. We also are very excited about the food from JAM Catering, as they take everyone's dietary restrictions into consideration while providing a farm-to-table experience. The grounds are also gorgeous in the summer/fall with all the beautiful flowers blooming. -

My fiancé and I fell in love with Bellevue as soon as we did our initial walkthrough. The ambiance Bellevue offers through it’s rich history inside, beautiful gardens outside, as well as the dreamy open air tent had us sold! We are getting married there this September and the entire process has been seamless. The staff at Bellevue Hall/JAM Catering truly want your wedding day to be everything you’ve dreamed of and treat you like family. Bellevue’s Venue Manager and our Event Coordinator, Veronica, has been such a pleasure to work with and has made planning the details feel easy. We cannot wait for our big day in September! -

Bellevue Hall was love at first sight for us. My fiance and I visited over 10 venues in DE and PA and without a doubt knew Bellevue was the one when we walked through it. The grounds are beautiful with a lush garden highlighting the perimeter of the ceremony sight, the inside of the mansion has an attention to detail that will blow you away, and the new tent they have built is lined in dreamy string lighting and provides an open-air experience for guests! We really loved it all. One of the biggest selling points for us was the ability to rent the mansion for the whole day and not have to travel from place to place. We wanted our wedding day to feel like an experience for the bridal party as well as for the guests and that is what Bellevue is giving us! We cannot wait to get married there in 2023 :) -

Tom Covello and his team at Bellevue Hall gave us the wedding beyond our dreams! The wedding was everything ad more than we could ever envision . The staff accommodated our every need, the food was exceptional, the holiday decor was magical, and the event preparation was outstanding. We were truly overwhelmed with gratitude and appreciation for Bellevue's absolute exceptional service. Many family and friends told us after the wedding how beautiful Bellevue Hall was, how impressive the service was, and how the wedding was the most beautiful and intimate wedding ever attended. I cannot praise Tom, Shaylyn, and the entire JAM team highly enough. I decided not to hire a wedding planner, and my husband and I found them helpful, professional, and accommodating during the entire process (especially in dealing with the covid craziness). Because JAM runs the venue and the catering (we also go flowers from them!), we were able to get almost all of the services that we needed done in one shop. And on the day of the wedding, our holiday brunch ceremony and reception at Bellevue Hall could not have been more perfect. The Hall was beautifully decorated, and everyone raved about the food. 10/10 would recommend. -

Absolutely incredible!
The perfect wedding venue. The mansion is so beautiful and provides a unique historical aspect to your special day. You can rent it for the day to get ready there, with separate spaces for the couple. We hosted our ceremony in the garden, but felt safe knowing Tom and team had a weather backup plan. The catering company, Jeffrey A. Miller Catering, provided deliciously fresh, farm-to-table food for our cocktail hour and reception. The tasting was also an amazing experience! Tom was an amazing coordinator and we get so many compliments on our wedding! -

