The perfect wedding day!

Right from the start, the Smithville Inn team was amazing to work with. Justine, Erin and the entire staff was super responsive in answering all our questions. We loved the historic vibe of the venue and the fact that there’s only one wedding per day. You can really feel the personalized attention from their entire team. We did both the ceremony and reception on site, and everything was perfect.

The Absegami room was a beautiful, intimate ceremony space that was then quickly transformed into a fun cocktail hour space. The food was incredible! Our guests raved about the food from cocktail hour through dessert. Highly recommend adding the slider station; the brisket sliders were amazing! The bartenders were great, we loved the flexibility of adding alcohol upgrades and including signature wedding drinks. For dessert, we added the milk and cookie bar which was a huge hit with our guests and made for a great favor. From start to finish, the Smithville Inn was amazing and we had the perfect wedding day. We can’t thank their team enough for making our dream wedding a reality!

Stunning!!

Smithville Inn, in my opinion, is probably on the pricier side of average for weddings, but I’d also say it was worth it. The venue itself is stunningly beautiful, you could honestly not add any extra decor and you’d still have a gorgeous wedding. The grounds are picturesque with greenery, lights, and an overall magical atmosphere. The entire village is beautiful and it has been one of my favorite places to visit all my life. The staff there were wonderful to work with, and the service during the actual day was spectacular. They took fantastic care of all my guests, and they made certain the groom and I were well fed and taken care of. They handled everything with incredible care and expertise. All the vendors I used had worked with them multiple times which helped make everything flow seamlessly. Best night of my life, I couldn’t ask for a better experience.

Amazing Wedding

From the moment we arrived, we knew the Smithville Inn was the perfect place for our wedding. Words cannot fully express our gratitude for Amanda, Justine, and Elaina, whose responsiveness and attentiveness throughout the planning process and on our wedding day were extraordinary. Anytime I needed assistance, one of these incredible ladies promptly addressed my concerns and eased my nerves. They went above and beyond in arranging our decorations and accommodating all our preferences, making the experience seamless and stress-free.
We opted for the buffet dinner, and the food exceeded all expectations. With a wide variety of abundant and delicious options, our guests are still raving about the food. Being nestled in the village and staying on-site added a charming "destination weekend" feel to our celebration, even though it was close to home. Every detail of the day—and the entire weekend—was simply perfect.

Picture Perfect Venue

Smithville Inn has a banquet department that handles every detail from arrival to departure. There were separate rooms for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Each room had a magnificent view of the outside areas. Each one of our vendors worked seamlessly with the banquet staff, even though only one of them had prior experience with the Smithville Inn. And the food was excellent.

The coziest winter wedding!!

The Smithville Inn went above and beyond with our wedding!! Every single detail was perfect and they answered all of my questions super quick. Justine, Erin and Amanda were so friendly and always made me feel confident with how our day was going to turn out. Everyone constantly talks about how great the food at our wedding was and that it was the best they ever had! They accommodated me and my gluten allergy by giving me a custom dinner and putting aside special cocktail hour food for me that I could eat. Every single part of the smithville inn is charming, from when you walk in to the fireplace to the back of the reception with the gorgeous windows with a beautiful view. I couldn’t be happier with our wedding!!

The prefect venue for our wedding

The venue was perfect, the food was prefect, the service on our day was exceptional and leading up our was great as well.
We had used a very inclusive package that allowed a ton of food from cocktail hour straight through dessert and it all tasted good.

The ladies in Banquet Department were very helpful in answering questions and helping us along the way. Overall very good experience.

Best day ever

Prior to getting engaged,I joked around saying I want to get married at the smithville Inn because they had a French fry bar option. Well this weekend we did just that and you know we had the French fry bar! The team here was amazing,responsive and made sure every detail came to life. One thing I can say is this day exceeded anything I thought I had planned. It truly was a beautiful day and I can't say good enough things about this venue! Everything was on schedule and perfect. Any question or thought I had was addressed through out the process and it was always easy to contact Justine or Erin. It was such an amazing day and it was an absolute dream. If your thinking about booking this venue, do it!!

We LOVED our wedding experience at the Smithville

Our whole wedding experience at the Smithville was perfection from start to finish. The coordinators, Justine and Erin, and the entire staff was so helpful and supportive during the planning process and the day of. We got so many compliments on what a unique and beautiful venue/location. Highly recommend, especially if you’re looking for something outside of the cookie cutter ballroom.

Absolutely Perfect

I don’t have enough words to describe how amazing our wedding was. Justine and Erin flawlessly helped to create our perfect day. There was not a single thing we had to worry about, between the food, the decor, the setup, it was all taken care of. If I had to do this day all over again I wouldn’t change a thing.

Smithville Inn

Our wedding day was everything my husband and I hoped it would be and more. We knew from our very first visit to Smithville Inn that this was exactly where we were meant to get married. Smithville was absolutely beautiful. We loved going through the town for pictures with our bridal party and the ceremony space outside overlooking the pond was gorgeous. We had guests commenting on how beautiful the ceremony and reception spaces were throughout the entire night. I could go on and on about how amazing everything looked but I will sum it up by saying that everything just looked perfect. But the beauty of the venue is not the only reason we were so happy with our decision to book Smithville Inn; their staff was amazing too. From our very first interaction to our last dance and everything in between, their staff went above and beyond to make sure we had the wedding day of our dreams. The staff was extremely accommodating and kept us updated during COVID about any changes that were occurring due to the pandemic. They helped make such a stressful planning process feel more manageable and we felt confident that no matter what happened because of the pandemic that Smithville Inn was going to help us navigate our way and still have a beautiful day… and we certainly did! Their vendor recommendations were spot on and we are so glad we used their vendor list to make our selections. My husband and I worked most closely with Justine throughout the process and she was wonderful. Justine was very easy to get in contact with whenever we had questions and extremely helpful. We can’t thank her enough for all of her help! You cannot go wrong booking at Smithville Inn!

