  Great to work with and great pictures!

  Jim was great to be around on the wedding day, and we got so many great posed and candid photos of our wedding. He also helped us prep, is super flexible on the day, and turned them around really quickly. I've seen him go above and beyond a few times now (for us, and for other family weddings)!

  Everything You Could Imagine in/from a Photographer

  If you don't choose Jim, you're making the wrong decision!!! :
  
  For one, I never have written a review, but please bear with me through this review because I have A LOT to say about working with Jim, and hopefully it provides some insight to your photographer search; whether it be weddings, senior shoots, dance shoots, etc.
  
  Jim worked with me and my husband on our wedding day (and me individually for a bridal shoot).
  
  The first day we met Jim at his studio just to talk, we were blown away. He was incredibly opening, kind, and made you feel comfortable as if you were sitting down with your favorite uncle for a cup of coffee. He showed us his beautiful studio and the many UNIQUE shots he has. At my bridal shoot, he welcomed my mother and me and took photos for hours! He is so invested in you as a client and a person and does everything to make you feel yourself so the rawest and most personable photos are captured.
  
  On our wedding day, Jim was with us from 11 am to nearly 11 pm and had full energy all day! Despite any/all nerves that somebody may have had that day, he was comforting and helped bring you back to reality and enjoy the moments. Jim pays INCREDIBLE attention to detail and will do everything in his power to create an image he can imagine, but he also catches EVERY emotional moment. Looking through our wedding pictures we can re-feel how we were in the moments of our day, and relate to how others were feeling as well.
  
  Please, please consider Jim as your photographer with any event, celebration, or milestone because he will capture everything you imagine and more, and will make sure you are having the most incredible experience as well! Jim is so passionate about his work and being with clients, and you 100% will not be disappointed in the process or the product.

  Best Decision We Made

  Wedding planning can be such a daunting task that can test your patience and provide you with challenges, however when it came to our wedding pictures I knew I didn’t have to worry. Jim was incredible from start to finish. With an extremely short notice Jim agreed to jump on a plane to PA and shoot our wedding. As a bride nervous because we were days out from the wedding, he immediately put my mind at ease, asked me questions so he knew exactly what we were looking for, and had a plan set and ready. He was great at keeping us on time, making everyone feel comfortable and laughing. Most of the time we never even noticed he was even there. When we got our pictures from Jim my husband and I kept repeating “How did he even get that shot? Did you even see him around in that moment?”. Another comment we kept repeating while reviewing our photos was, “This is my favorite picture, no wait this one is”. Jim was so professional, easy to work with, and absolutely the best decision we made. His talent in capturing those perfect moments are just incredible. If you’re looking for quality pictures and fantastic service Jim will not disappoint you, he is a true professional.

  Working with Jim from Shooting Star Photography was a pleasure from beginning to end! He met with us weeks before the wedding so that he was well prepared for the day of and knew exactly what we did and didn't want. On the day of our wedding, he captured every moment, from getting ready, to the last dance. On top of it all, the photos are absolutely stunning. Jim knew exactly when to pull us aside and capture the most unbelievable sunset photos. I can't rave about him enough. If you're looking for extremely high quality professional photography, and a super kind photographer, go with Jim.

  We had and awesome experience working with Jim from Shooting Star Photography. He had so many ideas and new techniques that he wanted to try and so far what what we have seen the pictures are amazing. One thing that really surprised us is how Jim stuck around for the entire wedding taking pictures and capturing so many memories. We are really looking forward to seeing the final results. Another thing that we like about Jim is that he gives us the rights to every photo so that we are able to get any prints we want later on. We look forward to working with Jim later on for other special events.

  Jim (of Shooting Star Photography) was an absolute pleasure to work with. I don't think you will find another photographer who is so personable, professional, and reasonably priced.   It seems almost silly to add yet another 5 star review to all the other consistently amazing ratings on here. Nevertheless, Jim played such an integral role to the most amazing day of our lives, so his praises cannot be sung enough.
  
  I wouldn't give a 5 start review if he only produced pictures that met/exceeded our expectations (which he did in spades). What sets Jim apart is a brand of professionalism that is still very much complemented by his proactive and congenial personality. I've had experiences in the past with photographers who try to dictate directions in a way that can be too imposing, but Jim is a different breed. He manages to take charge of situations as needed while always remaining pleasant and amicable with everybody (and then subsequently blending back into the background afterwards!). When many of your guests go so far as to make complimentary remarks of the photographer, even by name, you begin to appreciate just how much of an asset he was.
  
  In short, with Jim you don't just get a man-behind-the-camera that takes good pictures. You get a true professional who has an avid sense of detail, not only for taking pictures but also for managing (sometimes seemingly untenable) situations. When you get that from a person who is also a true pleasure to work with, you know there is nothing more you can ask for. Hence this review/endorsement/recommendation of the highest caliber. 5/5 for all categories. Thank you, Jim, for doing such an amazing job.

