Beautiful reception, wonderful service from hotel staff!!

First, the reception side of things:
Metropole was the location for my March 2016 wedding reception.
Their level of execution was extraordinary!
They provided a delicious, interesting, dynamic menu of vegan foods and drinks for our wedding guests.
EVERYONE (vegans and omnivores alike) walked away raving and had such a wonderful time.
The staff provided attentive and graceful service.
We could not possibly be more pleased!

Second, the ceremony side:
The level of service we received was not acceptable given the importance of the event and the cost. Julie was nice to work with but our event coordinator was simply absent and uncommunicative during much of the planning process. Wedding planning is stressful enough without having to hound your main vendor. On the day of, despite our attempts at communication, several things were not as discussed and several details had not been adequately resolved and thus involved tracking down the event coordinator who seemed to be doing her best to avoid us.
Ultimately, these details did not stop us from enjoying our day and it was a beautiful wedding regardless. But it did make things far more stressful than they had to be. I am an empathetic person and if our coordinator was dealing with illness or other emergencies, I understand - but then the venue must be notified and someone else needs to take point. As wonderful as the spaces may be, they need to do some serious reevaluating of the way they approach weddings.

In short: Metropole was fantastic and they went above and beyond.
The ceremony side of things was unnecessarily difficult and not at all commensurate with the luxury vibe of the space.