Amazing Wedding 03.27.21

My husband and I chose The Smithville Inn as our venue for our wedding ceremony and reception (which took place on 03.27.21) and oh boy did we choose wisely. First, the venue is GORGEOUS! My husband and I didn’t want to get married in the usual banquet hall and this was such a nice change – the perfect setting located in a quaint/cute village with a bunch of small shops (made for the perfect wedding weekend). Second, Justine and Erin helped make our day truly incredible. I tear up just thinking about how perfect everything was. From start to finish, Justine and Erin were very detail-oriented, they took the time to listen to what we wanted, and they made zero mistakes along the way. I wish I could be stuck in a time loop for that day so I could relive it over and over again. Not only did my husband and I love it, but our guests raved about the venue and how beautiful everything was. We couldn’t be more grateful – THANK YOU!!!!

The most magical night!

Our wedding ceremony and reception at Smithville Inn far surpassed our expectations. Our wedding day was even more than we had ever hoped from. Justine is absolutely amazing! She totally listened to all of my requests and perfected everything, even the little tiniest details. During the planning process she was always quick to answer any emails I sent. Our day was so stress free because I knew Justine would handle all of it. All of our guests also commented on how good the food was for both cocktail hour and the reception!

Best Venue Ever

Words cannot even express how perfect Smithville Inn is for a wedding. Everything from the ceremony to the end of the reception was absolutely beautiful and on top of that, the food is outstanding! Everything from passed hors d’oeuvres to the main entrees are delicious. Kyle and Justine went above and beyond to make sure everything at our wedding was perfect. The planning process was stress-free with Smithville’s team. Even the day of the wedding, I was so calm knowing everything was being taken care of. I would highly recommend the Smithville Inn for your wedding venue if you're looking for a beautiful, rustic, intimate place that has amazing food and drinks!

The Smithville Inn was perfect!

My husband and I chose the Smithville Inn to have our ceremony and reception and we couldn't be happier with how everything went! The location is amazing for pictures and guests. Most of our guests stayed at the colonial Inn which was situated in the quaint village of Smithville and is within walking distance to everything! From the moment we started planning Kyle and Justine were amazing with gathering information on our plans for the wedding down to every detail! The ceremony was outside right next to the lake which was a beautiful setting. The reception was in a beautiful room that fit all 123 guests comfortably and our 7 piece band. The food was delicious and was made to order for everyone. Everyone complimented us on the food and the venue! I would 100% recommend this for anyone looking for a wedding venue!

So in love with the Smithville Inn

We had our wedding here on August 3rd and it was beyond my wildest dreams. We chose the smithville inn because we loved the classic and historic feel. We wanted something rustic but not over the top rustic and still classy and this was just it. We couldn't be happier with our decision. Kyle and Justine as well as the rest of the team are incredible at their jobs and made sure that everything was perfect the day of. They were always happy to answer any questions I had a long the way. They did an amazing job bringing all of my visions to life. Everything that I wanted to be displayed at the wedding looked even better than I had pictured. The day of the wedding they were extremely accommodating. My husband and I did not plan to miss our cocktail hour but ran behind on some photos and they made sure that we had all the food that we wanted in the bridal suite. At the reception I felt like having pasta, which was not a meal selection that I had chosen and they made me a plate! They truly treated us like kings and queens that day. Food is amazing, board walk station blew people's minds, and my guests keep raving about how fun it was. We had about 158 guests and the room felt very full. They say that they can fit up to 171 but I think that might be stretching it a little unless you have a lot of children coming to the wedding, which we did not. Aside from that, our guests booked up the colonial inn and we took up the entire Smithville Village. The guests keep saying how much they loved it there and want to come back! I highly recommend having your wedding at the Smithville Inn.

Best day of our lives!

My husband and I got married at The Smithville Inn this past December. We had a great experience during the planning process, and have so many amazing memories from our wedding day, thanks to all that the staff at Smithville did! Kyle was very responsive during the days before the wedding, and he answered every one of our questions in a timely manner. He and Justine made the entire day flow so nicely. They put all of our decorations out exactly the way we were envisioning them. I remember walking into the reception room just before the ceremony was about to start, and tears started to form in my eyes once I saw how the months of planning and visioning my husband and I did truly came to life that day. We had the winter wonderland wedding of our dreams, and we are so thankful to everybody at The Smithville Inn for all of their help in making that happen. Bonus points, the food was AMAZING. They give you plenty of options for your guests, and are so accommodating with food restrictions. We actually had a completely vegetarian wedding menu and it was so easy to swap a few things out that we wanted switched. The village and the Inn itself are so incredibly cozy and inviting, which is what my husband and I wanted on our wedding day. We loved how charming and full of history the Inn is. Especially with the Christmas decorations everywhere, the entire atmosphere was so timeless and low-key -- yet romantic and warm. We are so happy that we get to come back to Smithville anytime we want and go back to the absolutely wonderful wedding day we were able to enjoy here. I highly recommend holding your wedding at The Smithville Inn!

Treated Like Friends

The absolute nicest location and we were so happy we chose it as our venue. Lines of communication open constantly throughout the year of planning and so happy to be able to work with Kyle and Justine. Delicious food, accommodating staff, and flexible management til the very end. So sad to be done. Cannot wait to visit again for another event, stop in for a meal, or pop by to say hello.

We got married at the Smithville Inn on 9/7. Our day was absolutely perfect! We had to make the late decision to have the ceremony inside. Although I was naturally a little disappointed, it was still a very pretty space and Kyle made sure we at least had our cocktail hour outside (it was just one passing thunderstorm so cleared up in the middle of our ceremony). Kyle and Justine made everything run so smoothly. I received nothing but compliments from our guests. The food was AMAZING. They even boxed up some of our cocktail hour food in addition to our dinners for us which we enjoyed the next day. I was planning from 3 1/2 hours away. This was never an issue. Justine and Kyle answered my emails within 24 hours, and made sure to have an answer for all of my questions. They allowed me to be a stress free bride on my wedding day and that was the most amazing gift anyone could have given us.

