Let me start off by saying that my wife, my stepdaughter, my family, and i vacation here over the summer. My wife and I decided to see what the Flanders were going to offer us. We meet with Lisa and did a walk around the ballroom and garden room. Lisa made us feel so welcomed and explained our options and answered our questions. We immediately booked our destination wedding which occurred on May 23,2026. All our family and friend reside in Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, Manhattan, Long Island, and New Jersey. Lisa and Molly began to help us find vendors by providing us with a vendor list. We chose everything from their list, and we were very happy with their vendor list. We booked a block of rooms for our family and friends. Lisa and Molly kept in contact with us the entire time. We went down for a food tasting, and we knew this wedding was going to be amazing. We meet the chef and maître d who will be taking care of us. The food was amazing. The room was set up perfectly. Our cocktail hour was great. There was plenty of staff on hand to make out wedding amazing. Lisa and Molly were both honest, professional, caring, and overall friendly. They answered the million emails I sent them, took my phone calls, and helped us from day one till the ending of our wedding weekend with the brunch. The wedding party went on without any hitches or issues. Our guests spoke about how wonderful and attentive the staff was, how beautiful and clean the ballroom was, how clean the bathrooms were, and how amazing the food was. We had plenty of space for dancing, a photobooth, rolling bar, coffee station, and seating for our guests. The food was served at a good pace and served hot. I did not feel rushed at all. When the night was over, the staff packed everything up for us and transported it to our room. The next morning, we hosted a brunch. The staff was so attentive at the brunch. All the breakfast food was so good. They cleared plates and continued to bring out more breakfast items during the whole time. Lisa was with us on the night of the wedding and at the brunch the next day. I have to say, we were so pleased with Lisa and her staff and the Flanders. If you’re looking for a nice, easy going, fun wedding, you need to book here.

We were absolutely blown away by our wedding at The Flanders Hotel. From the grandeur of the hotel, to the charm of the boardwalk, and a perfect beach ceremony - hosting the wedding at The Flanders gave us a little bit of every aesthetic we were hoping for our wedding. I cannot express enough how incredible their staff is! Lisa and Molly were helpful every step of the way! From giving us ideas to personalize our wedding to helping coordinate the walking down the aisle! There are a million reasons we would do our wedding all over again - and being able to work closely with them and be at this gem of a venue is high up on the list! The food was exceptional! All of our guests said it was the best food at a wedding they ever experienced. From spoiling us with several options to 5 star dinner entree meals - our bellies were not disappointed! The rooms were sensational - the hotel hosted several of our guests for the wedding and we heard no complaints. We also rented out one of the Penthouse suites for our getting ready day and it was stunning. The perfect amount of space - and unbelievable decor. We also used so many of their preferred vendors and again - blown away by every single detail. I could honestly go on and on and on about how this venue was the perfect choice for a wedding! I hope you do choose the Flanders and have as spectacular an event as we did!

We had our wedding at the Flanders, and they did an incredible job! The hotel is a gorgeous venue for weddings, and from our first tour it stood out as a unique location that would look great in our photos. The food was excellent; we especially enjoyed the dim sum station at our cocktail hour. Our guests gave rave reviews about their meals.

Lisa and Molly were great coordinators who assured us throughout the whole planning process that everything would go smoothly - and then made it happen! Being an obsessive planner myself, and doing all my decorations myself, I put together a binder of my plans for how each piece should be displayed. Lisa and Molly took that with grace, asked questions where needed, and made it happen!

Joanne was an amazing maitre d' who anticipated our every need. She ensured that the day went perfectly, starting with the moment we walked down the aisle and she gave us some hints for scoring the best photos. She had also clearly read our binder. I was especially impressed when we came out of our ceremony and she had a platter of drinks ready for us and our wedding party while the marriage certificates were being signed. She was able to make a lighting change in one of our decorations happen while we were decompressing after the ceremony. During our Farewell Breakfast the next day, she coordinated packing away our homemade decorations, allowing us to enjoy the event without stress.

Overall, the day went perfectly. It really is true that the best-laid plans will only succeed with a good team, and I feel strongly that we made an excellent choice in trusting this team for our wedding.

This past weekend we held my daughter's wedding and post wedding breakfast at the Flanders Hotel in Ocean City, NJ. It had been a dream of hers since she was 13 years old to get married there. From our initial visit to view the venue to the last drop of mimosa at the wedding breakfast, our experience was top notch! Lisa, Molly, Joanne and the rest of the team made this wedding a dream. The attention to detail, the seamless flow, the service, the food...I can't say enough good things. They thought of things that didn't even cross my mind and would have been a shame to have forgotten. My daughter and I got to enjoy the weekend, knowing that we weren't going to have to do or worry about anything. We also took advantage of the onsite salon and spa. Amy, Heather and Judy were so nice and helpful. I got my makeup done at 7am and it was still flawless when I washed it off at midnight. My hair held up too despite being out in the wind on the boardwalk for photos! If you are planning to get married in Ocean City, NJ, the only place to hold your event is at the Flanders!

I am so happy that we chose The Flanders Hotel. When we first visited, we instantly fell in love with the charm and character of the hotel and the event rooms.. but we were quick to realize that the staff, service, and culinary team is what makes this venue so special. Everyone is warm and inviting, the food is absolutely amazing, and the service is fantastic. Lisa and Molly were quick to respond, so helpful, and honestly felt like family from the beginning of planning until even after the big day. Joann is exceptional and made sure we were well taken care of. Highly highly recommend!

