Wow!!! I really found myself speechless after reviewing the edited photos from Darryl Anne & Joe at Salt and Pine. They did an incredible job photographing our wedding celebration from beginning to end, including capturing a gorgeous sunset, cute pics of our son, and epic dance party. Having two photographers meant not a moment was missed. Communication from the beginning was excellent and the final photos were received well within the timeline they laid out. Highly recommend!! They are the real deal!! -

Beautiful pictures!
Salt and Pine photography will always be our number one choice for pictures!! They were so easy to work with and made sure to work with everyone at the wedding who wanted pictures! They even worked well with our kids and our pictures turned out beautiful! We will be going back to them in the future for a family photo session! -

Darryl Ann and Joe are incredibly talented photographers! The photos from our engagement shoot and commitment ceremony are some of the best photos we’ve ever seen!
Darryl Ann and Joe are easy to work with and made us feel comfortable. They helped us pose in a way that felt natural and as a result, our photos are very romantic. They are professional and personable photographers and understand and respect that your priority on your wedding day isn’t about the photographs, it is (and should be) about enjoying the presence of your spouse, family, and friends. They scheduled a few consultations with us where they answered our many questions and offered excellent ideas. We talked through the timeline and they suggested scheduling time to take photos of us as a couple and family photos before the ceremony began, so that we could be present with our guests for the duration of the evening. While this didn’t necessarily go to plan due to the rain, they did their best to ensure that we had amazing pictures together AND that we were present to celebrate with our guests.
They were prepared with their equipment and continued working in the pouring rain, offering reassurance and ideas for creative and unique photos. Once the ceremony started, they were in the background capturing the candid moments, conversations during the cocktail hour and dinner, and all the important aspects of the day.
They were flexible with us when we needed to postpone our ceremony due to the pandemic and they held our date while we coordinated with all of our other vendors to ensure that each of them was available on the new date.
We feel very fortunate to have such gorgeous wedding photos, and we will cherish them for the rest of our lives. We are so grateful that we had Salt & Pine as our photographers and we highly, highly recommend hiring them! -

Bottom Line Up Front: Salt & Pine should absolutely take your wedding photos!
We worked with Darryl Ann and Joe for our elopement in the North Cascades in September 2021. It’s overwhelming to figure out what you are supposed to do to get married in the mountains, and they were so incredibly helpful beforehand, walking us through what we should expect day of, timeline, contingency plans for inclement weather, etc. On the day of our elopement, they made our celebration absolutely perfect. And their communication style with each other was incredible to witness. They are like a fine oiled machine: efficient, clear, kind and respectful to each other and also to us and our witnesses (our brothers). We never stood around wondering what to do next, as they helped us keep a flow that allowed for celebration time with each other and our brothers (and our beloved best dog), but also plenty of time to take incredible photos that truly captured the beauty of our location. They were so fast with sending us sneak peak photos, and also with providing the final album. The photos took our breath away. We are so grateful that we worked with Darryl Ann and Joe, and can’t recommend Salt & Pine enough. -

We LOVE Salt & Pine
We are so thankful that we chose Salt & Pine for our engagement and wedding photos. We had such a great experience with Darryl Ann & Joe, who are just wonderful people. They were so extremely helpful during the whole wedding planning process. We were unfortunate with our original venue that closed down and caused us to search for another place to hold our wedding. Darryl Ann & Joe provided us with a long list of potential venues that were pet-friendly and we ended up picking one of those recommendations. Unfortunately again, we had to completely change our wedding plans, this time due to the pandemic. We decided to elope and relied heavily on their recommendations on adventure location and timeline. Salt & Pine were very flexible and accommodating throughout, even up to the day of, when there were reports of bad weather. Besides being such lovely and amazing people, they take the most incredible photos. We could not be happier with each photo taken and the memories they capture. -