From the very virst time I saw Bellevue Hall Tented reception pictures, I was in love. the pictures, though absolutely gorgeous, DO NOT do this property justice. When we walked into the mansion and explored its historical rooms with Tom, I knew I was in the venue I'd be married at. not only is the property we preserved and so we'll taken care of, but in Tom's hands, you will be taken care of as Bride and Groom. Tom and his team at Jeffery A. Miller catering score a 10 out of 10 on every aspect of wedding execution: friendly, detailed, flexible, cost-effective, relatable, highly-communicative, experienced. And not to mention, the venue is absolutely STUNNING. In our opinion, Bellevue Hall is the best value for a wedding venue in the entire tri-state area, and we have more experience looking at venues in PA/DE/NJ/NY than probably 99% of couples. Very reasonable pricing, with a ton of elegance and amenities. We could not possibly recommend this place (and Tom) more than we do.
Here’s the longer story. Planning a wedding during COVID will hopefully be one of the more challenging things my wife and I will do together. Our initial wedding was planned for April 18, 2020, but by mid-march, it was clear that we were going to have to postpone. We postponed to July 12th, feeling fairly confident that this date would be safe. To make a long story short, at different points in the planning process, we were going to have our wedding at three different venues over two different dates (invitations went out for all these). With less than one month until our wedding, we had to change venues, caterers, and almost all of our vendors. This is when Tom Covello and Bellevue Hall came to the rescue! Tom Covello and the Jeffery A Miller team were right there with us, communicating with us multiple times per day EVERY DAY for the 3 weeks leading up to our big day. We planned almost the whole wedding together in that 3 week period. Even when our guests and bridal party were dropping out all the way up until the very day of our wedding due to the ever-changing COVID regulations, wreaking havoc on our plans and seating charts, Tom and his team were there for us every step of the way. Tom, in particular, made our wedding day a possibility. Without Tom, we would NOT have had the wedding that we ended up having. It felt like a true miracle. Nobody thought we could have a normal-sized wedding during COVID. We had 140 people in attendance, and our wedding/reception was just as we wanted. Tom thought of everything and planned so much for us, including negotiating a great deal with a tent company for us and MUCH more. Our ceremony was 100% outside in the gardens, and the reception was primarily under two tents although the inside of the mansion had extra seating available and A/C for those who were feeling too hot. Tom went ABOVE AND BEYOND to keep costs down (my fiance and I had $8K tied up at our previous venue). Tom was also a florist for most of his career and has a real eye for decor and detail. His team was professional and responsive as well. When our wedding planner and Day-Of-Coordinator had to drop out of our wedding 5 days prior to our wedding date, Tom found a new coordinator on the fly and she was FANTASTIC. Her name is Samantha Diedrick and we would ABSOLUTELY recommend her too. -

Tom Covello, the wedding coordinator for this venue was an absolute doll to work with. He is spunky and a seasoned wedding planner. He is so passionate about this STUNNING property. My husband and I fell in love with this manor the second we walked in. Jeffrey A Miller has restore this manor and the attention to detail and beautiful is breath taking.
There is space for the bridal party and the groomsmen to get ready separately. Plenty of room for dancing and food and eating and drinking. The grounds are stunning. Everything is beautiful. The layout provides a great mingling atmosphere for guests to enjoy and explore.
This experience was wonderful and almost completely stress free. This group and venue make your dream wedding a reality. -

The ceremony didn't require much decor from us as all the flowers were in bloom which made for beautiful photos. The mansion has a ton to offer those who rent it as well, you have the 2nd floor with more than enough room to get ready I had 12 people in my wedding party. Nine of which were girls, and no one was tripping over anyone else. I would book this venue for another event any day! Highly recommend it if you are looking for something that already has character. -

Meg Sent on 07/01/2014I am so happy we chose this unique venue for our wedding reception. All of our guests loved exploring the house, and said what a unique wedding site it was. The staff at Bellevue State park is so nice and are very easy to work with, and it was also an excellent location for our wedding photos. If you do select Bellevue as your reception site, I would also recommend Bixby Caterers - Lisa Bixby was so knowledgeable and helpful, and our guests loved the food! -

Bellevue is a gorgeous venue at the historic mansion with a gorgeous outside tent for receptions. I got the privilege of attending a wedding there before my own and it was great to experience it as a guest. Jam is super organized, they have a great rain plan, and the food is delicious. We had our group tasting recently and the food was amazing. It was hard to choose. I’m so excited for our wedding coming up this April. Our coordinator has helped us step by step and the all inclusive experience has taken a lot of stress and pressure off of the two of us. -

