Genevieve was fantastic to work with. She was super good at putting us (two people who really hate photos) at ease, and got some amazing shots. Great to work with, love the photos. We really love the candid shots she got of guests dancing .

Our Favorite Vendor

Genevieve was an absolute all star for our wedding and our favorite vendor we chose. From the get go on our wedding day she helped to make sure the dress was put on properly and she scoped out all the best places for our pictures to make sure the lighting and scenery were just right. She was a joy to work with and when we got the pictures back we and all of our family and friends were awed at how well they turned out. Especially the night sky pictures!! We could not recommend her highly enough. If you’re planning a wedding she is the person to book.

THE best choice for a wedding photographer you will find!

For us, finding a truly talented wedding photographer was high on our priority list. Portrait photography is one of my husband's creative outlets, so I decided to let him take the lead in selecting a photographer for our big day. He. Was. PICKY. We combed through many dozens of photographers before we discovered Genevieve, but the search was absolutely worth it! She is a true artist and has such a wonderful eye for composition and lighting. She can quickly look at any space and see the angles, highlights, shadows, and natural framing elements of the environment that will make every shot look stunning. It’s so important to get the shot right straight out of camera and not just rely on shallow depth of field and tons of post-processing. Genieve has the vision and talent, a photographer’s photographer. We are thrilled with our engagement pictures and our beautiful wedding day pictures. Genevieve is so much fun, which is truly important since you’ll be spending a lot of time with your photographer. She not only captured all the key moments, but also a wide variety of details from many unique perspectives. Also, Genevieve was extremely helpful during the planning process. She was prompt in responding to emails and always willing to answer my questions and provide guidance. We cannot say enough great things about Genevieve. Amazing Photography

I absolutely LOVE our wedding photos. I did a lot of research on photography because in my opinion, all the details and the planning and the expense is largely lost if you can’t look back and remember it. To that end it was really important to me to have a photographer that captured the right mood, the authenticity, the imagery, and of course the portraits. I wanted both fine art and documentary style, which is kind of a tall order I think - and Genevieve more than delivered. The quality of the photos is beyond all of my expectations, and I also really appreciated that Genevieve is such an experienced professional she had a lot of suggestions that helped us enjoy our day more. This was also invaluable on the day - it’s amazing how quick the day goes and when it was really important to stay on the timeline, Genevieve kept us on schedule. She also worked seamlessly with my videographer. And, at the end of what I know was a grueling day, Genevieve and her team kept on to make sure she captured our send off. I’ve also known friends who either didn’t receive their wedding photos on time or didn’t receive them at all; Genevieve delivered them very fast - while we were still on our honeymoon one week later! I 100% recommend Genevieve Leiper Photography for your wedding or special event!

Amazing Photography Experience

Genevieve and her assistant Slavi were absolutely awesome. Total professionals and a lot of fun to work with. I (the groom) was expecting to have a great time taking photos, but I totally did. The sneak peak photos we've seen so far were gorgeous and totally captured the look we were going for. And it was relaxing to work with them! We can't wait to see the rest. I would hire Genevieve again in a heartbeat.

Amazing Work, Awesome Human!

I cannot say enough good things about Genevieve. Every aspect of working with her for our June 2023 wedding was wonderful. She is professional, prompt with communication, flexible, and immensely talented. We did an engagement shoot with her also, mostly to get comfortable with being photographed, and it was a great choice. By the time of our wedding, we felt like Genevieve was an old friend. She works fast and efficiently and captured all of the shots we wanted for our day. Her second shooter for the day off was also charming and fun to work with. Even our guests commented how impressed they were with how present the photographers were.

The best part - my husband cried again when we got our photos back and looked through them to relive our special day. We cannot recommend Genevieve enough!

Beautiful photos and a highly experienced, laid back day-runner!

My venue recommended Gen, and we are so glad we chose to work with her. From our first call, Gen makes you feel very comfortable and relaxed (which is especially important when you are as awkward around a camera as I am!). She does an incredible job of keeping the trains running on time day of , and corralling bridal party and family members. Her team is equally as wonderful. Her shots are quick, efficient, and absolutely beautiful. She even captured everyone's personalities on the dance floor. Lastly, she took great care to include all of our specific shots, including a photo I recreated of my grandma.

10/10 recommend Gen and her team. Her photos will help us remember our special day forever!

Absolutely Amazing Photographer

Genevieve is such a talented photographer!! We hired her for our small COVID wedding and our large celebration, and the pictures from both were truly amazing. I really can't thank her enough for all the gorgeous photos we have from both our celebrations.
Genevieve was also so great to work with. She was really flexible when we had to switch our plans because of COVID. She was on time for everything and extremely organized during both events. We have a really large family, and she did such a good job directing everyone and getting all the shots we wanted quickly. It was also freezing on both our wedding days, and Genevieve was such a good sport (and actually so enthusiastic) about braving the cold to get some amazing outdoor pictures. (Those are some of my favorite, so I'm so glad she braved the cold with us!!)
I really can't recommend Genevieve enough. You can't go wrong if you hire her, and I promise you will end up with amazing pictures from your wedding!

So happy with our photography decision!

Once you begin planning a wedding, you realize that finding someone helpful and very responsive is not extremely commonplace. Genevieve was quick to get back to me from the start and she had answers to all of my questions. I chose to hire her because of her responsiveness, professionalism, photography style, and the fact that she edits her own photos (a huge plus for me since many these days do not do it on their own).

