Her Version
I met my future husband on my birthday nearly 6 years ago. A bunch of us went to celebrate at Dave & Busters. I was having a fabulous time, drink after drink. So I saw my friend, George, who brought Naldo. When I first saw Naldo, I thought to myself, wow, he's really cute! So after all the small talk, right before they were about to leave, I grabbed Naldo's phone and put my digits into it. I wasn't about to let him go!
So a week or so past, Naldo finally calls and we have our first date. I open the door and think, what the hell is this guy wearing?! I remember seeing a jean jacket, white button up shirt, slacks and dress shoes! haha. Not used to that east coast style. We had dinner at Applebees...for everyone who knows me I'M A TIMID LITTLE THING...needless to say, Naldo did all of the talking. I thought he was a weirdo, he's quite the jokester. We then watched American Psycho....great date movie right? haha...
After our first date,we started seeing each other as friends (not dating - Naldo will say we were dating, I think not). One evening Amber and her bf, at the time, were hanging out with us, and Amber asked Naldo to draw them. When I saw the intensity in his eyes as he drew them it just hit me - i do have feelings for him! I guess you can say the rest is history...BUT when I finally admitted to him my feelings, he told me he didn't trust me!! I pulled out all the stops from there on out and i've been loving him ever since!
His Version
No matter what she tries to tell you, my version is the most accurate. It all started one birthday evening on the 7th of April. My roommate, George, wanted to go to Dave & Buster's to meet some new people. So, we went. when the front doors swung open, angelic music started playing and intense lights started to fill the room. And lo and behold, I saw this girl standing at the bar. I wasn't sure if it was her natural aura glowing or something induced by her alcohol consumption, but something drew me to her.
Of course, I had to keep my attraction low key, so I wouldn't seem to hard pressed, esp. since she was surrounded by other guys. Since I didn't know her personally, I had George come cross enemy lines w/ me. When we finally met, she said "George, why didn't you tell me that Naldo was so cute!" I was taken back by her fowardness, but nevertheless, it was very appealing. We had a great time. And as we were leaving, Sio grabs my phone out of my hand and starts to enter her phone number. She tells me "You better call me."
Not to disappoint a lady, I called her several days later (you know the man-waiting grace period). We decided to eat locally near her place - especially, since I was still a stranger to her. I was so nervous that I literally talked most of the night - plus, she was extremely shy; Hardly a peep came out of her throughout dinner. Suprisingly, we didn't want the night to end so ended up watching American Psycho (What were we thinking?)
I thought it was a fun first date and we started dating more (she says we weren't dating...). We both were still still "playing the field" quite a bit, but eventually I wanted to be in one relationship. I started pursuing her a bit more (but in a pimpish way, of course) -- but she still was seeing other dudes! So, eventually, I wanted to relinquish in defeat. I knew she loved all the attention from the different guys in her life. When I mentioned to her that I didnt want to see her anymore and that I literally didn't trust her with my heart, things turned 180 degrees.
She started being more attentive and became very "into" me. Eventually, she started hanging out at our apartment -- then the bags appeared! haha. After my lease was up with George, she became my new roommate. Our friendship grew and soon enough, I knew. As someone best stated it once, "Once in awhile, right in the middle of an ordinary life, Love gives us a fairy tale." And Siobhan, is the princess of my story.
