  The Professional Experience I knew We needed

  They were prompt, professional and helped us make sure our days was wonderful. My husband and I were able to enjoy our day. My family and friends were also able to enjoy all the festivities because the H&W team had us covered. I highly recommend the for you wedding or special event.

  Unmatched service

  The Howerton-Wooten experience was truly special. I expected a planner to manage logistics of my wedding. What I got instead was such caring service from Kawania, LaShonda, and Marlo every step of the way. I only had a vague vision of what I wanted for my wedding and they were able to take a small concept and run with it to build the wedding of dreams I didn’t even know I had. I felt way out for my depth when I first started planning and so I got the full service and I will say it was worth every cent. The team is experienced, thoughtful, and so collaborative that I was the least stressed bride I know. They work with the best of the best vendors in the industry and I was able to be at peace and present during most of the planning and especially the day of the wedding. My husband and I will never forget being taken such good care of and we can’t wait to hire them again for all our life events!

  STOP LOOKING! You’ve found the BEST with Howerton+Wooten!

  I’m not sure who is the bigger genius: the professionals at Howerton+Wooten, or ME for hiring them!! When my now-husband and I had our first call with Kawania, we knew immediately that we had found our team captain. Kawania radiates warmth, expertise, knowledge, and understanding and those values are reflected throughout the H+W Events organization. Kawania created a bespoke package and experience that reflected our needs and our budget. She was a supportive and grounding force as she helped us design our wedding before another member of her team - LaShonda - took over to put everything into action. LaShonda was such a joy to work with. She made me feel heard, understood, and supported - even when my parents were trying to push for their own choices! - and made sure my husband and I were happy with each and every decision. I had an easy time trusting her and her ideas. Our wedding day was flawless thanks to LaShonda’s diligence, creativity, and leadership. Everything from the ceremony rehearsal to our last dance and send off was perfectly executed and easy. Our entire wedding party raved about LaShonda and her incredibly helpful schedule — a HUGE bonus for this Type A/control freak bride. I knew LaShonda had everything covered - even things I never thought of - so I was able to fully relax in the days leading up to the wedding and on wedding day. The only thing I had to worry about was getting dressed!! My only complaint is that our business together has concluded — I will miss Kawania, LaShonda, and the entire H+W Events Team! I guess we’ll have to plan an anniversary party!! TLDR; Do not hesitate to hire this team. It will be the best and smartest decision you make.

  Kawania and her team at Howerton + Wooten made my vision come to life for my wedding April 2022. The planning was thoughtful and very well executed. With her extraordinary creativity, Kawania absolutely elevated my ceremony. I can honestly say, without her expertise, my ceremony and reception would have not been as whimsical and romantic. She thought of all of the little things to take me and my husband’s experience to an entirely different level - she exceeded our expectations!!   Seamless, enjoyable and beautifully executed!

  Kawania and her phenomenal team took such amazing care of my Husband and I throughout our entire wedding planning process and beyond. Aside from being incredibly detailed, Kawania especially, quite literally kept us (primarily me - the bride lol) sane during what was a VERY stressful time due to ever-changing covid restrictions. Everyone on Kawania’s team, including herself, always encouraged optimism, handled planning obstacles with complete ease, and executed the most BEAUTIFUL wedding for us.
  
  Speaking of beautiful…our wedding was truly STUNNING. Of the many things I love about Kay (as I affectionately call her), one attribute that really stands out is her ability to be immensely creative with out of the box thinking. Aside from the “standard” details most wedding have, Kay completely blew us away with the small touches (and some larger - like our photo wall escort card wall; personal favorite!). All of these factors really made our special day not only vibrant but also very unique and very much US!

While I was referred to other wedding planners I knew the moment I met Kawania her company would be the perfect fit. From day one they were attentive, supportive and professional. They were open to my non traditional ideas and went above and beyond to bring my vision to life. Her team had a way of making you feel at peace during what is typically a very stressful day for many brides.   Wedding Planning

  Words cannot express how pleased we are about the services we received. We normally do not leave reviews. However, Howerton+Wooten Events was exceptional in every way. Kay was able to understand our vision. Using her expertise, she was able to elevate it and transform it into everything we wanted and more! To say she was a pleasure to work with is an understatement. She is kind and has a warmness about her that makes it very easy to speak with her. As a very busy couple, we trusted her design ideas and felt comfortable allowing her to make decisions for us when needed. We respected her opinion and there was nothing that we second guessed when presented to us. She truly understood us as a couple. Often when couples embark on the journey of wedding planning, they will get bombarded with opinions and suggestions. The first one is if a wedding planner is needed. Again, as a busy couple, we could not have done this without her. Even if we had the time, I guarantee it would not have come out as elegant. In addition, her relationships with vendors made things easier and more economical. However, more important is Kay's ability to manage crisis. Sometimes things may not go as you planned for many reasons. I had a life changing event less than 2 months before our wedding. Kay was there with me the entire time and even after our wedding was complete. The day of the wedding, we had another mini-crisis and Kay stepped in and took care of things. These are characteristics that you want in a wedding planner. Lastly, after looking at other planners, I found Kay's pricing to be reasonable compared to others. She was worth every penny and more! I enthusiastically recommend her services to any bride. I will continue to use her for any future events that I plan.

