Finding just the right destination for your destination wedding, event, or special celebration can be so overwhelming and stressful! Kat with Calla Events, Design, & Travel, LLC went above and beyond to help my husband and I plan a trip to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We had a limited budget and many variables to work with. We didn’t make it easy on her but her patience, attention to detail, and tireless efforts to keep searching for just the right trip got us to a trip we can’t wait to enjoy! She replaced our stress with excitement as we went over the options she offered us. No detail was too small for her. She really put together a very personal package “just for us”. We are so grateful for her service and the product she provided.

The best decision we made was to hire Trends To Traditions! Kat, Amanda and the entire TTT team were absolutely amazing to work with!! I didn't think it was possible to NOT feel stressed while planning a wedding - but it is! Your knowledge and experience was so helpful- and our wedding was beyond our expectations to the very last detail. Because of you and your team, we knew everything was under control, and we could spend quality time with friends and family and not have to worry about anything. Thank you again for helping us to plan our dream wedding!!

I can't even begin to say how truly amazing our wedding day was! I worked with Trends for almost 1.5 years leading up to my wedding. I wouldn't describe myself as a normal bride- I was truly infatuated with the small details- so much that my meetings lasted, on average, 3 hours or longer (& we had a TON of meetings.) I can honestly say that Kat & Team made every single meeting so exciting that I never wanted them to end! Moral of my rant, no matter how long or where you need to meet, they will jump through hoops to make sure you are assisted and happy. 3/4 of our meetings turned into lunch or dinner dates- it's almost like you acquire instant best friends when you sign your contract! You are eventually assigned "your person" and mine luckily was Amanda. She was there to guide me, remind me of payments, offer advice and direction and basically be my #1 sidekick for 6 months. The day of, I had another "person" added and her name was Laura. Laura rocked! Her and Amanda spent the morning driving back and forth between houses making sure the bridesmaids & groomsmen were on time, marriage licenses were obtained, and rings were in place. As my mom and I look back, we can honestly say we can't come up with one thing that we would have changed. The trends team are a great group of gals to work with (and befriend.) Thank you Amanda for making our wedding day truly PERFECT!!!!!!

Kat and her team were the absolute best to work with. They were with me at every step of the process and provided excellent guidance on vendor choices and had so many wonderful creative ideas and worked hard to stay within my budget. I actually had guests calling me to get their info to plan their own weddings and parties in Pittsburgh and received numerous compliments that it was one of the best weddings they ever attended. Trends to Traditions went above and beyond and I can't thank them enough for all they did for me and my family. I highly recommend them to anyone who is planning a wedding in the Pittsburgh area.

Let me start off by saying that my wedding day was the single greatest day of my life. It was truly a perfect day and it could not have been done without Katherine and her wonderful team!

She turned Southpointe into the perfect venue for our wedding! Our outdoor cocktail party by the pool was such a hit! The setup and color scheme made our cocktail hour the ultimate experience for our guests.

Trends to Traditions also designed the ballroom to look stunning. Every detail, from the flowers to the chairs and linens was so well thought out and came together nicely. The ambiance in the room perfectly matched my husband and my personality and really reflected our taste and style as a couple!

Katherine's wedding specialist, Aubrey, was also such an essential part of the wedding. She made sure that everything went smoothly. Even the weeks leading up to the wedding, Aubrey was my crutch-- when I was worried, needed ideas or answers to our questions, she was there!! Aubrey knew all the minor details and did so much additional work, which allowed me to focus on the major decisions.
All of the vendors Trends to Traditions recommended fit right into our budget. Kat's honest opinions and wedding knowledge took our wedding from nice to spectacular! It would not have been a tenth as nice if it wasn’t for Kat and her team's design ideas, color schemes, knowledge and day of expertise. Her team helped me so much that I did not have to lift a finger the day of the wedding, which allowed me to focus on my guests and have fun! I was the most relaxed and calm bride because I wasn’t knew Kat and her team had everything taken care of! Choosing Trends to Traditions to plan my wedding was the best decision. If you want to have an unforgettable wedding, hire Trends to Traditions!!

Katy and Katherine were both not only extremely attentive and organized, but they were beyond friendly and caring. I have already recommended them to anyone I know getting married because and can not imagine anyone planning a wedding without their very own Katie! I purchased a package that included 2 planners to be there for my wedding day and to my delightful surprise, there were at least 4 in attendance and even. Katherine the owner came. I can't possibly say enough about Trends to Traditions, in particular Katie and Katherine, they truly have a unique talent and gift!

