Glamour and Beauty
Our wedding was magnificent in this venue and we were so thrilled. What a venue - you can't go wrong. We are British and wanted a formal wedding, with fascinator hats and the Mansion was first class! The Mansion recommended Elegant Savannah Weddings for their preferred coordinator, and the planning was excellent between the. We used the courtyard for the ceremony and the ballroom for the reception. Glamorous, beautiful and outstanding. Also a quick walk to the park for fountain photos. Staff were wonderful. -

Flawless experience
This venue was absolutely perfect for my wedding. All the staff were wonderful and accommodating toward my guests and acted with the utmost professionalism--ensuring I had the best day of my life. I worked with Mary Channaj, one of the event coordinators, and she helped me throughout the entire planning process: doing conference calls, rapidly replying to every email, and documenting everything perfectly so that the day was an exact reflection of what I asked for. Planning a wedding is so nerve-wracking and emotional (and I was an out-of-town bride!), but Mary was always composed and completed her job FLAWLESSLY. I'll always think of the Mansion with a smile, thanks to my experience with Mary and the overall awesomeness of this hotel!! -

There are no words!!!!
I don't know how to adequately put into words the experience I had having my wedding at the Mansion. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING was top notch, 5 star and exceeded my expectations. From the first phone call with Leslie Harbin to working closely with Lea McGIlloway my planner, everything was perfect. Even though our wedding was very small (around 50 guests) Lea treated me like I was her family member, and made me feel like mine was the only wedding she was planning. She was organized, beyond responsive, caring and SUPER ON POINT!! Her and the entire staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was PERFECT! The way the room was decorated and set up, all the touches and planning were beyond. All the guests were raving about the food and desserts, as well! They are still talking about how delicious everything was. I cannot thank you all enough for making everything a dream and stress free. I wish I could do it again!!! -

Beautiful venue, great food and wonderful service all around!
I had a great experience working with the Mansion on planning my wedding. The venue is absolutely beautiful and everyone I dealt with at the Mansion was helpful and professional. Krysti was the event coordinator that I worked with. She was very responsive and helped my husband and I plan a menu that fit within our budget. Krysti coordinated with the chef to make adjustments to the menu that we requested and all I heard from our guests was how great the food was! I was very satisfied with my experience in planning my reception with Krysti and I was very happy with the event itself. I would definitely recommend this venue for a wedding reception. -

Simply, the best!!
Exceeded our expectations in every way. The food, the ballroom, the service, the location--all was outstanding! They accommodated our requests, even when they had never such things done before (ex. a bourbon bar, a putt-putt area). And did I mention that they put all of this together one day after the town returned from a hurricane evacuation? HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Our wedding day was truly memorable. -

We absolutely LOVED having our wedding reception at the Mansion at Forsyth Park! Krysti and all of her team are incredible, and made sure all of our needs were met every step of the way. The atmosphere there is a one of a kind experience, and makes for the perfect reception venue. -

I don't even know where to start. I cant thank everyone at the Mansion on Forsyth Park enough for making my wedding day so special. Christine was professional, responsive, and all around amazing. She went above and beyond and answered any question or concern I possibly had. The ceremony and reception space was beautiful not to mention the entire hotel! The food was great and everyone had a blast. I'm so sad its now over but, I definitely will be back! Thank you for everything! -

I don't even know where to begin! From the moment I arrived at The Mansion, several days before our wedding, I was treated like a Queen! They stored all of our wedding supplies! Our room was exquisite and we were ALWAYS greeted by a friendly person. The Mansion has the BEST staff! Every person we encountered went out of their way to greet us, smile and strike up conversation. Our wedding day exceeded my expectations!! The property itself is spectacular and the ball room is fabulous!!! Our guests raved about the atmosphere and decor. Cocktail hour was not only gorgeous, but a wonderful introduction to the reception...the appetizers and cocktails were flowing and our guests were treated like royalty! When dinner was served, it kept with the amazing pace, as dinner was delicious!!! Thank you to all who made our day one to remember and truly magical! -