  We hired Howerton + Wooten Events for "month of coordination" of our August 2016 wedding in DC. I know Kawania from my job, where she coordinates one of our annual conferences with over 1,000 participants. Seeing her handle the conference year in and year out with such finesse, I just knew she would be able to create order in the chaos that is wedding planning. Kawania and her team kept my husband and I on track with planning and got us through the process. I was on travel for work most of the summer but Kawania was never more than an email or phone call away. The planning software she uses will send daily reminders of tasks that need to be completed--great for Type A people like myself who need checklists.
  
  Our wedding day went off without a hitch and was most importantly, on schedule. If there were any issues that day, we did not know about them.

  What We Loved
  We decided to go with Kay because during our initial consultation we found her to be warm and very open and honest. We interviewed several wedding planners, and Kay really made us feel special and that we were not just another number. Kay really went above and beyond during the planning process. We expected her to lean in heavily during the last month, but it really felt like we’d hired a full-time wedding planner. She regularly would email us interesting ideas of design ideas that she would come across. Moreover, she did a lot of extras that were not in her contract, like personally drive to the post office and hand cancelled our wedding invitations. We are also very organized, so we loved that Kay laid out a detailed timeline, helped us refine our budget, and used basecamp to coordinate all the wedding activities and communication.
  
  What Could Be Improved
  There were a couple of areas that we thought Kay could improve on in the future to be an even better wedding planner. First, we thought that Kay could do a better job of prioritizing the things that we told her were important. For us, that was the seating arrangement and a tent in case we had bad weather. Although Kay was great at sending us outside the box ideas throughout the planning process, we felt that she didn’t put enough focus on the things that we really cared about and in the end, we had to step in and manage those elements ourselves. We also thought that Kay could have done a better job of actively seeking feedback from us, especially since we worked so long together. We shared our feedback with her a few months before our wedding, and she was very open and receptive to it. We also saw her incorporate many of these things into her working style before our wedding day.
  
  All in all, we had a very positive experience working with Kay and Kay Wooten Events, and would recommend her to plan a wedding or any large-scale event.

  Howerton + Wooten made what could've been a stressful experience an enjoyable and fun journey. We hired the full planning services and, beginning on day 1, Kay and team were professional and on top of it. We were planning an out of town wedding and the thick of the planning process took place during an extremely busy period at work. Kay, Hana and team took charge and kept us looped in during the entire process. I appreciated the creative suggestions and WebEx presentations to provide me a visual of our selected styles and settings. They have solid vendor relationships and worked to adhere to our budget.   Howerton + Wooten made what could've been a stressful experience an enjoyable and fun journey. We hired the full planning services and, beginning on day 1, Kay and team were professional and on top of it. We were planning an out of town wedding and the thick of the planning process took place during an extremely busy period at work. Kay, Hana and team took charge and kept us looped in during the entire process. I appreciated the creative suggestions and WebEx presentations to provide me a visual of our selected styles and settings. They have solid vendor relationships and worked to adhere to our budget. Kay sprung into action and assisted with locating linen that surpassed my expectations in a matter of days. The linen was gorgeous! She is truly a stress reliever and one resourceful individual. It was absolutely spectacular and actually the wedding of our dreams. To this day we are still receiving phone calls, texts, and emails from our family stating that it was the best wedding that they have ever attended and we owe it all to Kay. Although I am clearly bias, I would have to agree with them. In addition, to my wedding, Kay also planned my bridal shower, which again was sheer perfection! She is simply amazing.

  Kawania did an excellent job at our wedding! We hired her as our month of coordinator. Kawania and her team went above and beyond to make our event a very special one. She kept in touch with us throughout the process and let us know if she was going to be away or unavailable. They have many resources we were able to use as well. For instance, if you didn't like one of the makeup artists, she has many more for you to call and try. She was also able to help us stay within our budget when selecting the additional vendors we needed. Kawania also has many wonderful and unique ideas. She helped us decorate our sweetheart table, which we thought of having last minute. On the day of, her and her team made sure that we got some of our hors d'oeuvre to eat and kept everything running smoothly. Even with last minute changes, they were able to help accommodate them and make things happen. At the end of the night, she helped make sure that all the things we wanted were collected and got back to us. She definitely made our day one to remember!

  Kawania did an excellent job at our wedding! We hired her as our month of coordinator. Kawania and her team went above and beyond to make our event a very special one. She kept in touch with us throughout the process and let us know if she was going to be away or unavailable. They have many resources we were able to use as well. For instance, if you didn't like one of the makeup artists, she has many more for you to call and try. She was also able to help us stay within our budget when selecting the additional vendors we needed. Kawania also has many wonderful and unique ideas. She helped us decorate our sweetheart table, which we thought of having last minute.   We couldn't have asked for anything more perfect. They were very attentive to all our needs. The ceremony and reception was set up exactly how we had envisioned on paper and in our minds. They really made us feel relaxed and made us feel they had everything under control. We would not change anything if we had the chance. We were extremely happy with everything they offered. We would definitely recommend them to any bride.
