Joy Lyn documented my wedding and did a FABULOUS job. She was very prompt and organized in her correspondence with me in the months leading up to the event. On the day of, she was professional, outgoing and fun. She took beautiful pictures and had such a great attitude the whole day. I received compliments from all my family members on my choice of photographer and everyone loved her pictures. I cannot recommend Joy enough!

We had a fantastic wedding day that Joy captured beautifully! She is fun, easy going, and knows what she is doing--just trust her.

More often than not, when I look at photographs of myself I cringe. And so, when confronted with photography aspect of my wedding, I was terrified. Meeting Joy dispelled all of my fears. When you meet Joy, it’s hard not to notice how sweet and down to earth she is – after ten minutes of talking, it’s as if you’re old friends. She patiently listened as I listed my ideal wedding photographs – minimal poses, LOTS of candid shots, and an emphasis on capturing the moment. I wanted to look like myself. Joy’s packages include an engagement session. Joy encouraged me to use the session to get to know her better, to feel more comfortable in front of the camera, and to see if the output was what I wanted to see at the wedding. Clearly – she’s a genius. We had a great time at the engagement session – Joy recommended the perfect location downtown Chicago and braved near freezing temperatures to capture a playful afternoon. I loved the results and was relieved. When I looked at the pictures, I not only saw how much I loved my fiancé, but I saw us – the real us laughing and being silly. It was perfect.

As the wedding approached, Joy was always professional, going beyond her role as a photographer to make suggestions regarding the day’s schedule and other items. She kept us on track and always informed. The big day arrived mid February and despite having endured blizzard only weeks before, the snow had melted and the sun was shining. Joy arrived on time, crew in tote, and spent the day capturing every moment – every glance, kiss, hug, laugh and ridiculous party move. I was relieved to have her there, knowing that I could completely trust her. Everyone was impressed by her even before we saw the pictures.

During our honeymoon – less than a week later – Joy presented us with a sneak peak of our wedding photographs on her blog. I was speechless. Joy exceeded every expectation I had. My guests were equally impressed – many of them shared the photographs with people who did not attend the wedding saying that Joy’s photos belonged in magazine. And so, I cannot recommend the lovely Joy more strongly. She was truly a pleasure to work with and her work product is remarkable. Because of Joy, I have hundreds of beautiful photographs that I will allow me to always look back on the best day of my life.

When I started looking for a photographer I wasn't completely sure of what I wanted, but I definitely knew what I didn't want. I didn't want cheesy poses. I didn't want stiff traditional pictures. I didn't want to break the bank. Joy Lyn was the first photographer I met, and every photographer after her was never able to match what I could get from her. Her porfolio was amazing! Her prices were reasonable!
The day before the wedding we ran into Joy Lyn at the church -- we were there for the rehearsal and she was there to get the layout of the church. I was very impressed that she did this. On the day of the wedding Joy Lyn was incredibly flexible -- I have a large crazy family who never follows directions. She was able to get all the shots we needed and a ton of great candid shots. Looking at the pictures months later, I am so happy with how natural we all look. We look like US!!! She captured the energy of that day in a way that I never thought possible. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants fabulous wedding pictures.

She was definitely prepared and moved us along quickly. She did a great job capturing all the little details.

We chose an engagement shoot over a bridal session. It was a lot of fun and a good way for us to get comfortable with Joy before the wedding day.

BOOK HER FIRST THING!!!! I had planned on Joy shooting my wedding since I first saw her photos several years ago. Sadly she was already booked the day we had chosen for our wedding. I couldn't bear the thought of not having Joy capture this new chapter in my life though. So we decided to have an engagement shoot in Washington DC with her. She was so accommodating. She squeezed us in between several other shoots that she was in town for. The pictures turned out fabulous! She captured a special time in our life and I will treasure the photos forever.

I knew of Joy's photography before I got engaged and had determined that I wanted to hire her for my wedding day when that was set. Joy was fabulous, she captured our wedding perfectly! Even though I had a stress out moment (not picture related) just as pictures started she was calm and kept on with photography. She was always professional and definitely flexible, my wedding was in Florida and Joy is based out or Raleigh, I am so glad it worked for her to capture my wedding, I couldn't be happier!

From the engagement photo session to the day after photo shoot, her artistic talents were able to capture my visions of a perfect wedding. I would have not picked anyone eles. I went to the bridal fair and Joy was one of the 1st booth I stoped at, I kept thinking about her work the whole time I was there. She was exactly what I was looking for! I knew after just a few weeks I had to have her! The quality of her work is unreal. I can't tell you how many people thought my picture's should be in a magazine! I was 100% happy with everything she did!

I've known Joy Phillips for several years now, and have had her take photos for me on several occasions. She took our engagement pictures and I just love them. Joy is a rock star photographer. She captures THE most amazing, creative, breathtaking, once in a life time shots. She's professional, fun and uber creative. We've had sibling photo shoots for the past 3 years with her and it's always a blast! Our parents cry every time they see the pictures and slideshows. I highly recommend her!