My husband and I got married at the Flanders on 6/1/24. I cannot even begin to explain how truly amazing the staff at the Flanders were for our special day. Lisa, Molly, and JoAnn did an OUTSTANDING job to make our day literally PERFECT! Everything was basically flawless from start to finish- the tasting, the communication back and forth, dance lessons from Lisa. If you want an elegant vibe at the shore, this is truly the place to be!!!! We love you guys! Love, Alyssa, Ben, and Lola :)

Lisa and Megan were my rock through the wedding planning process. I was planning from out of state and from our first meeting I knew they had it all under control. There are too many details to even count where they took care of us and made our wedding day perfect. Everything was very structured, which I appreciated. They had decor you can use if you’d prefer. The service, the food, the environment was above what we were expecting. Flanders will always have a special place in our hearts now.

Our wedding at The Flanders was amazing! From our initial meeting to the last dance, everything flowed smoothly. Lisa and Megan made the whole process seem easy. From our wedding ceremony to the cocktail hour and reception everything flowed seamlessly. Working with Lisa was like having a close friend plan our wedding. She genuinely cared about every detail no matter how small. We received so many compliments on the food! We chose the Asian station for the cocktail hour and it was a huge hit! The meals were delicious and our guests raved about the fun and yummy Taste of the Boardwalk. Our guests were impressed with the service and attentiveness of the staff. Lisa and Megan worked with our vendors to make sure our special day was perfect. They handled all of the small details that I thought we would have to handle ourselves. We truly felt like we were in the best hands and The Flanders definitely delivered. More than one guest told us ours was the best wedding they had ever attended. We felt the same! We highly recommend The Flanders as a top-notch wedding venue. Thank you for a beautiful and perfect wedding!

I am not even sure where to begin! We started months ago with Karen who made our choices and tastings seamless. She made suggestions when we were not sure of something and explained what both the bride and groom and the guests would appreciate the most. Lisa kept in touch with things that needed to be taken care of early on and never hesitated to answer our questions immediately no matter how small or inconsequential they may have been.

Fast forward to about 6 weeks before the wedding. Megan, every few days, gently prodded us on what she still needed from us and a schedule for what we needed to submit. If it had not been for these constant communications this wedding would not have happened. The bride works 50 to 60 hours a week. Megan just said she understood and stayed in constant contact with us. She met with us two days before the wedding. We still had stuff that needed to be given to her and she just calmly told us all would be well.

The day before the wedding came and the groom brought in his own photo booth, signing board, and scaffolding for the windows that would contain the seating charts. Everything was set up for him: a table for the signing board, a spot for the photo booth, and a discussion and great placement of the scaffolding. The windows were not finished and the bride and I were panicking. Megan and Lisa said to send them the names and they would take care of it. The bride thought she had sent them but as we came back from pictures (one hour before the reception) Lisa met us at the door to say they had not received them. Lisa and Megan supplied the bride with paper and pen and she would write down one table at a time hand it to Megan until all were finished. Megan even tried to match the bride's handwriting on the windows!

Now comes the reception! Amazing! We had a raw bar that never ran low as they constantly refilled it and the other appetizers. The mac and cheese bar (of which I was skeptical) was a hit with children and adults alike. Our choices of filet, Chilean sea bass and herb chicken were exceptional along with the service. They took care of allergies that we had submitted to them and others we just found out about that evening. The progression of events went exactly as Megan had said they would. We had to do nothing ourselves and felt like royalty with the way we were treated. In the room where we went to line up was a full tray of the appetizers which I had not had time to eat and I was really appreciative that I got to finally munch on a few! I am still receiving texts and emails from our guests raving about the wedding.

At the end of the reception, Flanders folks gathered left overs, gifts, cards, etc., got them up to our room and made sure the refrigerated things were in the refrigerator.

There are so many more things I could say but I think I got my point across. This was the most phenomenal wedding I have ever attended because of the folks who work at the Flanders! My daughter will have this wonderful memory all of her life!

One more thing, the folks at the front desk were also great: answering questions, giving out gift bags, etc.!

They made a perfect day happen!

The Flanders Hotel produced the absolutely perfect wedding for us on December 3,2022! From our very first meeting with Lisa in January to our final meeting a day before the wedding, she guided us through months of preparation and planning. The final product was nothing short of SPECTACULAR and we could not have been happier with the results. The wedding ceremony in the boardroom was just beautiful and the cocktail hour that followed on the Promenade was equally as beautiful, the staff was SUPER attentive, the atmosphere was amazing! The hors d’oeuvres that were served were incredible and our signature drink was perfectly made! Our reception was held in the garden room which was beautifully decorated to our specifications to a tee! EVERY detail was perfect! Our wedding day was a dream come true, thanks to Lisa, Megan,Andrew and ALL the staff who attended to our every need during the event. We gave the Flanders Hotel, the Catering staff and All the other staff 5 STARS ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ but on a scale of 1-10, they are a 💯! We will never be able to thank everyone involved with our wedding at the Flanders Hotel enough, it was TRULY an Amazing experience!

We had the most perfect, small/intimate wedding in the Garden Room on November 19, 2022. Following our church ceremony, we took photos in the promenade area which was beyond beautiful with great lighting and photo ops. We also took photos on the beach & boardwalk which gave us beautiful & sentimental shots. Following photos, we had our cocktail hour in the promenade. All of our guests LOVED the Hors D'oeuvres and platters offered during this time. We then had our dinner & reception in the Garden Room which was absolutely beautiful! Flanders decorated the space beautifully with navy blue linens, white napkins, gold chargers, and their house gold centerpieces. Our introductions and Grand Entrance were done by walking down a beautiful staircase into the Garden Room which was romantic and sweet. All of the food was very good, and we received many compliments on our wedding. Guests also LOVED the hotel rooms, especially for people with children. The suites made it so easy for guests to spend time with each other in their rooms, as they had a small kitchen & living room space. It was such a great location to have a wedding, and all of our out-of-town guests enjoyed Ocean City. I wouldn't have changed anything about my wedding and would highly recommend Flanders!!

