Ridgewell's did a fantastic job and we couldn't have been happier with our evening. Numerous guests told us how much they enjoyed the dinner, appetizers and desert. They brought plenty of staff to ensure that our guests didn't have to wait for a drink served our 150 guests dinner quickly. Ridgewell's staff went out of their way to accommodate us and delivered on every promise they made - they executed perfectly our vision for what the room should look like and how the evening should flow. We were worried about effectively communicating what we wanted for the event and quickly realized that Ridgewell's staff are professionals in understanding exactly what you want. We were extremely happy with Ridgewell's and highly recommend their services!

Working with Ridgewells Catering was a great experience. From the initial tasting to pulling off our reception catering without a hitch, I was very impressed with Ridgewell's professionalism, flexibility, and creativity. We worked closely with Deidre to plan the food for our wedding. She has such a thoughtful attention to detail and positive, upbeat personality that she really made the process a lot of fun!

As well, the servers were very professional and did a fantastic job. And, to top it all off, the food was delicious. Everyone raved about how great the food tasted -- from the hors d'oeuvres to the starter salad and soup to the main course. Ridgewells really understands their business and works to make each client feel like their event is going to be fabulous - and they make sure that it all goes off seamlessly -- from set-up to clean up.

The entire planning process with Deirdre was great -- and she even arranged for a second tasting because the company had new appetizers they wanted us to sample and because we wanted their cookies to look more home-made than professionally baked. Deidre even tracked down an obscure apple cider that we wanted to use for our toasts instead of champagne. From start to finish, Deidre went above and beyond, and I am so grateful to her for that.

I would highly recommend working with Deidre and the entire Ridgewells' team on your wedding or event.

Outstanding. That's the only way to describe the food, service and customer care from Ridgewells. We have used them for house parties and decided we liked them so much, we'd do our 175 person wedding with them. Wonderful. The food was easy to select and they worked with my requests for changes. They were on time, well staffed and not one glass or plate was empty - ever. We couldn't have asked for a better planner than Polly. She gets you as a client and works so well with wedding planners, bands, venues, decorators and florists. She takes everything in stride and is there to cool you off with a beverage or get you the apps you didn't get cuz you were were mingling. We will not hesitate to use them again - in fact, they're doing our holiday party! The food was out of this world and one of my foodie friends commented it was the best he's had in a while. My Iowa family was impressed we chose comfort food for them, yet some fancy food for them to try (and like). Outstanding!

Ridgewells is easily the best catering company in the DC area! We had a wonderful experience working with Polly. She knew our venue well, knew how to handle the heat (late July wedding) and was offered exceptional service. The food was delicious. We told her what we were interested in and she came up with a menu that was spot on. We did a buffet that included beef tenderloin, salmon, mac and cheese, potatoes, spinach and strawberry salad, summer succotash, biscuits, and corn muffins. Everyone raved about the food! The apps were perfect, especially the fried green tomato slider, mini crab cake, and mini lobster roll. Even the lemonade and ice tea were great. The staff was professional and made sure the bride and groom had what they needed. The best touch was the wet towels they brought around for people to put on their necks to cool down in the heat. I couldn’t have asked for a better catering company!

After researching caterers in the DC area, it was clear that Ridgewells was the best. Friends who work at local businesses, universities and embassies raved about the events that Ridegwells catered for them. In choosing them as the caterer for our wedding, what we discovered was that not only is Ridgewells an amazing business, but they also employ two of the best people, Toby and Chris. They were absolutely incredible. They found ways to accommodate our various (and sometimes random) desires for our multi-cultural wedding. They were totally on board with integrating at times very different ideas, and really worked with us to make our wedding fantastic. Importantly, they did so while working within our strict budget. Toby and Chris emailed us regularly with ideas, and they always responded promptly to questions, no matter the day or time.

Obviously, the main thing to look for in a caterer is the food. We were a little concerned about not getting to taste it before signing the contract, but once we met with them, there was no hesitation. It was clear from the way that they handled themselves and the facilities that everything would be top notch. They did a great job of finding a menu that accommodated our diverse guests, most of whom are still talking about the food, the cake, and the attentive staff.

We could keep going on about Ridgewells, but one last thing is that the day of the event, which Ridgewell's ran from start to finish, it rained. It rained a lot. Instead of trying to force our events inside and get things going, Toby and Chris came up with an alternative plan and we were able to wait out the rain. It would have been fine to have our ceremony indoors, but it was really nice to see how much they cared about ensuring that we got the wedding that we wanted. Ultimately, this is why we were so happy with Ridgewells. Throughout the process, we felt that Toby and Chris had one goal: doing whatever they could to make sure we were happy on our wedding day.