I don't even know where to begin. We had our destination wedding in Savannah, GA. It was the first venue I looked at when I went down for site visits in 2015 with my mother. It was hard not to fall in love with it at first glance (but I did anyway). The ceremony site in the marble courtyard was stunning and the reception hall looked absolutely gorgeous on our wedding day. I couldn't be happier. Blair Simpson, our event coordinator, was professional, fun and easy to work with. She kept us updated and communicated with us through the entire process. Most importantly, she was patient in dealing with us as we were planning a wedding from out of town. The staff at the Mansion was amazing as well and catered to our every need. Shout out to the culinary staff as the food was out of this world. Every guest raved about the apps as well as the main course. We truly loved everything about our day at the Mansion and would do it all over again and again. -

I had my wedding at the Mansion and I cannot recommend it more. Leslie Harbin was incredibly helpful during my entire wedding planning process and the quality of service we received exceeded all of my expectations. The food was incredible and the ballroom looked like something out of a fairy tale. I would recommend the Mansion on Forsyth Park to anyone looking to get married in Savannah. -

The mansion is absolutely beautiful. It has always been one of our favorite places in Savannah. We couldn't think of a more perfect location for our reception. The service was great, we did have a couple issues leading up due to turnover in a couple positions, but everything worked out and the staff were so professional and accommodating. Blair was so great to work with and so accommodating. Most of our out of town family stayed at the mansion for the weekend and the service was great and everyone the roughly enjoyed their stay. The rooms are gorgeous and so unique. The food for our reception was outstanding, friends and family are still talking about it months later! I also had my bridal luncheon in Oke of the private rooms upstairs at the restaurant which was beautiful and the food was delicious. the wait staff and bartenders were amazing and were so accommodating to all our guests. it was truly an amazing experience for our wedding weekend. -

Everything was amazing! We did have a couple of hiccups before the big day but Blair was amazing and put my mind at ease and everything was taken care of. The wait staff couldn't have been nicer and the valet, we made fast friends with one of the valet. His name starts with a D and I know he's joining the Navy. He's so kind and I'm sorry for not remembering his name but anyway. The Mansion exceeded our expectations and are so happy with everything. -

The Mansion location is absolutely stunning! We had our ceremony in the courtyard under the stunning white tent and chandelier and the reception in the Venetian Ballroom. The venue is so gorgeous on its own you don't need much decor! The staff was amazing and very accommodating. The food was spectacular, all the guests gave compliments! Leslie and Brandi were both a pleasure to work with! -

My dream wedding was held in Sept. 2013 at the Mansion on Forsyth Park. This venue was beyond what I imagined it would be; breathtakingly beautiful and the staff, particularly, the Event Service Manager, Charnay Westbrook, was beyond amazing. Charnay had great customer service and followed through on every request and inquiry. The service and attention to detail exceeded my expectations. They made our day special and stress-free. The catering staff was absolutely superb. The food and wait staff was a pleasure to work with. The food was very flavorful and presented well. The wait staff was extremely attentive and had great customer service. -

We scouted this place out in 2011 for our wedding and fell in love with it. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are luxurious, the beds are comfy, and the staff is very attentive. Needless to say, we decided on the Mansion for our wedding.
We stayed 3 days for the wedding and our entire party loved the place as well. Effie was our wedding coordinator and was a joy to work with. The staff were very flexible and accomidating for any requests.
We dined at 700 Drayton for breakfast and the shrimp and grits are not to be missed. The staff at breakfast left a little to be desired for, they were SO slow, but 700 Drayton also catered our wedding and the food and the servers were fabulous.
We had drinks at both bars/lounges and the bar staff weren't the most attentive initially, but once you got an order in, they were quick to keep check on the levels and ask if you wanted another.
Valet service was hit and miss, we had several errands to run and had the car out a few times, some times the car was brought to us immediately, others it took 5-10 mins, which is a lot considering the parking is right behind the hotel.
Rooms were clean and spacious, all 5 guest rooms that our party had booked had different layouts and color schemes, splurge for a park view it's so nice.
Overall, we love this hotel and of course it will always hold a fond memory for us, but I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a romantic get away or a luxurious weekend. The location to the park is wonderful, one of the trolley's has a stop right outside the hotel, and are close to numerous little cafes.

