As a child, Holly, like most little girls, dreamed of the fairy tale wedding. Rarely, however, are the expectations of that dream-day met. Those unfortunate brides must not have had their wedding take place at Southern Oaks Plantation.
To Bobby, Sue and family: a simple (or even an enthusiastic) “Thank You” seems inadequate. From the day we booked, you promised you would take care of everything – that you would make it special. That promise was kept and then some. Every expectation we had was exceeded. The grounds and house were exquisite. You all were so considerate, prepared and efficient to the extent that you appeared to have the ability to anticipate every request, or prevent anything that could have potentially caused a hiccup, that evening.
From the bride approaching in the carriage to the spectacular fireworks and confetti after the ceremony, the evening was magical on a Disney scale (and believe me, it did not go unnoticed that, after a full week of rain prior to January 11, 2013, the rain mysteriously stopped 5 minutes before you opened the gates!). Once inside for the reception your staff tended to the all the guests, as well as the bride, groom and families, as if they were royalty. Always smiling and at the ready, but never under foot.
All of our family from the “trendy” West Coast who attended still talk about the food at “the most incredible wedding they’ve ever attended.” They were amazed that the food was not merely plentiful, but that during the entire three hour reception, there were no “re-runs” - they never saw the same tray twice! Each pass of the servers brought something innovative, memorable and tasty.
We hope our next opportunity to attend a function at Southern Oaks comes soon. We do have one regret, however, and that is that we don’t have more daughters…

Absolutely loved our wedding at southern oaks! It was completely magical. The staff, the food, and everything else was incredible. The cost was worth every penny. They basically do the work for you and we could not ask for a better place to get married.

My wedding was amazing. The staff was always there when I needed them. My drink never ran dry! The place is beautiful and the food is amazing!

From out first contact with Southern Oaks, to the time we left married, the staff made us feel special, like VIPs and most importantly, we had the wedding of our dreams.

Southern Oaks is an amazing venue and I know they're booked far in advance, I know they have a set routine for their weddings, but they made our special day feel like it was the only wedding they were hosting this year.

Our friends and relatives are still talking about the food, the staff and the amazing venue of our wedding.

I can't say enough about Southern Oaks, Kyle and the rest of the staff there. We loved having our wedding there so much, that I recommended it to my coworker that's getting married and hope that Angela and I get to go there again sometime in the near future for a friends wedding.

I can't stress enough how happy I am with our decision to get married at Southern Oaks Plantation. I have received so many complements - countless guests have told me that they have never attended a nicer wedding. The staff at Southern Oaks knows EXACTLY what they are doing. No stone is left unturned. They have every single detail covered for you, no matter how small it may seem.
The food is out of this world, and there's plenty of it. The service is second to none. My husband and I had our own personal attendants the night of the wedding, and they saw to it that we got a chance to have some private time together to eat. They were always available to get us a fresh cocktail or let us know what was coming up next. And it gets better - our parents also had attendants and wanted for nothing!
The place is absolutely beautiful. I feel like I got so much for my money. The plantation gorgeous, and at night when the mansion is lit up it is truly breathtaking.
Often times you hear brides say that no matter how much planning goes into your wedding, something will always go wrong. Well that certainly was not the case at Southern Oaks - absolutely nothing went wrong. I feel that our night was perfect, and if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing.

I really don't even know where to begin. My husband and I were married at Southern Oaks on 10/5/12 and it truly was the most incredible night of my life. Southern Oaks literally thinks of EVERYTHING--you, your bridal party, your family, and your guests won't have to worry about a thing. My main point of contact was Kyle and he was absolutely fantastic. The entire night flows perfectly; the attendants tell you exactly where to be and when and you will have a full glass and anything you can think of at your fingertips the entire night! The bride and groom, parents of the bride and groom, and bridal party all get their own personal attendants which was really great. 95% of our guests were from out of town, including us, and told us multiple times how beautiful the wedding was, how superb the service was and couldn't stop raving about the food--DELISH (yes, I got to eat at my own wedding because SOP sets up a private candlelit dinner for the bride and groom to eat for a few minutes without any interruptions!) If you can swing it, get the horse and carriage, jazz band, and photo booth-- our guests absolutely loved it! I could seriously go on and on about SOP but I'm going to stop myself. If you want to keep your sanity during the planning process, go with SOP! One stop shop and so amazingly beautiful! They really are a first class establishment and will do just about anything for you to have your perfect fairy tale wedding.

My wife and I had our wedding reception at Southern Oaks Plantation and I'm not exagerating when I say everything went perfectly. They knew exactly how to time the reception and moved events such as first dance, photos and cake cutting along perfectly. There was a personal attendant for all the parents, my wife and myself and they always made sure our drinks were full in addition to taking care of all other needs. In terms of decore and food everything looked and tasted great. Appetizers and deserts were passed around continuously through the night; there was never a shortage. All in all, Southern Oaks was superbly proffesional and efficient while exuding refinement and class. Without a doubt I would recommend their services to any couple.

My wedding was literally perfect!!!

