Our Wedding

We got married and had our wedding reception at Hotel Arya, what a dream come true!!!! Carolyn and her team were absolutely AMAZING!!!! Carolyn, Ana, Gus, and Susett were all a pleasure to work with!!! Carolyn is truly an angel and made all our visions and dreams come true for our wedding weekend at Hotel Arya!! She was always so professional, patient, kind and willing to accommodate to all our needs and ideas for the wedding. The wedding was an absolute dream! The food was delicious, the ballroom was perfect, having the outside terrace during the reception was amazing over looking Coconut Grove! It could not have gone any better! Our suite for the wedding night was jaw dropping!!!!! Thank you again to Carolyn and her team! Best weekend of my life!!!!!

Katie Nelson and her team made my wedding a huge success! The second I saw the venue and the view from the terrace, I knew this would be my wedding venue. The staff was fantastic, the food was delicious and the space was a perfect size for my wedding. Marty was so helpful with my room block as well. Everything turned out perfect! Thank you!!

From start to finish, Katie, Frank, and their entire team were so accommodating and helpful. I never had to worry about one thing. The entire weekend was a dream! From walking in and smelling the classic green tea aroma, to watching the sunset over beautiful coconut grove, I couldn’t have asked for a better venue!

Ceremony:
An outdoor balcony/terrace area overlooking the marina. It gets a bit windy but that didn’t detract from the moment! Just a little hard for the guests to hear! Smooth transition into the cocktail hour which was half outside, half inside.

Reception:
Stunning! The food (we chose salmon, chicken and vegetarian) was probably the best food I’ve had, not just at weddings! Wish I had a chance to eat more! Our guests could not stop gushing about how amazing the food was, still to this day! The reception ballroom fit us all perfectly and was not too big or spacious, if anything a little snug but you’d rather have that than an empty feeling!

Bathrooms were so clean and tidy and the large stall was big enough to fit me, my dress, and 4 bridesmaids all at once!

Sunday Brunch in the bay room served our purposes perfectly! Guests were able to drop by and wish us well while overlooking the water.

I wanted to wait until I received my wedding pictures to give the Sonesta a review but I guess there's no option for pictures here so I waited in vain.

I'll start by saying that I do not live in Miami, and planning a wedding from another state is complicated and incredibly frustrating. After traveling down to look at the venue we were eventually going to go with, I was shocked to learn it was nothing like I envisioned. Six months to my actual wedding I had to frantically start looking at places within our budget and luckily found the Sonesta. This place is absolutely gorgeous and truly truly affordable considering the city. Katie was the most helpful and patient coordinator on the planet and Marty as well. There were no "hidden fees" or costs that popped up to surprise you later on. They were extremely transparent and always there to accommodate my requests and sometimes, quite annoying questions. That area for the cocktail hour was a complete dream. EVERYTHING came out beautifully and honestly I could not believe the affordability at a moment when I thought for sure I'd be doomed to a cheesy banquet hall wedding.

Words can't express how grateful I am for the staff at the Soonest! Katie Nelson, is amazing, sweet, caring and on top of every detail. The Sonesta is very accommodating and flexible to what the bride and Groom want. Frank Ruiz from catering was also very detailed oriented and super attentive of us the entire night and through the entire process. I had my ceremony on the rooftop, my cocktail hour, and my reception all at the Sonesta. I would not change one thing! If I had to do it all over again I would not change a thing! it was an epic night thanks to all the individuals involved! The food was amazing, the views are spectacular and as I said the staff was above and beyond! I cant thank them enough! I also had my room block there and my guest enjoyed it so much, it was like a mini vacation!

Katie at the Sonesta was so sweet and accommodating. She and her team catered to our needs and provided excellent service. Our ceremony in the terrace overlooking the bay was so beautiful and the ballroom where reception took place had such amazing views all around. The food was perfect! My guest are still talking about the wedding.

My husband and I had our reception at the Sonesta Coconut Grove Miami. It was the best decision my husband and I could've made for our wedding. The lobby is beautiful and modern; it makes a lasting impression when you (and your guests) first walk in. Now, move your way up to the 8th floor where there's the Panorama Restaurant, well-kept bathrooms, the Grove View Terrace, and the ballrooms. One thing I loved about this venue is that there is only one event going on at a time. With that being said, the 8th floor is really for you and your guests to enjoy.

We had planned for our cocktail hour to be outdoors at the Grove View Terrace. It's a large terrace with gorgeous views of the bay and the city. My cocktail hour, however, was moved to the Grove Ballroom because of very windy/cold weather. The Grove Ballroom was with no disappointment, though. It was very classy and was large enough to accommodate all of my guests. The Biscayne room is where we had dinner and partied. Everything was beautiful. You could see the city and bay and as a bonus, there's outdoor patio space. Since I wanted to do everything I can to get optimal dance time, I asked Katie to have the salads already set on the table when the guests enter the room. We moved through out first dances and speeches, and dinner was served. We had 2 options. Chicken, red skinned mashed potatoes, and string beans, or salmon with jasmine rice, and asparagus. Honestly, they were way better than I was expecting hotel food to taste like. During dinner, instead of having the champagne toasts, we had white and red wine passed out. After dinner, the DJ got everyone on the dance floor and everyone had the time of their lives. I never saw a line at the bar and the liquor included in our package worked well for our guests. Everyone still complements us on how amazing things were. There was nothing we would have changed at all and I wish I could go back to that night!

Erin D'Elia and the staff at the Sonesta Hotel were absolutely AMAZING!!! Erin is the event coordinator at the hotel and I thought her job was limited to simply getting my husband and I sold on the hotel. Not at all!!! I had a wedding planner who was so terrible and unreliable, Erin stepped in and helped me every step of the way up until my wedding day. From getting price quotes, to recommending a great hair stylist, to decoration suggestions, she was absolutely PHENOMENAL!!!!
The chef at the hotel was very open to trying out new things, so when my husband and I told him we were looking for a meal to serve our guests that was custom to Trinidad, he immediately went to work. Our guests LOVED the appetizers and the main course!!! Overall I couldn't have done it without the help of Erin and the staff at the Sonesta Hotel. She needs a raise!

I stayed here on my wedding night and had my farewell brunch in the beautiful Bay Room. This place was FANTASTIC! I would recommend them for any event, from bridal shower to the wedding itself to farewell brunch. Eliana and Francy were wonderful to work with and took care of every little detail. For the farewell brunch, the room was beautiful, the food was displayed wonderfully, the service was impecable, and all of the food tasted awesome. Sonesta staff really went above and beyond and we could not have been happier. On our wedding night, they surprised us with champagne and strawberries in our room. The price was quite reasonable and the quality was impressive. I hope I can have another event here sometime.