The day of had a few hiccups, as can be expected with any wedding. However, Genevieve handled everything like a true professional. While waiting for the ceremony to begin and there was a bit of downtime, Genevieve even helped arrange some of the flowers last minute at the venue. She was there anytime I requested a photo, otherwise she did exactly what I wanted.. captured moments! We had a small wedding, so we did not need multiple photographers. She single-handedly captured everything we could have ever wanted to see from our day.

You will not regret hiring Genevieve and I really can't thank her enough for going with the flow on a stressful day and returning beautiful photos in an extremely reasonable timeframe to us.

A million stars!

You would be so lucky to have Genevieve and/or her associates Amy and Slavy as photographers! We had our engagement pictures taken by Genevieve and then, since she wasn't available for our wedding, her associates Amy and Slavy. Let me just tell you, the photography will blow you away. Their pictures are simply breathtaking, artistic, and beautiful. Picture quality aside, Genevieve, Amy and Slavy are some of the most awesome people you will ever meet. We absolutely loved working with each of them. They were sweet, professional, down to earth, efficient, funny, and so personable. So talented, plus a dose of wedding wisdom to boot!

I looked through dozens of photographers in the area and it was immediately clear to me how skilled she is, and that she has such a gorgeous style. We loved her scenic photos, emphasizing the beauty of the natural surrounding and taking some of the focus off this generally camera-shy couple. Genevieve was one of the first vendors I booked, and I'm so grateful she was able to document our big day.

She was very honest with us, not trying to upsell me on a second photographer, and ensuring me she could capture all the big moments herself. My guests literally thought we had 2 or 3 photographers because she seemed to be everywhere... they were shocked to find out it was just her!

We also did an engagement session with Genevieve, which was a great way to understand the process and get more comfortable posing. We learned during that session how quickly she works -- no awkwardly holding poses for a long time, Genevieve just snaps away!

Finally, as someone who has photographed probably thousands of weddings, Genevieve has seen it all and was a very reassuring presence on my big day. When I had to make a rain call and ultimately move the ceremony inside, she calmly assured me that I had made the right call, putting my worries at ease. She confidently told me multiple times the indoor rain plan would look beautiful and photograph gorgeously, and it did. She noticed a couple details from our ceremony that were really special to me and complimented them -- as someone who's been to so many weddings, you know she means it when she gives a compliment! She was super flexible all evening, going with the flow when I asked her for portraits with certain groups of friends, and picking up on spontaneous moments on the dance floor. Our album is so beautiful and I had a huge smile plastered on my face going through it this morning. You will NOT be disappointed if you book Genevieve -- but do it now, before she gets snapped up by someone else!

Genevieve is AMAZING!

Genevieve did an incredible job with our wedding photos. After our wedding day I asked my husband what his favorite part was and he told me he most enjoyed taking first look pictures at Morven Park. Genevieve was SO easy to work with and she made us feel comfortable while taking pictures, and it really shows in the end result. We had to reschedule our wedding and she was very accommodating which meant a lot since we already had lost multiple deposits. We are extremely satisfied with her work and would highly recommend her to any bride and groom.

Genevieve was phenomenal! She went above and beyond to photograph our wedding day and we could not be happier with her photographs. She captured our looks, our laughs, and the small details that create a beautiful ceremony. She also brings far more than her camera to your venue, she delivers a burst of energy, a wonderful sense of humor, and her ingenuity. She helped me finesse our wedding day timeline to optimize first look photographs and "be ready" times for family, this was particularly helpful for children in our wedding party. She also helped me improvise when I did not have an elegant hanger for my wedding gown photographs or the skills to fasten my own bustle after the ceremony. Best wedding photographer

Genevieve did an amazing job with our engagement and wedding photos. Her photography is truly breathtaking and she was able to capture the beauty of the venue and our day so perfectly. Outstanding in every way!!!

Thanks to Genevieve for her kind heart and reassurance throughout this very difficult and emotional pandemic, causing so many families to rethink how they will choose to celebrate their wedding day. We will never forget her amazing support in helping us to pull off our fairytale, socially distanced wedding in less than 3 weeks time!!! We kept our original date in July 2020, by reducing our guest list from 180 to 18 to meet state phases and guidelines. We gave up our massive beachfront for a smaller country french venue and still, Genevieve brilliantly managed to capture every special moment, with such beauty and purpose, as though it was our original intent to celebrate so intimately from the start. Her professionalism and talent allowed her to find the best backdrops, scenery and lighting to enhance the photo and intensify the majestic vibe. She was also brilliant in making all guests feel comfortable in arranging "distanced placement" with groups to look intentional for family photos. Her years of experience proved well in helping with the miscellaneous of pinning boutonnieres, trellis and the like and her playful sense of spirit helped keep the new "normal" on a lighter note! Genevieve was heroic in the interim cheerfully accommodating our changes in dates as well as providing available venue options during a time when most places were closed. She also was quick in getting us photos so that we could send links to all of our friends and family that weren't able to attend. The response to our photos has been amazing. They are just gorgeous-- we have so many favorites!! Our friends and family cant stop raving at her talents as well! Genevieve Leiper Photography stood out over a year ago early on in our wedding planning. We could never have imagined one year later, what an important role it would play in our special day in making our dreams come true!!!

