Rachel was our Day-of Coordinator, but to my wife and I, she became our emotional support months leading up to the wedding. She really went above and beyond for us, and did so with an upbeat disposition the entire time. Rachel kept the big day running so smoothly that we were never brought out of the dream-like state of the day. She really understood the decor we were aiming for, and made countless contributions to that goal. You won't regret booking Flowering Fern! -

Rachel Saved Our Sanity
Our daughters' wedding was scheduled for July 2020. When it was apparent that would not happen, Rachel took it upon herself to call my daughter to assist with rescheduling for 2021. Originally she was going to be day of coordinator only. Everything became progressively more stressful and thankfully, Rachel was available to do planning also. I can't overstate how much Rachel helped us. A family member was doing floral from out of state and Rachel did a long zoom walk through of the venue with the floral designer and was available every time my daughter or vendors needed some assistance before, during and after the wedding. Every step of the way, no matter what calamity arose, Rachel handled it with grace, kindness and humor. The wedding was beautiful and everyone had a wonderful time. One couple at the wedding were so impressed they had Rachel do their wedding too! Rachel's talent, skill and professionalism are beyond reproach. -

Wonderful wedding planner and amazing person
Rachel was everything I could have hoped for and more! She well exceeded my expectation. She is so kind, creative and hard working. I couldn’t recommend her enough. We went through the ringer with having a pandemic wedding. She was flexible and knowledgeable. I am so thankful for Rachel at the Flowering Fern! She was also very helpful with our canine flower girl. -

This review is way overdue, but Rachel was so helpful with my mini wedding. I got married back in 2020 and decided to hire a day-of wedding planner last minute after realizing my family who would help with most of the things wouldn't be able to make it due to COVID.
I had my vendors all picked out, but Rachel helped so much with the timeline and getting all the vendors together. She never made me feel rushed, despite the clock ticking down more quickly than I thought.
She really was a one woman team - helping with the timeline, setting up, and even rearranging decor for the different photos we were taking (this was also when receptions were not allowed and the air was smokey - just my luck lol).
One thing that stuck out to me was when we were running behind schedule and I was worrying about making people wait, Rachel told me "you're the bride, you're on time". It was the exact right thing I needed to hear and just double downed on hiring Rachel being one of the best decisions for my wedding. -

Besides me and I husband just about everyone was coming from out of town and I wanted everyone to be able to relax and enjoy their time, with Rachel’s help throughout the whole day it was just that! No one had to think what was next or worry about the timing of the day. Also she had everything you don’t think you will need and works well and has great communicates with vendors. We could not have chosen a better person to help us on our day! Thank you Rachel! -

Hiring Rachel to be our day of coordinator was the best decision we made while planning our wedding (okay...maybe my decision on husbands was pretty good too). From the first meeting she was organized and always went above and beyond to make our day run smoothly. Not only is she impeccably professional, her personality is relaxed and fun. Hiring Rachel was the best money we spent on the wedding, she handled logistics perfectly and was an all around awesome coordinator. -

Just the best
Rachel put in the effort to really get to know my husband and me. We felt as though we were having a very close friend help us. She definitely "got" us. She was there every step of the way with her guidance and responsiveness.
I was blown away at her facilitation of our wedding day. She was there for the two of us, assertive but kind with our vendors and wedding party. She was really everything we needed so we could let go of any worries. I don't know what we would have done without her, particularly on the wedding day. It helped that she had overseen the facilitation leading up to it so she was well equipped to handle everything on our day, without guidance.
Additionally, Rachel is an absolute delight as a human being! I would recommend her to anyone! -

We found Rachel through our wedding planner, Everly. Although she was only hired for day-of coordination, Rachel took the time to meet us in person a couple of months in advance to learn all about us and our wedding vision. She was very responsive by email and always enthusiastic while simultaneously being grounded and realistic. She took all the rehearsal and wedding day stress in stride and followed the plan impeccably. She was always available when needed while somehow melting into the background of the day. There is NO evidence of her in photos or videos, which makes me a little sad because she is beautiful! Any time I wanted reassurance or just to share my joy with someone, she was there with a smile or a wink. Her warmth and realness made me feel known and beloved and worthy; unsurprising, given her background in mental health. Anyway, our wedding was beautiful and perfect and exactly as I hoped, and Rachel played a large part in making that happen. Highly recommended! -

Rachel is calm, cool, & collected and it shows when it's the big day. She was super responsive, very organized, and made us feel like she had everything taken care of. She is fantastic as a DOC and made sure our event went off flawlessly and in just the way we wanted it. 10/10 would recommend!
P.S. She is also a very cool person to get to know while planning. :) -
Sara Sent on 07/20/2018Rachel is such an amazing wedding planner. She is very attention detailed and ask questions about a lot of things we hadn’t thought about! It made the day go by without a hitch and best of all my mom didn’t have to worry about a thing and could actually enjoy my wedding too! We used her for my sisters wedding as well! Highly recommend her!

Rebecca Sent on 10/07/2017We were married in August of 2017 and used The Flowering Fern (Rachel) as our day of coordinator for our 90 guest backyard wedding and reception. It was hands down the best decision we made when planning our wedding. Rachel met with us twice before the big day (and then again for the rehearsal), spent several hours helping us plan both small and large details (it is amazing how many details that a non-experienced wedding person overlooks!) and she also helped with directing of the rehearsal. She truly thought of everything! As often happens at weddings, not everything went as planned (in our situation, the bride became very ill the night before the wedding). Rachel was presented with a challenge that she had not encountered before and remarkably, the wedding ran smoothly and everyone had a wonderful time.
She was the first one to arrive the morning of the wedding and was the last one to leave. She was extremely professional and accessible by phone and email for several months before the wedding whenever we had questions. She was discreetly present, none of our guests had any idea that we had a day of coordinator, and directed the wedding in a similar manner. No detail was forgotten. We have recommended her to our engaged friends and the bride's sister will be using The Flowering Fern for her wedding next year. Rachel is worth her weight in gold. -
