My wife and I spent a lot of time interviewing photographers to find who would be best to capture the moments and memories of our wedding. April stood out as a photographer that understood when to find the genuine moments and when to direct us for a photo. On the day of she absolutely delivered! She never got in the way, but was always nearby and ready to get the spontaneous moments. Not to mention, the photos are absolutely amazing! Definitely, the best money spent at the wedding was for her services. We have several of her photos already printed and hung up on the walls. Thank you for risking your safety to get photos of us in traffic!!!!

April and her assistant did a wonderful job taking the most memorable photos we could have ever asked for! She captured the pure essence of the wedding itself- with lots of candid shots and glamorous wedding party photos. 10/10 would recommend to anybody!

We feel so honored to have had April shoot our wedding! We got married back in May and she was fantastic! Wedding planning can be so stressful, but she made the photography portion easy and stress free, from the initial consultation to the day of the wedding. April has a gift of making the people she photographs feel so relaxed and at ease. I had guests go out of their way to tell me how nice and fun the she was as she walked around taking photos throughout the night. Our photos turned out amazing and exactly the style we were hoping for! We truly appreciate the beautiful memories she has preserved for us. I can't recommend April enough!

April was wonderful! She answered all our questions and knew just what to look for and had some great recommendations and ideas. Her communication was excellent, her presence a charm and her photos remarkable.

April was the wedding photographer for my wedding, and she was absolutely amazing. She gave a rapid response time and helped us feel highly comfortable our entire wedding. She took some of the most beautiful photos, and now they are up in our home and our families homes :) She took personal pictures of us and candid pictures of all the guests. It was like she existed, but she also didn't. She didn't disrupt the wedding in any wayy but somehowgota photo of not only every critical moment but also every guest. We could not recommend her enough :)

We live in Chicago & planned our wedding ourselves. After a consultation, we hired April less than 6 weeks out from our family backyard wedding in Portland. We are so grateful we were able to work with her! April's expertise and creative guidance was key to getting our amazing photos. She had a vision! Her suggested outdoor location for couples' photos was stunning, and you'd never know how much wind we were fighting just by looking at the photos. April was so patient and flexible with our family members and the last-minute changes to the ceremony. Since we planned it ourselves, we were beyond stress, but April was so calm and kind with clear directions. She also capitalized on the variety of photo backgrounds in our family's incredible backyard, and we are so pleased. Thank you, April!

April photographer our wedding last year and she was beyond professional. Her style of photography is so unique too, which left us with not just your basic cookie cutter wedding photos. We received our edits back in a timely manner and she was quick to answer any questions we had along the way. I would HIGHLY recommend April for wedding be engagement photos!

Several months have passed since April promised to refund us the 75% we requested as recompense for failing at every level to deliver on contractual promises. For context, I am a creative director with a long history of assisting and directing shoots, including wedding shoots. My complaints are objective and contractual. Here is the short list: 1. Almost every single photo is shot at a strange angle, making it impossible to straighten in post-editing without cutting off body parts.  2. There is only ONE photo of me walking down the aisle, barely any during vows (which lasted 20 mins), & very few during rings (we did a hand-wrapping ceremony so there was time!!) . 3. Every photo is either dark & grainy or blown out. For the record, no wedding photographer should ever use a flash. They should have soft lighting and reflectors. Had I known this was her plan, I would have run. You should, too. 4. Unlike the contract promised, she did not deliver high resolution photographs. The res. is only high enough for web, not for print. If I wanted photos just for social media, I wouldn’t have paid thousands of dollars and chosen film photography. 5. Also contrary to our contractual agreement, the photos were not edited. DO NOT BE FOOLED when she says ‘colorization’ is the same thing as editing. ‘Colorizing’ is a standard step at film-processing facilities and is absolutely not the same thing as photo-editing. It has to do with the film and light balance to ensure continuity of PRINTING. Not a single photo was edited by April or a third party. 6. Half of the film footage did not turn out. She had no explanation for this. 

But we are reasonable people. Even though April failed to deliver on every level, I didn’t want her to be out of pocket on her time and for materials. So I offered for her to keep the value of $125/hour for labor plus the cost of her materials. What remained was 75% of the total, which, with professional photographers, usually accounts for the massive amount of time spent editing: time April did not spend. She agreed, recognizing the failure. She told us she would return the money if we signed an agreement promising not to pursue additional damages in the future. We were all set to sign, and then, when we read the fine print, discovered that she had slipped in a section about how we promised to never talk about or write about the experience.

We were totally bowled over by this. First, we never agreed to this. Second, as people to whom ethics is very important, we would never trade rightful recompense for silence. Third, even if we could be silenced this way, hush money is a separate agreement from a refund related to services not rendered. When we kindly expressed our disappointment, and requested that line be removed, she began ghosting us. Every time I followed up, there was either total silence or a lame excuse. Eventually, she stopped responding. When I reached out on social media, she claimed she had missed our emails because she had changed her email. That was a lie. I checked. 

Things happen. We’re human. That’s why we offered for her to keep 25%. But she has treated us with indignity for months. We have no photos to show for the wedding I’ve waited my adult life for (first marriage at almost 40) and complete silence now from her. It’s unconscionable. Run.