Jeannie Green is fantastic. She was there for me through the 6 months of planning our wedding ceremony and reception - she was responsive, flexible and was completely understanding as we had to "roll with the punches" of wedding planning. I had a day-of coordinator as part of the intimate package we purchased, and the Mansion uses Tricia Huddas who was also great. The banquet staff was great - Cassandra and her team were completely on the ball. Our entrees lagged a little in the kitchen, but keep in mind we were using the upstairs galeries. Food was outstanding. Completely recommend, hands down and beautiful location, great service and good value. -

My reception dinner was actually held in the adjoining restaurant at 700 Drayton but I dealt with Candice, the catering manager at the Mansion on Forsyth. She was great, patient (even when I changed everything at last minute) and went beyond what I needed and paid for. She even got me Chivari chairs when it was outside my budget. She made everything so easy and smooth going. The catering itself was out of this world, the food was unbelievably delicious. 5 stars all the way. -

We just had our wedding at the Mansion and everything was perfect. They were very attentive to our requests and needs. Not one thing went wrong throughout the planning or day. Jeannie was great to work with and all the staff at the hotel was very accommodating. They made not only us but all that attended the wedding feel very special. I would expect that, however, for such a nice and pricey place. It was definitely worth the money. -

This was by far one of my favorite vendors! We had our cocktail reception in the courtyard followed by our reception in the ballroom. Everything was flawless, gorgeous and hassle-free! You are not able to bring in outside catering, however, there food was terrific (we had plated dinners) and offered plenty of selection for our guests. I would recommend this venue without a doubt!!! -

I loved this place! I had a little confusion with the planning at the beginning, due to process of them changing event mangers. Once that was settled, it was perfect! Jeannie Green did an amazing job of keeping me on track and getting me everything I want! They have great recommendations for who to use for your wedding and the hotel it's self is gorgeous!!!! We actually used the new renovated "Fort", which is perfect for an outdoor wedding. Loved it!! :) -

The Mansion on Forsyth saved the day for me!! We were scheduled to have our wedding ceremony at Monterey Square, but the Friday before the wedding thunderstorms moved in. My entire wedding party was staying at the Mansion, so I called them to see if we could use the courtyard as a backup and right away they offered it to me at a great last minute rate. I should have just had it here to begin with. The courtyard at the mansion is unlike any other setting it is so intimate, classy and charming. I highly recommend this venue. It is beautiful. Everyone is still talking about the Mansion and they loved the hotel and the rooms as well. It was quite an experience. -

We're so happy with choosing The Mansion to host our wedding ceremony and reception. We used their intimate wedding package for 25 people. The location and decor of this place is superb. The food was absolutely delicious. What I especially love about The Mansion is their willingness to cater to my needs. When I told them that I wanted to have a Halloween themed wedding, they were very excited about hosting the event and showed me the areas where I could have the dinner, such as the Carriage Wine Cellar, which had a lovely dark decor with animal skulls on the walls. Having dinner in the wine cellar was the highlight of the event. The decor was perfect for a Halloween night. The service was fantastic. One of my guests was a vegetarian and the chef was able to prepare something special for her so that she could enjoy a good dinner. The wedding coordinator the Mansion hired was superb. She kept in touch with all of my vendors and made sure the ceremony ran smoothly. My guests were very happy with how well organized everything was. -

My husband and I could not have been more thrilled with the Mansion on Forsyth Park. We had the wedding of our dreams in a setting that was not only stylish but different. The decor alone pretty much sealed the deal for us when we were first looking for ceremony/reception sites. The service and food went above and beyond our expectations. It was such a perfect day, partly thanks to this amazing venue! -

We recently had our wedding in Savannah and it was a tremendous success! The ceremony was held in a nearby square and the social hour and dinner were at the Mansion on Forsyth Park. The staff was excellent and very calm as the date approached all of our concerns were swept away by their professional approach and they made us feel confident that everything would go as planned and it did. Charnay was our event manager and she had excellent suggestions and solutions to any issues that popped up. All of our guests were very pleased with the meals as were we and the staff handled the dinner perfectly. We could not think of anything that we would do differently and we highly recommend using the Mansion for your wedding day. -

The Mansion is so unique due to it's original structure and artwork-lined walls. Our ceremony was held in the marble courtyard, which is gorgeous. The reception was in the Viennese ballroom, which has so much of it's own character that decorating it was easy. I chose yellow, blue and orange flowers, which looked beautiful with the gold walls. We also had a bar and some patio furniture and high-tops outside in the courtyard during the reception. The food was guite good. The best part was working with Jeannie, who was so attentive and flexible. Even though she is incredibly busy and was planning about 20 other weddings while working with me, she always responded to emails in a timely and productive manor. We loved our wedding and wish we could do it all over! -