All of my dreams came true on 6/16/18 when my husband and I were married at the Smithville Inn. We have been going to the town of Smithville for years, and on the night of our engagement, we didn't even hesitate that our dream wedding would be at The Smithville Inn- with one venue visit, we were booked! They book up early, we booked 18 months in advance and scored the last weekend in June - so do not hesitate and book your spot with them. Kyle and Justine made the entire planning process easy. Every email is answered in a timely manner, no question is too big or too small. They answer everything,and fast! You are in the BEST hands with Kyle and Justine. Every appointment at the venue was quick and painless, you can tell they work as a well-oiled machine. With all of the weddings they do, they treat you like you are the only wedding that matters when you are with them! Our wedding weekend, both Kyle and Justine were cool, calm and collected. Every detail I thought about meticulously for months came to life with their creativity. I never felt so calm leaving all of my wedding decor in their hands the morning of my wedding. It was an absolute dream walking into the venue and seeing everything come to life! Justine even took cocktail hour decor and took it upon herself to reuse all of it and decorate a hutch in the reception area! I love that they reused everything; even our welcome sign from the ceremony ended up being reused! I LOVE that they did that. They even caught some minor errors I made and asked me about them the morning of, and I never ever would have caught them (the menu I printed was in the wrong order so they wanted to verify the order I wanted the food to come out in). My family cannot stop raving about the venue, the service, and the food. If we could do it all over, we would choose the smithville over and over and over again. We are so lucky! We love you guys!

I was married in November at the Smithville Inn and couldn’t be happier with our entire wedding process and day! When it came to choosing a venue, I knew I couldn’t envision myself in your typical “ballroom” setting. I wanted something rustic, without being a barn, something romantic, without being gaudy, and something simple, without being boring. My fiancée and I looked at only one venue (The Smithville Inn) and knew it was the place for us. It was unique and beautiful. We met with Kyle (who even came in early, just to accommodate our schedule!). He answered all of our questions and made the decision to book the venue an easy one! Along the way, Kyle and Justine were available to answer any questions, offer advice, and make us feel comfortable and confident that our wedding day would be everything we dreamed of. The day of our wedding went off without a hitch. We can honestly say that we have zero complaints! Everything was exactly as we had asked for/envisioned. Our wedding guests all commented on how it was one of the best weddings they had ever been to. We didn’t have to worry about a thing, thanks to Kyle, Justine, and their team’s professionalism, positive attitude, and go with the flow personalities. We can’t thank them enough for all they did!

I cannot say enough amazing things about Kyle and Justine, and the entire staff at Smithville. From our first meeting with Kyle to the day after when we were collecting the rest of our decor from the venue, we could not be more thrilled to have booked with them. First of all, the venue is lovely. It's exactly what we had in mind for our wedding, with it's rustic features and the historic charm of the surrounding village. Our guests were blown away by how gorgeous everything was. The best part for me was working with Kyle and Justine. Literally every single email that I sent to them was titled "one more thing..." and they never once made me feel like I was second to any other event (even though I know they had several other events/weddings going on during my planning). They responded almost immediately, never made me wait on them, and always had an answer for me. Not only that, they had great suggestions for me and let me change my mind a thousand times (which I'm learning is a characteristic of a lot of brides). Our families and friends were blown away by the service at Smithville. The entire staff if warm and friendly and attentive. I cannot speak highly enough or recommend this place more for any and every event.

Our wedding day at the Smithville Inn was the greatest day of our lives! The entire staff there is phenomenal! Justine was the most amazing wedding planner. She had everything so under control. We came in the day before to drop off a lot of decor and she set everything up perfectly. We were treated so well every time we went there and especially on our big day. We couldn’t ask for a thing more than what they provided for us. The food was AMAZING! Not your typical wedding food at all. Beautiful outdoor ceremony space and rustic ballroom with wood beams and floor to ceiling windows and great view. A Beautiful and delicious wedding cake from the bakeworks is included also. So much better than your run of the mill golf course/country club wedding. The Smithville Inn has so much history and character. Our wedding party booked rooms around the village so everyone was just a short walk away from eachother. Then we had an after party at Fred and Ethel’s, also just a short walk away so most of us didn’t have to drive. However the Smithville Inn provides free valet parking for wedding guests. From the start of the weekend till the end we had the time of our lives. Thank you Smithville Inn staff and especially Justine!

My husband and I were married at the Smithville Inn on June 17, 2017. Kyle & Ashley were amazing wedding planners from start to finish. Both were attentive to make sure the wedding was exactly what my husband and I had envisioned. The ceremony, cocktail hour and grand ballroom were gorgeous. All of the staff and servers catered to us and our guests the entire night and guests are still raving about the food! Smithville Inn has been one of our favorite places to go for lunch/dinner and brunch. I would highly recommend this venue for any special occasion you are having. The planners and staff were highly professional, accommodating, responded back in a timely manner and couldn't be more friendly. Our wedding was hands down the best day of our lives and Smithville Inn played a HUGE part in that. It was not only memorable for us, but for our guests as well. We cannot thank Smithville Inn enough. We love you guys!

Ashley and Kyle were very helpful. They worked hard to make our wedding day special. The food was great, the event space is beautiful, and the service was above and beyond. I would highly recommend this venue for your upcoming wedding.

My husband and I had our wedding at The Smithville Inn on 6/16/17. The staff at The Smithville Inn showed exceptional service to us and our guests!!! The food was fantastic and everything went flawlessly!! The wedding coordinators at the Smithville Inn, Ashely and Kyle, both went above and beyond to make sure our day went perfectly! I would recommend The Smithville Inn to any Bride and Groom. They truly know what they are doing at this venue and will not disappoint. We truly could not have asked for a better venue for our wedding. The Inn provided a gorgeous back-drop. Every person we met and worked with before and during our wedding was extremely helpful, kind, and accommodating. Our family and friends had a wonderful time and couldn't say enough about the venue and the people. I highly recommend the Smithville Inn.