Our wedding was an absolute dream at The Flanders! Megan and Lisa were both fantastic to work with and made the wedding planning process incredibly easy (and fun!). The facilities are stunning, every staff member was wholly accommodating and friendly, and the food beyond delicious. We highly recommend booking The Flanders for any event, especially a wedding!

The Flanders Hotel is absolutely beautiful! The weather was perfect for our beach wedding ceremony! Our reception was at the crystal ballroom which it was absolutely stunning! The food was delicious! Karen and her staff are amazing to work with! I recommend The Flanders Hotel. You won’t be disappointed.

The Flanders Hotel is absolutely beautiful. We hosted our rehearsal dinner, wedding reception, and post-wedding breakfast at the Flanders Hotel. The food is absolutely AMAZING. Karen is so great to work with. She really knows her stuff!! She had excellent recommendations and was SUPER easy to work with. She's very responsive and answered all of our questions quickly and gave us honest feedback when we asked for her opinion and guidance. We opted to get the enhanced package which added several additional options to our cocktail hour, and the "taste of the boardwalk" additional dessert display. Our Cocktail hour was hosted in the Promenade and was absolutely amazing. They were even able to capture the essence of our dog in the form of an ice sculpture!! Our reception was hosted in both of the ballrooms which were gorgeous and really made our wedding feel so elegant. Our Rehearsal dinner and Post-Wedding breakfast were hosted in the Garden room. The Staff at the Flanders is amazing and everyone was so welcoming. I HIGHLY recommend the Flanders Hotel to everyone!

If my family could rate the Flanders Hotel wedding venue higher than a five would give it a 10. The appointments were impeccable from the rehearsal dinner, welcoming party and dinner. Delicious food was served at the correct temperatures. Guests had plenty of appetizers, stations and fabulous service. Since Karen had planned the wedding for the second time due to Covid, we appreciated her patience and understanding. The guest list was constantly changing. But most importantly, the ceremony transitions from the wedding, appetizers, dinner and dancing moved smoothly to the delight of the bride and groom. I was never the type of girl to dream or fantasize about my wedding growing up. I didn't have a lot of vision for what I wanted my wedding to look like. I do know that my wedding at the Flanders Hotel was beyond anything I could have imagined. It was absolutely stunning. Karen Bergman was absolutely wonderful to work with. She promptly answered all of my questions and kept me sane and organized throughout the process. The team at the Flanders works so well to ensure you do not stress about a single moment of the day. I was keeping my fingers crossed for a beach ceremony, but the weather was not favorable for my day. There was no rain, just heavy wind. Karen made it clear that if I wanted the beach ceremony, they would make it happen!! Ultimately we decided to remain indoors for the comfort of ourselves and all of our guests. The ceremony space was quickly and discreetly converted while everyone enjoyed cocktail hour. The food was incredible!! I had many guests come up to me throughout the night to tell me how gorgeous the venue was and how amazing their dinner was. Truly could not have asked for a better night. If you are at all on the fence about choosing the Flanders for your venue, make the choice!! You absolutely will not be disappointed.

We had our wedding at the Flanders and it was absolutely perfect! Karen was incredible to work with throughout the whole process from our first tour until the end of our reception. She made the entire process simple and let us customize the day to be exactly what we wanted. Anne and Lisa were also amazing to work with on our wedding weekend and they made sure everything was running smoothly. On our wedding day I felt like I didn't need to worry about a single thing. We were running a little bit late, but I was never made to feel that way and the goal of everyone around seemed to be that I had everything I needed. On top of all of that, our guests could not stop raving about the food! At every event we've been to since then people still tell us how much they loved the food. Highly, highly recommend! I would trust Karen and the entire staff at the Flanders for any of my future events in a heartbeat!

We were BLOWN AWAY!!! The Flanders went above and beyond every expectation we ever had. My husband and I could not have been happier with our winter wedding. Karen and her staff are amazing. They are so easy to work with and were such a big help throughout the entire planning process. I was so worried about Ocean City being a dry town and was under the impression that getting the alcohol would be difficult. I couldn't have been more wrong. The Flanders put us in touch with Circle Liquors and we were able to serve every single beverage we wanted at our wedding. It even ended up being cheaper for us to do it this way. Circle Liquors delivered to the Flanders and picked up. We did not have to do anything other than decide what we wanted and give our guest count. Guests raved about the food for days. The space was decorated beautifully. They had two huge, real, flock Christmas trees. The Flanders put us in touch with our amazing photographer. The suites in the hotel are amazing. Having everything in one location made it so easy and enjoyable for our guests. I could go on and on. Our day could not have been more perfect. Choosing the Flanders was the best decision we made.

We could not be happier with our wedding at the Flanders. As healthcare professionals fighting COVID-19, we just wanted to have a wedding as close as what we imagined as possible, but with all the safety protocols required to protect our elderly guests. While we downsized from 150 to 35 guests, The Flanders made every accommodation they could to make sure everyone felt safe and we had the wedding we envisioned. Karen was the wedding planner we never knew we needed! The Flanders was affordable, flexible and luxurious. They make sure you have the wedding you deserve. From Karen, Joanne and John at the Flanders, not only did we have an unforgettable experience, but also felt safe celebrating with our guests. We cannot stop raving about how much fun we had and look forward to planning our next event at the Flanders!