5 stars is not enough

Genevieve is one of the best vendors we hired for our wedding. If I could give her any more than 5 stars I would, because she deserves them all. She came from a recommendation from our venue and I could not have been any more thrilled with how attentive and helpful Genevieve has been. We ended up having to postpone our larger wedding celebrations to next year due to COVID-19, but Genevieve is so amazing she had already talked to our venue to make sure she was available on dates we were considering before we even picked one. In all of the rescheduling process, if I sent an email to her, I knew that within about 5 minutes she was going to give me a call and help calm all of my nerves. She is that amazing.
At our small ceremony this year, Genevieve helped to create a timeline for our short time together to get all of the photos that we wanted and even helped us squeeze in a first dance too. She made the groom and I feel so comfortable and relaxed (even if it was nearly 100 degrees outside while we were taking photos). She even did a great job of getting our young nieces and nephews to smile in photos which is quite a task when they range from ages 1-8.
We cannot wait to see our photos from this year and are looking forward to working with her again next year. We cannot say enough good things about Genevieve and highly recommend her to any other couples.

So nice we are using her twice!

Genevieve is so amazing we used her TWICE!! When Covid19 derailed our original wedding plans, we reached out to Genevieve and she was able to accommodate our new wedding plans. We used her on our original date (just the two of us) and also kept her for our vow renewal/ reception this year. She is extremely down to earth and has the most creative eye. Best Decision Ever!

My husband and I had to cancel our "big" wedding celebration due to COVID and found Genevieve through a recommendation. We decided to honor our original wedding date and proceed with an intimate ceremony. To say she saved our day would be an understatement! She was generous, kind and very well organized through the process. She went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and help make the day extremely memorable. Looking back, I wish this had been our original plan! We received the photos of our day very quickly and we were truly delighted. Can I give more than five stars?

We hired Genevieve to shoot both our engagement and wedding photos. It was hands down the best wedding decision we made. SHE IS ABSOLULTELY FANTASTIC! I cannot say enough good things about her. Our photos look like they were pulled out of a magazine – and that is saying a lot given my husband and I are not the most photogenic humans. We could not be happier with her services and she is an absolute pleasure to work with. She made us feel so comfortable. We were married right before COVID-19 restrictions began to take place and some of our important family members were unable to attend at short notice. Genevieve went above and beyond to make sure they could still witness our special day and set up video recordings for us as well. Excellent!

Genevieve was absolutely amazing! I would highly,highly recommend her. From our initial phone call, to our in-person meeting, it was clear that Genevieve was very professional and extremely talented. She captured all of the wedding’s moments beyond our expectations. The posed photos were spectacular and the candid photos were incredible. You can feel the joy and we can almost hear the music playing in the background while looking at still photos. So amazing! She knew the venue so well and was very well prepared. The photos were taken in different locations and very thoughtful but also taken very efficiently. Genevieve has a calm disposition and a discreet style. She was a pleasure to work with. Her assistant Slavy was fabulous as well. Whenever we look at our photos we say “we were so lucky we hired Genevieve”.

Genevieve is the best!

I can’t say enough about my experience with Genevieve throughout this past year! In addition to her amazing work she is always prompt in communicating and went above and beyond in every way. We were lucky enough to have Doug and Genevieve shoot our wedding and they were a true dream team and a blast to spend the day with. We had so much fun and Genevieve made sure to capture every special moment throughout the whole day! She even took the time to rebustle and fix the sleeve on my dress when I had a wardrobe malfunction! She's the best!

Genevieve was so amazing! We're so thankful that we chose to go with her for our wedding photography. No photos to share yet, since we just got married a little over a week ago, but I have no doubt that they're going to be perfect (she showed us a few little previews while we were taking them and they looked AWESOME!!). The absolute best photographer EVER!!

Not only is Gen an amazing photographer but she was my right hand girl. I had an amazing bridal party and wedding party but she might as well have been another bridesmaid. She had my back the entire time. Not only capturing this amazing day but ensuring everything was how I wanted. She gave me advice the day of and never left my side!!! Wonderful to work with!!

We booked Doug and Kirk for our wedding day. Genevieve was a pleasure to work with in the lead up to our wedding. We communicated with her to get our list of "must have" photographs and she always very responsive to our questions. On our wedding day, Doug and Kirk were fabulous. Doug was so much fun and really put us at ease so we spent the whole day laughing! Our pictures turned out great and we couldn't be happier. Genevieve then edited the photos quickly so that we had a photos back in a week and half! She then sent us our photos on a USB that was a beautiful engraved glass and gold USB that is a beautiful keepsake. Doug, Genevieve, and Kirk were all a pleasure to work with and we would absolutely recommend them!

Wonderful Experience

Genevieve was already booked when I contacted her more than a year out from my 4/27/19 Purcellville, VA wedding, but I was in luck when she told me her cousin, Amy, and second photographer, Slavie, were available. I had already taken engagement photos with another photographer a long time before I contracted with GL Photography, so unfortunately, I was not able to have that rapport-developing experience with Amy. Despite this, Genevieve came out to my wedding venue more than a month before the wedding for a walk-through to meet my fiance and me when we were in town for a short visit. She made the time to walk through the whole area, talking to us about the photos we wanted, and suggesting places she thought would be good for photos. About a week before the wedding, I was asked for a list of pictures we wanted and moments we wanted captured as well as a list of names of family members and friends. The whole thing was seamlessly organized. On wedding day, Amy arrived early to walk around and scope out areas, and then, even when the timeline started to break down due to things going on and people showing up late, Amy was cool, composed, and collected and flexibly maneuvered her way through the changing schedule. She was a true professional and worked wonderfully with everyone, never pushy, and always sure to confirm with me before she switched gears or moved on. I haven't seen the photos yet, but judging by how well Amy and Slavie worked with all of us, I know they are going to be spectacular, and we just cannot wait. Genevieve Is Incredible!