He made us feel comfortable from the second we met him and he kept everything light and fun so we just had a great time with our pictures.   Choosing Jim to be our photpgrapher was the best decisions we made when planning our wedding. Jim was very professional and responsive to our emails and questions. He gave wonderful advice when we had questions and were looking for help with the planning process. He also made both my husband and myself extremely relaxed and comfortable on our wedding day. He knew exactly what to say to our family members to get the perfect smile. We love our pictures and are having the hardest time designing our album because there are too many great pictures to choose from!!!! We would recommend Jim without question!

  I used Shooting Star Photography for my wedding this past June and my friends and family cannnot say enough about how amazing the pictures came out. Jim was incredibly flexible and was great in capturing every single moment of that afternoon and evening. Not only was he flexible to work with that day but leading up to that day and after to review photos and pick prints etc. I have also used Shooting Star Photography for my dance studio photos for the past 5 years and year after year they come out absolutely incredible. Shooting Star is the only photograper I have seen that uses the clean white background in dance photos that really make the costumes and dancers pop! I recommend Jim to everyone!

  I would highly recommend shooting star Photography to anyone!! Jim had done my wedding pictures, I booked him right on the spot! His prices were the best around, in addition he was there while I was getting ready snapping pictures and stayed until my reception was over... He was there all day!!! After I seen the pictures I was amazed, they truly came out beautiful! If you need any kind of pictures done for an event I promise you will not be disappointed with Shooting Star Photography! N

  Jim was recommended to us highly from a friend. After our first phone call with him we knew we had made the right choice. Jim was very friendly and super helpful in every piece of our wedding. His studio is very professional and he even helped with our save the dates using the engagement photos he took. Unlike all of the other photographers we spoke to, he was not worried about how many hours he would have to work at our wedding. Instead, he was worried about making our day special and capturing every moment which he did perfectly. There are so many great pictures and Jim was very good at giving direction. All of our guests and wedding party loved him and we couldn't have asked for more. Jim has a great vision and is truly an artist. If you are looking anywhere else, stop and call him!

  Jim is a wonderful photographer. We booked him a year in advance and he was there with an answer to any questions we had along the way. His package that he offers is phenomenal. We had beautiful engagement pictures taken with him, all of our family and friends LOVED them! We had different meetings along the way to make sure everything was just perfect, he made sure if that! He made us beautiful save the date magnets to send to our guests with the engagement photos he had taken. We absolutley loved them. On our final meeting he made sure that everything was in place. He let me know what I needed to have ready for him on the day of so that there weren't any issues. SUPER HELPFUL! On the day of our actual wedding Jim was there from START... getting our makeup and hair done... to FINISH.. the VERY last dance at our reception. He took amazing pictures and everyone loved him. We couldn't have asked for a better photographer. He is the owner of the company and is actually the person who is with you the day of your wedding.. unlike a lot of the bigger photographers whom you never know who you're actually getting on the "day of" which is most important. Thanks so much Jim for making our day go so smoothly and most importantly.. THANK YOU for BEAUTIFUL pictures!!! I would highly recommend him for your special day!

  Jim from Shooting Star Photography was awesome, couldnt ask for a better photographer. He took his time with his clients, and made sure we were happy. Would definately refer him to others.

  I have to say our photographer made our day such a special memorable day. He did more than enough, he was there from the beginning of the day till the end and captured every moment of the day as if it were a on going video. He takes beautiful creative photos and really knows how to keep the wedding party alive and happy. All I can say is that I spent 11 hours with him and I feel like he's family. He makes beautiful memories come alive and I cant wait to see his work in the future as I absolutely will be using him for a lifetime of families photos. I will without a doubt recommend him to anyone that desires beautiful photography. He is truly the one of a kind.

  This is a letter of recommendation for Jim Abrams and his company: Shooting Star Photography. His advice and all of the wonderful ideas for our special wedding day allowed me to completely enjoy the wedding in its entirety. I felt so relaxed knowing he was in charge of the pictures and capturing all of the important shots that we had discussed for the day. Our first brief meeting in Jim's studio was what immediately showed us that we wanted to work with him. His demeanor and professionalism was apparant.... along with an amazing smile and personality! Jim did such an amazing job on the day of the wedding by portraying everything we had discussed in our planning process. He took into consideration all of our likes and dislikes, and transformed them into the most beautiful outcome– Jim: You are a true artist!!!!
  Jim's heartfelt ways, his listening skills, and his delivery of a fabulous outcome was something that we both (and our entire family) will NEVER FORGET. We loved the way that he worked with us.
  The truth of the matter is with all that occurred during our wedding week, (our house fire along with my mother's illness) Jim was able to SAVE us a tremendous amount of stress --- by tapping into your extensive knowledge of the ins and outs of wedding photography– it went off like it was a match made in heaven!
  Jim is a true professional, as well as being one of the coolest people around, making him sooo easy to work with. It was a delight, and one experience that we are so happy to have forever in our memories. Out of all our decisions and choices for that day, Jim was the best choice by FAR.
