Lisa and Ian were excellent photographers. We decided to meet with them and look at their work several months before the wedding. They brought examples of their work which looked amazing. I loved their pictures on their website as well. Lisa and Ian offered extremely fair prices. We also got a videographer from Soft Box. Prior to the wedding, Lisa and Ian emailed me a sheet with suggestions of pictures as well as asking what pictures were most important to us. This was an excellent idea, so that they could get a feel for exactly what we wanted. On our wedding day, Lisa took pictures of me and the bridesmaids, while Ian took pictures with my husband and his groomsmen. This worked out beautifully. This way each moment was captured without wasting time. (Their packages are hourly). The videographer began at my house and then went to the men after about an hour or so. At the church, he gave my husband a tiny microphone, so that he can hear our voices at the altar. This ensured a video with excellent quality!!! We had a large wedding party so before the big day, Lisa drove over to where the reception was located and chose places for the pictures! I thought this was above and beyond! She knew that I wanted to have pictures on the train tracks and near the river, so she went and found the perfect places. They were very accommodating and not at all frustrated organizing our incredibly large wedding party. Both Lisa and Ian organized beautiful pictures without being pushy or rude to any of us. They suggested several poses and took our suggestions as well. Lisa and Ian even incorporated my husband’s dream of having pictures of us in the mustang. (Yes my husband loves his car!) The pictures turned out perfect! I ordered Thank You cards from them and I got TONS of complements. We used our professional pictures in an accordion style card. Lisa helped suggest what generic message to write and everyone loved them!!!! We see the Thank You cards sitting on counters at several family member’s houses. I also ordered 2 wedding photo albums and several pictures to put around the house. I would recommend them to anyone! They were perfect!!!

Lisa and Ian are absolutely AMAZING and I am SO happy that we used them as our wedding photographers. From the day we first met with them, it was clear that they were going to do a phenomenal job. Their sample albums were just gorgeous, and they were extremely professional about everything. They are VERY responsive, and we communicated via email a lot, to make sure everything with the contract worked out exactly right. When we met again closer to the wedding, we worked together to finalize all the timing for the day, and Lisa even made some great suggestions that ended up working out perfectly.

On the day of the wedding, Lisa came to the girls and Ian went to the guys for getting-ready pictures, which was perfect, so that everything could be documented beautifully. Once we all came together, they worked together to make sure that EVERY moment was captured, and it was so great to have 2 photographers there to be sure that nothing was missed. Not only that, but they are so professional and inconspicuous that is was almost impossible to tell that photographers were even there (especially in our church), which was very important to us.

After the ceremony, we did some bridal party pictures and couples pictures, which I cannot wait to see because I am sure they are going to be incredible. They know exactly what light to use, and how to place people so as to get the best photo possible. They worked with us to make sure we got all the shots we wanted, which was not always easy, especially with our huge families. Throughout the reception, it seemed like they were always there to capture every moment of the night, and I am sure there are some amazing, creative, and beautiful pictures to come.

I don't think we could have picked better people for the job- Lisa & Ian made everything go perfectly, and I am confident that they documented the entire day beautifully. We cannot wait to see how all the photos turned out!!! My husband and I, as well as my parents and friends, all highly recommend Softbox Media- they are amazing people who do amazing work!

When we first found Lisa and Ian it was under great duress…we had unfortunately given a down payment to a photographer that was recommended by our venue who completely went MIA after receiving our money…My husband and I stumbled across Softbox Media while looking at wedding website reviews and after seeing their portfolio (and prices) we knew these were the photographers for us! I emailed Lisa on a Sunday morning and went out to run errands, not expecting to hear from her until at least the next day. By the time I got home from running errands not only did I know that they were available for our wedding date but we were penciled in, AND had an appointment scheduled that week to meet with them (thank goodness for smart phones!).