One word: YUM! I can't describe how great it was working with Ridgewells. From the first phone call to the last bite of cake at the wedding, Ridgewells has been an amazing vendor. The food is top of the line and absolutely delicious, but beyond that, the staff is incredibly friendly, professional, and helpful. Both of the event designers we worked with were amazing and designed a menu that reflected all of our wants--including making cotton candy pops, a first for them! The staff at the wedding were also very attentive and were always asking if we need something to drink or eat, making sure to make plates for us. I highly recommend this vendor. They will make the process fun and fill you and your guests with the greatest food!

I LOVED working with Rachel at Ridgewells. She is professional, accommodating, warm, creative, and knows how to execute your evening perfectly! The food was amazing, we had a filet, a chicken breast and a veggie option (which was rissotto) our guests indicated which meal choice they wanted before the wedding and we submitted the numbers to Rachel. We didn't want a traditional "wedding cake" so Rachel worked with me to create a cake "buffet" with 3 different flavors, I think all of the cake was GONE by the end of the night! She was also VERY open to suggestions/ideas and any dietary restrictions our guests had. We created our own hor dourve for the cocktail hour and wanted a root beer float station and she made that all happen flawlessly! She brought my husband and I food and drinks and was constantly watching over the tables to make sure they had what they needed. Her staff was also very professional, and on top of things! If we ever have to cater another event, I know who I am calling! :)

Ridgewells was absolutely fantastic! We worked with Rachel Gittens, she's great. We had met with another catering company before talking with Rachel (we had a limited list of allowed caterers at our venue, Woodend), but Rachel - and Ridgewells -was much more professional and really listened to what we wanted.

The food was excellent, and the service was impeccable. They made sure we always had something to eat, which my husband was very concerned about. :) We brought our own cake and even a chocolate fountain, and did a great job at dealing with the other vendors.

I'd recommend them to anyone!!

Our cake was AMAZING! We are very decisive, so the rest of the wedding planning was easy, but we couldn't decide on a cake. Then we went to a tasting at Ridgewells and tried the Coconut Cheesecake. It was over. It is a layer of white cake, a layer of coconut cream, and then a layer of coconut cheesecake covered in white (real) buttercream. Not a single person at our wedding skipped the cake. We didn't have it decorated super fancy, just basic swiss dot, but it was still so beautifully done. While it was expensive, it was so worth it. I would recommend Ridgewells cakes and pastries to anyone looking for plain old delicious.

Ridgewells has made my favorite cake for a long time, so when I was getting married out of town, it became an issue to have that cake. Issue solved. The pastry chef made me the most delicious cake and he put it together and gently froze it so it would make the trip to the shore and still be perfectly fresh. It was yummy! I look forward to eating the top layer next October!

We worked wtih Deirdre Feely at Ridgewells. The food was amazing, her ability to handle all the helpers that were coordinating with me for the event gracefully was superb. We worked with Deirdre for my father's 60th birthday and there was no doubt who to call when it was time for my wedding. The staff was professional and I heard absolutely no complaints about the two nights that they catered for us. Although Ridgewells pricing might be on the higher end, you definitely get what you pay for. The food and service were just perfect!

Colleen Foley Walsh and Chris Payton were, simply put, amazing to work with. My fiance and I researched a ton of caterers, and were the most impressed with their professionalism, attention to detail, price, and quality of food.

We had a fusion wedding (Indian / American), but our food was all Indian. My husband's family and friends for the most part had never had Indian food (how is that possible?!?), and were very hesitant at the thought of them potentially not eating. Colleen and Chris were able to figure out a menu that fused the two perfectly. EVERYONE, literally, loved our food, which was a huge shock for us. They were also incredibly thoughtful to pack our left over food and give to our planner (who froze it for us so we could have it when we came back from the honeymoon---we ate every last bite!). No rubbery chicken here, and everything was flavorful.

Chris is actually the specialty, trained Indian chef. This is a huge asset for all those who want Indian food and/or have ethnic cuisines (he knows all!). But most importantly, Ridgewells runs a tight operations where quality and service are truly important (not just said for marketing purposes); they are not willing to sacrifice their name for weddings or events where that could potentially happen. They will be honest with you that they just can't do your wedding if that's the case. They were flexible with the fact that we didn't want a wedding cake (well, just a small one was fine...all we did was cut it and feed each other!). Instead, we had an ice cream sundae bar, which everyone loved, and then Georgetown Cupcakes as the favor (all proceeds went to the Komen Foundation, the main reason I chose that). Also, they have a great reputation with various vendors, so you can get recommendations from them and vice versa.

Every vendor I chose knew Colleen in some way. Chris was relatively new to the company, though understood the industry well. They were there on the day of the wedding, made sure everything was properly done, and not an ounce of problems came up from their end (or at least that I was made aware of!). We also had an incredible wedding planner/day of coordinator who worked well with them, and told me after the fact that she really enjoyed working with them.

They have flexible payment terms, and loved the fact that you're not charged extra for using a credit card. I financed my entire wedding on 0% credit cards, and being able to charge it on separate cards made a big difference. Given the fact that we used a beverage vendor instead of having them provide the alcohol, we saved a ton of money and they knew people at that company (Alma at CE Beverage) to ensure it went smoothy. Plus, they do a ton of weddings and events every year...they know all the key people in the industry and can even recommend venues if you're searching for them.

