In addition to taking very classic-looking and beautiful photos, Rachel is the kind of person you want to be around. She has a very calming effect on you (which is exactly what a stressed out bride needs!). She is professional, thoughtful, creative, and punctual. She could charge three times as much for her expertise, but she doesn't. My husband and I are going to use her for our first set of family photos!

Rachel was awesome! When we started looking for a wedding photographer, we realized that there were two things that were most important for us:

1. Personal connection
2. Quality of pictures

We met about 4-5 photographers and as soon as we met Rachel, we knew that we both liked her a lot. We still wanted to do our due diligence and as we had thought, ended up asking her to shoot our wedding and engagement pictures. Here are some of the things why we rate her services so highly:

1. Quality of pictures: Rachel asked us for our preference, i.e. what kind of pictures we liked and were comfortable taking. Besides that, she suggested what she thought would make for great pictures. When we saw the results from our engagement and wedding pictures, we could not have been happier. My wife still believes that hiring her was the best decision. We have also gotten a lot of compliments on our pictures from a lot of people (from all walks of life).

2. Her personality: She is very laid back and not a control freak. She never rushed us and was very patient with our friends and family. We also appreciate her taking control of things during the time between wedding and reception. She was not only getting people together and organized, but also made sure that no one was getting late and we were getting the most from the limited time we all had. Although not her job, she helped out with directions and was just great.

3. Communication/Responsiveness: We had no problems getting in touch with her. Since we live in a different city, a lot of our communication was over email. However, this was never an impediment.

We both highly recommend Rachel. Weddings end up being a more stressful than they should be. It is great when you have the right people there. With Rachel we were always certain that she would take great pictures.

Rachel was a pleasure to work with. She took nearly 1,500 photos at our wedding and they all look beautiful. She captured all the feelings and memories in the photos and did them in a variety of color, black and white, and vintage looks. She was very flexible, even when our timeline didn't go according to our plans. We had to do the wedding inside the hotel because of the heat, but she found some great photo spots inside. She did a great job working with the rowdy groomsmen! I received the pictures online just after returning from the honeymoon. I highly recommend Rachel!

Rachel Naft was not only a joy to work with, but she also does wonderful photography. We are thrilled with the results and now have several hundred photos to cherish for years to come. Our closest friends are getting married next year and they just signed a contract to work with her. Rachel is very open and understanding, also patient and professional. Rachel was absolutely AMAZING! She was alwaya available by email or phone whenever I had questions- she even met with me in New York (my wedding was in D.C.) Rachel was by far the best vendor we had for our wedding. We planned our wedding from a distance and met with her once. She stayed in contact with us and kept us on task before the wedding. She also kept us on task during the wedding, fit into the mix well, and was very professional. On top of all that, the pictures are amazing! Planning a wedding can be very stressful, but having a vendor like Rachel, that can be counted on, brought a sense of ease to the event.

I found Rachel after hearing so many great things about her on the Knot forums. I had met with many other photographers before I met with Rachel, and when I met her I knew that she was the one. Her personality was very much a huge part of my decision, but her work is absolutely amazing. The stories she tells through her photography just blew me away on her website and in her sample albums. I was so glad that she had my wedding date available (although I did book her over a year in advance), so I reserved the date right away. Rachel showed up exactly on time. She took over 1200 pictures through the day and we receieved our photos online in 8 days. The disk came shortly after. Her communication is excellent through email. Many guests at my wedding told me how much they loved my photographer. The pictures turned out amazing and I can't wait to see what the album will be like. Her prices are very reasonable. Rachel Naft is a phenomenal and artistic photographer. Highly recommend her. She did our engagement photo session and was our photographer for the entire day of our wedding on Sept 18, 2010 in Springfield, VA. She did an amazing job and we love the pictures! Rachel is a outstanding photographer, very professional and easy to work with (before, during and after the wedding). She was very helpful posing, arranging and making sure eveyone looked their best- from the shy little flowergirl to the not-so-shy groomsmen.
