Highly highly recommend! We had David Tropea, and he knocked it out of the park! He was super receptive to our wishes (no prayer/religion) and wrote an absolutely beautiful ceremony. We had 2-3 phone meetings with him, and it's clear he really TRULY cares about understanding who we are and getting to know us. He sent us the ceremony script and asked if any changes should be made, and we loved it and didn't want to make a single change!! He had our guests laughing and smiling, and it was indeed short & sweet, but also so tasteful and PERFECT!! -

Alby was truly one of the highlights of our wedding at the Texas Science and Natural History Museum. From the start, it was clear she genuinely cared about telling our story in a way that felt authentic and completely us.
During the ceremony, she captured us so beautifully. Every word felt thoughtful and personal, like she had known us for years. She balanced heartfelt moments with just the right touch of humor, and our guests kept telling us how much they loved it. It felt intimate, engaging, and unforgettable.
What really stood out was how Alby set the tone for the whole day. She created such a warm, joyful atmosphere that made everyone feel connected and present. The vibes were immaculate, and she helped us feel calm and grounded so we could truly enjoy every moment.
We are so grateful she was part of our day and could not imagine it without her. -

Alby Ventura was the most genuine and kind person ever. Budget Friendly, has attention to detail, will
work until your happy, and will make you feel so special. From our very first meeting it felt like I had known her for years, she was immediately welcoming and sweet and made sure all our needs were taken care of. For the day of, she came to see me before the ceremony started and reassured me and made me feel so pretty. The ceremony itself is one to remember, she has a way to connect with everyone around her that it doesn’t feel scripted it’s just natural and authentic. We walked away feeling like we experienced something truly rare.
We’re already planning, in the near future, to have another wedding with all of our family and friends in a different country and there’s no question Alby is coming with us.

We had a wonderful experience with Short and Sweet Weddings—especially with Gary Motal as our officiant.
We left an officiant for a bit later in our planning process, but they were incredibly responsive and easy to work with. They offered a variety of officiants and made thoughtful recommendations based on our preferences, which made the process feel efficient but still personalized.
From the moment we heard Gary’s voice on our initial consult call, we immediately felt at ease and confident that he would do a great job. That feeling carried all the way through our wedding day. He struck the perfect balance we were looking for—mostly secular, with a fairly traditional structure and vows, and just a touch of light religious mentions.
Gary provided a strong first draft of the ceremony and we were able to easily make edits and incorporate personal stories. On the day of, he delivered everything beautifully. He has such a calm, reassuring presence, and even handled unexpected moments (like train noises mid-ceremony) with humor.
Beyond the ceremony itself, Gary has been incredibly thoughtful—keeping us updated on our marriage license and even sharing helpful marriage advice along the way.
We’re so grateful for his role in our day and would highly recommend him to any couple looking for a warm, professional, and personalized ceremony experience. -

The Perfect Voice for the Perfect Day
Johnny Shafer was truly one of the highlights of our wedding day at Elm Creek Ranch. From the very beginning, he made us feel comfortable, prepared, and confident that our ceremony would reflect who we are as a couple. His calm presence and warm personality immediately put everyone at ease.
Johnny struck the perfect balance between heartfelt and lighthearted. The ceremony felt personal, genuine, and meaningful — never scripted or stiff. He delivered our story beautifully, kept the moment engaging for our guests, and guided us through everything seamlessly so we could just be present and enjoy it.
Many of our guests commented afterward about how wonderful the ceremony was and how much they loved the officiant — which says a lot because the ceremony set the tone for the entire celebration.

Our double wedding day with Alby!
During our search for officiants, we came across Short and Sweet Weddings. There were many great options but something about Albania's profile immediately connected with us.
When we contacted them, we requested her as our number 1 choice. They later confirmed her availability and we were ecstatic! Prior to our big day, we scheduled a meet & greet. As this was a destination wedding in Austin, TX.
Our connection couldn't have been more destined. We connected instantly as if we've known her for years! She was meant to be part of our big day. We then booked Albania as our officiant. She united us in marriage in a private wedding. Followed by our wedding ceremony the following day, surrounded by family and friends.
Alby was SUPERB! She was such a kind soul, genuinely cared, loved her profession, carefully listened to our requests, communicated clearly, worked with our schedule, and made our special day(s) run as easy as possible. She went above and beyond to do her very best. And it showed!
We highly recommend Albania (Alby) Ventura from Short and Sweet Weddings! Five out of five star service. -

