Friend/photographer/wedding expert extraordinaire

We are so happy we chose Andy to capture our wedding. We knew we loved his work before we met him but we couldn't have known what a delightful person he is to be around and how much he would add to our wedding day. He was super patient with us as we acclimated to being photographed a lot (probably not one of our major talents beforehand!) and actually made what previously seemed awkward or uncomfortable really easy and natural. His easygoing and festive vibe meshed perfectly with our friends and family the day-of; he was totally our advocate the whole day and made us feel super relaxed. And, yes, the photos are stunning and we can't wait to make an album and frame every one. There are so many "candids" that actually perfectly capture a whole relationship or moment. We're grateful to Andy for all the work he put into making sure we will have beautiful images of our freaking awesome wedding forever. Thank you!

Stunning photos, amazing experience!

If you want the most fun photographer experience and some of the best photos you'll ever see, you must book Andy Shepard! We worked with Andy for our engagement photos and our wedding photos and couldn't recommend him more. He made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera, made us laugh, and just captured the best moments between us. During our wedding, he got right in the middle of the dance floor and really immersed himself in the experience. I highly recommend booking Andy for any of your photo needs!

Truly the best

Where do we even begin talking about how incredible Andy Shepard is. Beyond all his perfect reviews and incredible portfolio, I am just another person echoing how Andy is the person you want to have and trust with your wedding.

Andy is professional, technical, patient, kind, and just an all around good guy. We interviewed a few photographers and Andy stood out immediately. He was genuine, organized, and anytime we started to worry about wedding-day “what-ifs”, we said “Andy Shepard will take care of it”. And he did!!!

My husband is a photographer and was immediately impressed with Andy’s knowledge, equipment, and energy. I wanted true color photos, and Andy’s photos are timeless and gorgeous.

Thank you for everything Andy. We are so lucky we found you.

Amazing photos. Amazing person.

Andy was actually recommended to us by my now brother-in-law who is an amateur photographer. He sent out a Facebook post to one of the groups he was in to ask for portfolios and Andy’s made a huge statement. Before meeting Andy, we interviewed two other photographers – both had great portfolios but we didn’t quite click. In meeting with Andy, it took us less than 10 minutes to know that he was our photographer, because not only were his photos amazing – but he is super personable, friendly and just all around fun to be around. In just our quick meeting over pizza and beer, he was able to write down a rough timeline for the day including who would need to be where and when they needed to be available. We had previously had no idea what we were doing, and Andy swooped in with his professional experience to help guide us. Fast forward several months and our April wedding got cancelled because of COVID – however we knew that whatever we were going to do in place of that day, we wanted Andy to be there to take our pictures. He was so gracious in working with us amidst ever changing plans and health policies and was game to do whatever worked. After what felt like a million date changes, the day came and Andy made sure that everyone felt safe according their own personal preferences and needs. He also used all of his creative knowledge and expertise to create photos that reflected closeness with friends and family, without the actual physical closeness. Nature was kind to us and we had some great views from Mount Lemmon and we were excited to get pictures back. And what we got back from him was stunning. Absolutely amazing. Worth every single penny. Months later, I still cry looking through the photos. But here’s the best part – after the ceremony, and after the reception (in our backyard) – he stayed to help us clean up. He was the last to leave after putting the card tables away. Much of the day was a blur – but we’ll remember that act of kindness forever. So hire Andy, because not only will you get fantastic pictures, but you’ll have a great time together becoming friends.

PS. Did you know he was published in NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC?! WHAT.

We love andy!

End your wedding photographer search here--you've found the one. My husband and I were fortunate enough to find Andy through a friend of a friend. Without that connection, we never would have met the most professional, charismatic, friend-at-first-email photographer that is Andy. From our first interactions, Andy was warm, fun, and on top of everything. We loved corresponding with him before we met him, and it felt like seeing an old friend when we met for the first time. He flew across the country to shoot our wedding. Need I say more? From the moment he arrived, Andy was a hit with my bridesmaids and family (they asked if he would start a podcast/be their hype man for life after the wedding). He was flexible and adapted to both our wishes and the best lighting (thank goodness he was there to recommend "golden hour" photos vs sunset photos because there wasn't any visible color for the sunset). He captured the best and funniest moments of the evening. His photos were incredibly timely and exceeded our expectations. He is a true professional, a master at his craft, and one of the most amiable people you'll ever meet. Claim him as quickly as you can. You will not regret it!