Words cannot describe how amazing Karen Bergman and the Flanders were in making our special day happen. We had to reschedule due to Covid. Karen put in long hours on her own personal time to keep me updated on changing rules from the governor and options we had. Karen was going to do anything it took to make sure my husband and I had the beautiful wedding we had dreamed of. We could not have done this without her! The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were very accommodating. We really loved Joann, Griffin and Anita at the front desk. Will was also wonderful in making sure our reception went smoothly and our vendors were taken care of. Our penthouse was clean and spacious. My husband and I HIGHLY recommend the Flanders to all engaged couples!

The Flanders Hotel did an excellent job working with us and hosting our wedding during the 2020 COVID Pandemic. We were forced to change our wedding date twice because of the restrictions imposed by the COVID-19. Furthermore, the state of New Jersey implemented a ban on indoor dining which meant that our event had to take place entirely outside. Karen Bergman at the Flanders Hotel did an incredible job working with us and her team at the hotel to ensure we had a beautiful outdoor wedding venue by the pool. While our wedding was not what we planned, it ended up being better than we could have ever imagined because Karen and the Flanders did such a good job walking us through every step of the way. I would strongly encourage every couple looking for the perfect New Jersey beach wedding to explore what the Flanders has to offer.

My gosh, where do we start?

Our experience with the Flanders was nothing short of 5 star. From our first meeting with Karen to the big day and everything in between, the service was flawless. Karen (Catering Manager/Event Planner) was so congenial, helpful and kind. Her knack for planning, decorative taste and ability to bring the most exceptional experience was so impressive. Our wedding day was spectacular thanks to her help and every guest raved about the food/service. I will be recommending The Flanders to anyone who will listen, indefinitely!

I can’t even put into words how much I love the Flanders. I had my wedding on 9.21.19 and it was the best day of my life. The best food and service. Everyone is so accommodating. My guests still are raving about the servers and there experience. Karen is AMAZING. She is so attentive and made the whole experience so easy. This venue is so special to me now. It’s gorgeous inside and just so unique. I went to one venue when I was looking and it was this one and I booked the next day. I would recommend the Flanders to anyone looking to have the perfect Jersey shore wedding with a vintage antique feel. I’m still at a loss for how great the whole day was. All of my guests said it was the best wedding they have ever been too with the most amazing food!!

It has only been 2 days since our wedding at the Flander's Hotel and I want to let everyone know that the service and care provided throughout our whole wedding ordeal was exceptional. Karen and her assistant Gina were so easy to work with. Words cannot explain how grateful and lucky I am to be able to work them. Especially to Karen, who is one of the most fun, flexible, and patient person to work with! Our guests loved the food and everyone thought the venue was beautiful. Our wedding was perfect and it probably wouldnt have turned out that way if I didnt have it at the Flanders! Quoting from my 11 years old nephew, "F" stands for fancy. The Flanders Hotel really is a beautiful, magestic, and fancy looking venue with staff that strives to provide the best customer service.

This is the most fabulous place to have a wedding! Karen and her staff are the outstanding in their knowledge and professionalism. You can rest easy knowing they have everything under control. Our guests are still telling us what a great wedding it was and how delicious the food is. It was a magical night In part due to the elegance of this hotel, great food and great staff.

We got married recently at The Flanders Hotel and it was the best day of my life! Karen and team worked with me to make all my childhood OCNJ dreams come to life at my wedding. From preps pizza to oceanside views, everything was PERFECT! Karen, Jenn, and Gina are AMAZING to work with! They are responsive, eased all my concerns, and were always willing to work with me. They never answered me with a no when I was dreaming up a wedding aspect, but instead worked with me to make it happen - it was amazing! I am a control freak and was worried my day would not come to life - but Gina decorated everything just perfectly! I never even had to worry the moment the day began as everything went perfect. The venue is amazing as well. It is breath-taking beautiful with endless details. It gives an elegant but beachy vibe with the gorgeous amusement park lights in the windows of the crystal ballroom. Overall -- they provide amazing food, amazing decor and a great group of people to work with. We did the ceremony and reception here and it was perfect. Everyone had a blast and I am still getting compliments weeks later. Thank you for everything, we are so grateful we chose the Flanders for the most important day of our lives.

We got married May 10, 2019 at The Flanders Hotel. Karen was outstanding from the day we met to discuss our wedding plans. Karen and her team made our entire experience simple and stress free. Everything we discussed and requested, was delivered on point by Karen and her team. She was professional, yet personable, and accommodating. The food was excellent and service was top notch. Our guests were impressed with the service and quality of food, including the overabundance of hors d'oeuvre served. Karen and her team exceeded our expectations and we highly recommend the venue.

What can I say but wow ! Karen is amazing ! Karen and Gina went above and beyond to make our day amazing. I never thought our reception would be that amazing, beautiful and fun! I so happy we chose the Flanders and did something different. Everyone told us how perfect and much fun they had. I wish I could relive webery second of it!!!

My husband and I had our wedding at the Flanders Hotel late September, 2018 and we couldn’t be happier with how our wedding weekend unfolded. We are long time OCNJ vacationers and wanted to get married on the beach. The Flanders provided us with exactly what we were looking for and more!