I choose the Mansion because of the beauty (great for photos) and I was getting married in Forsyth Park and could just walk across the street to the ceremony. My wedding was held in April and the staff at the Mansion went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The location couldn't be better, food was wonderful, ceremony was unforgettable. All of our guests had a wonderful time and were blown away by the uniquely elegant location. Thank you for making our wedding day unforgettable. -

Magical Christmas Wedding
Throughout the day, I found myself in disbelief that we were having our wedding in such a stunning location at the exquisite @mansiononforsythpark . Every guest had wow moments every time they turned any corner. The hotel even employs some of the nicest people - front desk ladies are always smiling and even the valets go above and beyond.
The catering team blew us away and guest are STILL commenting on how delicious the food was - I've heard numerous people say that that was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. Everything was cooked perfectly and had incredible flavor. Also, the catering staff was extremely professional and super kind. And a special shout out to our bartenders - best Old Fashions in Savannah.
Finally, this wedding wouldn't have been possible without our amazing venue coordinator, Mary Channaj. When I say fairy godmother, I absolutely mean it as she pulled out all the stops to make the day the most magical it could be. From helping us create a hot chocolate bar to setting up a private dinner during the reception for my Husband and I in the gallery to answering my hundreds of questions - she was easily the best part of the entire experience with the Mansion. Such a cheerful, positive, organized soul and every interaction was a joy with her. She served us our meals on our wedding night and that was such a delightful surprise. This woman is such an asset to the Mansion team and our day wouldn't have been as unforgettable without her hard work.
Go stay at the Mansion for the weekend, make a reservation at their restaurant, or just stop in for a drink at their bar. Great people, a perfect setting, in a wonderful city. Thank you all. ⛲ -

I could not have asked for a better wedding experience with The Mansion. Leslie Harbin and her team handled everything perfectly and with ease. The food was delicious and we had many options for our guests to choose from. The space was beyond beautiful and the service was top notch. Even when some of my requests were non-traditional, Leslie provided solutions that made sense for the venue, while still making my dream wedding a reality. I would not hesitate to book another event there and recommend the venue to anyone planning their wedding. It was magical! -

The Mansion on Forsyth is an absolutely gorgeous venue. We had our ceremony in the Marble Garden Courtyard and had a sit down dinner reception in the ballroom. Everything about our wedding felt beautiful and luxurious. It was also very convenient to have fewer vendors to coordinate, as everything was at one location, and the Mansion catered dinner and the bar. The day of the wedding, all of the staff we encountered were very professional and courteous. Both my husband and I are from Savannah, so it was also great to be able to take wedding photos in Forsyth Park which holds so many memories for us. It was truly a dream come true! -

First of all, this venue is gorgeous. It was love at first sight. Everyone there is so professional and accomodating and the food was delicious. I had a small destination wedding, and the intimacy that this venue provides is amazing. The great thing about it is that it can accomodate larger weddings as well. There are many options! They do have specific rules and regulations, but everything is within reason. The park across the street is beautiful. I would definitely recommend this venue to any engaged couple. -

The Mansion played a huge role in making our wedding such a great time and beautiful evening. They did a great job on setting things up and working with us for close to flawless evening. The only issue we had was with reservations for our guests. Sometimes there were some confusion and a few guests were not put on our block. However, over all it was fantasic and highly recommend having a wedding here. It will be beautiful and just how you imagine it. -

An exceptional Southern Hotel! The service and decor here were amazing; the food was nothing less than superb. You indeed get what you pay for as the minimum food & beverage cost for a Saturday in $25,000.00 A unique and luxurious place to celebrate the beginning of your new life with friends and family. The setting is almost worth the $25,000.00 in itself; a true Savannah Gem! -

In general the service was exceptional. We worked with Candice, she was very professional. She made sure everything was in place even though she was out of town the week of the wedding. We booked an Intimate Wedding Package with the dinner up in the Kessler and Onyx Galeries'. The servers went above and beyond to make sure all of our personal items we returned to our room. Many compliments from those whom chose filet mignon, the roasted chicken was just that roasted chicken. -