Overall, they went above and beyond, and I completely entrusted their position and professionalism. If you don't micro-manage the process, your vendor will shine and exceed your expectations (if you truly choose a vendor that knows the business and is professional). I didn't give many instructions to the caterer, but had very specific tastes for the food, and they definitely met those needs perfectly. One of our guests owns an Indian restaurant and is the main person behind their food creations. She thought highly of the food and was surprised to find it was't a restaurant.

For those who are considering to hire a restaurant to cater, be extremely cautious!! I wanted to do that, but they are in the business of the food aspect, not all the other intangibles necessary for your wedding day (like set-up, professionalism around guests, nice serving dishes, patience, etc). Restaurants just want to deliver the food, and most of their staff are not great servers. Can't go wrong with Ridgewells---really, they are exceptional and honest!

We had a very good experience with Ridgewells. Our event coordinator, Rachel, was excellent. She listened to what we wanted, patiently answered all of our questions and had excellent suggestions for our event. We had a small reception in our church's courtyard with about 50 guests, but I felt like Rachel still treated our event with a lot of care. I guess Ridgewells typically holds tastings a few times a year, but did not hold one before our wedding so Rachel scheduled one just for us. The food was all really good (we had passed hors d'oeuvres and some light foods - 4 kinds of mini-sandwiches, fruit salad, hummus and dips and a cheese display) and the cake was fantastic. All of the serving staff did a great job as well.

Ridgewells did a fantastic job. I worked with Polly and her assistant Bahar. In late March (3/08), we attended a group tasting that was specifically designed for spring/summer weddings. The food was amazing!! We made a couple of selections at the tasting, and we also saw a few table displays that helped us choose our linens, etc.

On the wedding day, Ridgewells was absolutely terrific. Polly and Bahar made sure that the tables were set-up exactly as I wanted - Polly brought everything to the venue herself (cake knife, flutes, guest book, place cards, menus, favors). This was very helpful since I didn't hire a wedding planner or day-of coordinator. Throughout the night, the staff was very friendly and gave our guests excellent service. Ridgewells also provided our wedding cake (it was just like the picture I showed them), and they took care of all the beverages, including an open bar (they have the required liquor license). My husband and I had a waiter serving us all night - we never had an empty glass.

In summary, Ridgewells accommodated all of my requests, and they did an excellent job. I'm really glad I chose them!

First of all, I have to just say the food was AMAZING! While we had a relatively smaller wedding, we were willing to pay Ridgewell's prices because the food was very important to us. I have been to so many weddings where my friends had raved about their caterer after the tasting, but the food fell flat at the wedding-- that did NOT happen with Ridgewells. Everything was just as flavorful, delicious, and elegantly presented at the reception as it was on the day we tasted it and the chef cooked it personally for us. The waitstaff was professional and helpful. Ridgewells allowed us to design our own appetizer based on something we'd had while traveling and loved, and also created a new flavor of cheesecake for us which everyone raved about! The only problem we had was that the event designer we were originally working with left the company a few months into the planning process, and at first we didn't feel like the new contact assigned to us was invested or interested in our event. We met with her at one point and it was clear she was not prepared for the meeting. At the time, it seemed like a big problem to me as a bride, but overall it was really just a small hiccup in the process. We set up a follow up meeting and she was all business and had great ideas at that time! She came through at the end, and ended up planning a beautiful evening! I would definitely recommend Ridgewells.

Caterer: Ridgewell's. Contact - Christina Baxter. Awesome. Ridgewells is a class act. We attended several tastings on the ToTT approved caterer list and Ridgewells was far and away the best. Fortunately the pricing came in very competitively as well and we were able to go with them. Christina was very helpful and creative and really worked with us to get exactly what we wanted. We had a cocktail reception with heavy passed hors d?oeuvres and stations. We planned the food around our heritages and places we've lived and it was a huge hit. The service was also impeccable, the staff was so professional and I felt like everything was under control the whole time - even through a fairly complicated post-ceremony room transition. It all went beautifully and the food was SO good. People are still talking about it and my only complaint is that there were hardly any leftovers at the end of the night! Grade: A+++++

Cake: Ridgewells. We decided to have Ridgewells do our cake also. It may have been a little more pricey than other places, but the convenience was worth it and the cake was unbelievable. For the flavors, I emailed Christina a list of flavors we were intrigued by and then we had a meeting and she showed up with three HUGE cakes with the Baker's rendition of our ideas. I brought them into my office for a tasting and people loved them! We ended up going with Dark Chocolate with Peanut Butter Mousse and Napoleon (White Chocolate and Chocolate cake with strawberry rum custard). The actual cake was enormous and looked exactly like the photo I provided (in by bio). I seriously gasped when I saw how big the cake was. I'm pretty sure we won't make it a year before eating the layer in our freezer! Grade: A+