We were blown away by the overall experience we had. The Flanders was exactly what we were looking for in terms of food, atmosphere, scenery and overall experience. Karen and the rest of the Flanders staff were nothing but helpful leading up to our wedding and during the course of our wedding weekend. Karen and her staff were extremely professional and provided quality customer service. We received wonderful feedback from family and friends on how amazing each part of our wedding was.

We had our rehearsal dinner in the beautiful Garden Room and wedding in the gorgeous Crystal and Candlelight Ballrooms. The food was excellent on both nights and our guests gave us nothing but rave reviews on the quality of food. We are so happy we chose the Flanders for our wedding venue! It is the perfect venue for an OCNJ wedding!

If you are searching for a wedding venue, you no longer need to look. We had our wedding here in August 2018 and it was spectacular. Karen and Jenn are absolutely top notch professionals. They handled all of our questions and requests with ease and knowledge. Trusting somebody with the details of your wedding can be stressful, but Karen and Jenn make everything happen flawlessly. Leading up to the wedding, they were on top of everything each step of the way. The weekend/day of was smooth as can be. The food was absolutely delicious and everybody was raving about the amount of options and the freshness of the food. We've been to many, many weddings in a variety of settings and I am proud to say that we had our wedding at the Flanders. It is the most organized, well-run, delicious, friendly, put together venue we have been to. The staff are absolutely wonderful as well - we heard many compliments from our guests on how they were treated. One of our guests was pooped on by a seagull walking into the wedding and they took his shirt and laundered it! Talk about service. I cannot recommend this place enough!!

The Flanders Hotel and Karen, wedding planning director hold a very special place in my heart. My best friend Shannon got married here 5 years ago, and I fell in love with this place. I got engaged and the first and only place I thought of was this venue. My fiance loved it right away as well! So we got married here this past August. Karen worked patiently with me as I was the most relaxed bride ever! Unfortunately it rained on our wedding day, but Karen made sure the plan B was even BETTER. Our guests absolutely LOVED catered food and their entree, staffs were so friendly. My best friend who got married here first was of course, my MOH. We thank all staffs and Karen for such a beautiful, memorable night.

We recently got married at The Flanders Hotel and it was the most perfect day ever, thanks to Karen and her wonderful staff. I cannot say enough good things about this place and its people. From the front desk, to the chef, to the amazing wedding coordinators, Karen and Jenn, this is a TOP NOTCH place with TOP NOTCH people.

Karen and Jenn were an absolute dream to work with from start to finish. They were always responsive, helped with my many questions, eased my concerns, and took care of everything the day of our wedding. I’m an avid planner, and a control freak, so I feared I wouldn’t be able to calm down and enjoy my day, but Karen and Jenn completely took over and I was at such an ease on my wedding day - I had nothing to worry about it, thanks to them!

This venue has everything you could want for your wedding -- they provide amazing food, amazing decor and a great group of people to work with. They have so many great rooms to choose from that we also held our ceremony here - it was just too beautiful not to! This is a great spot on the boardwalk for a beach wedding, but it also served as a wonderful backdrop to our vintage, romantic, fairy tale inspired day. My husband and I can’t stop talking about how wonderful our day was and it’s all thanks to The Flanders. Thank you for everything, we are so grateful!

Karen and Jen along with the whole Flander's staff were beyond amazing!! They were responsive with emails and questions I had, flexible with the ideas, and very friendly! I couldn't have asked for a team to work with. I always dreamed of having my wedding at the Flander's since I was a little girl. I went to an American Girl Doll show there as a child and saw a bride taking pictures on the promenade and I always remembered that moment. The Flanders was an absolutely amazing wedding venue for my husband and I. From the moment we set foot in there to take our first look I knew it was for us! The hotel is just gorgeous and if you like chandeliers as much as I do this is perfect for you too. From start to finish Karen and The Flanders staff were very welcoming, accommodating, and very helpful. Karen made sure everything was taken care of and perfect for us. Our tasting was terrific and we were always welcome to stop in to check things out beforehand. We had our rehearsal dinner in the garden room and it was terrific. Long over due. We got married on Jan 2nd of 2016 and it was the best wedding we could have imagined. The venue was beautiful, and all our guest left beyond happy. Food was impeccable, and service/staff throughout the affair was amazing. Karen Bergman was incredible from the beginning of the planning process to the end, even dealing with some of our unorthodox requests.

Professionally, I am a musician who plays at 40-50 weddings a year and can't compliment the Flanders enough. Our wedding at the Flanders was beyond our expectations and we are still thrilled with how our big day turned out!

We booked The Flanders without even seeing it in person! My (now) husband and I live in Boston, but wanted an Ocean City wedding on the beach. As we finally have time to sit and reflect about our recent wedding ceremony and reception at The Flander's Hotel, we only have wonderful things to say. We wanted to get married on the beach and we also wanted our friends and family to be a part of our big day, so when we found The Flander's in Ocean City we quickly realized that our dream beach wedding didn't not have to be held at a distant destination. We live 2 hours away from Ocean City, which some may think could make planning challenging, but Karen Bergman and Gabrielle Davis were responsive and easy to get a hold of remotely. Everything was planned to a "T" and we didn't have to be local to plan our perfect day. We had a lot of special requests for our wedding including changing the ceremony chair configuration, extending our cocktail hour, changing the set up of the Candlelight Ballroom and making the "Boardroom" a bar and lounge area - Karen and Gabrielle were excited and eager to give us what we wanted. Our guests are STILL talking about the wedding, and they all looked amazing in our black tie optional affair. One hundred of our one hundred and forty guests stayed at the hotel and were pleased with the accomodations. The ballroom was absolutely stunning, the dance floor was packed the entire time, and the bartenders did a fantastic job of keeping everyone ready to dance. The service and the food were also perfect. Our guests keep telling us that they can't believe the food was so delicious. Our parents are getting letters from their friends about the wonderful occasion. I could write this review for hours, just know that if you are a bride/bride, groom/groom or bride/groom couple trying to plan your wedding and you want a flawless celebration, you cannot go wrong with The Flanders Hotel.

