Amazing, Delicious, and Beautiful Cake!

Wanda did an incredible job with my wedding cake! My vision came to life, all thanks to her. She understood my vision, and was always so responsive and organized. What more could you ask for

Wanda’s cakes are the total package! Tasty, beautiful, and don’t break the bank. Wanda was easy to work with and able to turn our vision into reality. She has an extensive collection of previous project photos for inspiration (even more than are on her site). She was responsive, punctual, and we would hire her again without hesitation.

The cake I wanted!!

Wanda was amazing, very responsive and delivered exactly what I want. I sent her the pic and the cake was exactly how I wanted. It was delicious and everyone enjoyed it. Wanda is very professional and made the whole experience smooth and easy. Thank you Wanda!

Beautiful cake

We worked with Wanda for our wedding cake and it was perfect! Wanda helped walk us through the many possible options for our cake, assisted us in narrowing down the best design, and left us with delicious samples. The cake was absolutely beautiful on the day of the wedding and tasted amazing.

My Dream Wedding Cake

Since I was a little girl I always had a vision of my "dream" wedding cake. Wanda welcomed me into her home and helped me sketch out my vision. My cake was perfect in looks, taste and quality. Thank you Wanda! Oh and this is better than a large company because she gives 100% dedication, freshest ingredients and the upmost attention, Delivery was smooth. I can't say enough about how amazing my cake and Wanda is.

Elegant and delicious

My favorite part of my wedding was my cake!! Wanda was super accommodating, especially given that we hired her in the middle of a pandemic! She let us take cake samples home before we made our final decision. And on the day of delivered it with no issues. The cake was super moist and flavorful and I can’t wait to eat it again on my 1 year anniversary!

Multiple cakes

I have been fortunate to have used Wanda multiple times for multiple cakes. Each time I gave her a photo of what I wanted and each time the cake was prepared beautifully. Not only were they reasonably priced but they were very moist and tasty. Lots of choices for cakes and fillings! Definitely give Wanda a call! I will for my next event!

Delicious and beautiful wedding cakes!

After seeing Wanda's cakes at two of my friends' weddings, I knew I wanted her to design mine one day! Our wedding cake turned out beautiful, and everyone raved about how delicious and moist it was! Wanda was so easy to work with....she was very flexible when we needed to downsize our cake size for our smaller ceremony because of COVID. She was a joy to work with, and we can't wait to work with her again whenever we have a reception!

Amazing!!!

Wanda was amazing to work with. I have a diary allergy and was concerned that I would not be able to eat my wedding cake without it costing an arm and a leg, but she assured me that she could make it happen. Even with a pandemic happening Wanda was always so helpful. The cake was absolutely gorgeous and it was so so delicious. She did an amazing job!

Amazing Cakes wonderful to work with

Wanda is absolutely wonderful, she is very professional and personable. All of her cake options were delicious. She was very easy to work with willing to adjust the cake size and layout to meet our exact needs. Lifesaver!

Our original cake vendor was unable to take our order just a few weeks before our wedding, luckily we found Wanda. With less notice than we'd like, Wanda took our order and really delivered. The cake was not only delicious, but looked beautiful and exactly how we imagined it in our minds. Amazing service and delicious product, would highly recommend. Can't wait to eat the slice we saved in our freezer next year!

So Glad We Went With Wanda!

We met Wanda at an open house at our venue. We tasted her cakes and knew immediately we wanted to hire her! For our wedding, she made us a million mini cupcakes and a small cake for cutting. Our wedding cake was simply beautiful! She worked with us on the size of the cake base because we were having trouble finding a cake stand. She is very responsive and wise. She was able to take my design ideas and bring them to life! The cake was delicious! I usually do not enjoy fondant on cakes but I did not mind it because it was soft and not overly chewy. If you have an idea that is outside of her comfort zone, she will certainly let you know it. That being said, there's not much that she can't do! I was VERY impressed when we arrived for the tasting. She had cupcakes of the different cake flavors individually wrapped along with samples of icing and filling on the plate. If we wanted to try something that was not on the plate, she simply went and got it for us. She has several books with pictures of the cakes that she has created in the past. She let us look at them at the initial tasting and at the second appointment when we finalized the cake design. She was very accommodating and patient with us. She showed us the size of the cake pans to give us an idea of how big the cake would be and told us how wide to buy the ribbon that we wanted to use. And the price for the value cannot be beaten! Ms. Wanda is amazing!!!

Wanda is a gem in this industry. She was recommended by our venue (Heritage Hunt Golf Club) and was exactly what we were looking for! The cake was absolutely delicious and everyone at the wedding was praising it. All the options we tried at our tasting were great. We had even tasted a slice she had frozen prior to our appointment and we couldn't tell... and all her example cakes were beautiful, with lots of options. Considering this, she's one of the best values you will find in northern Virginia. The price was very reasonable, and she was able to work with us to get us the cake we want in our budget. Not to mention she's such a fun and welcoming person! We absolutely would choose her again if we were able to do it all over.