Kyle was so on top of emails and requests while being 100% professional! The venue was absolutely beautiful and everything I dreamed of for my boho rustic wedding!!! I wouldn't change a thing, it was the happiest day of our lives!!! Thank you Smithville for bringing my dream wedding to reality!

My husband & I initially chose to have our wedding at The Smithville Inn because of the look of the banquet room and the scenic village. We quickly began to appreciate how helpful everyone at The Inn was. From the bartenders in The Tavern to Ashley, our wedding coordinator, everyone went above and beyond to make our day so special. Our guests raved about the food at our reception and one of my guests truly appreciated the bartender who tracked down gluten-free beer for her that night. The quality of service at The Smithville Inn is amazing. We also utilized The Colonial Inn for our accommodations, Fred & Ethel's for our Rehearsal Dinner and Wedding After Party, Sublime Hair Boutique for wedding day hair & make-up, and various village shops to fill our guests' welcome bags - every single business provided quality service. They all speak so highly of each other and work together to create a great experience for their customers. I am so pleased with every single aspect of our wedding weekend in the Smithville Village and am so thankful for the care & attention that The Smithville Inn provided us! The Smithville Inn went above and beyond expectations in terms of everything, to the good, the beautiful venue with the lake, the location of everything bring right in the village, to the staff working so hard to give us the best day of our lives!!! My daughter had her wedding here it was absolutely beautiful everything was perfect. I highly recommend having your wedding here cocktail hour was fantastic dinner was absolutely delicious food was hot not cold like I had at other weddings staff was wonderful it's a day my daughter myself family and friends still talk about.

Ashley Rosenthal was seriously the best when it came to planning our wedding. She legitimately had my back every step of the way. Every question or every little thing I needed she was there to help. The Smithville Inn is absolutely stunning and I am so happy we were able to get married there. Our guests are still raving about how gorgeous everything was! The fact that it's in a historic village just makes it a hundred times more special. I highly recommend getting married here!!! Ashley and Kyle and the entire Smithville Inn staff were amazing on our wedding day. They were accommodating and flexible in every possible way. Kyle even grabbed something we needed on his way into work the morning of the wedding...What service!! The food was amazing and we got so many compliments on it! Overall we could not have been happier with our choice :)

We may be biased but our wedding at the Smithville Inn was Ah-MAZING. From our first meeting with Ashley to the actual day of - it was a fabulous experience. First, Ashley and Kyle were professional, easy to work with, and always got back to me very quickly with answers to my questions (and I had a lot of them). Two days before the wedding, the linens arrived and Ashley realized the napkins did not match the table runners at all. She arraigned for the company to provide a few different options for us to choose from and it worked out perfectly. All of our guests raved about the food - we did a brunch style buffet and it was all so tasty (I wish I could have eaten more). By doing the brunch buffet and open bar with limited choices, we really felt like we got a lot for a small price - great tasting food, delicious drinks, and great service. We didn't feel the need to have a lot of decorations as the venue itself is gorgeous with huge windows that let in the bright sunlight. Our day was perfect and we know that a lot of that was due to the hard work of Ashley, Kyle, and the staff at the Smithville Inn.

What can I say except thank you for making our event so truly magical! Having our wedding at the Smithville Inn during the Christmas season made it all the better, but truly the atmosphere, food, friendly people and community feeling we had during our planning and the event itself was just incredible! Everyone welcomed us like we were family gathering together for dinner. The displays of food were appetizing, the decor was beautlful, rooms had wonderful lighting, comfy chairs and a warm ambiance. Ashley and Kyle worked with us on every aspect so everything went just as planned. Truly the entire event exceeded our expectations, and for my first time groom, who didn't know what to expect, he was at ease and confident that we could just relax and let it all happen. Three months later, our family and friends are still raving about our wedding day, and we could not be happier with our decision to have our wedding at the Smithville Inn!!! Thanks to everyone who made it so magical for us!

Ashley and Kyle were such a pleasure to work with from the beginning.. Kyle even ran back to our hotel room when I forgot the grooms ring in the rush out the door! The venue was gorgeous, the food was delicious, we could not have been happier. When my maid of honor and I dropped off a bunch of totes with decorations and gave an "idea" of the vision I had in my head, I was not expecting it to be all I ever dreamed of and more.. the reception room just exuded classy, romantic and winter without being cliché - honestly it was STUNNING! I've heard nothing but rave reviews from EVERYONE that attended the wedding.. couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to have our perfect day! HIGHLY recommend!!

Smithville Inn was the ONLY venue myself & Brian looked into, & our breath was taken away from the moment we got there. Everything about this venue is amazing, the view, the scenery, the food, the style. Ashley & Kyle made this experience unforgettable!!! Discovering the Smithville Inn was, by far, the best part of celebrating our wedding. We wanted a rustic – but not isolated – location. Taking a referral from a friend, we did some research and paid the Smithville Inn a visit, and ultimately fell in love with everything the location had to offer! We live in northern New Jersey, and a major concern of ours was that our guests would be traveling quite a distance, but because Historic Smithville is full of shops and things to do, we knew this would ease our worries; Smithville literally has something for just about everybody, and our guests came not just to be there for us, but to make a great day out of their visit. Ashley and Kyle, our wedding and banquet coordinators, were beyond outstanding. They made our day come together and helped us every step of the way – without them, I don’t think we would have had such a great experience. The Smithville Inn’s quality of food and services were excellent, and the venue itself was fully decorated for the season – fitting the needs of our special day even moreso. The attention we received throughout the process was exceptional and we would absolutely recommend using The Smithville Inn to anyone looking to have a rustic wedding! You and your guests will enjoy the many opportunities to explore the town and you’ll surely have a fantastic day!