The closest thing to a compliment I've ever heard from a photographer is:

"For a pretty girl, you're not very photogenic."

So I have a bit of a complex (aka - I avoid at all costs) having my picture taken. I'm not comfortable in front of the camera. My now-husband is even more camera-averse than I am: I can manage a forced smile when I have to but nearly every photo ever taken of him involves his middle finger. So we aren't exactly "model clients" for a wedding photographer.

I'd picked my wedding photographer before I even met my boyfriend-turned-husband, having followed Andy on Instagram for a few years. When Chris and I started talking seriously about eloping, I called Andy before I even told my best friends. It took us awhile to get serious, but when we did, we met up with Andy for a beer. Meeting Andy helped my husband-to-be get comfortable with the idea of a camera and another person being involved with our very intimate ceremony plans (just us, two witnesses and their spouses), and we planned our court date making sure he was available.

Did I mention, we chose November 6th for our court date, which happened to be within a couple of days of the fall-back time change, making it nearly impossible for us to really plan light and conditions?

Before the ceremony, my husband and I were both totally at ease despite the presence of the camera. Andy managed the magical balance of directing us and letting us engage with each other naturally. He worked with some not ideal lighting, a fair amount of wind. and was a very welcome "third wheel" for the hour before our ceremony. He also knew the routine at the courthouse, and through a combination of luck and his experience we landed a slot on the marriage roster at just the right time to have a sunset ceremony on the rooftop. I could not have asked for a better experience with a wedding photographer, and I get absolutely giddy with joy and fond memories, every time I look at our photos.

Long story short, Andy is a dream maker.

Long story, longer: My then fiancé and I were planning an elopement to Seattle at the courthouse. Other than marrying the man of my dreams (check) one of the items which was important to me was amazing photos. After some serious online research, I found Andy Shepard’s website and his photos spoke to me. His style was exactly what I was looking for. I sent an online request and the rest is history. From our first interaction Andy was a dream… kind, creative, inquisitive, and so damn friendly. I knew he was the one… the one photographer that is. We met on the wedding day and I couldn’t have asked for a better artist to capture me and my partner’s special day.

Seriously folks, I don’t have words to express how amazing Andy is. He spent three hours with me and my husband and captured the most special moments of our life. Three hours?! Yeah, my (now) husband thought the same thing… but just wait. Back to our story: Andy knew where we wanted to shoot, and had already planned the sites and knew what to expect. It rained, and he was willing to get himself (and his equipment) soaking wet to capture the photos of our dreams. Andy is an incredible artist, and any of you would be lucky to work with him. Andy is super friendly, fun, creative, patient, and so wonderful. And this is everything I would tell you before we saw our final photos.

Fast forward to a few weeks later and our wedding photos showed up in my email. OH MY GAWD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I look like a model. My husband looks like a GQ prince. Remember my dream? Amazing photos? (CHECK CHECK CHECK!!!) Andy Shepard Photography gave that to me. My husband agrees that the three-hour photography session was worth it and he would do it again. And as we’re planning the rest of our lives... I hope Andy is ready for a call when we’re ready for maternity photos, or holiday photos, or just “life is good” photos! Thank you so much Andy! XXOO

I first met Andy for my wedding in 2010. Actually, he shot my friend's wedding before that, and i was blown away by the quality of the photos. So i hired him and couldn't have been happier. Since then I've hired him for several more family photo shoots. He is great to work with, he makes you feel comfortable and has a great sense of humor which really helps to loosen you up on such a big stressful day, like a wedding. I think to get the best photos possible you must really click with your photographer, and Andy couldn't be more fun to work with. He's fun yet incredibly professional and his is work varies from awesome to breathtaking. He's also very fast at getting his work back to me, which is another bonus. I highly recommend Andy. Stop searching and just hire Andy.

Mother of the Bride

As a mother of a bride, and future son-in-law, I am extremely disappointed in the professionalism and compassion Mr. Shepard has shown to my daughter in these unprecedented times surrounding COVID-19. My daughter contracted with Mr. Shepard to do her dream wedding in Sedona before the government shut down our country, and the restrictions were implemented. They were forced to make the extremely difficult decision to cancel their Sedona wedding through no fault of their own. Mr. Shepard has refused to refund any of their deposit even though he has done nothing other than reserved the date on his calendar. Brides, please be aware that if you contract with Mr. Shepard, and are faced with a cancellation that is beyond your control, please know he will not refund your deposit under ANY circumstances.
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to help you make those big decisions with ease.
