I used Ashimoto for my wedding after a friend recommended them. Meryl is very sweet, helpful, and accomodating, especially when I had to change the location for the make-up artist to meet a couple of weeks before the wedding. Paula did my make-up and Caitlyn did my mom and cousin. Everyone looked gorgeous and the make-up lasted all day and night without needing any touch-ups. Paula and Caitlyn were incredibly nice and personable as well. I would highly recommend them both.

Meryl was referred to me by my maid of honor/ cousin who had previously received her services in the wedding of her sister in law. She came highly recommended from someone I trust dearly.
I was a California bride who was getting married in NJ. Meryl and I spoke many times via phone and I instantly loved her. The first time I met Meryl ( make up) and Tracy ( hair), they were open to my style and vision. Being more of your California hippie/ yuppie/ free spirit, I was unsure if they could meet my need of the " all natural bohemian vibe". We had a trail back in April while I was back East. I had a small window of time before I needed to fly back out West, which they graciously accomodated for my mother and I.
Personally I loved her and her ability to connect even though I was not her "typical/ average bride. ". Ironically, I instantly became connected to her team.
They were open to my ideas of the non traditional norm (and what we requested). After my trial I had some things I wanted adjusted. Meryl and Tracy were so open and receptive. After some phone calls, emails, pictures, they made a plan and TOTALLY nailed it. I couldn't have been happier with my hair and make up and either could my family and maid of honor. I love these two ladies, they also brought such amazing energy the morning of the big day as things were hectic. If I lived closer I would use them frequently. They ROCK, and she gave me recommendations for a DJ, from Pure Events Group.. who we hired and loved. Meryl and Tracy made my day and made me feel like the most beautiful and natural bride I aspired to be.

Meryl at Ashimoto was amazing to work with! I was having trouble finding the perfect makeup artist for my wedding and had a few trials with other potential artists but just was not 100% convinced they had enough bridal experience. The makeup the others had done looked nice in person but photographed horribly. I wanted someone with experience and who knew how to apply makeup that would last and photograph well. My sister recommended having a trial with Meryl, who had done her bridal makeup in 2003. Meryl responded quickly to my emails and phone calls and even though I was an out of state bride, she was able to work around my schedule to set up a trial for my next trip to NJ. She was very accommodating and sweet. I loved her work and felt confident that she could provide the best service so I went ahead and booked her. On the wedding day, she did not disappoint. She did the makeup for me, 4 of my bridesmaids, and my mom. She worked efficiently and was very pleasant and calming. All the girls loved her work. My mom does not wear a lot of makeup and was worried that she wouldn’t look like herself. Meryl was very patient with her and gave her the “natural” look that she wanted while still making her look pretty and “made up.” Everyone looked gorgeous. She gave me exactly the look I was going for, even switching it up slightly from the trial due to the rainy weather and her opinion of what would last better through the day/night. The next morning, my makeup was still perfectly intact! My photos came out gorgeous. There was no “ghosting” or rub off like I had experienced with other makeup artists. You will not be sorry if you book Meryl for your makeup needs! A lot of artists can make you look really pretty, but not everyone can make it last and photograph well. There is definitely an art to it and experience is everything when it comes to makeup!

I had my wedding yesterday at naninas in the park. Meryl is phenomenal and I cannot say enough great things about her. From the time I spoke to her on the phone to the time of meeting her I knew she was going to be great. So down to earth and extremely talented. She created the image everyone of my bridesmaids wanted. My makeup was absolutely stunning and she is 100 percent right in everything she recommended. She told us you want your makeup a certain way or certain color for pictures and she was right because everyone's pictures we have seen our makeup is flawless! My mother and mother in law wanted more natural lighter makeup looks and she created that beautifully for them. Extremely talented makeup artist and I look forward to coming to her in the future! Thankyou for making us all feel extremely beautiful on my wedding day!

Meryl and Tracy did our hair and makeup for the my spring wedding at the Park Chateau. I am not a very glamorous, makeup heavy person and was very nervous about having anyone do my makeup for the wedding. Meryl was very easy to work with, and very creative. I showed her photos of what I wanted and she helped to emphasize my bright skin and big eyes. While some makeup artists might just cover up features, she really highlighted and emphasized my natural beauty. And I am so thankful with the results. I looked gorgeous and love the photos. My hair was done by Tracy and was GORGEOUS! And my mother in laws got their hair and makeup done as well and looked gorgeous. All in all, the ladies did an exceptional job. It was definitely pricey, about $1400 for 12 services including bride. However, in all the services were exceptional. We recommend Ashimoto to all Park Chateau brides.

My family has used Ashimoto for several occasions and have never been disappointed! Meryl takes pride in her work and is a true artist. Susie was our hair stylist...so efficient and creative. I absolutely loved my hair and makeup for my wedding. My maid of honor and the moms look sensational. So many compliments and our photos came out amazing! I had a great experience and will continue to use them!

I loved the girls at Ashimoto! They did a phenomenal job on my hair and makeup and helped work around my crazy schedule and with my 2 babies running around. I highly recommend them!

I made a last minute change to my stylist (by last minute I mean about 2 weeks before the wedding). I was in complete panic mode until I spoke to Meryl. She put me at ease before we even met. I went for my trial a week before the wedding. Meryl did my makeup and Naomi (owner of Cranford Hair Company) did my hair. OMG I was so pleased with both women!!! They listened to me and put together the perfect look. The day of the wedding they were both early (had to get started at 6am at the hotel) and they both worked very quickly. The quality of work was amazing. I never felt so good in my life and all the girls in the bridal party looked awesome. Both Meryl and Naomi are MASTERS of their respective crafts. Plus they are just awesome women to be around. :)

I had Meryl for makeup and Eva for hair on the day of my wedding for 11 people- and wow what a fantastic job they did! Everyone loved them, and they made everyone look beautiful! They were on time (6am!), and stayed until we were ready to go- doing last minute touch ups to make everything perfect. My airbrushing was flawless, and my hair exquisite.

We all loved them, and I would highly recommend them to any bride who does not want to worry about hair and makeup on their wedding day!

If I ever have to get my make-up done for ANYTHING again I will be asking Meryl and her team at Ashimoto to help me. I LOVED the way that I looked and all of the girls in my wedding party did as well. Meryl is kind, down to earth and on top of her game so that you never need to worry about having her with you on a high stress day.