Darryl Ann and Joe did an absolutely wonderful job capturing our elopement. They even (very willingly) battled rain and very high tide for us, and yes most of us got hit with a huge wave at some point! They were so much fun to have be a part of our very important day. All of the pictures we got back are so much more than we could have ever hoped for. We got such a big variety and they were all edited beautifully. They captured all of our feelings throughout the day amazingly, I can’t look at the pictures without tearing up! I would one hundred percent recommend Salt and Pine! -

AMAZING photographers
At our very first meeting with Darryl Ann and Joe, we knew they were exactly what we were searching for. They showed us their portfolio and talked with us and we were hooked!
The best thing about working with these two is that they check in throughout the planning process, giving you tips and making sure we didn’t have any unanswered questions. They are so personable and professional at the same time.
Words can out express how much they helped on our wedding day. They seamlessly dealt with our crazy family members and made us feel so comfortable. My husband and I hate having our pictures taken, but with them it didn’t feel awkward. They were so stealthy the entire day that I didn’t notice where they were at! They got so many amazing pictures throughout the day and I literally don’t remember seeing them in the spot where the picture was taken! That’s how stealthy they are!
They were so wonderful at capturing intimate moments with us and our families. And they we’re so quick with getting our pictures to us! I already have a bunch framed and hanging on our walls. I couldn’t find a single picture that I didn’t absolutely love. To sum it up, Salt and Pine is the best, if you want to have amazing wedding pictures, hire them ASAP! They’re worth every penny! -

Darryl Ann & Joe are such great photographers to work with. We did an engagement shoot with them first and the pictures turned out wonderful. We got to know them even better during our wedding and again, had a great time. Aside from their incredible photography skills, they’re light hearted, fun loving and just an all around pleasure to spend time with. My husband hates photos and by the wedding, he was feeling more comfortable with it. Another perk with Salt & Pine is getting two photographers. That way, not a single moment is missed. After the wedding they sent us an adorable photo box with a few of our wedding photos printed and a usb drive, it was an exceptional touch. They really went above and beyond. We are currently working on finishing our photo album with them and after looking over the rough draft, it will be remarkable. It has been such a pleasure getting to know them and we look forward to sharing more important moments with them. -

Choosing Salt and Pine Photo to take our wedding pictures was by far the best decision we made for our wedding (I mean I love my new husband and all, but I still stand by my comment). Darryl Ann & Joe truly make you feel like your natural selves, but somehow make you look 100000x better than you do in real life! Really, our family thought the photos were taken using some magic, everyone looked so incredible. Working with them felt like working with our close friends and we had a ton of fun in the process! They are such warm and accommodating people who also help direct you in the nicest way so that you look your best! They really take the time to get to know you and your style, if you have any special preferences, a certain style or shot you like, certain guests to focus on, special places you want to take photos at, etc. We highly recommend doing an Adventure shoot as well if you can because those pictures were truly SPECTACULAR. The beautiful way that Darryl Ann & Joe captured us with the nature around us was really fantastic and we still receive non-stop compliments on those (well, really all of our) pictures! They also have an incredible way of capturing true candid, natural emotion which is probably my favorite element of all of the pictures. I cannot put into words how much I love these photographers and their work, you just need to look at their gallery to feel what I am talking about! You will absolutely not regret hiring them! Just make sure to do it early so they are available :) -

This review is loooong overdue. To be honest, I think I may have been putting it off because I was not entirely sure I'd be able to do Salt and Pine justice. We were so lucky to find Darryl Ann and Joe. They did our engagement shoot, my boudoir shoot, and our wedding. Every step of the process was professional, comfortable, creative, and fun.
The second we met them for our first virtual meet-and-greet, we knew we made the right choice. They were so helpful and informative and they answered my 10,000 questions. When we met them for our engagement shoot, they instantly made us feel comfortable and were able to capture me and my husband perfectly. And then, of course, our wedding. I was honestly relieved when I saw them the morning of our wedding because I knew they had everything handled. They took every single one of our asks and delivered... and then gave us even more. I find myself looking through our wedding photos often and every time, I find a new, beautiful moment that Darryl Ann or Joe captured that I hadn't noticed, but they did. These moments are so special to us.
And lastly, I'd be remiss if I did not talk about the boudoir shoot. Darryl Ann was so professional and made me feel so comfortable. I walked away from that session feeling so good about myself and the photos were absolutely beautiful!
I can't say enough good things about Salt and Pine. They are true artists with an eye for capturing the best moments of your day. We are so thankful for Darryl Ann and Joe and would recommend them over and over and over again. -