It has been a year since I was married at Smithville Inn. I have recommended this venue to my friends. Heather was the best to work with. She was so efficient, answered my questions and had great suggestions. I look back on my beautiful day and my gorgeous pictures taken in the village and I am so glad I made the decision to get married at the Smithville Inn. I would recommend The Smithville Inn to anyone looking for a flexible and beautiful wedding venue! We recently got married at the Smithville Inn and we could both honestly say it was the best day of our lives. As expected, we were stressing out a lot prior to the wedding but the entire day seemed to run effortlessly. Everything went according to plan due to the extreme attentiveness shown by the Smithville Inn staff. Heather and her staff were extremely helpful from the start of the process all the way through the end of our wedding night. In addition to the impeccable service, the food and atmosphere were incredible. I would highly recommend putting the Smithville Inn on your list of venues to visit while researching in the area. My husband and I got married on 10/2/15 at The Smithville Inn and my experience was nothing short of phenomenal. From the second we booked our appointment to view the venue, we were made to feel like the most special people in the world. The venue itself is amazing. It is the perfect rustic and shabby chic venue. The shops at The Smithville Inn add a charming element for your guests. The outdoor ceremony area is absolutely beautiful no matter what time of year. The reception room is rustic, warm and charming. I wanted to avoid a country club look and this venue was absolutely perfect.

I really don't even know where to start in writing this review because everything was so incredibly perfect, so I supposed I will start with our wedding coordinator, Heather Cramer. Heather is seriously the BEST. She answered every phone call, e-mail and message in a timely manner {and believe me, there were a TON of those}. She went above and beyond to make sure that our entire planning process and wedding day went off without a hitch. She was tremendously accommodating and catered to all of our wants and needs no matter how big or small. We dropped off an obscene amount of decorations the day before and every single detail was absolutely perfect. I realize I’ve used the word perfect a lot, but there really is no other word to describe our wedding day. I cannot speak highly enough of Heather and her staff.

We got married the weekend of the hurricane. We originally planned to have our ceremony and cocktail hour outside but the weather had other plans. Heather assured me that everything would work out, and boy was she right! It was PERFECT. AMAZING. SENSATIONAL. The ceremony was moved indoors and the room looked absolutely stunning. After the ceremony, our guests were moved out toward the bar area and they turned the ceremony room over into the cocktail hour in minutes. Literally minutes. I was honestly blown away at how smooth the entire process went. Amazing. Simply amazing.

My husband and I went to Stockton University and would often visit Smithville, Nj so being able to have our wedding at The Smithville Inn was the perfect place. We got engaged in December and got married in July. Since we only had six months to plan our wedding we received a really good price. Heather was wonderful! She was very calming and made sure every detail was how exactly what we wanted. Our guests had nothing but positive comments about the whole evening. We couldn't have asked for a better venue.

How can I even begin to describe the experience that I had with Heather and the Smithville Inn!? From the moment we met with Heather she was so friendly and helpful I knew this would be a fantastic experience. We had always known that we wanted to get married at Smithville Inn. From its rustic setting, friendly staff, beautiful grounds both inside and out, gorgeous gardens, and delicious food this venue is truly unique and worth every penny! Heather was awesome!!! She always kept in touch with us, helped us with any questions along the way and pretty much gave us the freedom to have the most beautiful and unforgettable day of our lives. We had both our ceremony (outside in the BEAUTIFUL garden) cocktail hour and reception here. The staffs attention to detail made me feel like I had no worry in world that day. If you decide to have your wedding or special event at The Smithville Inn you will not be disappointed one bit! Go for a tour today and you will fall in love!!!! <3

We had our wedding with the Smithville Inn a few weeks ago and they made our night absolutely perfect! Heather was so helpful throughout the whole process and always was willing to answer all of my questions. The venue is beautiful, the staff and service were great, and everyone raved about the food. The bartenders were also great. They do a great job all around and I would recommend them to anyone!

My husband and I cannot say enough great things about the Smithville Inn and working with Heather. We had a short engagement and had 4 months to plan the wedding so were looking for someplace easy to work with stress-free. The Smithville Inn is lovely (we got many compliments on the environment and food!) - very rustic with a lot of character. They had a great winter package too, but what impressed us most, and made us SO thankful we had our wedding here, was working with Heather and the rest of the staff. They were flexible about tweaking the contract and working within our budget and to our tastes, responsive to our many questions, making us feel confident they had everything covered, and competently handled everything beautifully the day of the wedding. (Heather even had a special meal set aside for one of our guests who had a migraine during the reception and was unable to come out of her room for dinner.) We were so thankful for the attention to detail and care that was shown to us - would HIGHLY recommend the Smithville Inn.

We loved absolutely everything about The Smithville Inn. It was the first, and only, venue we visited when we started looking and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Heather is an absolute god-send, she will answer every inane question you can come up with and still have a smile on her face. The food is phenomenal, there is absolutely nothing "wedding-y" about the experience you or your guests have at Smithville. The reception area is stunning, the dining staff are fantastic, I never even remembered once during the day that the restaurant was open right next door. Heather is incredibly flexible and was still helping me adjust things the week before the wedding. They keep everything running so smoothly and I wish all of my friends would get married there too, just so I can go to a wedding there as a guest!

I can't say enough wonderful things about both Heather Cramer and Gina at The Smithville Inn, my wedding was planned with three weeks notice (my husband is active military) and Heather and Gina were right there along side me to answer any and all questions I had regarding the planning and hosting process. Our wedding, from the ceremony, to the cocktail hour to the reception went off without a hitch and looked straight out of a magazine. I was stunned when I saw how everything had come together..Initially we had planned to have the ceremony outside with cocktail hour following, but due to rain, we ended up having it inside and Heather and her team pulled it off miraculously. The sun ended up coming out just in time for cocktail hour and pictures and it was simply amazing. The food was delicious.. I am still hearing reviews.. the bar was phenomenal.. the night was one to remember. We still have guests telling us it is the best wedding they've ever been to. Of course the picturesque details of The Smithville Inn helped as well ... the place has so much character- you can only add to it! A big THANK YOU to everyone at The Smithville Inn for making my wedding so incredibly beautiful ... I wish I could relive the night over again!