Our hour long meeting scheduled for our consultation lasted for 3 hours! Lisa and Ian sat down and took the time to go through their portfolio, all of their products and packages; went through our wedding schedule, likes/dislikes – just really took the time to get to know us as a couple. We left there knowing when to expect a contract, what the next steps were and had our pre-wedding consultation appointment scheduled. Lisa and Ian stayed in touch with us until the wedding just to check in or seeing if we needed help with anything.

By the time it was our wedding day not only were we comfortable with them we considered Ian and Lisa friends and were just excited to have them there – and it really showed in our pictures. Our pictures turned out AMAZING; I couldn’t have wanted anything more. All of my friends and family not only rave over the pictures but rave over Ian and Lisa. All my bridesmaids and groomsmen commented on how much they enjoyed Lisa and Ian and ask when we will all get together again. I already have one friend that has booked them for her wedding this summer and my MOH is vowing to use them for her wedding as well.

I can’t say enough about Ian and Lisa, my husband and I are truly luck to have found them. They are unbelievable photographers who genuinely care about their clients. If you are looking for wonderful pictures AND photographers you can trust and enjoy being around on you big day you will be nothing but grateful for finding them too!

I was so pleased with Lisa and Ian the entire time we worked with them!! Before, during, and after my wedding they were always there to answer any questions we had. The photographs turned out AMAZING!!!! All of our family and friends loves the way the photos looked. And many people told me they weren't even aware that Lisa and Ian were there!!! Lisa and Ian of Softbox Media are beyond phenomenal!! They are very friendly, laid back and VERY CREATIVE. They listen to what you want in photos but have great ideas. We did our engagement photos and wedding photos with them and couldn't be happier. Everyone loved the pictures, we even had newlyweds look at our photos and comment how "magazine like" they are and wish they used Softbox Media. They are very responsive; any time I e-mailed them I heard right back, even if they were out of the area. At our wedding they got every shot I wanted and then some! Looking at the wedding photos they caught things with their cameras I wouldn't even have known happened if it weren't for them. I could not be happier with how the photography turned out. They are very affordable for what you get. I would without a doubt recommend Softbox Media as they made the photography aspect of the wedding stress free. Lisa and Ian were amazing. We got married on July 31st and had photos to view by August 18th - super fast turn around. They handled all the planning flawlessly, fit right in with the rest of the wedding party when going around taking photos and hanging out on the party bus from the chapel to the reception site, and took simply beautiful photos. They handled all of our requests with grace and just made our wedding that much easier. While we never plan on getting married again, I'm definitely planning on using SoftBoxMedia for future big events. They're amazing.

You are crazy if you go with anyone else! We just got married June 26th and Lisa and Ian with Softbox Media were our photographers. From the very beginning they were quick to respond to emails and phone calls as I tried to plan my DC wedding from SC. They were also professional and yet it felt like you were planning your wedding with a friend. They are great!

We had our engagement photo session down by the Jefferson Memorial during Cherry Blossom Season. It was a mess of people and Lisa and Ian agreed to meet us at the crack of dawn practically to ensure we got some great shots. There were hundreds of people walking around and yet in our photos she managed to take them at unique angles where you barely see anyone else. The pictures are fabulous!

They also photographed our wedding at a Baptist Church in Alexandria and our reception at Old Hickory in Woodbridge. We took the standard wedding pictures but before the reception we had a chance to be a little more creative. The took some great shots of us in front of a barn door and walking along the ridge on the golf course that look like they came right out of a bridal magazine. I couldn't believe it was me in the picture. They also did some neat things with color and I love this picture of my and my husband in black and white and my bouquet is the only thing in color. Even my dad commented on that picture!

I can't say enough about Softbox and Lisa and Ian. They are VERY reasonably priced for the DC area and you won't be disappointed. Their attention to detail and just fun personalities absolutely made our wedding! We couldn't be happier with our choice. I would highly recommend them to anyone getting married in the DC area.