Wanda not only listens and does a beautiful job decorating the cake, the cakes are very delicious. We were able to have multiple types of cakes and fillings. We ordered more than we needed and there was not any left as everyone took more than one piece. She is also very reasonably priced.

We were so impressed with Wanda's cakes. She was very flexible, meeting with us when we were in town from Ohio and trying to plan our wedding. She worked with us to get the look we were going for. The cake was beautiful and even more delicious. We were eating cake for almost 2 weeks after the wedding and it still tasted great! My husband and I really enjoyed working with Wanda. Besides just being a genuinely nice person, Wanda is very easy to work with and knows how to make cakes that are both tasty and works of art. She responds to emails promptly and is not afraid to give her opinion when her client is equivocating on decisions. Wanda was also flexible in customizing a cake flavor for us--spiced rum. I was not disappointed that some guests left before the cake cutting because the leftovers were delicious! Even a week after the wedding, the leftover Kahlua/chocolate chip cake w/raspberry filling was still moist and flavorful! I typically think that fruit fillings are disgusting, but her pineapple and raspberry fillings completely won me over.

I got so many compliments about our cake, which was executed exactly as I envisioned. Several people commented that Wanda's was the only fondant they've ever liked. A relative that is also a professional cake decorator praised both the taste and the decorating. Last but not least, Wanda's pricing is an incredible value in such an expensive area. It was nice that she didn't charge extra for fondant (as most local bakers do) and her delivery fee was also reasonable. We look forward to going back to Wanda for an anniversary cake!

Wanda made our wedding cake for September 2,2017 and it came out gorgeous! We received so many compliments on our cake. She made the cake exactly like we wanted. She delivered the cake, and ordered a cake stand for us that she did not have. She is amazing and highly recommend her for cake services!

I met Wanda at an Open House at Chantilly National Golf Course and after that I knew I had to get a cake from her. She is such a doll and great to work with. I gave her a picture and vision as to what I wanted and she deliverers exactly the cake I wanted. Not only are her cakes beautiful but reasonably priced and delicious. Best cake I have ever had! I met Wanda at the wedding expo back in September and I fell in love! Such a sweet lady! Went in for cake tasting and she was able to do gluten free for my Mother and Mother in law! Sugar free for my Dad! 150 cupcakes for our guests and not to mention the amazing cake we had for us and our wedding party! We wanted Oreo cake but it wasn't listed so without hesitation she said she can do it!

What a spitfire; this woman knows cakes. We made a last minute decision to get a formal wedding cake, and we were recommended to Wanda. We tasted her cakes, and didn’t go anywhere else after that. She had a pile of photo albums from her decades in the business to help give you ideas of what you might want, but was flexible on design. Good prices, great cake (the carrot cake was out of this world!!!). We would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a baker!

We cannot say enough amazing things about Wanda! She was extremely professional and very easy to work with. During the consultation, she was friendly and had so many delicious cakes to try! She was able to personalize our wedding cake with subtle details that fit our style. Not only was our cake beautiful but it was delicious! We still get compliments. She was also extremely reasonably priced compared to other bakeries in the area. She delivered our cake without charging a fee and was all about customer service! We highly recommend her!

We instantly liked Wanda when we met her at a wedding show at our venue. She was extremely personable and her cake was delicious! When we found out she was a Maryland grad, like my husband, we knew we wanted her to make our cake! She has several cake examples at her home and many photos of her work. We enjoyed getting to know her as we tasted several flavors of cake, filling, and frosting. We chose a yellow cake with buttercream frosting, with one layer having chocolate filling. It was a very traditional design which we had requested, and she made it exactly as I had in mind. She delivered the cake early, and our floral designer decorated it with fresh flowers. Since Wanda is a Maryland Terp, I was excited to ask her to make a surprise groom's cake of Testudo, the U. of MD mascot! "He" was perfect and a big hit with everyone, including many Terp fans! Wanda's prices are very reasonable, and she is very easy to work with. I was able to get the wedding cake and the groom's cake for less than what some bakeries would have charged just for the wedding cake. I highly recommend Wanda's Cakes because of her delicious cake, reasonable prices, beautiful and creative designs, and the pleasant and stress-free experience!

Wanda was so easy to work with. We tried delicious cake combinations at our first appointment, chose from there and showed her the design we wanted. Our cake was a showcase at the wedding. I highly recommend Wanda's Cakes! I had so many people at the wedding tell me it was the best cake they had ever had. The cake was also beautiful. Wanda has many samples to see in person and also albums with many cake designs she has done in the past. I was able to dream up my own design with all the examples and it turned out perfectly. She was professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and of course, makes delicious cake.

