Classic, timeless and elegant photography
Lisa is an incredible wedding photographer and so easy to work with. Her photography style is intentional and elegant. She has an amazing eye to capture everything from emotion to movement. Every photo tells a story and feels so much more than a static image. Looking through our gallery of photos we are transported back to our wedding weekend and able to hear the laughs and feel the warmth in the room. We have so many favorites, it's genuinely difficult to narrow it down. One of the best and easiest choices we made in our wedding planning process was working with Lisa. She understood our vision & style and was able to capture it all beautifully. It was important to us to have photos that would stand the test of time and always remain classic. Highly recommend working with Lisa for your wedding photography! -

Book lisa today
Do yourself a solid and book Lisa RIGHT NOW. One look at her gallery and I knew I had to have her (romantic, non-scripted shots, capturing the moment and the people in the photos) and she delivered (even more then I expected). She's priced appropriately, extremely knowledgeable (she helped me find my florist), and on the day of the wedding was not intrusive while capturing all the moments that we wanted (and then some). I would hire Lisa for all of my milestone moments in life if I could. -

I don't have enough wonderful things to say about Lisa. From Day 1 she was so responsive, flexible, accommodating, and she took some of the most amazing photos. We ended up having a smaller wedding than planned because of covid-19 and she was so easy to work with and so understanding of our change in plans. The pictures she took of our beach ceremony and backyard cocktail party could not have been more beautiful - from portraits, to candids, to pictures of even the smallest details, it's clear how passionate Lisa is about her work. I can't wait for our wedding reception next year - I know her pictures will be fantastic. I would recommend her to anyone! -

Amazing job - nantucket wedding
Lisa was truly amazing for our September wedding in Nantucket. She had only shot on the island a few times but you would never know - she had great ideas and even remembered shots that I had wanted to get done that I had forgotten. She captured everything and made it her style (which I love) and never felt too intrusive or demanding. She was such a pleasure to work throughout the planning to after the wedding with ordering prints/album and I would highly recommend her to anyone! Her partner Lisa for the day was also great and fun to work with! -

Amazing eye for detail!!
Lisa is just incredible – a short paragraph would never even do her justice! My husband was a bit weary on doing an engagement shoot prior to our wedding, but with a little convincing I got him there. Once we left, he couldn’t have been more excited for the wedding day saying how easy Lisa was to work with and how enjoyable she made the session. Fast forward to our wedding day a few months later, the thought of gathering our 50+ extended family members for multiple family portraits was giving me heartburn – but Lisa captured each of these FLAWLESSLY. Her level of organization and eye for detail is just perfection – from the beginning of the morning on our wedding day to the late night dancing, she didn’t miss a shot. If you are on the hunt for a photographer, just stop now – Lisa is your girl! -

Lindsay Sent on 07/17/2012If you don't feel like reading the book I wrote below, you should know that:
1) Lisa is the is one of the best, if not THE best photographer you will find to hire. She's not just a great wedding photographer- she's an exceptionally skilled documentarian of people and of life.
2) My husband and I LOVE the photos! LOVE. Almost as much as each other.
3) Of all the costs that went into our wedding, Lisa was the only person we hired whom we ended up being completely happy with in every way. She was great to work with over the phone and on the wedding day, and the photos are absolutely breathtaking.
Lisa Rigby... how do I love thee? Seriously, how exactly does one write a review for a person who is so utterly talented, friendly, responsible, and a total artistic and photgraphic genius? Five stars certainly cannot convey the fact that not only is Lisa Rigby a great photographer, but that this amazing lady was just born with an artist's eye for perfect composition. Actually, the word 'composition' doesn't really sum it up completely... yes, she's got a great eye for visual composition, but add to this that she manages to snap the picture at the peak of a perfect visual and emotional moment - Good God, she's just amazing. I knew of her blog before my then fiance had even proposed- I still can't believe how lucky we were to be able to hire her- she was the first 'wedding choice' we made, actually.
I booked three things at once, because I simply could not have a wedding day without all of them together: The chapel, the reception venue, and Lisa. If Lisa hadn't been available on the day we chose, we'd have changed the other two things to fit her schedule. That is how talented she is. Aside from our wonderful officiant, she was the only person we hired for our wedding day who did her job 100% perfectly. She was on time, she kept us on schedule, she was easy to work with, she has a great sense of humor and put up with a few of our 'sillier' guests with laughter and a smile, she was always at the right place at the right time, and SHE TOOK MAGICAL, AMAZING, FABULOUS WEDDING DAY PICTURES.
Looking through them, these are not merely your typical 'nice wedding pictures.' Oh no, no they certainly are not. These pictures are a very beautifully truthful, graceful and mostly candid documentation of the events of the entire day- of the day as seen from this bride's point of view, as seen from my new husband's point of view, and as seen through the eyes of our guests. She captured hugs with elderly loved ones - hugs which I might not have remembered giving because I was so tired and hugged so many people that day. She captured the hilariously dissatisfied look on my new brother in law's face as he sat through a boring conversation with his cousin. She captured my parents- how they really look, not just their 'say cheese' smiles. She captured the equally delicate yet wild way fingertips react to ridiculous dance music. She somehow even managed to make this bride's puffy, emotional, tear-streaked, exhausted face look relaxed and beautiful that day.
She also knows what not to take pictures of, which is an entirely different and much desired skill that every photographer should have. For instance, there are none of me blowing my nose, or or people putting food into their mouths. There are no pictures where the giant bruise on the back of my pale arm looks noticeable (Not thinking, I shut a car door the wrong way two days before the wedding... ugh). Our reception venue never took the ugly plastic sides off the tent, which we asked them to do for us... Lisa managed to make those look less noticeable too, which was pretty awesome.
I know that if my new husband and I are lucky enough to look at these pictures fifty years from now, that we'll both feel as though we were up on that altar holding each other's nervous hands, hugging our parents and grandparents, dancing with friends and family so vividly, as if it all took place just yesterday. Lisa has given us pictures so good that they are in effect a time machine!! Because these pictures exist, my husband and I, our family, our friends, will all now permanently be dancing and galavanting and drinking and eating and laughing in a parallel wedding day universe, and I love that.
Across the (wedding) board, Lisa's photography was hands down THE BEST money that was spent on our wedding day. If I could go back in time, I'd duplicate her three times and hire her for longer. She is an incredible, natural talent and has a great spirit. Happy tears start forming every time I look at these photos! I recommend hiring her before she gets too famous and thus too booked.