We cannot speak highly enough about The Flanders venue and wedding crew (Karen, Gabrielle, Glenn)! We fell in love with The Flander's historic, yet beachy, feel and knew immediately that we had to get married there! With storms threatening our wedding weekend, and our beach ceremony washed away, Karen and her staff made sure we still had a beautiful event. It could not have been more perfect! The food was amazing, the decor was gorgeous and the service was excellent. If only we could have a Flanders wedding every year!!!!!

I think the best decision we made in our wedding planning was picking the Flanders for our ceremony, reception and rehearsal dinner. Karen was an absolute pleasure to work with. She obviously loves her job (and is great at it) and her enthusiasm was fantastic. She came up with some great ideas for our wedding (from food to decor) and was fantastic at letting us personalize a lot of the details to our own tastes. From the fish and chips station and pimms' cup at our cocktail hour to the late night boardwalk snack with manco and manco pizza, Karen made sure that our wedding reflected our personalities and tastes. She is incredibly, responsive, detail-oriented, professional and, above all, fun and and a pleasure to work with.

The venue itself is gorgeous and perfect for hosting your whole weekend - from the rehearsal dinner in the garden room to a ceremony on the beach and dinner and dancing in the two ballrooms, the Flanders is a great venue. It also includes a ton of things other venues charge extra for - a massive assortment of linens in tons of colors, beautiful chairs that don't require chair covers, a ton of decor that you can use free of charge and the use of a great wedding coordinator. Also a huge plus that you can bring your own alcohol - a massive cost savings!

The Flanders Hotel gave our daughter and her fiance a beautiful rehearsal dinner, day after breakfast, and most importantly, the wedding ceremony and reception. While the Nor'easter and Hurricane Juaquin threw a major damper on the planned beach ceremony, they did not ruin a thing in the end. In fact, we all felt that the inside ceremony turned out to be the most perfect ceremony that we could have ever imagined.

Now, to the food. To be short and sweet, the food was "sheer perfection". The guests could not stop raving about the rehearsal dinner food. Then, there was the food at the cocktail hour. Everyone said the raw bar, sushi and butlered hors d'oeuvres were phenominal. Finally, the reception. We heard from many guests that their filets came out the exact way they requested. They were stunned by this fact. And, it just melted in their mouths. In addition, the Sea Bass was tender and delectible.

We could not have done this without the experienced assistance and guidance of Karen B. (Director of Catering) and Gabrielle D. (Catering Assistant). Their contstant attention to our needs and concerns was amazing; and their assistance went beyond what we expected. They were confident and reassuring during this very stressful time (due to the Nor'Easter and Hurricane Juaqin).

With all of the many wedding venues available in the Southern New Jersey Shore area, The Flanders is by far the most unique and the most welcoming. It is stepping back in time to the granduer of the early 1900's. Every banquet room is prettier than the next. In addition, the suite guest rooms were lovely. Each one is unique and provides a "home away from home" feel.

We were starting to lose all hope of finding a venue down the shore that could accommodate a wedding of about 100 people on a Saturday in June. The Flanders had an absolutely beautiful room for the reception that my hubby and I loved and they were extremely mindful of our budget. Karen and her team at the Flanders get 5 stars all the way around. My husband and I got married on June 6th 2015. We were supposed to get married out on the beach, but mother-nature wasn't having it. Karen and her team made the boardroom look absolutely picture perfect for our ceremony. The cocktail hour was in the promenade and the reception in the Garden Room, every detail was just what we wanted and more. We did lots of DIY projects and Karen was so good about making sure every detail was placed just where we wanted it. She even set up the flipflop basket we had for guests for the beach ceremony in the reception so our guests could kick off their heals and dance, it was a such a hit my cousin did the same thing for her wedding in September, and we were happy all that work didn't go to waste. We had lots of out of town guests who loved the accommodations and location of the hotel. We rented the penthouse ocean front suite for Friday and Saturday night, my girls and I got ready there together the morning of, we had guests come back there after the reception was over and we hosted a breakfast for our guests staying at the hotel the morning after the wedding. It was an added expenses but well worth budgeting for! The room and the views were amazing! We have heard from many guests, many who have had their own children marry recently, that our wedding was the best wedding they had ever been to. Don't hesitate to book your wedding with the Flanders, it ticks all the boxes that make a picture perfect wedding day, beautiful venue, outstanding service, delicious food, and can't beat location.

I honestly cannot thank Karen enough for all her help creating the absolute most perfect dream wedding for my Husband and myself. The food was sensational, served hot and delicious as promised. The Chef was fantastic and catered to everything we asked, he is young and you can tell he loves what he does, he's got a great eye for a beautiful plate. Karen's Assistant Gabrielle was incredibly helpful as well and listened to all my decorating ideas at our meeting the night before our wedding. I cant say enough good about this venue, its beautiful, timeless, classic, romantic. The staff does an impeccable job from start to finish, they are a fantastic team.

The Flanders Hotel made our day even more special than I could have imagined. From day 1, their banquet and catering staff, Karen Bergman and Becky Norton Woods always made us feel like we were all that mattered. They listened to what we envisioned, made suggestions and offered us a once in a lifetime wedding day. For over a year, they never let us down any time we contacted them with updates or questions. They were very quick to respond and provided all the information we needed.