Having done a lot of fashion work in my day, I'm super, super picky about photography, so choosing a photographer that could work with my vision and meet my goals was going to be challenging! Then, I found Genevieve. If I had to describe her work in one word, it would be "stunning". If I had to describe her in one word, it would be "amazing". She was so much fun to work with and incredibly patient and flexible with my vision. The early photos I saw through her camera that day (during my wedding) were already magazine-worthy - she just gets it. I definitely recommend her to anyone that is in need of a great photographer as after the whirlwind is over, these photos are what you are going to have to look back on, so why not hire the best?!

Gen is amazing! I cannot say enough good things about her and her second photographer, Slavie. They made the day so much fun all while taking stunning photos. We were able to actually enjoy our wedding and guests all while sticking to a timeline and getting every combination of photo we discussed ahead of time. Absolutely Perfect

Since the second Doug walked into the bridal suite, I knew that I was in good hands. It was very apparent that he knew exactly the type of photos that would work, and was very professional about all of the directions he gave.
We had our bridal party photos taken at the monuments in DC, and once we got there immediately got swarmed by tourists. He was so good about focusing on us and making sure that all of our photos were taken in a very timely fashion.
He captured everything from start to finish, and even stayed a little extra to make sure not to miss our Hora Chair dance. Such an awesome guy, very nice and am so happy he got to be a part of our special day.

Absolutely love our wedding photos from Genevieve! My husband and I spent a lot of time researching photographers looking for clear, bright photos to match our winery venue in August. We came across Genevieve's photos from a friend's wedding photos and were absolutely in love. We contacted to book her right away. On our Big Day, Genevieve was able to capture every moment. Looking back on our photos now we can relive our day that seemed to fly by! Genevieve and her right man Doug were absolutely amazing. Genevieve is an incredible photographer! I mean, just really amazing! She's so easy to work with and comfortable to be around. Having a photographer I felt comfortable around, that could make you laugh when the wedding scene starts to make you tense...there is very little that can replace that. That was so key for me. On top of that, Genevieve's photography is absolutely amazing. I was really blown away by clarity of her photos and her ability to capture so many special and unique moments with so much movement. We used her for both our engagement photos and wedding photos. Both are totally different settings and she really excelled in both!! Additionally, her evening photos look just as amazing as her day time photos! I originally struggled to find photographers who could take pictures in the evening. This is not an issue for Genevieve!! You will not be disappointed to have Genevieve as your photographer!

Working with Genevieve was such a pleasure! She has a great eye for amazing photos and is extremely talented. She made us feel at ease and captured some absolutely stunning photos of our beautiful wedding day. I had asked Genevieve to send me a couple of "sneak peak" photos because I as expecting that all the photos would take a long time to edit and she surprised me less than 3 weeks after the wedding and sent me all of the photos! (Im sure this can't always happen that way) She is just the best! Seriously, if you are looking for a phenomenal photographer, you can stop looking because Genevieve is amazing. We loved our experience with Genevieve Leiper! We found Genevieve through our wedding planner -- my husband had wanted very artistic dark Vogue-like shots and I preferred the candid warm images; you couldn't get more opposite so we had a hard time at first compromising on a photographer. Genevieve was able to do both to our likings! Im against the forced looked of engagement shoots so I was nervous when we booked ours but it turned out very natural and it was a lot of fun. The pictures were a mix of bright and vibrant, darker and artistic, and warm and candid. She has a great eye for creative shots and beautiful work. Our wedding photos turned out just as good with a great mix-up of styles. We had so much fun running around DC on our wedding day with Gen and her team, to get all different kinds of shots in. We probably weren't the easiest clients to work with at first, but we were so glad to have chosen Gen. Aside from the initial consultation, Genevieve didn't need much coaching and preferred to work off of the emotion/action of the day vs planning out shots. It was nerve-wracking to give up that control and planning (which that urge always gets cranked up during wedding planning), but it worked well for great candids and some very good artistic shots. Beautiful photos, great personality, easy to work with, affordable pricing, and well worth the investment!

My now husband and I found Genevieve though a preferred vendor list that was given to us by a venue that we were considering for our wedding. We got married recently in Middleburg, VA, and heard about Genevieve from our reception venue, Bluemont Vineyard. She came highly recommended, and it's not hard to see why. Genevieve really knows her stuff, and delivered a beautiful final product. We just got our pictures in, and couldn't be more pleased. Our photographers, Ashley, and Megan were fantastic on the day of the wedding. Both were laid back and a lot of fun, and managed to find all the good angles. We're not really big on taking photos ourselves, but they found a way to make the process tolerable, dare I say, fun! We enjoyed working with the whole team, and would highly recommend them all!

My wedding planner recommended Genevieve and I'll be forever grateful! We immediately clicked on a personal level. She's incredibly professional, artistic, friendly and able to quickly readjust when things changed. I cried when I saw our photos. I will never be able to recommend Genevieve enough. Seriously, if you don't book her for your photographer then you will wish that you had! She made me feel like an absolute model when she was done with the pictures- and she wasn't pushy during the day at all! For someone like me, who is actually extremely awkward in front of a camera, I greatly appreciated her telling me and my husband where to stand and how to post, taking a few shots, and then moving us along. Genevieve did such an amazing job on both our engagement photos and wedding photos! We worked with most of the vendors at her studio, called A Little Wedding Studio, and we were so pleased! The quality of her work cannot be matched. She is so easy to work with and she made us feel so comfortable. After the wedding, she sent us over three sneak-peek photos the very next day and they are BEAUTIFUL! She is so talented and I am glad we chose her. After the wedding, besides the wonderful memories of the day, you only have the photos so it is essential to get a great one. Booking your photographer is one of the first things you should do after getting engaged, and I am so glad we booked Genevieve. Our photos are amazing!!!! Genevieve is truly an artist. Not only did she capture our wedding day, but she really tuned into our personalities. I highly recommend her services. I also recommend having an engagement shoot. This allows you to loosen up a bit in front of the camera so it isn't awkward on the big day. The photos from our engagement shoot are awesome as well and look more like our day to day selves, rather than all dolled up on our wedding day. I slightly regretted not hiring a videographer. But honestly, watching the photos Genevieve and her assistant took one by one, we relived the entire day. There honestly wasn't one thing she missed. I'm so pleased with our photos and have absolutely no regrets in hiring Genevieve. I would/will hire her again!

