  Creations in Catering is amazing. Joanna made our wedding all possible. We were planning our destination wedding from Toronto Canada and needed help with everything. Joanna stepped up and contacted all of our vendors, referred some as well, organized the entire day from set up, to clean up. They created a custom menu for us. She even made our wedding favors. We can not thank her and creations in catering enough. Through out the reception she made sure our guests and us were taken care of, and even had time to make us a plate of food so we could eat throughout the busy day. Our toddler was also taken care of (she even cut the food in to small pieces easier for her to eat). Joanna and her team really do look out for every detail. Highly recommend. Thank you Joanna and Creations in Catering for making our day possible.

  Creations and Catering gave us what we wanted for our Wedding from the beginning to the end. We worked with wedding coordinator Herby Yamamoto. We wouldn't ask to work with anyone else. We had every planned and finalized, until it stormed the day of our wedding. I wasn't on property of Lanikuhonua until my ceremony. Almost the entire layout was changed but was actually changed for the better. The ceremony was moved under the (40'x100') tent along with (28) tables and chairs, our banana foster station, and musicians. During the Wedding Creations and Caterings discretely rearranged the tent by taking out the ceremony to make more room for our reception. The bartender was awesome by keeping our drinks flowing while keeping our line short. From the beginning to end Herby and his crew was wonderful. We RECOMMEND them to ANYONE and EVERYONE.   Herb and his team were on it from the moment I arrived. Herb's team picked up the slack of my coordinator who didn't do her job whatsoever. They were waiting on me (the bride) and if I needed anything they were there to fix the problem. They were basically doing the job that my day of coordinator and team were supposed to do.
  
  For the food, I really enjoyed the buffet dinner. The appetizers were a bit cold, especially the chicken skewers, so I didn't eat any of it because it didn't taste fresh, but the buffet was quite amazing for the amount that we paid.
  
  The only thing that we were confused with was the contract- I think things need to be laid out more clearly when it comes down to exactly what we are paying for (at bottom of contract). I actually got confused with the amount that we were paying for each meal because it was stated as one price at the top and then another price at the bottom, so I think everything just needs to be matched up and made clear.
  
  Finally, something that my husband and I really appreciated was the fact that Herb's team went out of their way to put some bales of hay and barrels in another area where it was initially placed, but since my coordinator didn't follow my directions, it was placed somewhere else.
  
  So, overall, I want to say a HUGE thank you to Herb and his team saving my coordinators shortcomings-everything was great for catering!

  Herb and his team was awesome! He was so patient in working with us within our budget range. He provided us a custom made menus that fit our budget and our taste. Just explain to him your concerns and he would gladly help and provide suggestions on ways to save money. At first, I thought we couldn't afford him but he did it. It was unbelievable! The food was great, he kept his promise to be at the reception site early. They were so professional and made sure our guests were satisfied. I love Herb he was just the coolest person I've ever met! They did a perfect job! Thank you so much Herb!

  Herb was the BEST! It's tough when dealing with planning a destination wedding and Herb was so kind over his emails as my new BFF that it charmed me the whole way through the process. I want to thank him, Ruth at the front desk, the bartender, the wait staff, the behind the scenes staff, the break down and set up crews and everyone that made my day the most wonderful and beautiful day of my life.

  Herb & his staff were so wonderful. Everyone kept saying how friendly & professional they were. They were very attentive and even made us new plates since our food got cold when we went to take sunset pix. Herb always responded quickly and was great with my last minute additions & changes. Service, communication, and great tasting food is what is important. They definitely came through on all three. I also love how they personalized the menu right from the quote. The little details mean a lot. I would definitely use them again!

  We worked with Herbert Yamamoto from Creations in Catering. He was always available to answer questions. He reassured us with confidence that the cocktail hour and reception would go off without a hitch and he was right! The food was excellent!! Our guests (Hawaii locals and US mainlanders) were thoroughly impressed with the misoyaki butterfish and the lau lau! The wait staff, cooks and bartender were all very professional and did a wonderful job!

  Herb & his staff created a wonderful wedding party for us. The planing process went through smoothly via emails and one meeting even through we live in Japan. Herb was very flexible about last minute changes and his decisions were right. All guests said they loved the food, the decorations, and floral design! We had a very special day because of Creation In Catering.

  Herb and staff went out of their way to make sure my wife and I were comfortable , ate well and especially made my wedding party and us feel spacial as if we were royalty. The staff was also polite to me even though I was irate with someone outside of creations in catering. With their professionalism they quickly calmed me down by being polite and introducing themselves to us and accomidating my every need.   Creations in Catering, and particularly Herb Yamamoto, created a wonderful wedding for me and my now-husband. I live in Los Angeles and despite the distance during the planning process, Herb provided excellent customer service. He was very responsve via phone and email, which was so important to me. Herb was always so nice and friendly on the phone and in his emails always making sure to say, "Have a nice day!"
  
  My experience with the company started off a little rocky with a couple of staff changes, but Herb was able to step in and smooth everything out and regained my confidence in Creations in Catering. He is very knowledgable and was able to offer very good advice. For example, I was having trouble locating tablecloths with a black-and-white damask print and Herb was able to find exactly what I was looking for. And on top of that, he graciously allowed me to order the tablecloths directly from the vendor saving me a few extra dollars.
  
  On the day of the wedding, Herb and his staff pulled everything off just perfectly! They exceeded our expectations, which are very high!! We had a dedicated server, named Jeffrey, for our head table. He took care of our every need. Once we finally sat down at our table after taking photos and saying hi to guests, Jeffrey immediately brought us a special plate of the hors d'oeuvres that had been hand-passed during the cocktail hour - and it was great timing because I was seriously about to pass out after only eating a donut in the morning in combination with the emotions of the day. At the end of the night, Jeffrey let us know that he had prepared boxes of food for us to take back to our hotel room since he knew we did not have much of a chance to eat during our reception...so thoughtful!
  
  For our favors, Creations in Catering put together a beautiful candy bar with different types of glass vases and apothecary jars just as I had requested. Herb scoured the island for the perfect 'yellow' candies to complement our color scheme. Guests were able to help themselves and put together their own candy bags to take home as favors. Jeffrey also put together a few bags for us to take with us - a very nice touch!

  I should start by saying that the food was excellent and that I had many compliments on that, which is why I am sad I can't provide Creations in Catering a better review. Due to some staffing turnover it took me a fairly long time to get major components of my wedding solidified to the point that rentals weren't even settled until about a month before the big day and I had to be extremely persistent to get that to happen. When the rentals were delivered the white folding chairs were filthy. If not for my wedding planner I'm not sure anything would have been done to rectify the situation. The catering manager, Wendy, didn't seem to want to take any blame for anything that wasn't quite right blaming the wedding coordinator for not "letting" her speak to me (it was my planners job to deal with all the vendors for me the week before the wedding). I found her repeated commentary about all this rather unprofessional and a bit catty. She even made these sorts comments the day of the wedding which did nothing but take me out of the moment of my wedding and make me annoyed...with her. But considering everything the day of the wedding looked beautiful I was more then willing to let these things go until I witnessed at least 2 of the catering staff take cupcakes right off of the desert table (they were welcome to have some but should have waiting until the end of the night) but MUCH worse taking alcoholic drinks from the DIY bar area and drinking them during the reception. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable.