We added a lot of personal touches to our wedding and we were nervous that we put too much on their plate to set-up. They took the time to understand each and every item we provided them and pulled it off better than I could have myself.

The banquet room looked absolutely stunning and the wedding ceremony was ran perfectly thanks to their assistance. Chef Blake has such a talent that I cannot wait to have another event there to have his food. Our guests stated that was the best lamb chops (cocktail hour) and Chilean sea bass (entree) they ever had in their lives.

The reception staff were constantly making sure we were okay and also our parents were okay at all times. The professionalism in that building is goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and like you are in good hands.

How we found them, we're still not quite clear about all the details - but perhaps you should ask them, because the details were what made the day special, easy, and fun. We didn't have a big wedding, which made the little things all that more important - and the little things were what sang loudest in our day there. The day itself is overwhelming, planning is overwhelming - we did it, handed it over to them, and were just able to enjoy it. The moment I walked into The Flanders, I was in LOVE with the antique and vintage decor and the feel of every room I saw! We met Karen, the wedding coordinator, and I was seriously blown away by all that she offered and how personable she was. She listened to my whole vision of wanting an old hollywood 1920s themed wedding and helped me create it from the moment I met her! I knew for sure after meeting her that my wedding was going to be at The Flanders!

Besides Karen being amazing, chef Mike makes THEE most delicious food i've ever had. Especially the filet mignon! I have a gluten allergy, and my mother in law has a bad shellfish allergy. He went out of his way to accommodate us which meant a lot. The entire night of my wedding everything went perfectly. Not one thing went wrong! The ENTIRE Flanders staff was so incredibly great! Extremely friendly, helpful, and always there for us and our guests. I had over 200 people at my wedding and everyone i've seen after has raved about the food and the service, which are HUGE factors in having your dream wedding! We even had Manco and Manco pizza at the end of our wedding which was a hit! We honestly can't be any happier with The Flanders....they went above and beyond to give me my dream wedding!

AMAZING VENUE- I LOVE KAREN BERGMAN! If you are thinking of a beach wedding that still has a formal class to it, please seriously consider here! We got married this June 8th and hosted a destination wedding for our guests. We used the Flanders for a welcome party the night before, the reception, and for a Sunday brunch- each night so incredible. Our welcome party looked like a wedding itself (Karen surprised us with providing table clothes to match our colors) and the pies were notably delicious. We hosted a very casual BBQ buffet for the welcome party, just as an idea for you! The wedding itself was picture perfect- Multiple people told me our pictures look like a post card- and we believe them. Also, we are in the restaurant business at home, and can be service & food snobs. Please know- the food is unbelievable and delivered in such a time efficient manner. Try the crabcakes- real meat. The beach set-up was perfect as well- honestly exactly what I dreamed it to be like. I am mostly writing this review though bc Karen is a wedding god. She made us SO relaxed because she takes care of every detail. Every email I sent with random questions was met with a detailed reply from either herself or Anne. Every idea I had, she matched with an even better one, and executed an amazing event. I have a picture of her standing by me before I walked down the aisle, and it pretty much sums up the relationship you will have with her. She will be there for you every step of the way, and is very honest with budget expectations, other vendor referrals, etc. She sincerely cares and it shows. I wish I could get married again to my husband so we could work with Karen all over. You will be so happy you hosted you wedding there. Guests are still telling us that our wedding was the best yet. We owe that to Karen... And of course Chef Michael- who even came out to thank us during the reception. Love this place and will be spending anniversaries here for years to come.

The food provided through the Flanders was DELISCIOUS! We opted for the Filet and Crab Cakes - you could cut the filet with a butter knife and the crab cakes are all crab no filler - The cocktail hour and stations were huge hits and everyone complimented the food! You have a tasting with your caterer and you always assume the day of food will be slightly less great but not at the Flanders I think it was even better on the day of our wedding!

I can not begin to say how amazing our wedding ceremony and celebration were at The Flander's - It has been my dream my whole life to have my big day there and it was even more then I could have asked for. They were responsive, enjoyable to work with and executed my thousands of vintage ideas in a way that made me feel overwhelmed in the best way possible! The Flanders was amazing!! Everything was perfect. We had planned for a beach ceremony, however we were hit by Hurricane Hanna the DAY of our wedding. Julie and staff did a phenominal job of recreating our beach set-up indoors. I could not have asked for a better venue or staff to have on my wedding day. The Flanders Hotel hosted my June 2014 wedding. I have been going to OCNJ since I was a baby and had always known of the historic Flanders but never once stepped foot in it. I was trying to decide on a destination wedding but was bummed about not having all our friends attend. That's when I stumbled across local (I'm from Philly area) beach weddings online. Right away I thought, what Ocean City venues are there that could host our event? It was no contest that Flanders was it, but on a modest budget we just didn't know about them. I made an appointment with Karen and researched the venue like crazy. I couldn't find a negative review anywhere. We met with Karen and went over our options.

I still cannot believe how reasonable the packages are! We are more nontraditional and didn't choose a standard wedding package (no dancing, no booze) and they still treated us like royalty. The a la carte options were perfect for us. We picked a beautiful beach ceremony package from about 10 different styles and got high end foods for the reception; filet mignon, chilean sea bass, amazing dessert tray. We were able to really personalize our wedding to fit our tastes. We had brought in all the pieces to make a really great candy buffet and the staff didn't have up help set up at all! They made it look spectacular. Same goes for all the little details, centerpieces. With no interruptions to me on the day, it all looked flawless!