Genevieve is amazing! We are in love with the pics from our wedding. She was great to work with up front too - I was worried about budget and she worked with me on options to make it work. I did end up using a 2nd shooter, who was also great and captured lots of other angles. They were both really fun at the wedding too - lots of joking around with us during our post-ceremony pics, that resulted in some fun candid laughing photos (they are sneaky as I didn't even know they were taking them!). :) We have so many great shots, I have no idea how to pick the best for a book! Some of the most amazing ones are the action shots of the dancing - we had some really fun spontaneous moments on the dance floor and ever single one was captured for posterity!

Photos were one of the big ticket items for our wedding. Genevieve was a dream to work with. Her style is unique, fresh, and timeless. We were so comfortable with her during our engagement shoot and on the day of the wedding! We had two photographers and they were both exceptional. Edit: I filled out this review before even seeing my photos because, honestly, I wanted the wedding wire gift. After seeing my photos, though, I have to upgrade everything to 5 stars. I only had had value below a five because she is expensive, but if magically I could have seen the photos she took of my own wedding before I booked with her, I would have paid even more.(I'm always somewhat skeptical seeing other weddings because maybe they are just gorgeous people!). She took about 1,000 pictures, and I love almost 900 of them. She captured everyone in the best possible angle and light, and me and my family (honestly, not the most photogenic bunch) look better than I have ever seen.

Genevieve is so incredibly talented and likeable, you will instantly want to make her your best friend. But when she isn't making you feel completely at ease and making you feel like you've known her forever, she is inconspicuously taking gorgeously framed and lit photos. She books up quickly and completely for a reason - she's absolutely one of the best at what she does. She also had two of the things I was most looking for - she gives you reprinting rights over the photos after the event, so you don't have to ransom them back at an outrageous cost after you've already paid for the photographer's time, and if you want (I did!) she will photoshop your pics until you are a couple dress sizes smaller with flawless skin.

I had met Genevieve a few years ago through a mutual acquaintance, I always LOVED her work and when the day came for me to hire a wedding photographer; I had to have her! Working with Genevieve was so easy and fun - we spoke on the phone & email a few times and about a month before the wedding we met in person in her adorable shoppe in downtown Leesburg. Genevieve is so incredibly talented, her work speaks for itself. On the day of the wedding, I don;t know what we wouldve done without her. We had a large wedding party and Genevieve knew exactly how to wrangle them all in! During our photoshoot (just me and my new hubby) Genevieve even showed me little sneak peeks of what the pictures looked like on her digital camera. Additionally, her assistant Meg (I believe was her name), was on point as well, helping me carry my huge dress around the outdoors for the perfect shots... I was even so flustered during the ceremony, that I forgot my bouquet! Thankfully, Meg had my back and she quickly ran inside and brought it to me before my dad and I began to walk down the aisle. I first discovered Genevieve's work a few years ago and immediately fell in love with her style and use of light. Hiring her was the first thing I did when we planned the wedding, and I'm so glad I did! She was amazing. The quality of Genevieve's work speaks for itself, but she was incredibly responsive, so fun to be with, and made our wedding day that much more special. She got every photo she knew I was thinking of - and then some! Genevieve was also incredibly generous with her time and photos. Even my mother - who is incredibly difficult to please - cried at the photos and loved them all! My single bridesmaids have already told me they want to hire her for their weddings :). My husband and could not be more thrilled with the work she did and would whole heartedly recommend her to everyone!

Genevieve is an amazing photographer, and she was one of our favorite vendors to work with. She was wonderful to work with leading up to the day, particularly for us planning an out of town wedding. On the day of, Genevieve and her assistant, Amy, were efficient, fun, and professional. They both helped us feel very much at ease and allowed us to focus on each other. It shows - our pictures are excellent and capture so many wonderful moments throughout the day. Her pictures are timeless and she clearly has a wonderful eye for poses and scenery. We would book her again without hesitation.

We used Genevieve Leiper for our September 27th, 2014 wedding and we absolutely loved her! She came highly recommended from our wedding planner, Lindsey Farrell of Kelley Cannon events and though we were supposed to meet with a few other photographers, once I met Genevieve I knew that I wanted to work with her for our wedding!

I was nervous about having my photograph taken as I am usually camera-shy, but Genevieve made everything fun and relaxed and still obtained amazingly beautiful images. Both her and her second photographer knew exactly where to go in Alexandria, Virginia to get beautiful shots of both me and my husband as well as the wedding party. I didn't have any particular shots in mind but I knew I was in great hands with Genevieve and I was not disappointed. The pictures I have seen so far are amazing and I am so thrilled with the results.

In addition, during the reception both Genevieve and her second photographer were able to take pictures of the guests in-action on the dance floor without getting in the way of the dancing! I was so happy that we barely noticed them while we were having a blast on the floor.

Overall: hiring Genevieve was the perfect decision for our wedding and I cannot wait to see the rest of the pictures from our day!