We decided to go with Wanda for our cake because she had very good reviews and her prices seemed very reasonable. We went for our tasting and had a great time chatting with her. We knew what we wanted inside the cake, but werent 100% sure on how to have the outside. She showed us picture after picture and was able to talk us through some examples until we came up with a design I was sure I would like. Upon seeing the cake on my wedding day I was more then happy, It was absolutely beautiful and it tasted amazing. Neither my husband nor I are cake people and we both loved it and went back for seconds.

We loved working with Wanda! She was responsive and created one of the best cakes we could have asked for. She met with us twice before the wedding and made sure that she knew exactly what we were looking for. We had so many of our guests comment on how good the cake was and despite having a dessert bar and a cake; we left with very little cake at the end of the night. Wanda is just wonderful! We found her from the recommended vendor list provided by our venue, went to a tasting that was held at her house. She took her time to go through flavors, designs options and was on top of things. She has great selection, very pleasant to work with and her prices are not through the roof like most other places. At our second meeting we told her in more general terms of what we want, we didn’t even have a picture. What we saw on the day of the wedding exceeded any of my expectations! The cake was absolutely gorgeous, Wanda is very talented, she listened to my ideas and made it into reality. The cake tasted great, we had two different flavors and both were very yummy!

We ordered cake for 175 people, and had 160 guests at our reception. There was not a single piece of cake left, and all the guests absolutely loved the combination of flavors! Wanda is so responsive and everyone commented on the unique shapes she created for our cake.

Wanda’s Cake did a wonderful job for our wedding! We had a cupcake tower with 3 different kinds of cupcakes: almond with raspberry filling, almond with Nutella filling, and chocolate with a decorative flower on top of the icing. On top of our cupcake tower, we had a small cake. Wanda delivered the cupcakes and cake and set them up for us, too.

I described to Wanda what I wanted for the cake and showed her a few picture ideas. The design turned out exactly as I had described to her. She matched the wedding colors I gave her to the cupcakes and cake that she made. She also lent us an elegant, glass cupcake stand, which made the overall dessert display table look perfect. The cupcakes were very moist and delicious. They looked very professional. The icing was delicious, and the cupcake fillings turned out great. Wanda was accommodating and great to work with! I highly recommend her!

Wanda did an amazing job on our cake! We had a rustic barn wedding and she wasn't immediately sure she could do the style of butter cream icing that we were requesting but she pulled it off and it looked amazing. I had several guests stop me at the wedding to say that it was the best cake they had ever had at a wedding and one guest even admit guiltily to me that she had eaten not only her slice but two other guests slices that were left unattended as well! We ordered lemon and chocolate layered cake with raspberry filling and it was incredibly delicious.

Attending Wanda's tasting was fun and relaxed. My mother joined me and we ended up spending several hours just chatting and nibbling. Her prices are incredibly reasonable as well. Especially if you do as I did and order a small two tier cake for cutting and a sheet cake for serving. She also delivered to our venue in Leesburg with a reasonable delivery fee.

Wanda was the first and only baker that I went to. I found her on WeddingWire, and due to her glowing reviews & amazing cake pictures, I booked a tasting. I took entirely too many pictures of different cakes, but she somehow managed to know exactly what I wanted even though I didn't. She is warm, inviting, and extremely professional. We had a last minute change to one of the layers and she was more than willing to accomodate it. When I saw our cake the day of I was blown away, and it tasted just as good as it looked! We are looking forward to getting to eat our top tier on our anniversary.

I absolutely loved working with Wanda. She is super professional and to the point which is refreshing because she doesn't bother with the super ooey-gooey fake talk that some vendors tend to overdo. Meeting Wanda for the first time was a wonderul experience, I had an unusual idea for my cake and she delivered excatly what I wanted.

We met Wanda at an Open House and immediately fell in love with her cakes and her as well. She is so sweet and has such wonderful tasting cakes. Wanda really helped us design our dream cake. I'd come to Wanda with a couple of sample pictures of cakes I liked, and not much of an idea of what I really wanted. Wanda not only very quickly picked out the common elements from the pictures I showed her, but also created a customized cake design to match the centerpiece that I'd been working on! And not only did she deliver a beautiful and gorgeous cake on the day of the wedding, but it was also delicious. Thank you so much, Wanda!

I got a perfect cake made by Wanda. She put the flowers and GLITTER on the cake to match my dress!

Wanda is a amazing communication with me via e-mails and beyond excellence of quality of service.