Prior to our wedding day my rating would have been a bit lower especially on quality of service and responsiveness leading up to the day, HOWEVER, a huge catastrophe happened courtesy of one of my wedding party members and Lindsey F.was on top of things. Lindsey and our coordinator set us up a whole new wedding in a matter of hours!! We dealt with 4 different contacts leading up to the day and when we were finally assigned to Lindsey we could not have been happier!!! SO, if you want to book a wedding here make sure to ask for Lindsey because she and the wait staff are the ONLY reason we had an incredible wedding (and as a side if you are going with one of their planners ask for Tricia Huddas!)!!! -

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Mansion on March 26, 2011. Jeannie Greene is the events coordinator there, and she is amazing! She was extremely attentive to our needs and made our evening awesome. The Mansion is definitely not a cheap place to have a wedding, but it is so very worth it. Our guests said that it was the most beautiful wedding they have ever been to. They are still talking about it. They could not get over the elegancy of the Marble Courtyard and the ballroom. It's one of THE most classy places to have a wedding in all of Georgia, and dare I say, the Southeast Coast? The ambiance is breathtaking and so romantic. We saved and saved to have our wedding there, and it was worth every dime and minute of our time. -

We hosted 135 guests at The Mansion for our wedding in January. Many of our guests were from out of town and the ones that stayed at The Mansion raved about their stay at the hotel. The cocktail hour was held in the Marble Courtyard and the area that is the art gallery; the reception was held in the Viennese Ballroom. Leading up to the wedding Andrea Powers was our point of contact. She was always extremely helpful and responsive. My husband and I met with her multiple times as did my mother and I. Andrea was a huge asset leading up to and the day of the wedding. We had a lot of personalized touches and her staff incorporated everything just as we'd asked. The ballroom was stunning - everyone commented to us how beautiful it looked. I didn't get a chance to eat dinner, but our guests told us that the meal we chose was delicious. There were only two glitches: we were told that our dinner had been boxed and would be delivered to our room - by the end of the night we were starving and come to find out, our meal was apparently delivered to the wrong room. They have given us a gift certificate for a meal at any Kessler hotel though. The second glitch was that unfortunately one of our guests was too drunk and began destroying some of the favors we'd bought to give out at the end of the evening. The bar staff saw this happening and did nothing to stop it or intervene. I consider these small issues and everything else at The Mansion was amazing. We were all well taken care of and everything was beautiful. -

My wedding day was amazing, and I am glad that I chose to have my reception at the Mansion. My ceremony was outdoors in one of Savannah's squares, so having the backup rain location of the Mansion's beautiful marble courtyard provided me with tremendous peace of mind! (Thankfully the weather cooperated, though!)
The banquet staff were wonderful - they are all extremely professional. They put on a HUGE number of weddings here, and the experience definitely shows. There were no little snags on the day of the wedding - all the small details were handled beautifully. The food was wonderful, our many out-of-town guests were very impressed with the hotel's unqiue decor, and we loved being able to head upstairs to the bar at the hotel restaurant for our impromptu after-party!
As I said, I am glad I had my wedding at the Mansion, and given the opportunity I would make the same decision again. However, I do have to pieces of criticism. Although I found that the event coordinators went out of their way to see that I had everything I needed, I found the front desk staff to be rather unhelpful. As our guests stayed elsewhere, this really only impacted me (as I got ready with my bridal party in one of their rooms beforehand) and my husband (we stayed over on our wedding night). My other critique is that over the course of my 11-month engagement, I worked with THREE different event coordinators - the staff turnover rate seems to be very high. Happily, almost every detail of our event was clearly communicated from each outgoing coordinator to the incoming coordinator, and the transitions went more smoothly than I would have anticipated, but it did make the planning process a little more stressful! -

For starters, The Mansion is an absolutely stunning contemporary venue. The decor is unlike anything else you will find in Savannah. The location on Forsyth Park does not get much more romantic. The food was unreal ( filet and sebass.) It was everything I ever wanted in a wedding when choosing my venue back in September 2012. Since the time we booked our wedding until the actual wedding in October 2013, The Mansion has gone through quite a few changes as far as event coordinaters and staffing in general ( which in expected in the restaurant industry.) However, the communication and responsiveness progressively got worse until early August, when Charnay came on board. She had a lot of cleanup to do after the last event coordinator and she truly did an amazing job in the two months she had been in her position. The day of the wedding, The Mansion staff was "OK". They definitely did not go over and beyond their duties. If it were not for my own weekend of wedding planner and extremely flexible parents and friends, our wedding would not have turned out the way it did. Bottom line, do not expect anything extra or overly accommadating from The Mansion. Have your own crew to help setup and breakdown at the end of the night. My wedding was a dream come true and friends and family have said it was one of the nicest weddings they have ever been to, however I can truly say it was my family and friends that made it that way, not the Mansion staff. -