We were initially drawn to Smithville Inn because it wasn't a typical wedding venue. There was so much vintage character in the building and its surroundings. When we met the banquet manager Heather Cramer I knew we would be in good hands! She had alot of great ideas and worked with us to make our whole vision come together. She worked with all of our vendors so the cake, band, and flowers were all arranged perfectly when I walked into the reception room. Heather is always easy to reach by phone or email. Oh and the food is amazing!

My husband and I chose the Smithville in for our ceremony and venue, as it has been a favorite of mine for many years. Our wedding coordinator was readily available for all of our questions, and accommodating our guests with special food requests and handicapped seating. The Inn itself is a wonderfully romantic place for a wedding, and takes little decoration, if any. The food was wonderful, and our guests seemed to really enjoy themselves. I would recommend the Smithville in to anyone planning a wedding in the south jersey area.

I had my wedding at the Smithville on 9/1/13. Heather was amazing to work with. She was extremely responsive, helpful, had great suggestions on vendors, and was fun to work with. All my guests commented on what a unique venue it was and how the food was amazing!! I highly recommend having your wedding here.

The Bake Works Bakery included in the package is delicious as well and they set up a beautiful dessert table.

A huge thank you to Heather Cramer. You made my daughter's dreams come true by pulling out all the stops. You have always been there to answer questions, and providing helpful information unsolicited.
Yesterday, when the skys were threatening and drops were falling, "Tony" checked weather radar to see
if it was possible to have the outdoor celebration my daughter dreamed of. When it was determined that
we had a clear two hour window, the staff went to work drying off outdoor chairs, redistributing the ceremony programs, and getting everything in place. Ceremony went off without a hitch. The food was

My husband and I got married at the Smithville Inn on July 5, 2013 after a year-and-a-half long engagement. I cannot even begin put into words the exceptionality of this venue and how it was-- without a doubt-- the perfect place to celebrate our "big day"! Not only was the Inn itself absolutely gorgeous (the outdoor garden/patio was a beautiful ceremony site and made for excellent pictures, and the banquet room supported the rustic theme we were going for), but the service and support we received from the staff really enhanced our wedding experience. Our guests could not stop raving about the beauty of the venue as well as how delicious and unique the hors d'oeuvres and dinner selections were!
Heather Cramer-- Smithville's wedding coordinator who "came with" our package-- kept my husband and I informed about bridal shows and wedding day checklists throughout our engagement period, and she worked tirelessly to keep us completely stress-free (especially during the last few weeks before the wedding day)! It was so nice to be provided with the guidance of a wedding coordinator, especially with one as knowledgeable, kind, and understanding as Heather!
In all, I would recommend the Smithville Inn as a ceremony site and wedding venue to anyone and everyone!

We booked The Smithville Inn about one year prior to our wedding date. The entire process was stress free. Working with Heather and her team was easier than I ever thought it could be! We always received a quick response to calls or emails and were able to have the wedding of our dreams without many restrictions at all! The staff was so friendly and professional, and the venue itself was beautiful, clean, and just perfect for the wedding. The food was absolutely delicious and we have been receiving so many compliments on everything since the wedding! We can't wait to spend future anniversaries at Smithville by staying in one of the quaint bed and breakfast rooms, and plan to keep in touch with Heather over the years to come. If you like a pleasant, quaint, country, calm atmosphere, The Smithville Inn is the place to get married and have your wedding!

We got married on Friday April 26th and could not have had a more perfect day! Heather, the even coordinator is wonderful- we felt she was very caring and active in making sure everything went as smoothly as possible. The rest of the staff was also very friendly and attentive. We had an outdoor ceremony and a reception in the Great Bay room which could not have been more beautiful. Personally I found this venue to be charming and elegant with a welcoming, rustic feel. My guests and I loved being able to watch the sun go down and have a nice view of the water and garden. Having a Friday wedding was also great for our budget and schedule! Overall, it was the perfect place for us and I would highly recommend it to all future brides!

My husband and I got married at The Smithville Inn on 4/27/13. Our ceremony was outside and reception inside. It was the first and only venue we looked at - we knew immediately that its rustic and charming feel was perfect for us. The town of Smithville itself is quaint and beautiful, so we knew our guests would enjoy exploring it before the ceremony. The event coordinator, Heather, was very helpful leading up to the day and answered all of our questions promptly. On the day of the wedding, everything was beautiful and went flawlessly! Heather's assistant helped us all day and Heather walked through frequently to make sure everything was going smoothly. The waitstaff was very attentive towards me - making sure I had a drink at all times, encouraging me to actually eat, etc. which is very helpful as a bride since you have a million things to keep track of. We had compliments from our guests all day about the deliciousness of the food and niceness of the venue. All in all, the day was beautiful in every way and I have only positive things to say about The Smithville Inn and its staff. They will work to help make your day as perfect and stress-free as possible!

We got married at the Smithville Inn on October 20th 2012. This was the only venue we even went to visit, on a friend's recommendation. We met with Anthony on our first visit and realized this was the perfect place for us.

Over the next year and a half we planned our wedding and Heather who is the wedding coordinator helped us every step of the way when we needed it. If we had any questions she got back to us and had the answer we needed. Before we knew it, it was time for our final appointment where we went over all the details and selections for the wedding.

We had our rehearsal dinner at the venue the night before (everything was great) and we dropped off all of our centerpieces and any other required materials for the big day and I gave brief instructions on what we wanted to do with each thing. When we showed up the next afternoon the room looked fantastic. They got everything right and even kind of surprised us with how great everything looked. We had an idea in our heads of how it should look and what we say that day matched perfectly.

The event itself went very smoothly. Heather and her staff made sure everyone was taken care of and that we knew where to be and when. The venue was perfect for everything. Our pictures turned out incredible, the food was phenomenal, the room looked exactly how we wanted it and they made our big day as great as we hoped it could be.

