Everything about my experience with Afterglow was amazing! Michelle and her team are incredibly talented. I met Michelle a few weeks before the wedding for a trial run, and she listened carefully to what I had in mind and did my hair EXACTLY as I had pictured on the first try. Because my fiancee had driven me to the appointment, she offered to do a "fake" style so he wouldn't see exactly what I was going to look like on the wedding day, and in a few minutes she whipped up a second style that looked absolutely beautiful as well. I liked the way the front of my hair looked in the "fake" style so much that I ended up having her do it that way on the wedding day itself! For makeup, I was very nervous, having had a bad experience with wedding makeup in the past, but she assured me it would look very natural. She absolutely delivered, and I left the trial feeling very confident that I was in good hands.

My mom, sister and I headed to Afterglow the day before the wedding, and were treated to the best manicures and pedicures we've ever had! Because Afterglow is literally on the side of a mountain, we had amazing views as we were taken care of, and my pedicure somehow lasted through my wedding weekend and my entire honeymoon without a single chip. I can't wait to be back in the area as I plan to go back for another amazing pedicure! Despite the mountainside location, it is a really quick and easy drive back into town and the area wedding venues.

The day of the wedding, Michelle and her team managed to be incredibly efficient (6 of us had hair done, and 4 had makeup done in less than 3 hours), yet friendly and relaxed, and made getting ready a lot of fun - not at all stressful. It was such a relaxed setting to be able to hang out with my wedding party, and the Afterglow team made everyone look amazing.

You know when you want to cry when saying goodbye you your wedding day hairstylist that they are something special! Michelle is FANTASTIC!! She hosted my friends for a nail party the day before our wedding, and for our hair and make up on the day of. She is completely calming as she does her work, making all of your wedding day gitters go away. I absolutely LOVED my hair and make up. I am not one who wears a lot of makeup, and when I have had it done in the past I think I don't look like myself. She totally understood and made it just perfect. My mom and all of my girls loved what she did.

Beyond all of these talents, Michelle also knows tons of people in the area. She helped me figure out a rehearsal dinner venue. And recommended things for my guests to do while in town. When we realized we forgot a crocheting needle to button my dress, Michelle was on the phone with a friend trying to find me one without me even asking. She is AMAZING!!

We are getting married in Waitsfield, VT and it was so hard finding a good hair stylist in the area (and surrounding area) that was financially reasonable (example: not charging over $200 for a hair trial) but also willing to travel to on-site location. I'll have to admit, I was a little weary at first picking a salon in "rural" Vermont.

Michelle, the owner of Afterglow, runs her salon and spa which is connected to her home , but it is truly beautiful and calming. When I first met Michelle, she was quiet at first but she started to warm up as she started working on my hair. Michelle took the time to listen and work with me during my bridal hair trial. I came in with photos that I had in mind and she made sure that at the end, I got what I wanted and could see things that I hadn't thought of! She is patient and truly listened to what I had to say and could see the end result (the vision). Many stylists get caught up with their ego and pride and sometimes let that get in the way of what the client really wants or needs. Michelle is unpretentious and so down to earth. Talking to her was like talking to a good friend. The end result SURPASSED my expectations!! I am beyond amazed at what my hair looked like at the end...I have never felt so beautiful in my life. My jaw dropped when we were finishing up the last few final touches...I just couldn't believe that I found such an amazing hair stylist in such a rural location...that goes to show you, you can't judge a book by it's cover!!

Afterglow did in amazing job on the brides hair and makeup as well as the entire wedding party. I can't express how happy we all were with the service provided. The spa is very relaxing, warm and cozy, not to mention the scenic beauty of Vermont that surrounds it. We all had a great time and we looked and felt gorgeous!

Wondeful, wonderful services. Wonderful team. Extremely down to earth and sweet! The owner, Michelle, took the time to answer every single little question I had (and I had a lot). The only reason that I gave Flexibility 4 out of 5 stars is because, being the only full salon in the surrounding area, they are highly sought after and sometimes it's a little harder to get an appointment when they are doing weddings. They do their best to accomodate as much as possible though. I loved them! Fantastic work and fantastic services all around!