We had our ceremony elsewhere and used the Mansion on Forsythy's ballroom for our reception and the courtyard for our cocktail hour. Both venues are beautiful and require little to no decorations. It is a unique space. As a bonus, they offer a free night's stay if you hold your reception there. The night of the wedding, the bartender and wait staff were great. They were professional, super friendly and very responsive to all of our requests.
I would recommend this venue, however, do not rely on the management staff to serve as a wedding planner. Double-check everything. Three times we had to ask them to return payments to us because they double-charged us. To their credit, they returned the payment promptly after we notified them of the mistake. However, if we had not been paying attention this could have affected our ability to pay our other vendors on time. Also, some of the items we requested in advance were not delivered the day of the wedding. Fortunately, these were all minor requests. For example, we asked to use a certain space for our first look and the management staff assured me that they would clear out the chairs and tables in that space ahead of time. They did not. We also asked and paid for the more expensive children's menu for our younger guests. They got the less expensive dishes. They were also supposed to serve iced tea and lemonade to our guests during dinner service and they did not. To their credit, they refunded us the difference after the wedding when we pointed this out. As you can see, the mistakes that were made were largely minor and were quickly addressed when pointed out, however, any mistakes during the wedding planning process can prove stressful.
I would also recommend getting a wedding planner in lieu of relying on their wedding coordinator. This is especially true if you hold your ceremony offsite. It makes your whole day a lot smoother. I would recommend Raven of Everlasting Occasions.

The Mansion on Forsyth Park is beautiful, no doubt about it....we were very excited to be having our wedding there. It is a very opulent and unique setting...not your typical hotel style ballroom. Our event planner Jennifer Hamill was a tremendous help to us in pulling everything together for our big day, she was an absolute joy to work with.
The only thing that we were unhappy with was the 22% service fee that is tacked on to EVERYTHING and I do mean EVERYTHING....from the rental of the Mansion's courtyard for our ceremony to the rental of the ballroom fro the ceremony to the food/beverages. Not only that, but they conveniently added the 7% sales tax on to the total before charging us the service fee...I'm not sure that it is even legal to charge a service fee on sales tax, but we did not find out about these additional charges until the week of the wedding, so at that point there was nothing we could do about it. -

The Mansion on Forsyth Park is a beautiful place to hold a reception. The courtyard is gorgeous and dramatic and the ballroom is on the small side so a small wedding is ideal here. Our event planner, Angela Sheets, was thorough and very responsive via email and phone calls. We liked her suggestions on a linen vendor. She was our onsite person and made sure we were happy with the ballroom layout because we were the first wedding to use square tables. Our guests thought the venue was wonderful.
What we did not like was the lack of creativity in the menus considering we choose this venue because it had a cooking school. We constantly had to suggest things, rather than the other way around. As a destination wedding we wanted to incorporate some flavor of the south, but the Mansion kept coming back to their standard menus. At first they balked about doing a tasting for us even though their printed material states a tasting is available. Only after insisting, did they oblige. The tasting was very worthwhile and very good. We chose wines, hor d'eourves, entrees, etc. To us, that was a must.
The other real issue was the tacking on of the 22% service charge and 7% sales tax to EVERYTHING, even the charge for the courtyard and ballroom. That really adds up to serious money!
We learned early on that reservations for hotel rooms could be problematic. The day of the wedding my daughter, the bride, had a difficult time getting the upgraded room the groom reserved. Only when my daughter, the maid of honor, made a fuss, did they resolve the issue. To us, this is a separate issue from the reception, but it does add to the overall impression of the experience.