We are from out of state and we had initially been concerned that our ceremony may not feel super personal to us since we weren’t bringing an officiant from home. This was absolutely not the case with Gary Motal- from the moment we met him he made us feel super comfortable and incorporated elements into our ceremony that felt truly personal. Shelly with Short and Sweet Weddings was absolutely a DREAM to work with. From the moment we contacted them about officiating, they were responsive, kind, and informative. When we met with Shelly, she was so lovely and spent some time getting to know us. When we got our script, I was in tears almost instantly! It was so personal and meaningful to my now husband and I. We couldn't have been more pleased with how it turned out. During the wedding day, she checked in with us right away to finalize some last minute changes. We selected David Tropea from Short and Sweet Weddings and what a blessing it was to have him as our wedding officiant. David took the time to have an initial call and then physically met with us about a month before our wedding. Gary was so helpful in planning the ceremony and tailored the message to fit our love and family perfectly. 100% would recommend!! Shelly was absolutely wonderful, from the first few minutes of meeting with her via zoom we were immediately at ease and certain with our choice. She wrote a wonderful service and we had the opportunity to review it within a few days of our meeting and we made any changes we wanted. When it came to the big day, Shelly was a calming presence at the altar while waiting for the bride. The words she spoke were excellent, well delivered and loved by everyone. High Quality with Just the Right Quantity (and super-affordable)
True to the vendor’s name, our wedding was short but still very sweet! Shelly Cole was our officiant, and she sent us emails with a lot of helpful information about the process in addition to meeting with us closer to our wedding date. Shelly patiently listened to our stories and really got to know us. She was extremely personable, and it was clear she really loves what she does. It was an absolute joy meeting her. Because Shelly really wanted to make sure we loved our ceremony, she made sure we were able to see and approve the script (minus our unique vows), and we were impressed that she even spent the time to do research specific to our interests to make the ceremony that much more personalized and special! On the day, Shelly made sure to wear something that would be appropriate for our wedding look and style and delivered our ceremony script with passion and grace. Shelly also gave us a keepsake script, which includes her script and our vows, that we can keep with us. We loved every moment of our ceremony, which we now get to keep with us forever, and it was all thanks to Shelly! -

We chose Cheryl as our officiant and adored her! Before the wedding, we had a few emails and a longer video session to “meet” her and to share more about us and our vision. Cheryl is someone who makes you feel like you’ve known them forever, and it is so comforting. I think the website even mentioned how comforting and calming her smile was during ceremonies, and it was!! Rehearsal was relaxed and fun, and wasn’t done until we felt ready. The ceremony was just as light hearted, with all of the details we asked her for. At the end of the night, people even asked us how long we knew her for, because we seemed so close! Short and Sweet Weddings and Cheryl Broome are the BEST! -

Scott was amazing! He wrote such a beautiful ceremony script and worked with us to add personal touches and customize it. My husband and I love wine so his suggestion for a wine unity box was so fantastic. Scott’s experience shown through, my husband described how calming he was up there at the alter - letting us have our moment but coaching us through. He even reminded Rob to hug his brother/best man when he started tearing up behind him. He went above and beyond during cocktail hour asking each of our guests to place notes in our wine unity box. We were able to send out our ceremony video to our friends and family who couldn’t make it and we could watch this kind soul marry us again and again! Thank you Scott! -

From the beginning Shelly has been oh so sweet, helpful and compassionate as she guided me through the ceremony process. From the first conversation I knew she was the perfect person to marry us. As a surprise I wanted to include wedding vows to my stepson but I did not know how to execute so I emailed her just days from the wedding to change up the game plan. Not only was she quick to reply but she gave me several options to choose from which I greatly appreciated. She was always encouraging and gave me great feedback when I had questions or concerns. The ceremony was perfect and my surprise vows was a hit as it made my husband cry! You don’t understand this man never cries. Shelly was amazing in helping me come up with the perfect ceremony script for my wedding. Oh and how could I forget the gran finale. I mentioned to Shelly that I wanted to incorporate “shots” as a unique unity ceremony. She really helped me execute my vision and my family had a great time :) Thank You Shelly for making my wedding unforgettable! -

Our officiant, Scott, did an incredible job officiating our intimate wedding. He was very accommodating during the whole process and did a great job capturing my husband and I's vision for our wedding ceremony. He kept it lighthearted, yet serious and helped my husband and I through our tears as we said our vows! The ceremony transcript was perfect and he shared it before the wedding to make sure we were okay with everything that would be said. He really did an incredible job, you will not be disappointed with Short and Sweet Weddings. I highly recommend them! -

David Tropea did an absolutely amazing job officiating our wedding. We would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an officiant who will make your ceremony everything you dreamt it would be. David only had a few weeks to work with us, a “scheduling conflict” arose with our first officiant, and he still made the time to have an over hour long conversation with us twice to make sure he got to not only understand how we wanted our ceremony to go, but to get to know Our Story. He listened and communicated and shared his story with us as well. We even asked him to include the Catholic traditions of the “lasso,” the “arras” and the “Bible/ Rosary”. He added personal touches from our conversations together and performed everything beautifully. We are so happy we got to meet and know David. He will always be apart of Our Story from now on.

Noe Zavala, our officiant, was incredibly sweet, compassionate, funny, and professional! From our first meeting, to going over details together, to the actual ceremony on our wedding day- Noe did an amazing job! We wanted a bilingual ceremony- Noe delivered and went beyond what we hoped for our wedding ceremony! We felt that everything was very unique and personalized to our story! I am so happy we chose Short and Sweet to officiate our wedding. We were looking for 2 things: a bilingual English/Spanish and a somewhat personalized sermon. Our officiant, Noe, gave us both of those things!
He took the time to get to know us and crafted a wonderful ceremony which expressed our feelings toward each other and had enough of our story in there to really showcase who we were, and the Spanish and English was interwined beautifully.