Loved these guys! They were first and foremost VERY professional and actively listened to what we wanted for our big day. Our guests said that they didn't even notice that they were there at times. Hard to believe because they did an outstanding job capturing all of the wedding moments. Coming from our friends and family...."Your wedding pictures look like they have come straight out of a magaizine!" "Lots of creative and unique shots!" Lisa and Ian were so much fun to work with! I met them at a bridal show, stumbled upon their booth as I was begining to feel like I was drowning in photographers and not sure how I would ever pick on. I spoke with them for a brief time and loved their enthusiasm. Lisa was always quick to respond to emails and was very flexible.

I got married 2 hours away and their travel fee was minimal. Befor our ceremony we had decided to do pictures on the campus of James Madison Uniersity (where I attended college). Photos were one of my favorite parts of the day. Lisa and Ian took the time to go visit JMU a week before the wedding to get photo ideas and the morning of the wedding they visited the campus book store to buy spirit apperal (beads, foam fingers, etc) that they thought we might have fun with in some of the pictures. We had some very nice picture and a lot of fun pictures thanks to this extra thoughtful touch! Lisa had even found a little place on campus I would have never thought about to take some pictures of my husband and I that were perfect. Lisa and Ian were such a great team and didnt miss a thing... in fact they took over 3,000 pictures.

After the wedding we were anxious to see our pictures, but were suprised to get an email from lisa that we could scedule our viewing just under 3 weeks after our wedding. Knowing the number of pictues Lisa had to go through and touch up I was not expecting to see them before at least a months time. The viewing was a phenomenal touch on it's own. We had the opportunity to view our pictures on a large screen and they even had munchies out for us to enjoy.

Overall it was an amazing experiance and I hope to use the couple again for our future photography needs!

SoftBox Media delivered! We were thrilled with their professionalism and talent from our first meeting. Our expereience working with them before, during, and after our wedding day has been extrememly positive. Both our families and ourselves were thrilled with the results of our wedding photographs.

Lisa and Ian did an absolutely fantastic job with our wedding. From the time we booked them, we didn't have to worry about a thing. We met once when we decided to book SoftBox and then another time when the wedding was about a month away. Lisa was in contact with us during our entire engagement process which was such a treat because I did not have to remember everything! We were able to tell Lisa and Ian what types of pictures we wanted and who we wanted them with. They were able to give us fun ideas and made sure we had everything covered before the big day arrived. The paperwork that we filled out with everyones names and what pictures we wanted was well organized and very user friendly.

On the actual wedding day, Lisa and Ian were amazing! Lisa met my bridal party at the hair salon and Ian met the boys for a straight razor shave. They both were able to capture the special time you have with your friends and family before the wedding. From that point on, they were both involved in every aspect of the wedding. They were able to catch all different types of pictures including fun, candid, and formal ones. They were personable, friendly, and patient with our huge wedding party of 22 and the rest of our crazy families. They took care of every pictures we asked for, so we didn't have to remember and ask for them. They were able to capture the most special pictures without us even noticing they were there. It's amazing to look back and see the pictures they got and not remember them right there.

When our pictures came back, we LOVED them! They were able to capture everything we wanted! I highly recommend SoftBox media and appreciate the personal touch they added to our wedding!

Lisa and Ian were great to work with leading up to the wedding and were amazing on the day of! I just got my proof books back and they look incredible. Since I live so far from them, it was great that they were flexible to meet me at various places around DC. Their packages were also very flexible to fit my budget and what I was looking for! I highly recommend them!

We were very happy with the quality of our pictures. They were easy to work with, responsive, flexible and nice to have around.

I could not have asked for more. I loved working with Lisa, all through the planning, and the day of, she & Ian seemed to be everywhere but still unobtrusive. Many of my guests commented on how unobtrusive they were, but they still got wonderful shots. My package was priced very reasonably for one photographer, yet this was for two. I was pleasantly suprised seeing some of the shots they took when I was elsewhere in the reception, lots of nice pictures of our guests. They were both so nice to work with; I think the groomsmen would have happily adopted Ian into their party. For me it was nice that Lisa had been a bride just a couple of months before my wedding, she had just been through it. Everyone I have shown my pictures to has been as awed by them as I am. I would highly highly recommend Softbox Media.
