We truly can’t say enough wonderful things about Amanda! From the very beginning, she made us feel so comfortable and at ease, and by the time our wedding day arrived, it honestly felt like we had a friend there with us—not just our photographer. Amanda has such an incredible talent for capturing the moments that matter most. She captured so many beautiful little details and genuine moments throughout our day, including things we didn’t even realize were happening. Looking through our photos brings us right back to the emotions and happiness we felt that day, and we will treasure that forever. What makes Amanda even more special is that she is just an absolutely wonderful person. She is kind, thoughtful, fun, and truly cared about making our wedding day as special as possible. We are so grateful that she was the person behind the camera for such an important day in our lives. My husband and I have gotten the chance to have Amanda photograph several of our life events—engagement photos, wedding, and first anniversary photos. Full Circle Moment:
My husband and I have gotten a chance to meet with Amanda on four different occasions—our engagement session, our Castleton Estate experience, our wedding day, and also a preview party to look at our wedding photos. We had quickly learned that Amanda travels to Anna Maria Island once a year with her family, and my husband and I love Anna Maria Island! It is our favorite beach in Florida.

I reached out to Amanda not at all expecting her to say yes to a photoshoot, as it was not only her family vacation but also her wedding anniversary. Surprisingly, Amanda did say yes, and I’m so glad she did. These photos are absolutely stunning—the quality of her work is like no other. This became such a special memory, as we have now moved to Idaho and she captured one of our last weeks in Florida at our favorite beach! I’m so grateful it all worked out! Session Experience:
You know when you are taking professional photos and it can be awkward because you don’t know what photos or poses you want? Amanda takes ALL the stress out of that! One of the most frustrating things with photographers to me is when they ask you what you want and don’t guide you. Amanda’s approach is giving you cues—twirl her, dip her, or tell her something funny. She will even tell you where to place your hands and what to do with your hair. She really takes all the stress out of posing. What this does is create beautiful, genuine moments instead of staged, static pictures. This creates more meaningful, beautiful photography!

Quick Turn Around:
Amanda May Photos has a very quick turnaround time. For our anniversary photos (attached on this review), we got them back within three weeks. Even for our wedding photos (you can find them in a different review!), we got them back within six weeks. Amanda and her team really take the time to go through, edit, and find those beautiful photos. They always deliver those amazing, genuinely happy moments that were captured during your different lifetime and milestone events.

Amanda & Her Team:
Amanda has a team that works with her, and they’re able to partner on photo editing, doing reels, and updating her Instagram. She really does have a whole beautiful operation behind her business—from the newsletter that you can be a part of, to her blog that she gives you sneak peeks into your photos, or even the thoughtful gifts that she will give you. Amanda really is more than a photographer but also a friend. She builds that relationship with you, and this helps you feel comfortable when she’s photographing you.

We can’t express how much Amanda helped us through the wedding process. From engagement pictures, to the wedding day she was on top of everything and made us feel special/important. From day one, we knew we wanted to use Amanda May Photos! She was easy to get in touch with, super professional, very clear with pricing and how everything would work. Then once we booked her she helped us stay organized throughout the whole process which made our lives super easy! Having good, clear wedding photos was at the very top of our priority list, and WOW did she deliver!!! We used one of her associate photographers, Andrea Goodman, with a second shooter Cyd Weeks. They were amazing!!! They made the wedding day so fun and their photos were truly beautiful. We got a 48 hour sneak peak, and then a week later we got 150 photos and we cannot wait to see the rest! I cannot recommend Amanda enough!! From our first introductory phone call, I knew Amanda would take care of us and not just with photos. Throughout our engagement, she mailed us merch, books to read about marriage, and even sent us stationary- we felt so loved and care for!!! It felt like she really was rooting for us and in our corner.
It takes a lot for a man to say “wow, that was actually really fun and never felt awkward” while taking posed, lovey-dovey photos for your engagement shoot, and that’s exactly what my husband said during our engagement photos. Amanda made us feel so at ease and natural when taking photos. We had so much fun together!
As for the wedding day… oh my goodness!!! First of all, she is the most organized person you’ll ever meet. She knows exactly what she wants and how, and that makes your life as a bride SO EASY!!!!!!!! Also, she’s fast. Insanely. We got a million photos (that are the best we’ve ever seen) all while we took photos for not as long as you think we would have. She’s so talented and just so gifted! She was made for this job and it makes anyone’s life as a bride/groom so easy and fun. I feel so grateful to have had such a gem be our photographer. We love Amanda!!

Amanda is a phenomenal photographer and person! She and her team are SO SO much more than just a photography team. Every step of the way she is present and committed to ensuring your day/ pictures are exactly what want. She is worth every single penny, every single time! There are truly not words to describe how caring and loving she is. I tend to get nervous and awkward in front of the camera but she had the perfect prompts and directions which made me feel so much more comfortable and confident. We hired Amanda for our engagement, personal photoshoot and wedding day. She was amazing to work with from start to finish, and we absolutely loved our photos! From helping us pick which package best fit our needs to walking us through our shots for the wedding day, Amanda was a dream to have by our side.
