Seriously though… I truly live for real smiles. If you were to chat with any one of my previous couples and ask them one thing that they remember about our experience working together, I would bet my Golden Girls memorabilia collection it would be that I got them to laugh. I can't even guess at the number of times I've heard one of my couples describe themselves as “awkward”. Challenge accepted! I love awkward, I love shy, I love a chatty social butterfly or a stoic Ron Swanson. I love it all. Most of all, I love the opportunity to explore and find the thing that produces the natural smiles reflected in the images you see throughout my galleries.
I'm not sure if it's my avid knowledge of Golden Girls or The Office trivia, my ability to act like a goofy fun loving kid and twirl my couples around or just trying to dig deeper into what makes your love story unique. I have always had a knack for making people feel oddly comfortable. I truly believe this is part of the reason why my images look so natural. Whether I have known you my entire life or we just met for the first time heading into your engagement session, I can promise you that by the end of our shoot, you will feel like we’ve been friends for years. I'm gonna get ya!
I love making people smile and the connections shared between a couple. I love that I still get giddy excited for every single wedding this far into my career. I am someone who has always felt awkward being in front of a camera, but Jill's calming disposition boosted my confidence and made me feel so beautiful during our engagement session and on our wedding day. The first time my husband and I saw the photos, we melted! We got our preview pictures from Jill in a few short days, which was so quick! My husband and I got the luxury of going through them together on the beach on our honeymoon, and cried all over again at all of the special moments Jill captured. I am still in awe of how filled with love and light the photos are. Jill captured our most intimate and candid moments beautifully, and we are happy to have these photos that will last a lifetime. We have known Jill through various weddings my wife and I have been in/attended, and we knew from the start that our day wouldn't be the same without her and her amazing team! We literally booked Jill before we found a venue... best decision ever.
From the start she not only is professional and helpful throughout the planning process (providing suggested shot lists, consistent meetings to answer questions, planning, etc.), she is also the easiest person to ever work with. Although my wife looks like one, neither of us are professional models - but Jill made poses and natural shots feel so effortless and easy - and this shows so perfectly in her amazing photos. She made us laugh and kept our energy high throughout the entire wedding day (it’s a long day, the value of this cannot be overstated).
I’ll end on this… Personally, photos were the most important aspect of wedding planning. Call me sentimental, but photos of this day are something I will cherish the rest of my life, so it was really important to me that we find the best photographer we could. And Jill was that and then some.