Unbelievably Beautiful Wedding Weekend!
We loved Bellevue Hall on our first visit, and our wedding coordinator, Tom made it so special and personal for us! Bellevue allowed us to customize so much about our wedding day and they made our ideas a reality! We utilized Buttercup, the JAM Floral Partner, for our decor and they made the space look so incredibly beautiful, even better than we could have imagined! They brought our classic and rustic dreams to life, and our guests could not stop complimenting the decor. The food was also incredible, seasonal and fresh, and catered to our guests' strict dietary restrictions very well. Our guests could not get over how good the food and the desserts were! All in all, our expectations were greatly exceeded for our wedding day, and we are so happy to have been able to work with JAM Catering at Bellevue Hall! -

We could not be happier that we decided to get married at Bellevue Hall. It was the most perfect day and the venue was stunning! From the beautiful bridal suite getting ready rooms, the outdoor ceremony in the garden, cocktail hour on the patio by the house, and the beautiful outdoor tent for the reception that offered the best dance floor. Our guests could not stop raving about how beautiful everything was and said it was the best wedding ever! The food was delicious, the JAM team was great, and we absolutely loved Meg, our event coordinator that day. Bellevue Hall and Jeffrey Miller Catering gave us the most spectacular wedding that we dreamed of! Veronica and her team planned an amazing wedding. They were sometimes hard to get a hold of and a few minor details on the day were not what we had planned, which is the only reason I took off a star. However the end result was so worth it! The venue was so beautiful for our unique fall catholic garden ceremony. It was followed by amazing food and drinks at our cocktail hour and reception. Our guests raved about the food and our signature drink and had an amazing time! Thank you so much to everyone who made our wonderful wedding happen! -

This was our second venue we visited and after the first we were feeling low and worried about whether or not we were going to find the right place for us. Once we got to Bellevue, we both had that ah hah moment! When we left the visit we looked at each other and both said “we love it!” We could both see the vision and it made us so excited to move forward in this **stressful** process. Veronica met us with enthusiasm and knowledge that helped us make the decision to go with Bellevue. She was the embodiment of joy and it all just felt so right. Our recent wedding at Bellevue Hall was even more perfect than we could have imagined.
We booked our May 2023 wedding back in September 2021 and honestly had decided to look at Bellevue Hall simply because it was so convenient to our home --- we literally walk our dog in Bellevue State Park quite frequently. We really didn't expect to fall in love with it the way that we did, but it really checked all of our boxes. We loved that we could plan a beautiful outdoor garden ceremony, but they still offered an equally beautiful rain plan inside the gorgeous mansion. We loved the gigantic bridal and groom suites with perfect natural light and gorgeous decor. We loved that our cocktail hour could utilize both the outdoor patio and the first floor rooms of the beautiful mansion. We loved that the tent has a permanent floor and comes with decorative lights and chandeliers. We especially loved that the Delaware location allows it to be tax free! After our initial walkthrough, we really knew that Bellevue Hall was the right choice for us.
The planning process was a bit challenging due to staffing changes within the venue and at JAM. Our primary contacts switched multiple times, and at times it was challenging to get in contact with someone. We were lucky to have our own wedding planner who was persistent in her follow-up calls and in making sure none of our details were missed, so it did work out, and our eventual assigned JAM planner, Nicole, was very sweet.
Our actual wedding day was perfect, and the mansion and flowering gardens were the perfect backdrop for our ceremony. Our tent looked beautiful as well. I can't wait to see our full gallery of photos from our photographer.
Bellevue Hall works exclusively with JAM Catering whose food was one of the highlights of the evening. It was important to us to offer food that was flavorful, not boring, and they really delivered. Our hors d'oeuvres were delicious, our custom Rhubarb Gin Fizz signature drink was delightful, and our entrees were well cooked and well seasoned. I especially appreciated that they offer a variety of unique vegetarian entrees --- the black bean cake was scrumptious and so much better than the bland cheese pasta I've seen at other weddings. They also included our cake in the package, which was both beautiful and delicious.
All in all, we were very happy with our choice to get married at the gorgeous Bellevue Hall. -

book. this. place. The setting and venue is beautiful and the food is delicious, but the management takes the cake. As with any event planning, my fiance and I have run into a few issues. The management, however, have been incredibly kind, gracious, and encouraging. With Bellevue, you will get the best venue, food, and management. I cannot recommend them enough. -