If you live near South Jersey and are looking for a wedding venue please check this place out, you'll love it.

I had my wedding in Fall 2012 and I couldn't of been happier with the results. Heather and Allie were more than accommodating with all my requests and always promptly returned my emails and calls. I had the Great Bay Room as my reception and not only did it look beautiful with the fall leaves hanging from the window but the ambiance was wonderful. It was cozy and intimate and Heather and Allie made sure throughout my wedding to ask if there was anything they could do. I got praises and compliments about all the food and I was worried about cocktail hour and food being served and stations being replenished but it was always full. It was wonderful and I couldn't be happier with my wedding. Thank you Heather, Allie, and the Smithville Staff!

From the first moment I stepped into the Smithville Inn, I knew it was the perfect place for our ceremony and reception. I love the combination of elegance and beauty, with a hint of casual rustic charm.
Our wedding day was the best day of our lives and the staff at Smithville exceeded by far all of our expectations! Heather was so personable, organized and helpful from the first moment I met with her and was there through the entire planning process to answer any questions I had. She was there even as a coach as I nervously gathered myself and prepared to walk down the isle. Her assistant, Allie was wonderful also, as she helped keep the day organized and flowing. TJ, our host for the day, was more than I would ever expect a host to be. He was there all through the ceremony and reception. I feel as though I cannot thank him enough for all he did. The staff at Smithville is truly an asset to the venue. We will always remember how amazing our day was and how lucky we were to have them be a part of it. We look forward to visiting Smithville for dinners, anniversaries, etc. in the future.

The Smithville Inn is one of the most beautiful places to have a wedding! The garden is beautiful any time of year and there is a variety of different sized rooms for the reception. The Smithville Inn has a classy and rustic feel unlike some of the newer wedding venues that are being built.

The food is amazing and there are a variety of packages to choose from. I had the 5 hour open bar package and was amazed at the number of appetizers and food that we had!

During the wedding all of the staff treat you like royalty and the event planner was a big help from the day we booked our wedding.

Heather, the Banquet manager, was so fantastic throughout the wedding process: from the initial meeting, food tastings and day of services. She was very knowledgeable, easy going, detail-oriented and always readily accessible by e-mail or phone. The Smithville Inn is a gorgeous location, especially in the fall. All of the wait staff were very friendly and courteous. The food is absolutely fantastic. I could go on for hours complimenting the team at Smithville Inn, but I encourage you to experience it for yourself. I had my wedding here Feb 7TH 2015. The venue turned out just beautiful. It was very difficult for me to find a venue that was different and by different i mean not a overdone ballroom. If you are looking for something, historic, rustic, and even slightly country this is the way to go. The reception room is a blank slate with beautiful iron chandeliers and the wood work and wood floors are amazing. We had our ceremony inside and the room we used for that was also just amazing. Great fireplace, just a romantic rustic feel. The food was wonderful. And the service was great. Heather was awsome! The while team did a great job taking care of us. Having our wedding in smithville was just a fun weekend. We had family from all over. And literally partied the whole weekend. It was so much fun. And ppl have not stopped talking about it.

The Smithville Inn is perfect for that romantic & intimate wedding you want, even with a max capacity of guests. We chose this venue because of the breathtaking views of the wall-to-floor French windows in the reception room and the garden ceremony space in front of the town's lake. I love the shabby chic/cottage look with decor and they really helped accomplish it. My wedding was described by my guests as rustic/vintage/glam with a hint of a beachy/coastal feel. Heather is SI’s wedding coordinator. She is clear, concise, and easy to contact via phone or email. The owners and managers were also helpful. My Maid of Honor and her boyfriend are vegan. Smithville Inn has vegetarian/vegan entrees available which is great! But we had 12 cupcakes set aside and she wasn’t served her cupcake. I think servers had our guests think that everyone can have vegan cupcakes even though I had a huge wedding cake and an ice cream bar separate for every other guest. So she never got it. Also, they used my flowers for brunch the next day without my permission. That was kind of weird as I saw one of their servers take home some of my flowers. Although don't let my mishaps discourage you to visit. My wedding was very beautiful and fun with all of my vendors to help and I'm a bride who loves décor and detail. The food is great. You’ll be impressed if you choose them and have your tasting. We’ll always return to The Smithville Inn, their brunch and cocktails are delicious. What a wonderful day

We choose Smithville because of the beautiful banquet hall. We expected a lot of out-of-town guests and they were able to explore the village before the wedding. The team of banquet managers were very responsive to Brandon and I. They answered emails and phone calls quickly and were always happy to repeat information when I got stressed. We got married in March, part of the off-season, and found the menu to still have lots of good options. We really enjoyed the food both at the tasting and at our reception. We used The Smithville Inn for our rehearsal dinner as well and found the menu pretty similar. I was very grateful that I was bble to drop off my decorations to the Inn the night of the rehearsal dinner as well.

My husband and I got married at Smithville Inn a little over a month ago and we cannot say enough good things about it. We received so many compliments about how beautiful the venue was, how good the food was, and how quaint Smithville was. We couldn't have picked a more perfect place! Everyone at the Inn was so helpful in our planning answering every question or concern promptly and on the day every attendant was so attentive to everyone's needs and made sure my husband and I had food and drinks. I didn't get a chance to eat any of the cake during the reception so they sent us back with a container so we could enjoy it too. I am so happy we chose Smithville Inn as our venue and look forward to coming back to visit!

When it was time for our daughter to marry the only choice she had was Smithville Inn. Her hometown, her grandmothers place of employment for 25 years. My husband and I could not have been happier. Heather and Tony were SUPER fantastic. very professional and customer service oriented. The quaint beautiful setting, the restaurants and shops the Village Green and the rooms available for out of town guest, was a complete package. Our guest enjoyed themselves immensely! From our first appointment and through the entire event Smithville Inn delivered! Thank you Heather and Tony :-) Our daughters wedding day was one of the happiest days of our lives, your professional and more importantly your personal touch were a major ingredient that lend to make that day so happy!
We recommend Smithville Inn to others!! It is the BEST wedding venue in south jersey for folks looking for a beautiful, reasonably priced wedding party place!