From the day we got engaged, I knew I wanted to work with Genevieve Leiper. I work in the events industry, and had seen her work before and fell in love with it. For us, photography was one of the most important things for our wedding, we actually booked with Genevieve before signing with our Venue! Not only does she produce beautiful pieces of art that we will cherish for years to come, but Genevieve has such a heart of gold. The entire process from meeting/signing our contract to the wedding day was such a joy. She is so responsive to call/emails and answers any and all questions. Genevieve Leiper is one of THE best photographers I have had the pleasure working with. She made taking photos with my bridal party and family at my wedding FUN and EXCITING! Dan and I had a blast with her, she has an eye for the most amazing backgrounds and scenery. While we were on our honeymoon she sent me our sneak peeks, they were the most BEAUTIFUL photographs I had ever seen in my life. The Washington Post picked my husband and I for a love story and even used one of Genevieves pictures from our wedding! Overall, Dan and I got MORE than we asked for and expected from Genevieve and we could not be happier with the outcome! I have already recommended her to ALL of my friends and family and I know a few have already signed with her since my wedding photos came out!

Genevieve is the best wedding photographer in the DMV area! We were so impressed and thrilled with our wedding pictures. From the very beginning we knew that having her capture our day was the right decision. She was so easy to talk to, very sweet, easy to set up times and get a hold of her, had stunning albums to show us and works in a very clean and cute space in town. She had all that we were looking for and more! When it came to our day she executed everything perfectly! She made sure to capture all of our emotions along the way and all the small details we will be sure to remember. Everyone in the pictures looks so happy and full of life! She did an incredible job moving quickly and staying on time, leaving us feeling calm and knowing we were in good hands. We had so many great shots from our day and can't wait to put together our almum. All of our friends and family who have seen our proofs are blown away with how crisp, clear and rich the colors are while capturing some terrific moments. Genevieve was by far one of our favorite vendors and we are so lucky she was available to shoot our wedding. I am in awe of Genevieve's talent. My husband and I scheduled a meeting with her after reading reviews on wedding wire and checking out her pictures. When my husband and I first sat down with her, we could tell we wanted to work with her right away. Her photography style is flawless and exactly what we wanted.

The contract we signed with Genevieve included our engagement pictures and it was a great way to work with her before the wedding. It was a sweltering hot day in Alexandria but she still managed to make our pictures amazing! We had several locations and her eye for interesting backdrops was great. She was a blast to work with so we knew our wedding would be great.

We worked with Genevieve and Chad on our wedding day and I am so excited to see how our pictures came out!!! Each one they showed us was stunning- just on the camera screen! I can't imagine how they will look like full size. They were SO fun to work with and that makes having your picture taken easier when you feel totally at ease with the people you are working with.

**Note: We recently received our pictures from Genevieve in record turnaround time and we couldn't be happier with them! Genevieve and Chad completely captured our love and emotions during the day as well as those of our family and friends. Everyone says how gorgeous the pictures are and we couldn't agree more! We are so happy that we have the best day of our lives captured so beautifully that we can share with our kids some day. Plus, she sent us three high-quality prints of our choice!

Genevieve photographed a wedding I was a bridesmaid for a few years ago. I loved how she worked with the bridal party, and obviously, her style. I followed her website ever since knowing that one day she would be my photographer. And she was just that! When I got engaged, Genevieve was the first vendor I booked! Before even finding a venue I booked Genevieve. I didn’t care about the location as much as having her photograph our wedding. Our wedding pictures are amazing. They are truly breathtaking. I have people tell me constantly that our pictures belong in a magazine because they are that perfect.

Booking Genevieve was the best wedding decision I made. My mom said the only thing she wanted in the whole process was the best photographer so we have amazing pictures to look back on forever. And we absolutely do! I look at my wedding pictures every day, and most times I cry because of how perfect they are. She captured every single moment, and every emotion. She didn’t miss a thing! I am so glad that we chose Genevieve to be our wedding photographer. I think my husband and I tend to tense up when in photos, but Genevieve was so relaxed, professional, and sweet that it was very easy to stay relaxed around her -- sometimes it was like she wasn't even there! She was very prompt and punctual -- she arrived right on time on the wedding day with her assistant and stayed for the entire contracted time, always shooting photos.
Knowing that she has been to Whitehall (my venue) so many times was a great relief, because once we arrived at the reception she knew exactly where to take us around the property and in what order, and we were even able to enjoy some of our cocktail hour, which I did NOT think would happen! She knew the perfect times to pull my husband and I outside to get good night shots and took lots of detail shots during the ceremony and reception that I absolutely love. We got so many great photos without feeling totally worn out from all the 'sessions,' she truly made it as painless as possible.
6 weeks after the wedding, we got our online album and our USB with the photos are on the way as I speak. It is so wonderful to relive the day through her beautiful pictures and I just cannot stop looking at them! Loved working with Genevieve and I would definitely recommend her!! THANKS GENEVIEVE!

Genevieve is amazing. She is incredibly responsive, professional, FUN, easy to work with, and enormously talented. We are still absolutely in awe of our wedding pictures. One of her biggest gifts is being able to capture scenery AND emotional moments in a single shot. We got married in a gorgeous vineyard in Loudoun County, Virginia, and Genevieve could not have done a better job documenting the stunning surroundings. She also caught so many tender moments -- it's been impossible to name our favorites. Without any guidance from us, Genevieve got pictures of all of our guests - some mingling, some at dinner tables, some at the cocktail hour, some dancing and we are so glad we have that record of who celebrated with us. Genevieve also has a great eye for artful shots. There are a bunch of pictures in our album that show aspects of the wedding from a unique perspective. These shots will be the ones we'll have on our walls for years. Another great thing about Genevieve: she's patient! She kept her cool during our flower girl's meltdown during the bridal party formals and kept her smile as my side of the family insisted on having group shot after group shot after group shot. Genevieve worked extremely hard for us and made us feel as though we were her most important clients - and I know she gives the same kind of effort and attention to all of her clients. Needless to say, we LOVED working with Genevieve and cannot recommend her more!