Trends to Traditions provided us with first class service. Everyone we worked with was courteous, answered questions promptly and were so helpful in providing information in all areas regarding our daughter's wedding day.

I do not have any complaints about the wedding day itself. If we had any questions, our wedding planners were very accessable and took care of everything. The whole day, from the ceremony to the reception went beautifully and I have nothing but great memories of the whole process.

I hired Trends to Traditions for Day of Coordination services. Kat, Jaime, Aubrey, and the other ladies were in making everything go smoothly on my wedding day. It was truly the most incredible day of my life. I had NO stress and had an absolute blast. And I keep telling everyone that the only reason I could enjoy it was because I had help. I love my family and friends dearly, but everyone was busy and no one was really able to commit as much time to help me with the wedding as I needed. The best decision that I made during the whole wedding process was to go ahead with the day of coordination services. I was very reluctant since we already had a great event coordinator at our venue and it seemed like a splurge, but truly, this was the best thing I could have done. I relaxed all day, had my hair and makeup done, looked great, was unfrazzled, handled very little in terms of problems, and was really able to be in a fantastic frame of mind. Trends to Traditions specifically helped with pre-wedding planning (2 meetings regarding this), followed through with my itinerary and all the details, gave checks to the vendors/communicated with the vendors/made sure that they ran on schedule, coordinated our rehearsal, coordinated the ceremony, helped to seat guests, gave me ideas for how to make the ceremony and reception special, gave vendor recommendations, organized and booked our honeymoon (which was amazing!!!!) I recommend them wholeheartedly.

We worked with Trends to Traditions for a year while planning our wedding from out of town. From picking out our reception site, to selecting vendors, to sharing ideas about how to make our day extra special, Katherine and her team were extraordinary. We did not have to worry about a thing during our wedding weekend. They contacted all the vendors, made sure no detail was over-looked and helped set-up/tear-down our entire wedding reception. When we walked into our reception, we were blown away. Gorgeous down to every last detail. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and are still talking about it. We certainly could not have pulled this off without Trends to Traditions!

Trends to Traditions went above and beyond my expectations for my wedding planning needs. I planned by wedding from another state and thought I needed some additional help. I am SO glad I chose Trends to Traditions. Their entire staff (especially Katherine and Katy) made themselves available WHENEVER I needed a question answered or opinion on the planning. TTT gave me endless options for everything-linens, flowers, venues etc. Regardless of how many wedding they were planning that month, they made me feel like I was the only bride they were working with. Their attention to detail is second to none and all of the weddings they do are so personalized and different. This is NOT a cookie cut wedding planning service. So if you are looking to have a one of a kind, knockout wedding,go with TTT. You will not be disappointed. I'm so glad I did. They made my dream wedding come to life!

WOW! I could have not done anything with these people! They were awesome - Katherine and Katy and all of the girls! Katherine helped with a lot of details - invitations, favors, tuxedos, etc. Katy is awesome, she worked with us to make our day so perfect! She met with us several times and we made several timeline drafts to make sure everything was how we wanted it. The day went as smooth as can be, and we couldn't have done it without Katy and her assistants! Thank you Katy! Thank you Katherine! Thank you TTT!!! You guys rock! If you do not want to worry about wedding day drama or small problems, hire Trends to Traditions, they will make sure everything runs perfect and you won't have to worry about anything!!!!! Katherine Shaw is absolutely amazing!!! She is exceptionally knowledgeable of all elements of wedding planning. She is a delight to work with and helps clients navigate through a very challenging process with ease and grace. Throughout the event planning process she was always quick to respond whenever we had questions or comments. Her recommendations for vendors was spot on both in the type of vendor that we were looking for and in the appropriate price range. On the wedding day she made everything run smoothly and without any glitches. We felt so confident in Katherine, with all of her preperations, that it allowed us to really just sit back and enjoy our day! She is the BEST!!!!!

Before I met with Katherine, I was so overwhelmed that I could not even think about my wedding. After our first meeting, I was excited about planning it and couldn't wait to get to work! We could not thank Trends to Traditions enough for all they did for our wedding!!

Katherine Shaw and her staff truly handled the day brilliantly and were so calm and professional throughout. I really appreciated their patience with my nervousness on the day (I was more nervous than I was expecting). Any little thing that popped up they just handled it, which really helped me relax and enjoy. It also felt so great all day to know that my guests were always in good hands.

All the extra little touches they did were fantastic. The way they displayed the Ketubah (at both venues!) and the way they used the extra votives, flower petals and ceremony decorations at the reception were absolutely fantastic. The more I look at our photos the more I catch these little things (the fabric on the balcony of the lobby and the decorations on the cookie table) and I'm sure will continue to do so.