Heather and the crew here were absolutely wonderful; they provided literally everything we needed for our wedding this past weekend, aside from some (literally, some) decoration. Heather was also a huge help and actually helped me finish up some of my smaller details (like table numbers) when I ran out of time this past week, and was so flexible in working with us throughout the whole process.

The food is phenomenal, the atmosphere is very beautiful and classy, and the service is on point. Definitely would recommend to anyone!

My ceremony and reception were held at the Smithville Inn in August 2006, and we could not have been happier. The day went by flawlessly - all of our special touches were incorporated and everyone raved about the food and the atmosphere. I would highly recommend The Smithville Inn to anyone. The service was great and the event planner was very helpful. The food was outstanding (my husband and I go to the restaurant each year to celebrate our anniversary because we love it so much). The ambiance was exactly what we were looking for, and I was able to have exactly what I wanted from start to finish. The only thing that went wrong with the entire wedding was the wedding cake, which the Smithville Inn contracts out to a local baker. The cake was beautiful, but there was no filling inside, only icing. Though looking back, it really didn't make any difference at all. My guests still say that it was the best wedding that they have ever been to and it was 3 years ago. The scenery made for beautiful pictures and they were very accommodating with the cost- we had some family from out of town who could not make it last minute due to a medical emergency, and they did not charge us for the empty places. (!!!) I also specified exactly when the bar would be open and closed and what wine I wanted offered to the guests, which was different then the wine on the sweetheart table, and they did it all just right.

My overall experience was good. Venue was gorgeous, food was great, planning was easy. There were a few miscommunication problems the day of the wedding. Our vendors never got their meals as they got put downstairs and no one told them, our DJ (who played in between our band) was a guest of the wedding not a vendor and got denied bar service. The bar tender was rude to my husband and my father, he told my husband who had asked for 28 shots (yes all at once for a toast) that he wasn't pouring them, after we had also already purchased an additional $100 bottle of patron on top of our original bar package because it wasn't included in our open bar, that we completely understood but telling the groom you're not pouring his request? Unacceptable. My father asked him for a toothpick and he just responded I have stuff to do. My father is a very nice and respectful person, if he just told him where to find one or that he couldn't help him it would have been fine, but he was rude to the father of the bride. Overall our worst experience was the bar tender. Kyle is amazing and will respond to every question quickly and professionally.

The Smithville Inn is a STUNNING place to have your wedding reception. I couldn't be happier that I choose it. It has a rustic, cozy, charming feel. It's not a stuffy, pretentious place.

Smithville itself has so many awesome picture opportunities.

I heard lots of compliments on the food, though I did not eat a lot of it myself unfortunately! Our bartender Jose was great! Everyone loved him : )

The price of the Smithville Inn was actually one of the more reasonable in the shore area that I found but I know for sure that it has gone up $4pp since I booked last Oct : (

My parents were pretty disappointed about cocktail hour. They were busy trying to mingle with our guests and never got to have any of the hors d'oeuvres! It would have been nice if the servers made sure the parents of the bride and groom got to experience the hors d'oeuvres without having to go and seek out the servers.

Sadly, our "signature cocktail" that we requested was never served and I didn't even think about it at the time. I realized the next day. It might have been my fault as I didn't make a framed sign to put on the bar or anything...but if that were the case, it would have been nice to have been told I needed to do that.

One thing I think is pretty lame is that they have these awful, old, mauve chairs. You are pretty much forced into paying the extra $5 pp for chair covers : ( They really should update their chairs but I am sure this is just a way to squeeze a little more out of you.

One other thing...when we arrived in our trolley we were instantly greeted by Heather (the wedding coordinator) which was great but then we never saw her again. My bridesmaids and I had to ask the hostess in the lobby how to get to the bridal lounge (which by the way, you have to go through the cocktail hour to get to it).

I know I have complained about a lot of things on here, but have no fear...I am very pleased that I had my wedding here! I guess I'm just being a picky bride now that its all over. For the money, I was hoping everything would be perfect.

Heather was very receptive to my million emails before the wedding : )

If you fall in love with the look and feel of the Smithville Inn like I did—go for it!

The Inn provided the perfect setting for a unique wedding theme. Setting a scene for the perfect summer wedding outside by the lake for a wonderful ceremony and a beautiful cool room for the reception. THe staff was very flexible with our unique requests and accomidated all our guests seemlessly.

After visiting the Smithville Inn for the first time, we knew it was the location for our wedding. It was exactly what we wanted, a quaint feel with a rustic building and simple elegance - nothing flashy or over-the-top ballroom. We booked our date on our first visit and not only was it our dream venue, but it had the best pricing of any of the venues we'd visited. Planning the rest of the wedding was a bit of a challenge. E-mail responses usually only contained the answer to one of our list of questions. The tasting options were weird - either April or November in a group, buffet setting. In the end the food was delicious at the tasting and at our wedding so it was okay. When we looked, we were guaranteed that our November 20 wedding would still have fall decorations and that Christmas wouldn't go up until the next week. I followed up on this point about three months before our wedding and that was no longer the case. The garland that was supposed to be on the walls was gone and the lobby and restaurant would be decorated for Christmas. We made it work with all of our fall decorations but it was an unnecessary stressor at the last minute. We were able to get in the night before to set up the reception room and decorate and had our rehearsal as well. There is a lot of flexibility for the day of your wedding and you can decide up to the last few hours if you want to have the ceremony inside or outside and where you'd like to have your cocktail hour. At the end of the day our wedding was fabulous and the day we had always dreamed of. The venue was perfect for us and everything we wanted. We had 140 guests and it was a perfect space for that amount of people. Our guests have been raving about our day and the venue. Don't shy away from Smithville, just be prepared to fight for what you want as they'll push a cookie cutter wedding on you.