Genevieve was great to work with. Her photos are AMAZING and her personality is very easy to “click” with. She is laid back but VERY organized and professional – which is what you want for your big day. We had our engagement photos taken as part of the package – the turnaround time was short and we got all the photos on CD within a couple weeks. It rained the week of our wedding and Genevieve called to go over rain back up plans and to calm my nerves. She was very flexible in meeting to go over the timelines, etc. I wrote several questions via email and she was very responsive. Also, she was very helpful the day of the wedding – even helping with my bustle and other odds & ends that were definitely not in her job description. Her associate (the second photographer) was great too – he took many photos of the groomsmen and they all loved him.

All I really have to say is that Gen is amazing! I have been a huge fan of hers since she did the photography for a wedding for a friend back in 2006. Even before my fiancé and I were officially engaged I knew that I had to have her for our wedding - aside from marrying my husband the most important part of the day was the photography. We did our engagement and wedding photos with her and I also did boudoir photos with her as a gift to my husband. Gen was very easy to work with and was very straight forward about things that would and would not work from a planning perspective. She and her assistant for the day were on time and very easy to work with. She is very experienced and if given a list outlining the photo expectations she is able to blow through each one rather quickly (assuming the family acts right!). She was so efficient that we were actually able to enjoy a majority of our own cocktail hour! (Granted, my fiancé and I did not want to do a million shots or drive around to a bunch of different locations - we did the family shots outside of the church and the wedding party group shots outside of the wedding venue and the two locations were only about 150-20 mins away from each other.) One the major things that many people noticed was that they were practically invisible at the wedding ceremony and reception; you didn't have to maneuver around them or silently wish they would move out of your way so that you could see. She made sure that all of the reception "must-have" photos were done at the beginning of the reception so that my husband and I could enjoy the night with our family and friends. She turned around the photos within 6 weeks as promised and believe me, we were blown away! We still get compliments on how well they turned out. We are looking forward to the wedding albums that we purchased for ourselves and parents. Compared to other photographers she is a bit more expensive but honestly, she was worth every penny!

Genevieve Leipers photographs are simply stunning. Genevieve and her assistant were very professional, but also quite fun and so enjoyable to work with. They could not have been more accommodating and worked with us throughout the day and evening; starting with makeup and ending with the send off. My daughters wedding was held at Oatlands Plantation in Leesburg and the pictures in the gardens are truly exquisite. Throughout the planning process, Genevieve was always helpful, and very receptive to my last minute changes. Genevieve also did my daughters engagement photos which too were beautiful. I would highly recommend Genevieve for your wedding.

Genevieve takes the most stunning photos. She was our photographer for both our engagement and wedding photos and I couldn't be happier. She takes tons of photos so you have a lot to choose from and she is very creative. Her team was wonderful and made me so comfortable. I was very uncomfortable in front of the camera and Genevieve and her assistant made me so comfortable so the photos came out looking very natural. Genevieve is extremely funny and really makes taking all the photos fun. She has a great personality. She seems to book up quickly for wedding season so make sure to hire her early on during your wedding planning.

I absolutely love my wedding photos! Genevieve was easy to work with and did a great job. She did both our engagement photos and wedding day photography. Both sets of images were edited and sent to us pretty quickly. The photos are absolutely gorgeous. There are a lot of unique and creative shots. She was very responsive to when we felt most comfortable and looked most at ease and figured out how to use those poses in a great way. I enjoyed spending so much time with her on the wedding day - she is fun and dedicated. I have to also comment that when some of the caterers were being too loud in the kitchen during the ceremony, Genevieve's assistant actually went into the kitchen to ask them to be quiet. I was so thankful to her for helping make every part of my day run smoothly, not just the photography. I highly recommend Genevieve!

Genevieve sets the bar for excellence in wedding photography. The combination of her expert eye and experience in the field meant this bride didn't have to worry about a thing -- and that was invaluable to me. The way she captured all of the moments and details from our wedding was just as I hoped and imagined it would be. As an added bonus, she is a frequent photographer at our venue, so she knows all the great spots for beautiful photography. When the photos arrived, I was overjoyed to see beautiful shot after beautiful shot of my husband and me, our friends, our family and our "details" -- all flawlessly executed. Your biggest problem if you go with Gen will be deciding how to narrow down your favorites to make an album! Love her.