All of my guests were amazed at how smoothly everything ran and said how professional all of their staff were. Almost everyone has commented on this. I can't tell you how many people said they have never been to such a beautiful wedding that was so well organized!!! They have said it was an "affair to remember" and that "the whole wedding was wonderful, a warm and wonderful (and absolutely breathtakingly beautiful!) day and evening!". These are from guests who are used to attending and hosting beautiful affairs themselves. I'm still getting notes about it.

Every single vendor we got through Trends to Traditions were fantastic!!! We couldn't thank them enough for this. We were amazed at how wonderful and professional they all were, how much they delivered on the day and how their services were excellent value for money.

Trends to Traditions' package was so reasonably priced and excellent value for money!!! What we got from working with them was more than we could have ever expected or hoped for.

My husband and I really enjoyed getting to know Katherine and working with her throughout the whole process. She was always there to support, help out and give advice when needed. This really kept our wedding stress to a minimum and allowed us to enjoy the planning process. Time and again I was utterly impressed with her efficiency and all the various things she was able to help us with. She was so resourceful.

I'm very detail focussed and my husband often said throughout this process that I met my match in working with Katherine. Every single detail I wanted or had mentioned for the day was achieved and there were loads of extra details attended to that, beforehand, didn't even cross our minds.

We had very clear ideas about what we wanted for the wedding. Katherine carefully listened and helped us execute them, while also offering great ideas we never thought off, which are now some of our favorite memories (that was the best bubble send off I have ever experienced at any wedding).

We never could have had the wedding we did without her. Katherine Shaw and Trends to Traditions gave us a gift that we will treasure forever, and for that we will be forever grateful.

Katherine was fabulous to work with for our wedding. She was easy going, great sense of humor, flexible, and easy to communicate with whether in person, over the phone, or by e-mail. Leading up to the wedding, we had multiple meetings to go over every detail of the wedding - from linens to songs every detail was planned. Then at the wedding, she only exceeded our expectations. She blended into the event in such a way that a couple of guests told us they never saw our wedding planner and wanted us to point her out. She took care of every problem that arised without us knowing. At the end of the night when we said our byes it was very sad because we liked Katherine so much.

Kat,

Wherever do I begin to thank you! From the moment I met you without even looking at everything in your little portfolio that you had I knew that we needed you for our day! You have so much energy and genuine kindness in you!

Throughout all of our planning you were so passionate about making the perfect day for us!

Your ideas and theme madness (I say that in a good way) were always so awesome! You knew I was a little leary about theme but I'm so glad we did it that way! I loved the car! I think everyone did! The dancer that you( you stinker!) and Chad surprised me with...loved them! Especially when he ripped his pants! He was so cute about it when it happened! The lighting!

OH MY GOODNESS! Okay whoever doesn't have lighting at their wedding are fools! It was ridiculously awesome! I love the pics that Cal was able to get up on the balcony with the lighting! The linens! Gorgeous! The cake...everyone said that it was the best wedding cake they'd ever had! It was so good. We totally ate all of it before we even went on our honeymoon.

And the Band...yeah, I can't tell you how many people have told me that they are the best band that they've ever heard at a wedding! Love them so much! I mean they really are the greatest! Oh and the caricarist(sorry I know I spelled wrong)...we should have got two! There were lines for her!

Everyone loved it! I mean everything came together beautifully! Every one of our guests were simply astounded! We continue to get calls about how wonderful and well-thought and detailed and gorgeous everything was! People who weren't able to come or even people that we didn't invite are calling us telling us how spectacular they heard our wedding was! That makes me feel good and that should make you feel even better because you were the one who was able to make everything happen!

Our wedding was SIMPLY GORGEOUS and Chad and I attribute that to you! We could have never had the type of wedding that we had without you! The day
was perfect! Your ideas exceeded all of my expectations! I was never one
of the little girls who has had my day planned since I was five or walked around with the pillow case on my head, but when we did get engaged and I did start to think of my perfect wedding, I always envisioned a beautiful day. I felt like you were able to not only give me what I had anticipated, but you created an event. The most spectacular event that I could have never dreamed without you! We truly do thank you, Kat! The only way I could ever be happier is if the day didn't end! And by the way, my mom says that you're not allowed to stop working since I have three more sisters to go! ;)

Kat was my wedding planner a few years ago and was GREAT. She was very thorough and the day was perfect. Everything was very smooth and although a few of my vendors had some slip-ups (i.e. flowers were VERY late) Kat NEVER let me know. She handled everything and made my day very easy and care free for me! She also kept me on track in the planning days - i had no idea when I needed to do different things, and she often sent emails and left voicemails checking in and providing me friendly reminders. I had my reception at a hotel and Kat worked hand in hand with the coordinator at the hotel. Kat made sure that everything was done just as they said it would be. I remember seeing her the at the reception having the hotel staff clear some of the dirty appetizer plates that had been left out for a few minutes! All in all, I would highly recommend Trends to Traditions for all your wedding planning needs!