Let me first start with how beautiful the Mansion on Forsyth Park is as a hotel and wedding venue. The rooms are gorgeous, if you like boutiques, and the ballroom is the prettiest in Savannah. By far! For the look I was going for, Southern Romance and Glam, this was it! However, as far as hotels go---they are in the money making business, as will be any establishment where you choose to host a wedding where they have concerns such as hotel capacity, etc. Having said that, the F&B minimum is pretty steep. There's no way around it. Also, they nickel and dime on everything---I could not even get a TV/DVD stand for our Children's room without renting it for $300. That's taking advantage of a situation, in my opinion. But, on to some positives. The food at the reception was amazingly delicious. Guests were enchanted by the ballroom---as we even got Christmas decor, which was wonderful!!! :-) The catering and sales department worked with us up until the wedding on every detail and they were always professional. There was one minor glitch in the reception. Apparently, while doing our place cards and menu selection---I forgot to mention what my groom and I would like to eat---and I forgot to include us in the headcount. Whoops! That was prob a mistake brides have made in the past. The staff didn't seem to pleased with me at the reception. It's two plates for crying out loud. After all the money we spent, I felt like it was a minor hiccup. Overall---I'd say this was a wonderful place to have a wedding. It could have been worse! -

Let me start by saying that we LOVED our dinner celebration for 30 people after our wedding. The service staff and manager the day of our event were AMAZING, the space was INCREDIBLE and looked like something out of a magazine and everything went perfect. However, leading up to the event it was extremely frustrating. We scheduled 2 meetings with the Mansion, once before we booked and once after to confirm everything and both times we waited an HOUR to meet with someone. The one time we didn't even meet with the person we had a scheduled meeting with because they had the day off (SO WHY DID THEY BOOK A MEETING THEN?). Then we never received our event order until the day before and had no clue what time we could come in, what was going on or who we could contact. I would call and speak to someone new each and every time and although they were nice I still never received any answers. We were promised by FOUR different staff members (mind you TWO were the directors) that we would receive a picture of votives they had that would be used at our wedding and we NEVER received it and finally told them 3 hours before our wedding to just put them out and hopefully they would look good. Thankfully they did but it's still infuriating to be promised something FOUR times and never receive it. It was painfully clear that since we were only spending 5K for our dinner that we didn't matter. That's just not fair. So, if you are looking for the most gorgeous space that will knock your socks off the day of but make you INSANELY crazy leading up to your event and can handle that then this is the place for you! In the end, the event staff and manager, the way our space looked made it worth it but as a planner and someone who wants to stay on top of things it honestly brought me so much anxiety and frustration it was really hard to deal with being an out of town bride. -

The Mansion on Forsyth offers a beautiful Savannah wedding venue. We held our reception there and it was exactly what I dreamed my wedding to look like. I was a little disappointed that the event did not sure as we had scripted out in our contract (for example, half the party wasn't even served cake-- including the parent's table), which caused unwanted stress during our reception.
However, the service was polite and welcoming. Samuel the bartender was wonderful! He was also at our tasting and made us feel like we had a friend working behind the bar. -

We were very happy with how everything turned out on the day of our wedding. The cocktail hour before our reception was beautiful as well as the entire reception hall. However leading up to our wedding day it was a struggle to get responsive answers from the staff which as you can imagine put additional stress on my wife. This was compounded because we were out of towners who planned our entire wedding over the phone and internet. -

Although the space is beautiful, the staff that you work with to plan your event is completely unhelpful. We had so many problems from start to finish with them and their extreme staff turnover did not help at all! The night of the wait staff was very friendly and very responsive. For the amount of money that one spends on an event here you would think that their customer service would be unparalleled. My my how that is not the case here. -

I'm having a hard time reviewing the Mansion because I have such mixed feelings about them- not my husband though...he would give them 1's or 0's for everything.
In all fairness I think I should begin by saying my wedding was beautiful and went off without a hitch. Thankfully. But I don't know if the Mansion deserves the credit for that or the other fantastic vendors I was lucky enough to work with.
We had a small wedding and reception dinner of 30 people there. The wedding day itself was beautiful, the food was absolutely amazing, the wait staff and bartenders were great. Everything went perfectly.
The 10 months of planning prior to the wedding was another story. We had 4 wedding coordinators! 4! In ten months. After talking to other vendors in Savannah I found out that's pretty much the norm at the Mansion. I understand that there's a bit of turn-around in that line of work. Not many people could handle a bunch of bridezillas for very long. But our coordinators just seemed to drop off the face of the earth. We'd send an email only to be ignored for a few weeks and then when we would follow up again, we would learn that we had yet another person to introduce ourselves to and explain our wedding details over again. And I wanted a smaller wedding thinking it would be less drama and work!
Charnay was our final coordinator. I really felt bad for the girl because I would assume she had a lot of pissed off brides to deal with at this point- I'm sure we were not the only ones treated like this. She did a good job trying to turn things around for us but I always felt like she was a little over whelmed because of the situation she walked into and that she got little help. Just a feeling.
But I didn't intend to beat up on Charnay or any of the others we met while planning our wedding. Or even the Mansion really. It's a beautiful hotel and you will probably have a beautiful wedding there. But be prepared for some unnecessary stress and crying if you do choose them. -