There really aren't enough words in the dictionary to describe how AMAZING our entire experience with Southern Oaks was. From the beginning, I was a timid bride who didn't have the courage or energy to completely dive in with planning and executing the size of wedding we wanted (150-175 guests). Overwhelming is an understatement! BUT…when my sister in law recommended Southern Oaks, my husband and I packed up and met with them ASAP and FELL.IN.LOVE!!! Yes, the venue is unbelievably gorgeous. It's out of this entire world BUT, that wasn't what got us the most. The staff were out of this world friendly and accommodating! If we ever had a question about anything, they had the answer RIGHT when I called. There were never any of the "I'm not sure, let me get back to you"s going on. They always know the answer right then and there and I loved that. I never had to plan a single thing..no clean up, no stress, no pulling my hair out! We showed up the day before the wedding, gave them the extras we needed (candles, guestbook,bridal party details) and they handled it all. Our guests NEVER stopped complimenting us on the venue and they all assured that the wedding would never be topped!! One of our friends has even booked her wedding at SOP now!! My husband and I can't wait to be able to attend a wedding there..to eat, drink, and bask in the awesomeness that is SOP! We already know we want our 10 year anniversary there!! You won't be disappointed!!!!

I don't even know where to begin with Southern Oaks. Every single detail that you will never think about, they've already analyzed it and give you the best experience. There were 4 people devoted just to serving the bride, groom, and their parents around the clock. They follow your every direction, even if it's strange and specific. The food is beyond amazing, and all of my guests made sure to tell me about it! They are a real class act over there, and I will never forget just how perfect my day was. They even box up a piece of each cake and a bunch of different foods for you and put it in the limo so that you have something to eat when you get back to your hotel because they know you are starving, even though they make sure you have time to eat in between your pictures and the first dance. They really do think of everything! We also took advantage of the new photobooth they have and the jazz band that they offer, and both of those were well worth the money! You get all of the pictures from the photobooth once hte wedding is over on a USB stick, and I am still having guests tell me how much fun they had with it. The jazz band keeps everone preoccupied while you're taking pictures so they don't come looking for you. Absolute perfection!

AMAZING IN EVERY WAY! MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT I MARRIED THE PERFECT MAN & I CANT GET MARRIED HERE EVERY YEAR!!!!! Staff & food were AMAZING!!!! Made us feel like royalty! The grounds are so beautiful! Also I wish I lived in New Orleans so I would be invited to weddings that weren't mine there. It seems to fly by. I love love love love love this place. They made it so easy to have a destination wedding! This doesn't even begin to say how wonderful they were!!!!!

The staff was wonderful. They did so much to make the day perfect. The food was delicious!! My guests are still talking about how good it was, saying it was the best wedding food they have ever eaten! The grounds were gorgeous. I love this place!!

We had our ceremony at dusk outside of Southern Oaks. We heard from multiple guests that it was the most beautiful ceremony. I would definitely recommend spending the extra money for the carriage ride. I actually heard guests gasp when they saw me come out in the carriage.

The reception went smoothly. We were able to try our food, which was delicious! The DJ did a great job and was able to get everyone on the dance floor. We had a blast!

For any brides who are planning an out-of-town wedding in NOLA, I would definitely consider Southern Oaks!! You will be able to give your guests some NOLA flavor, without all the stress of worrying about different vendors. They plan everything for you, and the venue is absolutely gorgeous. Your pictures will be stunning.

Southern Oaks was a dream come true! The outdoor ceremony was amazing (and beautiful) and the indoor reception was...well....amazing! The staff is so helpful and informative. They truly care about every detail of your wedding and they make sure everything for your day goes off without a hitch! I really can't say enough about this wonderful staff. During the reception the bride and groom along with their parents have 'personal attendants' that keep their drinks full and make sure all their needs are met. The attendants let you know when it is time for everything to happen (cake cutting, tosses, ect..). The week of your wedding you have a rehearsal with just you and your fiance and they walk you thru EVERYTHING you can expect to happen. They really put your mind at ease.

I would really need a book to tell you about all of the great things we experienced with southern oaks. This was by far the best decision we made in our planning process. The place is beyound gorgeous and service is unbeatable.

The entire Southern Oaks staff, especially my main contact Kyle, were extremely helpful and professional throughout the entire planning process. Southern Oaks made planning a wedding easy. The knowledgeable staff was able to provide as much advice and guidance as I needed while still integrating my own ideas to make the wedding our own. If there is anything you don't understand or would like to change from the contract they provide, just ask -- they are very willing to work with you. Our wedding day was flawless!

I had my reception here and I can't add much that hasn't been said. It was truly wonderful. The property is stunning and elegant and the food was absolutely delicious. I am from the area and my family said some of the seafood was the best they ever had. I was told multiple times that our reception was the nicest and classiest that people had ever been to. The personal attendants were so wonderful; they were always there when you turned. A nice touch I thought was that they served the drinks out of plastic glasses for the guests. However, they always served me, my husband, and our parents with actual glass glasses. The only thing negative was that the picture room seemed very warm to some of us. It is understandable because was in September and both the guys and I had layers of fabric on also, but I didn't hear any guests complain. We left with boxes full of left overs for us and our parents. The staff organized the clean-up of our pictures and decorations. They got the keys to the necessary cars and packed them up. We felt it was very worth every penny!!