Simply put, we made the right choice in hiring Trends to Traditions (TTT) for our 08-08-09 wedding. I had heard Trends to Traditions was the best, and now I see why. Katherine and her staff were so professional and kind to our guests. They took care of everything, which was nice because sometimes I can't make decisions. When vendors were difficult, Katherine stepped in and made my wishes come true. It was nice to have someone in the industry who was on OUR side when dealing with all of the vendors. Plus, TTT took care of the unexpected crises: when we left the garter at the hotel, someone went back and got it. When our dog ran away, Katherine offered to drive her vehicle and help us find him- who does that? There were minor issues that we never even knew about until the next day, when someone told us- because the TTT staff solved the problem immediately. Where most vendors just wanted to do their work and get out, I felt like the TTT staff actually cared about the memory of our wedding day. Having never even attended a wedding before, we really had no idea what we were supposed to do, but it felt like Katherine was by our side the entire day, which made it much less stressful (and yet she never showed up in the pictures?!). TTT was able to give us valuable advice that only someone who plans weddings every day would know. Our bridal party of 13 loved working with her and still asks about her. We couldn't have asked for a better wedding planner. Thank you so much, Katherine & staff, and God bless!

After getting engaged, the very best decision we made as a couple was hiring Katherine Shaw as our wedding planner. I just want to thank you for helping to orchestrate one of the best week-ends of my entire life. Everything was incredibly wonderful. Nicole and Briana from TTT were the planners for my reception at LeMont last weekend. They set everything up exactly how I had envisioned and we had discussed, and they handled any issues that arose during the evening. I felt good knowing they were there to handling everything. Katherine and her team were amazing! They had all of my questions answered and gave me numerous opitions to choose from and laid out all the costs for me from my honeymoon to my flowers. Katy and Kat worked with me to plan my wedding in a very short time span! We were engaged on Christmas Eve 2011 and married by the beginning of August! Trends led us to some of the most awesome vendors in the area - J Verno Studios (our reception site) being the most outstanding and unique! Katy, my day coordinator, was super organized, very friendly, and completely professional. She worked with me to make everything run so smoothly - both before and the day of. When I walked into our reception dining room, I was speechless. It was everything I envisioned - perfection! It was very easy for me (and my mother) to enjoy the day because we knew we had Trends there to make sure it went off without a hitch! The team was great. Everyone expects that it will be the perfect David Tutera moment. Trends to Traditions tried their best to make that happen and if there were any hiccups along the way they did a good job in helping resolve issues. Working with Katherine before my wedding was one of the best things I could have done. Even thoough I didn't book a big package, she was there all the way helping me think ahead and plan for what I wanted to happen on my wedding day, as well as booking vendors that I never even thought I needed. When the day of coordinator stepped in, she was able to follow through with all my wishes. Thank God! There were so many people to keep in line. Even when faced with a problem, they handled it with precision. Wedding planners must have lots of patience, and these laides did the job! I highly recommend their services.

Trends to Traditions was amazing. Throughout the wedding process all brides feel over whelmed once I expressed I only wanted a limited number of vendors to choose from they were accommodating. They suggested all of my vendors and each vendor was amazing to work with. I was amazed at how smoothly everything went the day of my wedding and how absolutely beautiful it turned out, I know without the team at Trends to Traditions I would not have been so lucky. I highly recommend and thank them for making my wedding something that my guests will compare all other weddings too and making it so easy for me!

This was one of the few vendors that we had some issues with for our wedding. Because we were told that they could get us a "deal" on our tuxes, we used them to order our tuxes, from out of town. We had everyone go out and get measurements, which we sent to the planner. Unfortunately, the out of town tux provider did not send the correct size tuxes and we were left scrambling to find tuxes that matched and fit up until 11:00 AM the day of our wedding (the wedding was at 2). If we had it to do over, we definitely would have just gone with MW Tux, as we didn't actually save any money anyways. Additionally, although we didn't hear about it until after the wedding, apparently the Day of Coordinator was very scatterbrained with the wedding party, often giving them mixed directions. Our wedding party was not happy with her at all, but because my husband and I did not experience this, we can't directly comment on it. We probably should have just kept our money and not hired the DOC.