Our wedding for 55 was in the marble garden & reception in Casimir's Lounge. The day of was beautiful thanks to the catering manager, the 3rd party ceremony coordinator Vanessa Saturday & the hotel staff. All of them pros. Planning leading up to it was unprofessional, frustrating & fell FAR short of expectations. DO NOT USE THIS VENUE WITHOUT AN OUTSIDE COORDINATOR. I give the day of the wedding staff a 5 & the event management staff a zero. We had 3 coordinators, weren't informed of turnover until emails/calls went unanswered for weeks. Weeks prior to the wedding I emailed Blair expressing what a bad experience we'd had so far & she said she would pass it along to the director. We never heard back from the director. She didn't properly coordinate vendor set up/drop offs as promised before the wedding & after my complaints. Blair was nowhere to be found 9am Friday when I called trying to locate the package (which was in her office- she never told me); & when the vendors were trying to reach her the week prior/week of OR the day of the wedding when they called me because they couldn't reach her. There were too many 'miscommunications' to list with all coordinators. Many of them not clarified until after my invites were sent, too late to fix. VERY unhappy with the way we were sold on this full service venue during our walk through in comparison with what was delivered. My husband was fuming.
Minor but annoying was amount charged in parking & minibar that we didn't use, and the wedding day wake up call for 9am that came at 9:38am. The bigger deal was the package for our reception we send according to all their rules, was delivered(signed for) mon & nowhere to be found Thursday. No records of where it went or who had it. Three phone calls the night before the wedding & 1 the morning of my wedding & it was finally tracked down. In the end it all worked & no guests were aware of the issues, but the experience for us is soured by all of the issues prior. -

Let's start with the positive aspects: the food was great overall and the chef is very accommodating with dietary restrictions as we had guests who were vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.; the venue space was beautiful and unique; and if you decide to stay at the Mansion, the guest rooms are quite comfortable and luxurious. Where this venue falls short is the banquet service aspect. After signing the contract and reflecting on the logistics leading up to the wedding day, constant issues started to surface related to hidden costs, delayed follow-up with wedding prep, lack of professionalism with the banquet coordinator and push back on arrangements promised by the sales team. During the wedding reception, the assigned banquet manager never showed up, the bartender served our guests select labels instead of the premium labels we ordered (and were charged for), and the food and beverage service was slow. Long story short, the venue over promised and under-delivered on our event and given the amount of time, money and emotion that is invested into this type of occasion, this wasn't the lasting memory we hoped for in terms of the reception. -

People should know that there is a NEW wedding coordinator at the Mansion now (after all the other positive reviews posted!) that made my wedding planning a DISASTER. MARTHA is the new "exceptional events coordinator". Martha is a worst NIGHTMARE for a bride. We're talking no clue what's going on, takes up to THREE WEEKS to return phone calls and emails, incorrect billing, it was Murphy's law at the last minute for my wedding and 100% because of her and whoever helps her at The Mansion.
You're pretty much ignored by her between the time you book until a week or two before your wedding. Two days before our wedding she had an "oops I got your bill wrong!" and my fiancé and I had to shell out an extra 5 grand (unexpectedly!!!) in two days! It was such nonsense! When you're spending tens of thousands of dollars at The Mansion alone for your wedding and they can't even communicate with you and get your bill right? Martha should NOT be working with brides or weddings!
Yes, it is an absolutely gorgeous venue. The rest of the staff was great including the general manager of the hotel. I had to complain to him about Martha Bleckly because it was all just so ridiculous and he was very nice and professional.
The icing on the cake? (No pun intended!) Martha gave the DJ allllll the wrong names for our reception announcement. She contradicted the info I'd just given her that week for some reason! Almost everyone in the bridal party was announced as another person's name or not at all! Such a mess!!! She incorrectly did or just didn't do sooo many other things too for our wedding. I didn't even want to LOOK at her day of!
I would absolutely reccommend spending your time and money elsewhere. Martha is the ONLY person that works there that deals with you for your wedding. What a shame for a nice venue to be ruined. -