I could go on for pages about Karen, her staff, and the beautiful facility. They really were nothing shy of perfection. My groom and I were both thrilled to have given all our trust to The Flanders because our big day was perfect!!

I loved!!! Flanders. Everyone said how great all the food was, from the apps to the dinner and dessert. It was so inexpensive for the quality of food we received. They were easier to work with and the vintage hotel was gorgeous.

The staff was great to deal with, the service night of was wonderful, and the food was excellent. We had tons of emails after the wedding from guests raving about how great the food was.... 'not great just for a wedding- but truly great food!' In terms of value, you can't beat a venue where you can BYO your alcohol, and if anything starts to run low they'll run more over. We had our ceremony on the beach and the set up looked great. We opted out of extra chairs since our ceremony was less than 10 minutes long and I'm glad we didn't waste the extra money for those few minutes. We had them bring out all the boardwalk food around 10pm all around the dance floor so people could grab food and eat it while they kept on dancing which people loved. If you need help in the planning/decorations Karen and her staff have great ideas and items for you to use. I, on the other hand, had my own ideas, and strong opinions on what I wanted, so it did take a few conversations/requests to get them to deviate from what they typically do and execute what I wanted. It was so helpful to have Karen as not only the main contact at the venue, but she also acts as day-of coordinator which takes away lots of stress and even ran our beach ceremony rehearsal the night before- she wears a ton of hats and does it well! We had some guests who had a little too much fun at the wedding and Karen had everything so much under control that we didn't even find out about going 'amiss' until the next day- she's a true pro! At first I was hesitant with the venue because we wanted one big room so that people who were sitting and dancing were all in the same space, as well as the bar. The set up with all the doors opening the spaces to each other, as well as the lounge they set up in the back of the huge ballroom made it feel like one room.

THE FOOD WAS GOOD. THE SERVICE WAS ON TIME AND ACCURATE. THE ROOMS FOR GUESTS WERE EXPENSIVE.

All staff at the Flanders Hotel were extremely professional. The food was amazing. Our guests cannot stop raving about the food from the cocktail hour to the sit-down dinner. We had 200 guests and they were very accommodating. We also had a beach wedding with the Flanders and they did a fabulous job setting up for the ceremony as well as leading the guests to where they needed to be throughout the day. We stayed in the Presidential Suites and all rooms were beautiful. Our wedding was perfect and we have the Flanders to thank!

The Flanders is beautiful, and the location on the boardwalk is great. We had the candlelit ballroom for dining and the crystal ballroom for dancing--it was great to have a separate space for the two. Our guests said the cocktail hour went smoothly and that the food was great. The coordinator, Karen, is really easy to work with, and overall, my husband and I were very happy with the way the reception turned out.

Wonderful place for a wedding. Dear Brides-to-be: If you are hoping to have your wedding in Ocean City, NJ, or anywhere along the Jersey Shore for that matter, I hope you consider having it at the Flanders Hotel. I cannot recommend it more highly. It is a beautiful space, inside and out, and the food is absolutely amazing. Our ceremony was on the beach, and we used the Crystal Ballroom for our reception and the outdoor area of Emily's Restaurant for our rehearsal dinner. (Be advised, the outside area of Emily's is basically in an amusement park. This worked out great for us and our guests, but if you're looking for something a little more refined and quiet enough to play some tunes, request something inside. The garden room is also lovely.) You are not obligated to book their preferred vendors for music, alcohol, flowers etc,but their list of recommendations is excellent and extremely beneficial. And don't be intimidated by Ocean City's "Dry Town" status. You can have alcohol at your reception and rehearsal dinner. In fact, you will probably save money, as you can bring it in yourself from the local liquor store. (We used Circle Liquor, right over the bridge, and they were excellent.) If you've already started your wedding planning, then I'm sure you're well aware that there will be little hiccups and miscommunications along the way, but rest assured that the staff at the Flanders, led by Karen, Anne and Chef Mike will go out of their way to resolve any matters. My own journey with them started with a pretty big miscommunication, and they went above and beyond to not only resolve the issue, but make my wedding better than I could have ever possibly imagined. Book early, stay on top of your communications, and if you go with them, treat them well. These are good people who truly value their town, and if you do too, your wedding if going to be epic. I was having a hard time finding exactly what I wanted in a reception site. I knew I wanted to get married on the beach, but I wanted a reception site with a classic elegance. I came across the Flanders while doing an online search and immediately knew that was where we would have our reception. They were amazing! Every detail was taken care of from the ceremony to cockail hour to the reception. The food was great and the facility itself is gorgeous. We could not have expected better service or a more beautiful reception. It was exactly what we expected!

We opted to work with Ann Sloane and found her to be accommodating, quick to answer our questions and a pleasure to work with. Our experience prior to working with Ann was not the best but once the switch was made everything worked out beautifully. Their setup on the beach was perfect on an absolutely gorgeous day. The reception was great. Our guests raved about the food and service. Our big day was everything we could have hoped for.

I did expect more for the money, but they were really sweet and added no extra stress. They also were wonderful in trying to fix my cake.

Truthfully, this is a very beautiful venue. The food is excellent. But working with them as a vendor leaves a lot to be desired. They are not very responsive or communicative. They are also not very helpful. If you are planning a wedding for the first time and don't know where to begin, don't expect any help or communication regarding what you need to/should do. The "coordinators" are just a sales team to get you to choose them and spend with them. At the end of the day, we had a beautiful wedding and they worked with us to right their wrongs. But in retrospect I would not go with them and I would not recommend them.