Heather Sent on 12/07/2010Lisa provided us with such amazing photos from our wedding. We knew when we first saw her portfolio that she was exactly what we wanted though so while we were pleasantly surprised by our photos we didn't expect any less! When we were booking, I even thought that if it were to rain on our wedding day, she'd be able to produce great creative pictures. It didn't rain but I still believe that! Its one thing to be a great photographer and another to be creative and I think that Lisa is definitely both! Shes great at capturing candid shots and they're so much fun to see when you get them back. :)
I would recommend Lisa (if shes still available!) to anyone looking for beautiful, timeless, creative and non-cheesy wedding photos. -

Sarah Sent on 11/26/2010There are no other words to describe Lisa Rigby other then THE BEST. I first saw her work when she photographed my cousin's wedding, who highly recommended her to me for mine. We did an engagement session with her 14 months before the wedding, and the wedding itself. Her work is unparalleled, just gorgeous. I don't have a very high opinion of my looks and even I felt like I looked gorgeous in my pictures. I cried when I viewed the slideshow she posted for us after the wedding. She was everywhere, capturing everything, without ever seeming in the way. She was friendly and fun to talk to, and an absolute joy to work with. Just an amazing photographer, and I'm SO glad we hired her! -

Kati Sent on 10/25/2009Lisa's online portfolio and blog speak for themselves. Her photojournalistic approach was exactly what I was looking for...and then some.
She is very skilled in being approachable, but unobtrusive, which I find priceless.
This is Lisa's first full-time wedding season. I can't imagine how much her work will grow in the years to come. -

Kat Sent on 03/08/2010I initially found Lisa on craigslist but after long deliberations, meeting several other photographers and contacting the photographers on the preferred vendor list I am happy to have booked her for my wedding. She specializes in photojournalistic photography and captures the "moment" in her own artistic way.
The Bottom-line:
Price - Last summer, 2009, was Lisa's 1st full wedding season. She was relatively new when I found her; however, there was no denying the artistic quality of her photography when looking at her blog and website. With any wedding vendor it almost always comes down to price and quality. Lisa was well aware of this and all throughout the booking process she worked with me to develop a package that suited my needs and priced it pretty fairly i.e. with a discount. Even though demand for Lisa has seemingly sky rocketed and her prices now are slightly more than what I paid, she is worth every penny.
Professionalism - Lisa always kept a professional demeanor with me from our initial meeting, to our "week of" meeting, the day of the wedding and all e-mail correspondence. Both my family and myself are very demanding but Lisa obliged every request we had for her on our wedding day. She obliged family members who asked her to take posed group shots. When I noticed that some of the pictures I wanted weren't in the final review she offered to do free retakes.
Album - I ordered a Kiss Leather Wedding Book from her and two matching Kiss parent books http://www.kissweddingbooks.com/. She was always on top of dates and was mindful that I wanted to get these to our parents in time for the holidays. She helped with layout and offered some really great suggestions. I could not be happier with the story of our wedding that plays it in these books.
Overall, I am truly happy to have found such a wonderful, artistic and easy to work with wedding photographer. Lisa never harassed me after our initial meeting to become her client and was always mindful of how stressful it can be planning a wedding. Before, during and after the wedding, she always answered phone calls and e-mails in a timely manner.
The only thing I would have liked a couple shots of were some posed formal shots with our family which we didn't get too many of, Lisa's style of photography doesn't really cater to these type of shots but I'm sure she would have been more than happy to have taken them if I had mentioned it to her (our wedding day was hectic and I had a large wedding party). Also, we got married on the harbor and I would've liked some additional harbor shots.
BTW - Lisa was one of the few vendors who got the most compliments from my guests for her work.

What I liked about Lisa:
- Gives tremendous attention to wedding details / decor
- Has a creative eye for artistic angles and photo composition
- Shows up early for every appointment
- Responds to emails quickly
- Offered good pricing while starting out in wedding photography
- Always carries a backup camera
- Provides large print and compressed web version of photos on a beautifully labeled disk
- Was able to disguise the look of the horrible backup rain room we were forced to use by focusing on our hands, bridesmaids, etc.
- Stepped in appropriately to take a bridal portrait of me in my 2nd wedding dress. Turned out to be a favorite.
I was disappointed by:
- Did not check in with me before leaving for the night (she left just before guests started dancing -- would have hired for the extra hour)
- Did not photograph our first dance with any guests in the background. Looks like we were in a room by ourselves with no guests at our wedding. Maybe it was her intention to look like we were in our own world?? I was concerned about our small wedding size (65 people) so it would have been nice to make the room look occupied.
- No creative shots of just fiance and I around the venue premises
- Could provide more guidance on flattering poses and whether clothing looks out of place. Not a photographer who will fluff your dress or let you know if a shirt and posture makes you look larger than normal.
Despite the disappointments, I am overall pleased with the photos I received and would recommend Lisa. She takes great pride in her work. She is still new to wedding photography but is definitely on the move up to great things.