If you are planning a Delaware wedding, Bellevue is a must-see! The ceremony site has a big beautiful tree, a gazebo, and a long, dramatic bridal entrance. Your guests get to have cocktail hour inside the rooms of the estate and spilling out onto the patio. There is even a climate-controlled tent for an outdoor (but weather friendly) reception! What more could a wedding guest want? -

Beautiful Venue but Wedding Coordinator Needed
The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous and every guest commented on how beautiful and unique it was. The pictures are also phenomenal but if you’re planning to have your wedding here you need to make sure you are on top of your game because they say theres an event coordinator but they are of no help at all. I never even met the event coordinator and honestly, there was barely any communication from them; way too hard to get ahold of. So if you’re a bride like me- on top of everything and used to throwing major events like this- then book Bellevue as is! If you’re not, I 100% recommend hiring a wedding coordinator to make sure your event runs smoothly throughout the day and can keep everything on time and on track. Our caterer was very easy to work with: Brandywine Catering, we really enjoyed working with Ted and with Kevin from Action Events(we rented a tent for dinner). They met us onsite a month before the wedding to go over all of the details which was incredibly helpful, again, the event coordinator wasn’t present at this meeting OR the day of our wedding. All in all we had an amazing wedding, the food was great and the mansion is just so beautiful as is so no additional décor was needed. We are so happy we choose Bellevue as our wedding venue.Bellevue Hall's reply:

Maria Sent on 08/11/2023Despite the Glowing Reviews, Our Experience was the Contrary
We selected Bellevue Hall for the Venue itself. It was perfect for a garden wedding, with a beautiful interior should the weather bring us indoors.
We were then sold on JAM's self-proclamations of professionalism and impeccable service. The pricing was very high, but the mansion and grounds hooked us. We booked our June 2023 wedding in March of '22.
We heard from the accounting department frequently. They definitely wanted their money! But we never heard from our coordinator. About 5-6 months before our wedding, I reached out to JAM to find out what was happening. Turns out our coordinator retired, her assistant left the company... and our wedding was completely overlooked.
We were promised from that point forward, they would give our wedding priority and we would quickly forget the oversight.
But, that was certainly not the case. I often had to chase our coordinator for information and updates. Emails would often go unanswered. And when my emails were answered, responses were often vague and missing the information I requested.
I was not a stressed or anxious bride, but dealing with JAM definitely stressed me out!!
Then... And this was maddening 😡... (Read to the end) Their final invoice included additions that we had scrapped months prior (obviously there was a breakdown in communication between the coordinators and accounting). I called accounting, had those items removed and received a revised invoice. I approved an ACH withdraw for the revised amount and was emailed a payment confirmation days before our wedding.
ON THE MORNING OF OUR WEDDING (this was the maddening part😡), I am sitting in the bridal suite, getting my hair done and the phone rings. Its the JAM accounting department informing me that our ACH didn't go through and I needed to send the payment asap. I was distraught wondering what happened to our money-was it lost in cyberspace?... was it stolen?... and how I could go about getting them the payment while I'm getting ready for the ceremony? Then it hit me, "I bet they tried to draft for the over-billed, incorrect amount" I only had enough money in the wedding account to fund the revised final invoice. The man on the phone checked, and sure enough... it was JAM's error. So... instead of doing his research before he picked up the phone, he pestered me for money while I was getting ready to walk down the aisle.
It was that moment that I decided I would write this review and let potential couples know about our experience.
BONUS😡: I also received an email two days before the wedding requesting over $2000 in gratuities for a multitude of staff members I had ZERO interaction with.
Sooo... despite the good food and our guests enjoying the venue and event, I am not a fan and would not recommend this caterer.