I haven't gotten my wedding photos back yet, as I only got married a week ago, but I am more than confident that they will be absolutely gorgeous. Genevieve was more than just a wedding photographer...she was like my wedding guru the day of the wedding. On top of the fact that she is ridiculously talented, she ended up doing so many things for me that I didn't expect (for example, she bustled my dress for me). She made us feel so comfortable with her bubbly, fun, laid back personality. My now husband and I are not what you would call "photogenic". We tend to act really awkward in front of a camera. However, Genevieve really made us come out of our shells...when we actually knew she was taking pictures. I'm pretty sure she got hundreds of pictures that we weren't even aware of, which I love. She got all of the classic necessary photos with the family and bridal party, but she also took a lot of really fun, artistic photographs. One of the reasons we chose her was because her photos really look like art and not just cheesy typical wedding pictures. She showed us some samples as we went through the day, and they were absolutely stunning. I wish I could have them now, but I know they will be worth the wait! She was a bit of a wedding splurge for us, but I'm so glad that Genevieve is what we splurged on. Having a good wedding photographer was one of the most important aspects of my wedding day to me, especially since my groom and I are kind of inept at taking good pictures with each other, despite the fact that we both really appreciate good photography. As far as value goes, she is MORE than worth the money if you care about having quality wedding pictures. Not to mention she was an absolute pleasure to have around. I should also mention that she brought an apprentice with her named Chad who was also an absolute joy to work with as well. I can't wait to see all of their work!!! I really can't even adequately describe how awesome Genevieve is, so please just take my word for it that she is worth it. After I booked with her (after doing a significant amount of research on photographers), I was pleasantly surprised to come across more of her work in Martha Stewart Weddings magazine. It really just solidified my choice. It's also worth noting that even with how busy she is, she was probably the most accessible wedding vendor I had (and I had many quick responding vendors)...about the longest I ever had to wait to hear back from her was about an hour or two, and even waiting that long was rare. I felt excited about my wedding and completely comfortable after every conversation we had. If you're looking for a photographer with an incredibly effervescent personality, as well as a ridiculous amount of artistic talent, look no further.

Genevieve was absolutely AMAZING!!! She helped capture every moment in the most important day of my life. We got married outside of Las Vegas, NV. on a VERY windy day. She managed to get the most BEAUTIFUL pictures for us regardless. She's extraordinarily talented and I would recommend her to anyone.

I can easily say this was the best decision in our wedding planning process!! Genevieve did an incredible job with our wedding photos, we are so grateful to have found her! I WHOLE HEARTEDLY recommend her and have been bragging about her since our wedding day. :) She has such an amazing gift and took some of the most unique pictures. This was something my husband and I LOVED about our photos, they were not your standard wedding day poses you see everywhere. She was incredibly easy to work with, she is simply amazing, you will be so very happy with her and your wedding photos. YOU SHOULD ABSOLUTELY GO WITH HER :) :)

Gen was incredible! We got married April 10, just a few weeks before Gen gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, and she was absolutely wonderful every step of the way. When we first met with Genevieve, she was a little out of our budget. We fell in love with her photography, however - and with her! Of all our vendors, she was my husband's favorite. We really had such a great time with her every time we met. Our engagement pictures were exactly what we wanted, and she captured every minute of our wedding day. Best of all, she put me and my family at ease. It was truly like having a friend with me every minute of the day, and Gen was incredibly responsive even after the wedding day when I called with questions about our album. Trust me, I did our wedding on a budget - but Gen is worth every penny!

Genevieve is amazing. I cannot say enough good things about our experience with her. She is extremely responsive, professional and very easy to work with. Her pictures are amazing!!!! Just check out her website. The photographer was the most important vendor to us and I have no doubt we picked the right one, we booked her before we booked our venue. I love that she had her prices posted on her website. She was not the cheapest, but not the most expensive we found. I feel that she was worth every penny we paid (and more!).

Genevieve Leiper is AMAZING!! She is so nice and so fun to work with! She has great ideas for pictures but also listened to any ideas we had as well. Her assistant named Gray, who was there for our wedding day, was so nice and sweet as well! My wedding day was freezing cold and rainy, and she still made it fun to shoot outside and the pictures turned our BEAUTIFUL! She also took amazing action shots of everyone dancing! We are not a couple who takes good candid shots, but every candid shot she took of us looked great. What great memories we have now have to cherish forever in her great pictures!

Genevieve is hands down the best photographer in the area! Not only did I feel immediately comfortable in our very first meeting, you cannot help but fall in love with her adorable personality and passion for her work. Genevieve went above and beyond my expectations in every way. I am in love with my wedding photos and I have received more comments than I can count. She captured every magical moment, I cannot wait to see our albums. Genevieve has found customers for life in my husband and I. We would recommend her a million times over!

We love Genevieve! Throughout the wedding process you hope to find people who share your vision, and who will help bring the perfect day to life. At the end of the wedding we couldn't wait to get the pictures back, and we have so many amazing shots to help us remember the day, she truly captured it. Throughout some of the challenges in the past year Genevieve was always kind and helpful which makes her not only a great photographer but a truly dedicated wedding professional. Genevieve (and her assistant) was a pleasure to work with. She was very professional but personable as well. She was creative with posed shots so they were more organic and fun rather than stuffy and boring. During the ceremony and reception, I barely knew she and her assistant were there. They got amazing shots without being in everyone's way. The photos are absolutely amazing and really captured the moments and personalities of everyone.

Worth every penny! Have not yet seen the pics from the wedding, but our engagement shots were amazing and she did let us look at some shots on the digital screen as she took them. She has been a top notch pro the whole way. Remember - you get what you pay for, and Genevieve is well worth it. ***UPDATE - We have received our pics and everyone was better than the next. I'd like to start this review out by saying that Genevieve had a baby three days before our wedding in May. And was in the hospital until the day before. And she still made it to our wedding to shoot my husband and I getting ready, formals, our ceremony, and first dance. If that doesn't show you how professional and dedicated Genevieve is, I don't know what will.

Genevieve also brought her two assistants, Gray and Ashley. Between the three of them, they captured every moment, every look, every emotion of the entire day, like a story, right up until the end. When my husband and I got the pictures back, we laughed, cried, and relived the entire wedding all over again. The pictures are absolutely beautiful. Most wedding guests remark about how good the food is, how lovely the venue, or how great the music. All our guests talked about the next day were how great our photographers were and how they were so flexible and captured every moment of the day.

Genevieve and her team are so professional and their pictures so amazing and artistic, that you shouldn't look any further. Do yourself a favor and book Genevieve for your wedding!!
