About this venue

24 Shelby is a historic wedding and event venue in downtown Indianapolis, just off I-65 at Washington Street. Built in 1898 as the bottling house of the Home Brewing Company, it is the only surviving pre-Prohibition brewery structure in Indianapolis — 127 years of history, fully renovated into a modern celebration space with original brick walls, exposed beam ceilings, and oversized windows that flood the halls with natural light. Veteran-owned and woman-owned, 24 Shelby blends Roaring Twenties soul with modern comfort your guests will remember.

Facilities and Capacity

With over 6,000 square feet on a single, accessible floor, 24 Shelby hosts everything from intimate gatherings to celebrations of up to 250 guests. Two grand halls - including the Edison Room, lit by strings of warm Edison bulbs - can be kept open or divided with elegant custom draping to match your vision. Get ready in style in the Rosewood Room, invite guests to unwind in the Libations Lounge, and step out for fresh air on the Prohibition Patio. Multiple restrooms and a dedicated prep kitchen for your caterer round out the space.

Sarah and the 24 Shelby events team guide you through every detail, from planning to day-of execution. Fully customizable bar packages range from curated wine and signature cocktails to premium full bar service, and in-house AV, lighting, and projection support corporate events and receptions alike. Downtown's best hotels, dining, and nightlife are minutes away. Now booking 2026 and 2027.

What's Included

Your rental gives you the venue from 8am until midnight, so there's time to set up, celebrate, and pack out without watching the clock. Our custom-built 8'x3' wood banquet tables, catering tables, and chairs come with the space at no additional fee. We're an open-vendor venue - bring the caterer and the food you want - and our prep kitchen offers sinks, refrigeration, and counter space to keep service moving.

Rates start at $3,995 for weekday dates, $4,495 on Sunday, $5,995 on Friday, and $7,495 on Saturday (holidays excluded).

We recently had our wedding at 24 Shelby, and I honestly can’t say enough great things about this venue!
We had 240 guests and still had plenty of space. The venue is absolutely beautiful, and their technology, screens, lighting, and sound system are hands-down the best I’ve ever seen at a wedding venue. Everything looked and sounded incredible.
There was plenty of parking, which was a huge plus for a downtown Indianapolis venue. The bar staff was fantastic — attentive, friendly, fun, and yes, very attractive! They kept everything moving smoothly all night and took great care of our guests.
We worked with Sarah during the booking process, and she was awesome from beginning to end. Ashlie handled our day-of coordination and was worth every single cent. Having her there allowed us to actually enjoy our wedding instead of worrying about all the little details. Both Sarah and Ashlie were incredibly easy to work with and made the entire experience better. Sarah gave us recommendations for a caterer, videographer, and wedding cake. We used her contacts, received a discount and were very pleased with all of her referals.
And the bridal suite is TO DIE FOR. Seriously, it’s amazing.
If you're looking for a wedding venue in downtown Indianapolis that can comfortably handle a large wedding, has incredible technology and sound, great staff, plenty of parking, and a beautiful atmosphere, 24 Shelby is it.