Ladies and Gentlemen, guess what? The cake was ALL GONE! Yes! Dwayne and I only ate our part when we exchange the cake... and then came back for our cake to eat some more... its ALL GONE... WOW.... It must be darn good! Thank you. =D

We liked Wanda when we first met her. You could tell she was organized, professional, knew what she was doing, and made great cakes. What we liked most about her, however, was her flexibility. We anticipated a certain number of guests at our wedding, but the real number was a lot lower than what we thought. We had already designed our cake, and we knew it would now be too big. But Wanda was great with us in his regard. She managed to keep the same look of the cake with only a slight redesign. She completely catered to our situation. And of course the cake was delicious, and we can't wait to dig in to the cake again next year!

wanda was recommended by one of my mom's friends. wanda was great! i'm not a typical bride. my fiance and i are not super traditional and cake really isn't our thing. we wanted something that reflected us and that we love. i love chocolate and fruit for dessert, while my husband like a dense cake, no icing. we compromised . . . an almond (recommended by wanda) bundt cake with almond icing drizzled on top and fresh berries on top and on the sides. it was perfect! wanda totally went with my unconventional wedding cake request.

the guests loved the cake! we couldn't have asked for a better bundt cake!

Wanda did a perfect job on my wedding cake last weekend, June 25, 2011. Sometimes when I go to wedding I am disappointed in cakes so when choosing a vendor for my own cake I was rather picky. Wanda did an excellend job and my cake was beautiful. A 3 layer white cake with white icing with columns between the 2nd and top tier. We did the inital consultation/tasting at her home. She had many models to look at and flavors to taste. Highly recommend Wanda!!!

Cake was delicious! The strawberry filling was the best part. Was able to meet with Wanda and discuss what we wanted. She had a ton of pictures to go through and was willing to use supply that was left over from a previous cake so we didnt have to go out and buy more ribbon. I thought she worked well within our price range, we only went a little bit over. Only downside was there wasnt a HUGE amount to taste just what was left over from batches that were recently made (not sure if that was normal or not, she was the only person we saw). Overall she worked with the florist since we were putting flowers on the cake, communication was great, end result was delicious!

Wanda did the cake for my daughter's 6/18/11 wedding -- 4 tiers, each a different flavor and filling. It looked amazing and OMG -- it was delicious! She was fun to work with, professional, worked with what my daughter wanted, not what she thought would be good, delivered the cake on time, was responsive to e-mails and calls and she is a delightful person. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for that special cake!

Wanda was fabulous. We found her on Wedding Wire and also on the Knot. Then I discovered that she had done a coworker's wedding cake several years prior. My now husband and I found Wanda to be very personable and down to earth, but also very knowledgable about her art. And it is art because the cakes are beautiful and ridiculously tasty, to boot! She worked well with our requests and easily able to accomodate the size of our reception. (In addition, as we were still seeking other vendors, she was able to make recommendations for other services that we might have been able to use.) All of our guests loved the cake. :) We have since recommended her to several engaged friends, and know that we will likely be enjoying more of her cakes at their weddings!

Wanda was great to work with and our cake was beautiful and delicious. She helped me with the design since I was not really sure what I wanted and made suggestions on the size needed. She threw in free decorative ribbon since she had extra. The cake was wonderful. We did not want to wait a year to eat the top layer since I heard they can dry out so we enjoyed our wonderful cake again on our one month anniversary.

Wanda not only has the most gorgeous cakes, but the most delicious ones as well.

She was timely, responsive, and the best part about it is that with my TINY wedding, she did a cake tasting for us, while other cake places booted us out the door. She made us feel like it was 100% our cake, and guided us to ones she thought we would like. We took up a lot of her time, but she made it seem like it was nothing.

She makes everything feel personal as opposed to large cake decorating stores where you're a faceless customer, and I LOVE that she works from her home. I would recommend her to anybody. She goes above and beyond.

Price was surprisingly inexpensive, and she was prepared for my pickup early! She's also flexible on timetables.

The cake turned out gorgeous and fantastically delicious too.

Wanda makes amazing cakes - so beautiful and so yummy! We chose a buttercream frosting for our cake and it was so smooth you couldn't tell it wasn't fondant...and it was much better tasting! Our cake was so delicious that even though we got a 3rd tier to provide about 200 pieces (we had 140 guests), we had no leftovers to bring home and everyone was begging for 2nds & 3rds! She even made a layer Funfetti which was a HUGE hit! She was a blast to work with and I highly recommend her for any bride that loves a good piece of cake!

Wanda was amazing. She created the perfect cake for us and it actually tasted wonderful! I received so many compliments on it. I would highly recommend her to anyone in the VA area. She is such a lovely person and we really enjoyed working with her.

Wanda was very nice and easy to work with. Our cake was beautiful and very delicious. We had chocolate cake with raspberry filling for the first layer and spice cake with a sweet cream filling. The cake was fondant covered and it was delicious. A lot of fondant is thick and chewy but not Wanda's!! Everyone loved the cake and we thank you for working with us!