They took the time to video chat with my fiancé and me (on a weekend!), answer our long list of questions, and talk through what kinds of photos we were looking for. We really wanted an adventure shoot, and they were very patient in explaining the options, showing us examples from their portfolio, discussing locations, etc.
Unfortunately, they were already booked on the only day our venue was available, but this is actually why I’m writing this review. (As an aside - we were looking at a date over a year in advance, which speaks to how popular they are.)
Though we weren’t able to book them, they were still SO gracious and sent us recommendations for other photographers. They even took it a step further and verified that the photographers were available on our date. We were so impressed and grateful that they were able to help us out – they really proved themselves to be amazing people. Main takeaway of this experience? Salt & Pine are great to work with and you should book when ASAP! It’s no wonder they were already booked so far in advance! -

Best photographers!
Salt & Pine is AMAZING! They are the sweetest couple and so great to work with. After a bad experience with another photographer we hired them for our wedding. They could not have been more fantastic. They are so helpful with making the process fun and less awkward, because lets be honest, no one wants to pose romantically for hours. They captured all the perfect moments and really made the photos come alive. I can't stop raving about them to all my friends and family and I am so excited to use them in the future for all my photography needs! They take the time to get to know their clients and it really shows in their work. Thank you for capturing my perfect wedding day! -

If you are looking for a photographer, look no further. Darryl Ann and Jo take care of all the logistics from start to finish. They are what I’d call the “dream team.” I’m a “type A” person and like to do all my research, and before deciding on a photographer for our wedding I did just that, creating a spreadsheet to compare many different photographers in the area. So if you’re like me, just read and scrap the spreadsheets! :)
These two impressed us from the start and we immediately felt we could trust Darryl Ann and Jo with capturing this most important day. I love that even the small details don’t elude them. They listened to our priorities and customized our experience to fit. When we went on our engagement “adventure session” last winter, they knew the best locations for a great shot and even offered a map of their favorite places around Washington. Again, the “type A” in me found this very helpful! They even notified us of inclement weather and were flexible enough to adjust the schedule when snow prevented our initial session. They made us feel so comfortable and by our wedding day, it was like we had good friends present who blended right in and celebrated alongside us. They think about what’s important for couples on their wedding day and put a lot of heart and time into what they do. Nothing ever goes exactly to schedule on your wedding day, and they are very intentional about making sure the stress doesn’t reach the bride and groom. They helped create a sense of calm even when I know they had a lot to accomplish with less time than expected pre-wedding due to hair & makeup. They also made sure to coordinate with our vendors and understand “day of” essentials. They are involved every step of the way, whether it be check-ins, questionnaires, video calls or email communication. Our photos reflected the thought and expertise of these two, and we’re so happy we decided to go with Salt & Pine. Speaking of the photos, they’re incredible! They have a way at finding the light and each precious moment. Also, you receive an album after your wedding which is something few photographers offer – it’s like the cherry on top. If you’re looking for photographers who know their craft, are professional and can create a relationship that strengthens the whole experience, book these two right away before someone else does! You won’t regret it. -

We loved working with Darryl Ann and Joe! We hired them to take our engagement photos, an adventure session and our wedding photos, which they travelled all the way to Alaska for. They were very easy to work with, responsible, responsive and made the sessions feel natural and fun. We absolutely love how our photos turned out and would definitely recommend them!!
